On Dec. 19th, 2020 at 8:07am EST,<\/strong> Jupiter moves from practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn<\/strong> into freedom-loving, forward-thinking and objective Aquarius<\/strong>, where it will journey until May 13th, 2021<\/strong>. It will then revisit Aquarius<\/strong> between July 28th and Dec. 28th, 2021.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jupiter represents our desire to seek insight through knowledge; some of this planet’s keywords are gratitude, hope, honor, morality, and the law — it is also the planet of possibility, optimism, and growth (including mental and spiritual growth), and is associated with a sense of humor, goodwill, and mercy.<\/p>\n

The lower expressions of Jupiter include “Oh, the heck with it”, “I deserve this and more”, “the rules do not apply to me” — generally speaking, too much of a good thing, blind optimism, excess, stretching the truth, overindulgence, and so forth.<\/p>\n

In the natal chart,<\/strong> the position of Jupiter reveals how we express generosity and tolerance, it also shows how we go about trusting others and improving our lives. Where do you look for wisdom and understanding? Where do you need movement and spaciousness? Where do you feel optimistic and have faith that things will turn out ok?<\/p>\n

Jupiter\u00a0represents the principle of expansion (it operates like a magnifying glass); it’s been in\u00a0Capricorn<\/strong> over the last year (2020), where it created more opportunity for (and through) government. It sought an expansion of sustainable, long-term goals, and a greater understanding of our potential for overcoming adversity in the real world — for example, it helped us develop faith in our physical and cultural structures (or highlighted a lack of faith in those things). It also\u00a0showed us more clearly where our limitations lie as a collective.<\/p>\n

Capricorn<\/strong>\u00a0values both expertise and healthy boundaries, so we’ve been getting to see what we believe to be true about government, authority figures, and collective rules and regulations in 2020 (and what stories we’ve been telling ourselves) — we also gained new perspectives on our collective experience and what we want to leave behind for other generations.<\/p>\n

Jupiter in\u00a0Aquarius<\/strong> brings the\u00a0magnifying lens to bear on group consciousness, group visions, and networks of like-minded people; the opportunity now is to bring the enthusiastic energies of Jupiter to our communities, creating equality and open-minded exchanges with others.<\/p>\n

Jupiter in Aquarius<\/strong>\u00a0also promotes a greater understanding of our potential for everyone to express their individuality, celebrating each other’s differences. It helps us to have faith in our ability to turn challenges into change when we come together as one mind, one heart, one consciousness.<\/p>\n

While Jupiter is in Aquarius<\/strong> (until Dec. 2021<\/strong>), we definitely attract the most good fortune when we are tolerant and fair, inventive, impartial, and cooperative. We value people and personal freedom. Unique perspectives, skills, and talents will serve us most. We are more open to new methods and want to see progress in the world. Possibilities for great tolerance and major humanitarianism are very strong; in particular,\u00a0we are invited to offer freedom of choice to others.<\/p>\n

We are also more able to think outside the box, are more mentally adventurous, ready, willing, and able to learn. We are into \u201cmind expansion\u201d, and are less attached to our values because we are generally more impartial and open-minded now — in fact, an original mind is what we seek. Intellectual stimulation is likewise welcome now, and the pursuit of technological inventions to make the future better and easier for everyone a worthy goal.<\/p>\n

Jupiter in Aquarius<\/strong> also helps to create more joy and pleasure in the pursuit of our visions and larger dreams for humanity. This process very well might operate on a mental\/spiritual level, so any causes that we keep investing in with a positive attitude and outlook will likely pay off, leaving us feeling more free even while we pursue our bigger vision — and since Aquarius also connects to social and political groups, we may feel more drawn towards inventive and unusual people or group spirits.<\/p>\n

Ask yourself:<\/strong> What does individual and collective freedom look like for me? What road might lead to greater freedom? What might open up if I became more open-minded? What if I took a 5% more positive attitude towards humanity and its individuals?<\/p>\n

Here are some more questions:<\/strong> Where have I been visualizing less than ideal goals for humanity? What might promote an inventive perspective in regards to my connection with like-minded people? Or my various social causes in the world? How might I become more independent and tolerant when approaching social causes? What social, political, or spiritual groups\u00a0am I now ready to explore that support equality?<\/p>\n

Collectively, we will probably see the full spectrum of possibilities expressed, high and low \u2014\u00a0Aquarius<\/strong>\u00a0at its best is\u00a0a visionary energy, tolerant, inventive; it cares about social justice and human welfare. It has the ability to think outside the box and create new social structures that break with tradition and bring a futuristic\/idealistic approach to the table \u2014 and in its\u00a0denser\/lower vibrations we could find mentally rigid attitudes, emotionally detached and opinionated or even arrogant thinking, eccentric behaviors or beliefs connected to futuristic concepts that are too idealistic to work (politically speaking, or in regards to our faith).<\/p>\n

