How Deep We Dare to Go — Forecast for Aug. 27th – Sept. 2nd
This week’s headline items: Mars comes to a halt on Monday late morning, ending it’s 2-month retrograde phase. Tuesday afternoon is a great time to start taking actions on our Solar Eclipse Intentions. On Wednesday, Saturn begins to slow down (station), preparing to end its 5-month Retrograde phase, while in the early evening, Mercury moves over the Solar Eclipse degree (18.5º of Leo) for the third time in the last 6.5 week. On Saturday night/Sunday very early morning, the Mercury Shadow phase ends and Saturn’s Station phase intensifies. Late Sunday evening, the last Quarter Moon in Gemini becomes exact and Venus enters her Shadow phase (prior to going retrograde in October).
There will be three Moon VoC phases this week: Tuesday late morning (for a little over 2.5 hours), Thursday evening (for almost 2.5 hours), and Saturday night/Sunday very early morning (for a little over 2 hours).
Before we get to this week’s forecast, I have one quick announcement:
Last chance to sign up for this week’s Forecasting Forum! Live on Tuesday, August 28th at 2pm PDT/5pm EDT/10pm BST (London-time). We’ll talk about the Mars Station in 28.5º of Capricorn (Mars goes direct on Aug 27th), and the Saturn Station in 2.5º of Capricorn (it goes direct on Sept. 6th).

Now, this week’s Forecast:
Monday (Aug. 27th): the Moon remains in creative, sensitive Pisces all day. It will journey there until Tuesday early afternoon. This Moon placement often finds us more sensitive, intuitive, idealistic and imaginative than normal. We also have a greater capacity for compassion, sympathy, and affection for all — but especially for those who suffer or can be regarded as the underdog.
But… that very idealism could also be our downfall at this time: We tend to see the best in everyone and everything, and when reality doesn’t match our idyllic vision, we might feel upset and even victimized by those harsh realities. A way out of this is to channel our idealism into spiritual or creative endeavors.
It’s also a great time for releasing fears — especially the ones based on a sense of separation — and experiencing “oneness”. Feelings tend to flow more freely; as best as you can, let them — in fact, “going with the flow” is the best way to go for the next couple of days.
Monday late morning, at 10:05am EDT, Mars comes to a halt in 28.5 degrees of Capricorn — changing directions after its 2-month Retrograde phase. We are called to reassess our long-term goals, relationship to freedom, and individual differences from each other — and also to look at what we’ve been doing or actively pursuing since mid-May. What have you discovered since then? What needed a renegotiation or readjustment?
We are now ready to move forward with anything that began between mid-May and late August — and we have plenty of energy to do what needs to be done. Please keep in mind that, even though this planet’s energy is now direct, it will still move slower than usual until Sept. 20th and its energy is therefore exalted. As best as you can, be aware of any tendency toward physical and mental exhaustion.
Is your Sun-sign or Ascendant in Aries? Or perhaps you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in the following…

Tuesday (Aug. 28th): the Moon remains in creative, sensitive Pisces until 12:35pm EDT (see Monday for details).
At 1:32am EDT, Tuesday morning, a challenging Mercury/Jupiter aspect will become exact; this aspect has been building from last Friday evening on — and it will remain strong until this Thursday evening. Due to Mercury’s retrograde phase, we have already experienced this aspect twice in the last 7.5 weeks; this third time around, think back to the period around July 9th and around Aug.11th.
Is it possible that there’s something that’s been suppressed for a while (especially around our intimate relationships)? Might it now need to be processed? Perhaps even expressed? What might be a way forward with this?
This aspect asks that we grow and evolve in how we communicate our joyful self-expression, how deep we dare to go with others, and how we explore our own fears and traumas. We may have to find creative solutions to communicate; we may have to learn about our thinking process and conditioning.
We want to share ourselves without limitation. We are thus inclined to exaggeration, often unintended, or overestimation of what’s possible — and thus might struggle to transform ideas into reality. The upside to all this: we can be extraordinarily funny, interesting and creative.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 13-20 degrees of Leo, Scorpio, Taurus or Aquarius? If so, you will feel this aspect quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Sagittarius (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Jupiter of Sagittarius).
