A Hero’s Healing Journey | Astrologer Coach Sonja Francis

Forecast for April 16th – 22nd, 2018

The theme of last week for me was that of letting go, releasing, and stepping back into my inner spark and joy, completely present to myself and with life. This felt very much in alignment with the Station phases and Chiron in that last degree of Pisces! 🙂

This week’s headline items: Pluto’s Station intensifies on Monday, Chiron changes signs from Pisces to Aries on Tuesday early morning, Saturn comes to a halt on Tuesday late evening — starting its 4.5-month retrograde phase — while the Sun changes signs from Aries to Taurus on Thursday late evening. Mercury’s Station phase ends on Friday, which is also the day you can start taking actions on your New Moon Intentions. Finally, Pluto comes to a halt on Sunday, starting its 5-month retrograde phase.

There will also be four Moon VoC phases this week: Monday very early morning (for almost 3 hours), Tuesday early evening (for 14 hours), Friday morning (for almost 2.5 hours), and Sunday late morning (for a little over 2 hours).

Monday (April 16th): the Moon remains in pioneering, fast-paced  Aries until 4:51am EDT.  At 1:59am EDT, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts for almost 3 hours, until 4:51am EDT. Use this intuitive time to connect with people that can enthusiastically support your projects and share with them what you have going on.

As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can,…

… don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Monday early morning ahead of time 🙂

Monday at 4:51am EDTthe Moon moves into steady, peaceful Taurus, where it will journey until Wednesday early morning. We love all physical comforts, prefer consistency, and would rather stick with what we know works well.

In other words: change is not our favorite thing and “rushing things” goes against our grain. What is our favorite thing for the next two days? It’s probably, slowing down and getting in touch with whatever delights our senses 😉

Also on Monday, Pluto station intensifies until April 28th. It will come to a halt on April 22nd in 21 degrees of Capricorn (more on that later this week). When an outer planet stations, its energy gets more pronounced; we become more aware of its impact on us — and this can sometimes cause discomfort. We are being asked to hang out with that discomfort until the planet’s energy has picked up speed again (around May 5th).

As best as you can, take a closer look at whatever is “in your face” for the next 3 weeks. Look for what might no longer be in alignment with your soul’s purpose (your deep, authentic, emotional Self).

Ask yourself: Where am I holding on, out of fear? What habits, behaviors or fears are holding me back from feeling fully empowered from within? What would it look like, if I was fully aligned with my Soul-purpose? How would it feel? When we confront our fears we very often discover hidden gifts and strengths.

Special Offer extended until April 22nd: If you sign up for our next Forum by the end of this week, you will get the Saturn/Pluto Station and Retrograde webinar (from April 2nd) for FREE 😉 Please note that we will be talking about Chiron moving into Aries and Uranus moving into Taurus, in our next Forum. Major shifts ahead!

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 19-23 degrees of Capricorn, Aries, Cancer or Libra? If so, you will feel this station more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Scorpio (Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio).

Last but not least, Monday all day: If you haven’t gotten around to it yet, set your Intentions for this Moon cycle… If possible, align them with the New Moon energies that I spoke about in my last video — feel free to watch it again if you are not sure anymore — click here to watch my video on the New Moon  😉

Tuesday (April 17th)the Moon remains in steady, peaceful Taurus all day (see Monday early morning for details).

Tuesday very early morning, a Venus/Jupiter opposition becomes exact at 3:00am EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from last Saturday (April 14th) on; it will remain strong until this Thursday morning. This is asking us to find an inner and outer balance between two apparently conflicting pulls: On the one hand, toward physical comfort and self-value, on the other, toward expansion and new perspectives around intimate relationships and shared resources.

We have a tendency to overestimate our personal capabilities right now: We want to do (and be) more than is actually possible right now. In the same spirit, we might also have a tendency to live beyond our means.

As you can see, we need to watch out for feeling overly-optimistic or -enthusiastic. Moderation is the keyword, with regard to both finances and our affections: Check your bank account… and keep it real 😉 Find the balance between what you value in yourself versus what others could contribute to your sense of empowerment.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 18-24 degrees of Aries, Libra, Cancer or Capricorn? If so, you will feel this aspect quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Sagittarius (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius).