No matter what we experience on a collective level, if we are open to changing and reforming the old status quo, and have a visionary outlook on life, keep thinking outside the box, and stay committed on our journey towards a “better world”, we will reap our rewards.<\/p>\n

Jupiter moves through a 12-year cycle, so the last time it traveled through Aquarius<\/strong> was between early Jan. 2009 and mid Jan. 2010<\/strong>. And the times before that was between:
\nLate Jan. 1997 –\u00a0early Feb. 1998<\/strong>
\nEarly Feb. 1985 – late Feb. 1986<\/strong>
\nLate Feb. 1973 – \u00a0early March 1974<\/strong>
\nMid March 1961 – mid Aug. 1961<\/strong>
\nEarly Nov. 1961 – late March 1962<\/strong><\/p>\n

Think back to any of those periods<\/strong> you lived through… what possibilities or opportunities arose for you within your various communities? With like-minded people? In what ways did you grow? In what ways did you expand a vision for humanity? For a community? For a cause? What felt like a collective new beginning, or a new vision for mankind in 2009? In 1997? The other periods listed above? Where did you experience expansion in those years? How could you take that to the next level?<\/p>\n

If you were born during any of those periods<\/strong>, you will have a Jupiter Return in 2021<\/strong> — these Jupiter Returns happen every 12 years and signify a new beginning on our journey towards greater evolution. As best as you can, plant some new seeds for the next 12 years of your evolutionary journey — and set some intentions in connection with the House placement of your natal Jupiter.<\/p>\n

Saturn is currently in Aquarius<\/strong> as well; given that\u00a0Jupiter\u00a0now moves over the same territory in our charts as Saturn, we get an opportunity to build long-term structures and foundations that bring expansion for humanity. Jupiter will be within 5 degrees of Saturn until Jan. 31st, 2021.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jupiter<\/em> will connect with Saturn<\/em> in 0\u00ba of Aquarius<\/strong> on Dec. 21st, 2020<\/strong>.\u00a0This is the beginning of a 20-year social-economic cycle; it is asking us to slow down our enthusiasm for a greater vision for the world we live in and focus instead on visualizing practical results within groups and communities, so we feel motivated to achieve them.<\/p>\n

We will be wise to adopt\u00a0a step-by-step approach to the realization of our humanitarian goals, conduct ourselves with integrity, and employ an ethical, mature, and open-minded approach.<\/p>\n

Our inventions and unusual approaches need to focus on long-term sustainability and group consciousness. This is how we grow and expand as people over the next 20 years.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We might also overdo our need to “achieve something great for humanity” (Jupiter does, after all, represent excess as well \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n

Here are some questions we could ask ourselves in connection with the Jupiter-Saturn alignment in Aquarius:<\/strong> Where have we been limiting ourselves, socially speaking? Where have\u00a0we been wasting time? Energy? Resources? What might promote a new perspective on our social-economic goals? Or our achievements in our various communities? How might we become more tolerant and inventive when approaching life’s challenges? What\u00a0humanitarian aspirations\u00a0are we now ready to explore?<\/p>\n

Jupiter squares Uranus<\/em> in a little over 6.5\u00ba of Aquarius\/Taurus on Jan. 17th, 2021<\/strong>.\u00a0This is followed by three\u00a0Saturn\/Uranus Squares<\/em> in 7\u00ba of Aquarius\/Taurus on Feb. 17th<\/strong>, in 13\u00ba of Aquarius\/Taurus on June 14th<\/strong>\u00a0(the planets will be retrograde for this one), and in 11\u00ba of Aquarius\/Taurus on Dec. 24th, 2021.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Since these are Closing Squares<\/em>, we are looking for practical solutions; change needs to proceed from a level of maturity that is informed by our experience of what didn’t work before.<\/p>\n

Last time we had a Jupiter\/Uranus Square<\/em> in Aquarius\/Taurus<\/strong> was in Jan. 1938!<\/strong> Saturn and Uranus were last in Aquarius<\/strong> and Taurus<\/strong>\u00a0even earlier, in mid-1934,<\/strong> however they did not make an exact Square to each other.<\/p>\n

In 1999-2000<\/strong>, Saturn squared Uranus<\/em> in Taurus\/Aquarius<\/strong> as well, however the roles were reversed at that time: Saturn in Taurus<\/strong> and Uranus in Aquarius<\/strong>.