Tuesday at 9:54am EDT, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that last a little over 2.5 hours, until 12:35pm EDT. Use this intuitive time as an opportunity to tap into your intuitive and imaginative abilities — then focus anew on your long-term goals.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Tuesday late morning until the early afternoon ahead of time.
Tuesday at 12:35pm EDT, the Moon moves into pioneering, fast-paced Aries, where it will journey until Thursday late evening. Life is an adventure, we’re more open to new ideas, and have great enthusiasm for new projects. Patience is certainly not our strong suit at this time, but we can decide quickly, and act immediately.
Our independence and dynamism are important to us right now, so we may find it hard to be disciplined or accept advice at this time; in general, our responses to others tend to be more assertive or even aggressive. If you find your foot tapping, try hitting the gym, or finding other ways to burn off the body’s excess energy.
From Tuesday afternoon on, after the Moon enters Aries, it’s a great time to start taking actions on our Solar Eclipse Intentions. If you wrote your intentions down, go back and take another look at what came through intuitively; If you didn’t set any Intentions after the time of the last two Solar Eclipses (July 12th and Aug.11th), get quiet for a moment and check in with yourself: What is calling to you?
Tuesday before 4pm EDT is the very last chance to sign up for today’s FORECASTING FORUM. Please note we will address the very recent Mars direct movement (Aug. 27th), and Saturn’s station phase and direct movement on Sept. 6th — in relationship to our own birth charts. If you want to know how this is going to impact you personally, join me live or sign up for the mp4-video presentation.
Other than booking a reading with me, this is the highest level of support you can get — and it’s only $37 for the 90-minute webinar (plus, it also includes this month’s powerful Full Moon video, for anyone who is not yet a Member of my online community). To register now, click here

Wednesday (Aug. 29th): the Moon remains in pioneering, fast-paced Aries all day (see Tuesday early afternoon for details).
On Aug. 11th, a Solar Eclipse occurred in 18.5 degrees of Leo; on Wednesday early evening, around 5:45pm EDT, Mercury moves over that same degree for the third time within a 6.5-week period, due to its recent retrograde motion (you may recall that the first time it did so was on July 14th and the second time was on Aug. 6th…)
This might trigger some communications or thought patterns connected to joy, self-expression, fun, or creativity; these will need to be addressed over the next 5 months.
The key here is to heighten awareness of two things: First, how can we receive more specific information about our Soul’s journey and what’s next for us?
Second: what additional information do we need to tap into, so that we can connect more fully to living from a place of joy? What messages are we receiving today that could bring more clarity?
Wednesday evening: an inner adjustment is needed, because we feel uneasy or awkward, and need to make a choice. Making this choice demands we develop inner awareness around two very different urges: on the one hand, our need for fast-moving actions and self-sufficiency, and on the other, a desire to explore our past emotional traumas or places of disempowerment — and afterward, view them in a different light.
Wednesday late evening, a somewhat challenging Mercury/Pluto aspect becomes exact at 11:40pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Wednesday early morning on, it will remain strong until Thursday evening. This aspect operates more on an internal level. We feel uneasy about something, awkward, and need to make a choice — so we need to develop inner awareness.
Our compulsive side may lead us down a path that evades rational understanding. Our judgments — of circumstances, ourselves, others — can be so extreme during this aspect that we can’t seem to make intelligent and consistent progress in our lives for the two days it is in effect.
As best as you can, strive to be more trusting, and less strict with yourself for these three days — and surrender to whatever you are experiencing right now… like everything else, it’s temporary. Flexibility and a playful attitude could be helpful too 😉
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 18-20 degrees of Leo or Capricorn? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo, or Scorpio (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio).
Also on Wednesday, Saturn slows down (stations) in 2.5 degrees of Capricorn. “Stationing” is when a planet moves more slowly through the sky. When a planet stations, its energy becomes more “exalted”; in the case of Saturn, this means we all feel the need to more fully face what is currently so, our actual reality.