On Tuesday at 4:12am EDTChiron moves from dreamy, sensitive Pisces to fast-paced, enthusiastic Aries, where it will journey until Sept. 25th — you can regard this as a preview of coming attractions, since Chiron will move into Aries in 2019… and then stay in that sign for 8 years!

What is the significance of Chiron? It’s considered the bridge between the limitations of the physical and the unlimited nature of the non-physical (or spiritual) world. Often referred to as the “Wounded Healer”, it reminds us of our humanity — and guides us to see it as a gift.

When we take responsibility for our human limitations and move past seeing them as “wrong” or “bad”, our inner gifts and uniqueness can emerge more completely and powerfully.

Let’s look now at Chiron in Aries: The day after Chiron moves into Aries, the Sun conjuncts Uranus in that same sign. This points to the possibility that Chiron’s journey through Aries will place a strong emphasis on liberation of the self.

Chiron in Aries is all about the wounded warrior, the Healer-Hero that emerges from a Warrior’s healing journey. The healing path consists of seeing, acknowledging, embracing, and finally loving ourselves just as we are: physically, emotionally  and spiritually — especially when it comes to our personal goals, leadership and inspirational abilities, our ability to take action, our “masculine” drive.

Broadly speaking, then: our capacity to go after what we desire…

We get to see that we all have the ability to heal, and be healed, through our actions. Each of us can step into our inner healer in our own unique way.

You can ask yourself: What is the next step on the path of healing for my inner child, my inner wounding? How were my ancestors wounded around “the masculine”? What step can I personally take on that healing path?

Chiron in Aries also has us look at some of the following: How we express our anger (or how we do not express it), how we might further heal our relationship to our body (this includes sexuality, gender, etc.) and our personal desires; how we do or do not take initiative, display courage, and practice self-determination.

Ask: What would a healthy sense of identity, independence, and willpower enable me to do? Might accepting my limitations lead to unique ways to move with those energies? What makes me an individual? What are my unique desires and goals?

There is also an emphasis on injuries (especially head injuries), physical flaws, issues around anger and assertion of our anger, impatience, being ok with who we are. All of these issues could feel sensitive and fire off our “triggers” or bring up shame.

One thing is for sure: Chiron in Aries will show us a new perspective and will open new doors of healing for us — likely a physically active Healing Journey. To the extent that this transit highlights our leadership abilities, the journey is toward becoming a different kind of leader, a non-traditional one.

This question lies at the heart of that journey: How do we channel our masculine energy?

This is a very important question, if we are to become a conscious, holistic warrior. Picture the film actors Bruce Lee, Jet Li, or Michelle Yeah — they are consciously connecting the active physical with the emotional and spiritual — through martial arts in their case — you might also picture a great practitioner of Yoga — we’re talking here about a conscious, holistic relationship to physical dynamics.

What do we see in great practitioners of these arts?

Among other things, they seem to understand that impatience is wanting to move faster than what is required in the now moment.

They take responsibility for their triggers around reactivity, impatience, aggression, inconsiderate leadership, etc. and have an understanding for where it comes from (ancestors history, childhood) and what the impact is on others.

They look for unique ways to express themselves and channel those energies in a healthy way, sometimes in a new, non-traditional way. They ask “What might be the alternatives here?”

They are compassionate with themselves and others when it comes to expressing masculine energies.

Like them, this journey of Chiron through Aries is not about aggression, but rather assertiveness. For all of us, whatever our starting point, it is also about acknowledging and embracing limitations around anger. We also need an open, compassionate awareness as to whether we are responding or “reacting” to our circumstances.

As we develop understanding for our inner “wounded” child and our “human” limitations (in parallel with the above) we build a space for compassion. In fact, I recommend you celebrate your limitations. Why? Because that means you are compassionately aware of them — and awareness is always the first step towards healing.

Walking these paths can continually recreate us as leaders with an holistic approach and a healing, compassionate presence.

