Acceptance of Our Human Complexities
This week’s headline items: the Balsamic Moon phase begins on Wednesday; Uranus starts to slow down (station) on Thursday, preparing to go retrograde; and the New Moon in Leo becomes exact on Sunday morning.
There will be three Moon VoC phases this week: Monday early morning (for a little over 1 hour); Wednesday afternoon (a little over 1.5 hours); and Friday evening (a little over 9 hours).
Now, this week’s Forecast…
Monday, August 2nd:
Monday morning, the Moon remains in steady, peaceful Taurus until 4:46am EDT. We love all physical comforts, prefer consistency, and would rather stick with what we know works well.
In other words: change is not our favorite thing and “rushing things” goes against our grain. What is our favorite thing for the next two days? It’s probably slowing down and getting in touch with whatever delights our senses 😉
Monday very early morning, a Sun/Saturn opposition becomes exact at 2:14am EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from July 29th on, it will remain strong until this Thursday (Aug. 5th). We are called to balance our unique creative self-expression and “desires” against a focus on our long-term commitments and contributions in society.
Give yourself permission to connect to your heart-energy. Be aware of what energizes you and brings you joy, and at the same time, take responsibility for putting a healthy foundation under any long-term commitments and contributions to society.
We may experience a lack of energy or confidence this week. We need to “buckle down”; this could be projected out into the world as limitations that arise from people or circumstances. Energetic blocks and a general feeling of slowdown are also possible.
Paradoxically though, we can also take this time to sort out our life, sift out goals or plans that are out of date, and thereby become more truthful to ourselves. Go slow and steady with this, as pushing too hard will backfire; ask yourself: Would you rather be “in control” or happy? This is also true when dealing with others — pushing will most likely backfire…
Do you have your Ascendant, Career point (or personal planets) in 7-13 degrees of Leo, Aquarius, Taurus, or Scorpio? If so, you will feel this aspect quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Capricorn (the Sun rules Leo; Saturn rules Capricorn)
Monday at 3:41am EDT, we enter a Moon VoC that will last for a little over 1 hour, until 4:46am EDT. Use this intuitive time to wish for not only for peace and physical comfort, but also for a new understanding of your future visions — it’s important to explore what it could mean for humanity. You may need to make some adjustments between these two needs that are seemingly at odds.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Monday early morning ahead of time.
Monday at 4:46am EDT, the Moon moves into chatty, versatile Gemini, where it will journey until Wednesday early evening. For the next 2.5 days, we like to learn, connect and interact as much as possible. “Busy” feels good: connecting online, on the phone, or sharing face-to-face, preferably multi-tasking all the way…
The one thing we can do without is boredom: If our mind is not engaged in some way, we might as well curl up and play dead 🙂 As best as you can, be patient with yourself and others.
Monday, late evening, a harmonious Mercury/Chiron aspect becomes exact at 11:41pm EDT; we started to feel this aspect build from Sunday early morning (Aug 1st)on, it will remain strong until this Wednesday (Aug. 4th). This aspect is a wonderful possibility for active healing in regards to our conditioning and day to day thinking structures.
We can bring compassion, both for ourselves and for others, to communications that trigger us. We are able to allow more for our “inner playful child” to come out in unique ways as we share ourselves. Forgiveness and understanding towards ourselves and others comes more easily now in general.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 10-16 degrees of Leo, Aries, orSagittarius? Do you have an Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini or Virgo? If so, you will be…

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 10-16 degrees of Leo, Aries, or Sagittarius? If so, you will be most blessed by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini or Virgo (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo).
Tuesday, Aug. 3rd:
Tuesday, the Moon remains in chatty, versatile Gemini all day (see Monday early morning for details).
Tuesday very early morning, a harmonious Venus/Uranus aspect becomes exact at 2:53am EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from last week Saturday afternoon (Aug 1st) on; and it will remain strong until this Thursday. This aspect helps us to embrace all that is new and unusual in romance and finance.
We are ready to experiment — but not to commit. We have an offbeat, pleasant attitude and people are more willing to socialize.
This is an especially good time for financial undertakings involving any of the following: technology and the internet; metaphysics; the arts; group activities. We lose our fear of taking risks at this time, this could be a good couple of days for the stock market indexes…or at the very least, an unpredictable one 🙂
Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 11-18 degrees of Virgo, Taurus, or Capricorn? If so, you will be most blessed by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Aquarius (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Uranus rules Aquarius).
Tuesday late evening, a challenging Mercury/Uranus aspect becomes exact at 9:57pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Monday morning on; and it will remain strong until Thursday morning. This aspect creates some tension in our lives; we may feel anxious or stressed by a situation involving financial stability, personal creativity, or self-expression.
We’ll likely want to think outside the box. We may also want to make some changes to a life situation or heart connection that no longer fits. Again: We are being called to play a bigger game and may feel overwhelmed by what it all means.