Saturn has to do with doing what needs to be done — so we can fully understand the practical implications of our reality and the consequences of our past actions. Saturn also represents our structures, responsibilities, commitments, and our ability to “do” life, on life’s terms.
As spirit beings in a physical world, it’s best to observe the laws of the physical world. The sooner we learn to “play by the rules”, the easier life gets. Saturn also represents time and the “domain” of time: growing up, maturing, understanding our limitations, setting healthy boundaries with others, living with integrity, being authentic and truthful, being serious and focused on building something of value to society.
Saturn is our teacher. If you had a cosmic teacher, what would your personal “earth class” be in, right now? Where are you being asked to look at your long-term goals, and ambitions, and became more mature? What calls for a commitment towards building a solid foundation? What will time do?
As best as you can during the time of the station, bring flexibility and open-mindedness to any frustrations. The station-phase will last until Sept. 13th — and Saturn will end its 5-month retrograde phase on Sept. 6th… more on that next week Thursday 😉

Is your Sun-sign or Ascendant in Capricorn or Aquarius? Or perhaps you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 0-5 degrees of Capricorn, Cancer, Aries, or Libra? If so, you are more affected by this planets station phase.
Thursday (Aug. 30th): the Moon remains in pioneering, fast-paced Aries until 9:30pm EDT (see Tuesday early afternoon for details).
Thursday 7:04pm EDT, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that last almost 2.5 hours, until 9:30pm EDT. Use this intuitive time to make some adjustments in your life. As best as you can, find creative solutions to seemingly unsolvable situations. Make space both for going after your long-term goals and aspirations, and for your need to do your own thing, to be completely yourself.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Thursday evening until the late evening ahead of time.
Thursday at 9:30pm EDT, the Moon moves into steady, peaceful Taurus, where it will journey until Sunday early morning. We love all physical comforts, prefer consistency, and would rather stick with what we know works well.
In other words: change is not our favorite thing and “rushing things” goes against our grain. What is our favorite thing for the next two days? It’s probably, slowing down and getting in touch with whatever delights our senses 😉
Friday (Aug. 31st): the Moon remains in steady, peaceful Taurus all day (see Thursday late evening for details).
Friday very early morning: If possible, connect with people that can support your projects on a practical level, and share with them what you have going on.
Friday early morning: Slow down a little and focus on what’s sitting right in front of you that needs to be taken care of, so you can get to the next phase of accomplishment. Rushing will backfire right now.
Friday afternoon provides the perfect opportunity to get lots of practical issues handled without needing to stress or push. Make sure to enjoy a good meal or a nice beverage at the end of the day 😉
Saturday (Sept. 1st): the Moon remains in steady, peaceful Taurus all day (see Thursday late evening for details).
Also on Saturday, the Saturn Station intensifies in 2.5 degrees of Capricorn. As I mentioned on Wednesday already, “Stationing” is when a planet moves more slowly through the sky. When a planet stations, its energy becomes more “exalted”; in the case of Saturn, this means we all feel the need to more fully face what is currently so, our actual reality.
Ask yourself: Where am I being asked to look at my long-term goals and ambitions and became more mature? What calls for a commitment towards building a solid foundation? What will time do?
As best as you can during the time of the station, bring flexibility and open-mindedness to any frustrations. The station-phase will feel most intense until Sept. 9th, but altogether, it will run until Sept. 13th — and Saturn will end its 5-month retrograde phase, next week Thursday (on Sept. 6th)… more on that next week 😉
Feel free to watch our mp4 video presentation about the current Saturn and Mars Station phases and their direct motions in relationship to our own Birth charts… To purchase this webinar, click here (available after Aug. 28th).
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 0-5 degrees of Capricorn, Cancer, Aries or Libra? If so, you will be more affected by this station. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Capricorn or Aquarius, given that Saturn is the modern ruler of Capricorn and the traditional ruler of Aquarius.