Were you born between April 1968 and May 1976? Or Oct. 1976 – March 1977? If the answer is yes, you have Chiron in Aries in your a natal chart and will have a Chiron Return within the next 8-9years.

In the next Forum, we’ll be talking about Chiron moving into Aries and Uranus moving into Taurus — major shifts! And here’s our Special Offer again: if you sign up for the next Forum by the end of this week, you will get that Saturn/Pluto Station and Retrograde webinar recording mentioned above for FREE 😉

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 0-3 degrees of Aries, Libra, Capricorn, or Cancer? If so, you will be more affected by this transit over the next 5.5 months. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries, since Chiron will move through this sign until April 2027.

Tuesday morning, a harmonious Venus/Pluto aspect becomes exact at 9:04am EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from last Saturday evening (April 14th) on; it will remain strong until this Thursday evening. This aspect brings a fruitful and rewarding period in our lives. We experience new depths of intimacy (with an existing or new partner), we learn to appreciate the important people in our lives, and our value system transforms and evolves.

This is likely an excellent period for finances as well. Work we’ve done might pay off, and we are able to manage our finances better, with more attention to sustainability, planning, and strategy — as well as the elimination of anything that no longer serves us. We might renew a commitment, or bring new, deeper and more intimate energy into a relationship under the influence of this aspect.

Our sexual lives might get a real boost now, as we tend to want to connect on a deeper level. We might find ourselves strongly attracted to someone, almost to the point of obsession. If this aspect connects with any of your personal planets, you might just meet the “love of your life”.

One thing is for sure — relationships experienced now are bound to be unforgettable. While this transit tends to signal new or strengthened relationships, any relationship that ends during this cycle may leave us feeling liberated. What are you feeling drawn to on a deep instinctual level? What deep desires are surfacing? What values can you no longer compromise on?

Those of us who have their Ascendent (or personal planets) in 18-24 degrees of Taurus, Capricorn or Virgo will be most blessed by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Scorpio (Venus being the ruler of Taurus and Libra, while Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio)

Tuesday until 6pm EDT, if you haven’t set your Intentions yet, this is your last chance to do so during the most potent time! If possible, align them with the New Moon energies that I spoke about in my last video — feel free to watch it again if you are not sure anymore — click here to watch my video on the New Moon: https://youtu.be/J1ILKRA2_pI  😉

Tuesday at 6:05pm EDT, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts for 14 hours, until 8:02am EDT (Wednesday morning). Use this intuitive time to take care of anything that has value for you on a physical level.

As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Tuesday evening until Wednesday morning ahead of time 🙂

Tuesday at 9:47pm EDT, Saturn comes to a halt in 9 degrees of Capricorn and goes retrograde until September 6th. We will get very clear on what we are truly committed to — or not — and on how we are living our lives in regards to our physical reality. We will also get clear on what is realistic when it comes to achieving our goals.

This is partly because our physical realities may feel like they have come to a complete halt. Take a deep breath whenever you can, as often as you can (especially Monday through Wednesday night of this week).

Saturn represents our structures, responsibilities, commitments — and our ability to “do” life on life’s terms. When this planet comes to a halt and turns retrograde, we get to see where we need to create or renew our commitments. As best as you can, take it all in and see where you would like to make adjustments. You will get a chance to do just that for the next 4.5 months.

Feel free to watch our mp4 video presentation on this month’s Saturn and Pluto Station and Retrograde phases in relation to our own Birth charts…To purchase this webinar, click here.

Remember the Special Offer: If you sign up for our next Forum by the end of this week, you will get the Saturn/Pluto Station and Retrograde webinar (from April 2nd) for FREE — two for one 😉

If you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 1-10 degrees of Capricorn, Cancer, Aries or Libra, you will be more affected by this station and retrograde-phase. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Capricorn (Saturn being the ruler of Capricorn).

Wednesday (April 18th)the Moon remains in steady, peaceful  Taurus and VoC until 8:02am EDT (see Monday early morning and Tuesday evening for details).