Our minds may prefer things to be joyful, fun, playful, and expressive — but at the same time we feel a great desire for progress and breakthroughs. The tension between these two desires could leave us feeling irritable, mainly because we also tend to take things quite personally right now; the best way to manage this is to channel some of that nervous irritable energy into constructive pursuits.
Since there’s a tendency right now to challenge established thought, or play devil’s advocate, it also helps to get in touch with our inner truth. Use your breath to turn any fear into excitement — and let yourself drop into your heart.
Expect the unexpected, plan on disruption, revelation and breakthroughs — during this transit, the best mind is an open mind. As best as you can, go with the flow, staying open to the new and unexpectedly different. Could you allow whatever is happening to stimulate new approaches?
As you can perhaps imagine, this is not a time to make major decisions, especially if they are hasty 😉 You can think of this as “reorganizing” time for the mind, like moving your furniture around. If you feel yourself resisting the reshuffle, do your best to relax — and maybe even sit back and enjoy the show.
And as always, if all else fails, take it one moment at a time… Rather than jumping to conclusions, get grounded in the here and now — bringing awareness to your breath (or body) is a good way to do this.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 12-18 degrees of Leo, Taurus, Aquarius, or Scorpio? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo, or Aquarius (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; and Uranus rules Aquarius).
Wednesday, Aug. 4th:
Wednesday, the Moon remains in chatty, versatile Gemini, until 5:17pm EDT (see Monday early morning for details).
Wednesday late morning, around 11:20am EDT, the Balsamic Moon phase begins as the Moon reaches 27.5 degrees of Gemini. This lasts until Sunday, late morning when the New Moon in Leo becomes exact (more on that on Sunday… however, feel free to watch my video on the subject here).
We are being asked to slow down and get quiet, so we can listen to our inner sensing/intuition. For some of us, this might be a stretch. As best as you can: stay grounded, take a deep breath and exhale any tensions. Rather than starting something brand-new, put all that energy into completing existing projects or processes.
This is also a great time for letting go of whatever no longer serves us. What if you could hear the voice of your inner wisdom? What might it be saying?
Wednesday at 3:38pm EDT, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that lasts for a little over 1.5 hours until 5:17pm EDT. Use this intuitive time to connect with like-minded people, expand each other’s minds, and share information that allows you to see the bigger picture.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Wednesday late afternoon ahead of time.
Wednesday at 5:17pm EDT, the Moon moves into protective, nurturing Cancer, where it will journey until Saturday very early morning. With this Moon placement, we are more sensitive to what people say and therefore our feelings are more easily hurt — so be kind to yourself and others. Self-Care is key for the next two days 😉
Emotional safety is important to us as well; we like connecting to the familiar and we enjoy nurturing ourselves and others — home and family call to us, for instance. Make sure though, that your glass is filled before letting others drink from it, otherwise you might start to feel drained and resentful.
Wednesday evening, a harmonious Sun/Chiron aspect becomes exact at 6:41pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from last week Sunday afternoon (Aug 1st) on; and it will remain strong until this Saturday evening (Aug. 7th). This creates a supportive environment for healing our insecurities.
We can bring greater awareness to our feelings of shame and any self-deprecating thoughts or behaviors. Paradoxically, we have the chance to shine, largely because we project self-respect and modesty. This is also a great time to recognize that our so-called flaws and insecurities have become some of our best assets and strengths. Where might this be true for you?
Something else that supports healing our insecurities is a sense that we are pursuing a worthy goal — this could be something as simple as a desire to create and express ourselves, or simply acceptance of our own/human complexities while expressing ourselves creatively or otherwise.
Ask yourself: How open can I be to being courageously myself, with all my sensitivities and insecurities? How complex could I allow myself to be? How about everyone else out there in the world? Could I give others permission to be just as complex?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career point (or one or more personal planets) in 10-16 degrees of Leo, Aries, or Sagittarius? If so, you will be most blessed by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo (as the Sun rules Leo).
Thursday, Aug. 5th:
Thursday, the Moon remains in protective, nurturing Cancer all day (see Wednesday early evening for details).
Thursday early afternoon, we are asked to make some inner adjustments, as we may experience some internal discomfort. Personal comfort and safety is important for the Moon in Cancer, yet Saturn in Aquarius reminds us that staying attached to the past is not going to lead to new creations, or bring forth new visions for the future. (Moon in Cancer quincunxes Saturn in Aquarius, exact at 12:52pm EDT)
Thursday evening, we are invited to make adjustments and (as best as we can) find creative solutions to seemingly insoluble situations. Make space both for healing around anger or self-identity and for taking care of emotional or family issues. (Moon in Cancer squares Chiron in Aries, exact at 6:22pm EDT)
Thursday late evening, brings an opportunity to connect to family (or friends that feel like family) and create breakthroughs around things that we enjoy through our five senses (e.g. food). This may also be a good time to find a unique or global approach on financial matters that bring us a sense of emotional security. (Moon in Cancer sextiles Uranus in Taurus, exact at 10:12pm EDT)
Also on Thursday, Uranus starts to slow down (station). It will come to a halt in almost 15º of Taurus (on Aug. 19th — starting its yearly 5-month Retrograde phase). Uranus will move more slowly for almost four weeks between now and Sept. 2nd, anything connected to its energy will come into our awareness quite strongly: We have to face what this planet is trying to communicate to us.