Saturday night/Sunday very early morning around 1am EDT, the Mercury shadow phase ends. As you may recall, on Aug.19th, when Mercury stationed direct, I mentioned Mercury shadow phases as well: If you want to buy, sell or ship big-ticket items, it’s best to avoid the periods shortly before and after Mercury goes retrograde. This is especially true if the items are connected to transportation (cars, plane tickets, etc.) or communication (phone, computer, iPad, etc.)
The good news is, the Mercury shadow phase ends tonight. This means that we can finally go ahead and book those plane tickets — or buy that new car or iPhone (or anything else communication- or transportation-related). We can also more easily take in new information, so teaching, sharing, and learning will be more effective. Click here to read my blog on the subject.
Sunday (Sept. 2nd): the Moon remains in steady, peaceful Taurus, until 4:02am EDT (see Thursday late evening for details).
Sunday at 1:56am EDT, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that last a little over 2 hours, until 4:02am EDT. If you are awake during this intuitive time, use it to take small steps on projects already underway — it’s easier for us to sustain what we have started, and bring a heightened sense of commitment to it all.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Sunday early morning ahead of time.
Sunday at 4:02am EDT, the Moon moves into Moon moves into chatty, versatile Gemini, where it will journey until next week, Tuesday morning (Sept. 4th). For the next two days, we like to learn, connect and interact as much as possible. “Busy” feels good: connecting online, on the phone, or sharing face-to-face, preferably multi-tasking all the way…
The one thing we can do without is boredom: If our mind is not engaged in some way, we might as well curl up and play dead 🙂 This Moon placement starts the build-up towards the last Quarter Moon (exact later this evening).
Sunday at 10:37pm EDT, the last Quarter Moon in 10.5 degrees of Gemini becomes exact. We started to feel this from the moment the Moon entered Gemini early this morning. The Moon in curious, chatty Gemini makes a challenging aspect to the Sun in practical, detail- and service-oriented Virgo. This may bring challenges; however, it also energizes us to face what demands completion or change. This Moon phase brings us closer to the next New Moon in Virgo (exact on Sept. 9th).
During this particular last Quarter Moon, we are better served by reviewing those projects we began before Eclipse season started — in this case, that would be before July 2nd — as opposed to launching new ones. Out of those projects, what needs last-minute adjustments? What did you discover during Eclipse season? What did it mean for you? As best as you can, find creative solutions for anything that comes up (whether internally, or with others).
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 8-13 degrees of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius or Pisces? If so, you will feel this month’s last Quarter Moon quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer, given that the Sun rules Leo and the Moon rules Cancer.
Starting Sunday at 11:40pm EDT, Venus enters her shadow phase, as she reaches 25 degrees of Libra. This marks the beginning of her pre-retrograde shadow phase, that will last until Oct. 5th.
During a “retrograde”, a planet appears to reverse its normal direction through the sky. Astrologers refer to the period immediately before and after a planet’s retrograde phase as the “shadow phases”; at these times, the planet travels through the degrees of a sign that it will later revisit during the Retrograde phase.
Venus is usually in its shadow for about four weeks prior to a retrograde, and for almost five weeks after. This gives us a chance to reassess our values, relationships, and finances, so look carefully at whatever shows up in those areas of your life during the shadow phases — you will get a chance to readdress those issues during the Venus retrograde (Oct. 5th – Nov.16th).
Is your Sun-sign or Ascendant in Taurus or Libra? Or perhaps you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in the following: 23-29 degrees of Libra, Aries, Capricorn, Cancer, or 0-11 degrees of Scorpio, Taurus, Leo or Aquarius. If so, you are more affected by this upcoming Retrograde phase.
A heads-up for next Monday (Sept. 3rd): the Moon remains in curious, chatty Gemini all day (see Sunday early morning for details). Monday late morning, an opportune Mercury/Venus aspect becomes exact at 8:58am EDT; we started to feel this aspect build from Saturday afternoon (Sept.1st) on, it will remain strong until Tuesday evening- Sept. 4th. The Moon in Gemini quincunxes Jupiter in Scorpio exact at 10:44am EDT and it also quincunxes Pluto in Capricorn exact at 1:09pm EDT. More about the details in next weeks forecast 🙂