Wednesday at 8:02am EDTthe Moon moves into chatty, versatile Gemini, where it will journey until Friday late morning. For the next two days, we like to learn, connect and interact as much as possible. “Busy” feels good: connecting online, on the phone, or sharing face-to-face, preferably multi-tasking all the way… The one thing we can do without is boredom: If our mind is not engaged in some way, we might as well curl up and play dead 🙂

Wednesday late morning, a Sun/Uranus alignment in 28.5 degrees of Aries becomes exact at 10:00am EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from last Saturday night (April 14th) on; it will remain strong until this Saturday evening. This alignment brings confidence and a desire to connect with others through a common cause. We may have sudden insights into our friendships — and how they connect us to a bigger vision. We know that if we want to move to the next level, we need to strategize with others.

We are also asked to connect to the unusual. Our creative core is awakened: We feel compelled to express ourselves in unique (or at least unconventional) ways. Our consciousness expands, we are receptive to new ways of thinking, doing, and living; this increased openness to all that is new and different may bring unexpected opportunities.

As I mentioned in the New Moon video I posted earlier last week, Uranus symbolizes the desire for freedom, equality, and progress. Uranus in Aries, aligned with the Sun, asks us to break away from whatever keeps us from stepping up our game. Shifts are happening everywhere. It’s time to develop some courage and awareness: Where do you want to step up? If you made a big leap, where might you land?

One thing to remember: Keeping the heart and mind open could make a big difference to the experience of this alignment.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 25-2 degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn? If so, you will be more affected by this alignment. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Aquarius (the Sun rules Leo; Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius)

Thursday (April 19th): the Moon remains in chatty, versatile Gemini all day (see Wednesday morning for details).

Thursday at 11:13pm EDTthe Sun changes signs from adventurous, speedy Aries to peaceful, steady Taurus, where it will journey until May 20th. For the next four weeks, our attention is on physical pleasures, and we are more aware of our need for comfort and consistency. The Sun in Taurus reminds us to slow down and smell the roses.

We are able to be very consistent and methodical, which helps us bring groundedness and reality to our new goals. We focus on what is most important to us. What do you value most? How do you feel about yourself and what you bring to the table?

All this is especially true if you are a Leo or Taurus Sun-sign or Rising-sign. As a Taurus, you will feel a good dose of confidence and playfulness in the next four weeks; as a Leo, your vitality will most likely slow down and you might indulge in physical or material pleasures.

Friday (April 20th): the Moon remains in chatty, versatile Gemini until 10:26am EDT (see Wednesday morning for details).

Friday at 8:05am EDT, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts for almost 2.5 hours, until 10:26am EDT. Use this intuitive time as an opportunity to connect with others, exchange information, and move personal projects forward.

As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Friday morning ahead of time 🙂

Friday at 10:26am EDT, the Moon moves into protective, nurturing Cancer, where it will journey until Sunday early afternoon. With this Moon placement, we are more sensitive to what people say and therefore our feelings are more easily hurt — so be kind to yourself and others. Self-Care is key for the next two and half days 😉

Emotional safety is important to us as well; we like connecting to the familiar and we enjoy nurturing ourselves and others — home and family call to us, for instance. Make sure though, that your own glass is full before letting others drink from it; if you don’t, you might start to feel drained and resentful.

Friday around 11:16am EDT: if you set intentions last Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday, right after the New Moon became exact, today will be a great time to take relevant actions. If you wrote your intentions down, go back and take another look at what came through intuitively. If you didn’t write anything down, get quiet for a moment and check in with yourself: What actions are calling to you?

Also on Friday, Mercury resumes its normal pace through the sky today, ending its station: Communication and transportation are now back to “normal”, as are any associated gadgets, vehicles, etc. New ideas and information received during the Mercury retrograde phase can now be reviewed — What could you do with that now?

Saturday (April 21st)the Moon remains in protective, nurturing Cancer all day (see Friday late morning for details).

Saturday early afternoon, we are in a state of “flow” and emotional connection to others; spiritual and creative endeavors are favored.

Saturday early evening: our instincts and need for safety are strongly engaged. We are invited to create a balance between the familiar, and our passion, ambitions, and goals for the future.