To see how this impacts your personal chart, watch my latest webinar: “Uranus in Taurus Exalted, August 2021”. I highly recommend this! Click here for more info or to purchase. Current Star Members, already received the mp4-video recording of this webinar. Please check your email 😉
Uranus’s themes: breaking away from traditional structures, moving towards a new future that serves others as well as ourselves — and we can confidently expect the unexpected. Inner and outer freedoms will move to the forefront of discussions. We might have flashes of insight or new ideas about what needs to change in our lives.
Uranus also rules electronics, technology and the internet, so don’t be surprised if you experience some interruptions or short-term failures in these areas. Group activities are also ruled by Uranus, so these will also be more at the forefront of our awareness.
As best as you can, take a closer look at whatever is “in your face” for the next 4 weeks. Our intuitions will be very strong during this time and we have access to sudden insights and ideas. This gives us the opportunity to take a look to see how free we actually feel.
What might this be for you? Where do you feel the desire to break free?If “Freedom” were an important value for you, how might it show up in your life?Where have you denied yourself permission to be free? Unique? Simply yourself?
With this much erratic energy moving through us, we are best off honoring this movement, and “shaking it out”.
Rather than expecting everyone’s values to be the same, it will serve us now to focus on aligning our own unique visions and desires with certain partnerships, creating deeper, more trusting connections wherever we can.
This also provides an opportunity to look at how free we truly feel within our financial partnerships and intimate relationships. Are you expressing your individuality to the fullest in those partnerships? Are you connecting to a larger vision? Is anything holding you back? What are you more aware of in connection with your unique visions, values, and financial freedoms?
As best as you can, stay open and flexible, go with the flow — and pay attention to those messages from the Universe 😉
Is your Sun-sign or Ascendant in Aquarius? Or perhaps you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 12-17 degrees of Taurus, Scorpio, Aquarius or Leo? If so, you are more affected by this station.
Friday, Aug. 6th:
Friday, the Moon remains in protective, nurturing Cancer all day (see Wednesday early evening for details).
Friday at 6:12pm EDT, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that lasts for a little over 9 hours until 3:31am EDT (Saturday very early morning). Use this intuitive time to remain flexible and practice self-care — take good care of your emotional and physical body that way, you’ll remain able to empower yourself and others.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Friday evening until Saturday very early morning ahead of time.
Friday evening, a challenging Sun/Uranus aspect becomes exact at 7:57pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Tuesday evening on; and it will remain strong until next week Monday (Aug 9th). This aspect asks us to stretch a little. We can’t expect much of anything this week…
Routines and plans — especially those connected with creative endeavors, children, romance, parties or sporting events — are quite likely to experience disruption, calling for flexibility and creative solutions. Expect the unexpected!
During this transit, we feel a great need to make progress, as we feel quite restless — maybe even anxious — but if we’re unclear on what is in our best interest, we might focus on things that don’t serve us in the long run.
As best as you can, go with the flow and stay open to experiencing something new and wonderfully unexpected; if you can, put off making major decisions for the time being… “haste makes waste” during this aspect 😉
You can think of this as “reorganizing” time — like rearranging your furniture — try not to resist the reorganization. Enjoy the ride… and remember: it only feels uncomfortable because it’s new and different. Could you allow yourself to be comfortable with being uncomfortable?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 12-18 degrees of Leo, Taurus, Leo, or Scorpio? If so, you will feel this aspect quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aquarius or Leo (the Sun rules Leo; Uranus rules Aquarius).
Saturday, Aug. 7th:
Saturday, the Moon remains in protective, nurturing Cancer and VoC until 3:31am EDT (see Wednesday early evening and Friday evening for details).
Saturday at 3:31am EDT, the Moon moves into fun and attention-loving Leo, where it will journey until next week, Monday morning. We may lack objectivity and struggle with backing down or compromising. We all love to be admired — or at the very least acknowledged — for our greatness 🙂
So hand out some compliments — let people know how proud you are of them, tell them how much you love them. Come from the heart in this and all other things… be honest and authentic, as best you can. Fun, games and romance are a big part of this energy as well. You might also enjoy spending time with little ones.