Saturday evening, a nice feeling of ease and an ability to trust and connect deeply with others. As best as you can, trust your intuitive sensing right now, allow whatever comes up to be beneficial for you.

In the late evening, we may take an all-or-northing attitude toward others; this could drive some tension or oppositional behaviors… As best you can, remain flexible and practice self-care — take good care of your emotional and physical body — that way, you’ll remain able to empower yourself and others.

Sunday (April 22nd)the Moon remains in Cancer until 1:09pm EDT (see Friday late morning for details).

Sunday at 10:58am EDT, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts for a little over 2 hours, until 1:09pm EDT. Use this intuitive time to make adjustments and (as best as you can) find creative solutions to seemingly insoluble situations. Make space both for going after your vision and for taking care of emotional or family issues.

As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Sunday late morning and early afternoon ahead of time 🙂

Sunday at 11:26am EDTPluto comes to a halt in 21 degrees of Capricorn, starting its 5-month retrograde phase (until Sept. 30th). Pluto’s energy will continue to move more slowly until May 5th.

As I already mentioned on Monday, when an outer planet stops, its energy gets more pronounced; we become more aware of its impact on us — and this can sometimes cause discomfort. We are being asked to hang out with that discomfort until the planet’s energy has picked up speed again (around May 5th).

During the retrograde phase, we will have a chance to connect to anything associated with Pluto from within. Pluto is associated with our soul purpose, as well as the process of empowerment — our ability to feel empowered from within — and with our deepest passions. This forced us to see what really motivates us.

For the next 5 months, we need to tap into inner authenticity, embracing the entirety of ourselves — the good, the bad, and the ugly. Paradoxically, this will help us let go of any habits, behaviors or fears that are holding us back from feeling fully empowered from within.

We are invited to tap into our passion, strength and Soul’s purpose from the inside out. This deeper connection will support us in our journey towards authenticity. We can then build long-term goals that are aligned with our Soul’s purpose. Ask yourself: What do I “just know”, deep down?

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 18-23 degrees of Capricorn, Cancer, Libra or Aries? If so, you will feel this station/retrograde more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Scorpio (Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio)

Sunday at 1:09pm EDTthe Moon moves into fun-loving (and attention-loving) Leo, where it will journey until Tuesday late afternoon. We may lack objectivity and struggle with backing down or compromising. We all love to be admired — or at the very least acknowledged — for our greatness 🙂

So hand out some compliments — let people know how proud you are of them, tell them how much you love them. Come from the heart in this and all other things… be honest and authentic, as best you can. Fun, games and romance are a big part of this energy as well. You might also enjoy spending time with little ones.

If there are no “outer children” around, how about getting in touch with your “inner child” — it’s definitely easier for the next two days. What are you most grateful for today? What would be heaps and heaps of fun? What would be so much fun, you let out a tiny squeak, just thinking of it?

This Moon placement also starts the build-up towards the first Quarter Moon (exact on Saturday late evening).

Sunday early evening, at 5:46pm EDTthe first Quarter Moon in almost 3 degrees of Leo becomes exact. We started to feel this aspect from the moment the Moon entered Leo earlier today at 1:09pm EDT. The Moon in fun and attention-loving Leo makes a challenging aspect to the Sun in steady, peaceful Taurus.

We feel compelled to take action. The New Moon took place a week ago (April 15th); “seeds” planted then are probably “sprouting” by now — and making their first real contact with the outside world. This is therefore a time to stretch and grow — and create some forward momentum. We may feel anxious or unusually busy.

As best as you can, go one breath at a time. Allow for changes, remain flexible (as much as possible), and find creative solutions for your day-to-day interactions with others.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 0-5 degrees of Leo, Taurus, Aquarius or Scorpio? If so, you will feel the effects of this first Quarter Moon more strongly than otherwise. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

A head’s up for next Monday (April 23rd)the Moon remains in fun and attention-loving Leo all day (see Sunday early afternoon for details). Also, Monday night/Tuesday very early morning, an opportune Mars/ Saturn aspect becomes exact at 1:13am EDTMore about all the details in next week’s forecast 😉