If there are no “outer children” around, how about getting in touch with your “inner child” — it’s definitely easier for the next two-and-a-half days. What are you most grateful for today? What would be heaps and heaps of fun? What would be so much fun, you let out a tiny squeak, just thinking of it?
Saturday late evening, a somewhat challenging Mercury/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 10:24pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Friday late evening on; and it will remain strong until Sunday late evening. This could contribute either to some mental confusion and spaciness, or the need to communicate with others from our imagination (but possibly not knowing how to achieve that).
This aspect operates more on an internal level: We feel uneasy about something, sort of “awkward” — and we need to make a choice. Sometimes, imagination and mind can run way ahead of what is actually feasible (and sensible). At these times, the grand vision is best served by focusing on the next concrete step, accepting our own idiosyncrasies as we go.
Honesty is crucial here, especially self-honesty; inner awareness is in turn crucial to deep honesty and authenticity. What’s true for you? What might be possible for humanity? Where do those overlap?
Note that I say “overlap”: Don’t look for an exact fit, this is more like two puzzle pieces that came from different jigsaw puzzles. You might keep looking at the imperfect fit and feel a nagging sense that something doesn’t make sense… and it doesn’t — it can’t. The pieces are not from the same game. Just do your best to “hang out” with the discomfort, rather than repeatedly trying to figure it out and fix it.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 22-24 degrees of Leo or Pisces? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Pisces (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Neptune rules Pisces).
Sunday, Aug. 8th:
Sunday, the Moon remains in fun and attention-loving Leo all day (see Saturday very early morning for details).
Sunday at 9:50am EDT, the Moon aligns with the Sun in 16 degrees of Leo — in other words, the New Moon will be exact (I recommend you also watch my New Moon video on the subject).
There are several planets that have importance in this New Moon chart: Mercury in Leo, Uranus in Taurus, Saturn in Aquarius, Chiron in Aries, and Mars in Virgo.
Mercury aligns with the New Moon in Leo, making mental engagement an important part of our process for the next 28 days. Mercury also makes several other aspects in this New Moon chart (including a “Yod”), making it especially important for this Lunation.
Uranus is not only exalted in this New Moon chart, it is also once again the Focus point of a T-Square… But more about all of that in a moment; first let’s talk about the New Moon energies:
The New Moon in fun-loving, extroverted, expressive Leo has us looking for heartfelt experiences. It’s important for us to express ourselves, to learn about love — and in particular, to learn about how those things work together to help us create from the heart and from a place of joy.
Think about the keywords for this self-expressed fire sign: “proud, generous, hospitable, caring, warm, authoritative, active, open, fun-loving”… How could you live into those words?
Leo is ruled by the Sun, symbol of consciousness and the unique light we came to shine in this lifetime — this is what we were born to explore and express — so ask yourself: Where could I shine my unique light more brightly? What brings me joy? Not just in general… but in this very moment?
Leo also represents our creativity: there are as many ways to be creative and self-expressed as there are “selves” — indeed, we are all creators — we create with every thought, word, and action.
As I already started to talk about earlier, Mercury closely aligns with the New Moon in Leo, and this encourages us to be more aware of … To read the whole New Moon article and get access to all the Coaching questions, click here.
Do you have your Ascendant (or any personal planets) in 14-18 degrees of Leo, Aquarius, Taurus or Scorpio? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).
The New Moon is also the best time to set some powerful intentions for this month’s Moon cycle. Intentions are best done soon after the New Moon becomes exact — and definitely not during a Moon void of course phase.
That means the best time to set intentions this month would be between 9:50am, Sunday, Aug. 8th, and 9:50am on Tuesday, Aug. 10th. The only exception is the roughly 2.5 hours on Monday, Aug. 9th, between 8:23am and 10:56am — during that time, the Moon will be Void of Course, which (as noted above) is never a good time to set Intentions. As always, all times are in EDT — the New York timezone.
If you live outside the EDT timezone, and converting time zones isn’t your thing, I suggest joining my Facebook Fanpage and/or following me on Twitter. I will be posting reminders on both platforms on Aug. 8th, 9th, and 10th, to let you know when is the best time to set your intentions 😉
For more info about Setting Intentions, click here.
And…
A heads up for next Monday (Aug. 9th), The Moon remains in fun and attention-loving Leo until 10:56am EDT; at which time it moves into detail-oriented, practical Virgo, where it will remain until Wednesday afternoon. In the very early morning, a somewhat challenging Mercury/Pluto aspect becomes exact at 3:03am EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Sunday early morning (Aug 8th) on; and it will remain strong until Tuesday early morning (Aug. 10th). At 8:23am EDT, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that lasts for 2.5 hours until 10:56am EDT. In the evening, a Venus/Neptune opposition becomes exact at 8:20pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from last week Saturday morning (Aug 7th) on; and it will remain strong until Thursday morning (Aug. 12th). More about all the details in next week’s forecast : )
