Focusing on Practical Matters
This week’s headline items: Mars changes signs from Scorpio to Sagittarius on Monday early morning, and Mercury changes signs from Sagittarius to Capricorn on Monday afternoon; Venus’ station intensifies on Wednesday; Neptune resumes its normal pace on Friday; the Full Moon in Gemini becomes exact on Saturday late evening; Venus comes to a halt on Sunday early morning — starting her 6-week Retrograde phase; finally, Chiron comes to a halt on Sunday late morning, ending its 5-month Retrograde phase.
There will be three Moon VoC phases this week: Monday late evening (for almost 5.5 hours); Thursday late morning (for 4.5 hours); and Saturday night/Sunday very early morning (for a little over 3.5 hours).
Before we get to this week’s forecast, I’d like to mention:

Now, this week’s Forecast…
Monday, December 13th:
Monday, the Moon remains in pioneering, fast-paced Aries all day. It will journey there until Tuesday early morning. Life is an adventure, we’re more open to new ideas, and have great enthusiasm for new projects. Patience is certainly not our strong suit at this time, but we can decide quickly, and act immediately.
Our independence and dynamism are important to us right now, so we may find it hard to be disciplined or accept advice at this time; in general, our responses to others tend to be more assertive or even aggressive. If you find your foot tapping, try hitting the gym, or finding other ways to burn off the body’s excess energy.
Monday early morning, at 4:53am EST, Mars changes signs from passionate Scorpio to adventurous Sagittarius, where it will journey until Jan. 24th, 2022. With this placement, we are going to feel a little restless, maybe even impatient at times — we want to explore. This is a great time to get into sports or some athletic activity. We have so many ideas and interests that we can’t just stick to one thing right now, so we may have several projects running at the same time.
It’s a time when we prefer to improvise and just wing it. That makes it more fun and brings a sense of adventure to our day. We also like to have some good debates with others, persuading them to share our beliefs. It’s not the best time to get too serious about life, as we prefer to feel free-flowing and excited about new things — especially when we can learn something new 😉
If you have an Aries Sun-sign or Rising-sign, you are going to feel more adventurous and probably more impatient. You may want to explore new sports or physical activities. If you are a Sagittarius Sun-sign or Rising sign, you will feel quite energized for the next 6 weeks. Channeling this energy into physical exercise or a project might be advisable.
Monday early afternoon, at 12:52pm EST, Mercury changes signs from optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius to practical, accomplishment-oriented, status-oriented Capricorn, where it will journey until Jan. 2nd, 2022.
This is a time when our minds like to make concrete plans for the future. A systematic, practical approach to reaching our goals is now favored; we are good at focusing on practical matters and getting down to the essentials.
We do not waste any words at this time — what we say is truthful and to the point. We see reality very clearly now — and it might not look as rosy as we thought. As best as you can, use this time to get in touch with what’s real in your life — without going down the “rabbit hole” of pessimistic inadequacy 😉
Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini or Virgo? If so, you will be more serious and possibly more eager to accomplish concrete goals. Do you have your Ascendent or Sun-sign in Capricorn? If so, you will most likely feel more chatty for the next 3 weeks.
Monday late evening, at 9:52pm EST, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that lasts for almost 5.5 hours, until 3:11am EST (Tuesday morning). Use this intuitive time as an opportunity to connect with like-minded people and move a project forward that serves your community. It’s time for a new perspective: What new vantage point could we take? What needs to be considered, so we can move forward faster?
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Monday late evening until Tuesday very early morning ahead of time.

Tuesday at 3:11am EST, the Moon moves into steady, peaceful Taurus, where it will journey until Thursday afternoon. We love all physical comforts, prefer consistency, and would rather stick with what we know works well. In other words: change is not our favorite thing and “rushing things” goes against our grain.
What is our favorite thing for the next two days? It’s probably slowing down and getting in touch with whatever delights our senses 😉
Tuesday morning is a great time to share about earthly issues and support each other in practical ways. (Moon in Taurus trines Mercury in Capricorn, exact at 5:20am EST)
Tuesday late evening, we may need to make some adjustments between two needs that are seemingly at odds. On the one hand, we need to experience peace and physical pleasure; on the other, we need to take some time to focus on our visions for the future and see what’s realistic and sustainable for us in our various communities or networks. (Moon in Taurus squares Saturn in Aquarius, exact at 11:36pm EST)
Wednesday, Dec. 15th:
Wednesday, the Moon remains in steady, peaceful Taurus all day (see Tuesday very early morning for details).
Wednesday very early morning, we are asked to connect with people with similar values who can provide practical support for our visions, and share with them what is important to us. (Moon in Taurus conjuncts Uranus in Taurus, exact at 1:51am EST)
Wednesday evening, we have an opportunity to meet our need for material comfort with a gentler, more intuitive approach. (Moon in Taurus sextiles Neptune in Pisces, exact at 8:21pm EST)
Also, on Wednesday, the Venus Station intensifies, as the planet slows down further. Venus is preparing to come to halt on Sunday (Dec. 19th) — starting her 6-week Retrograde phase. During this intensified station, we feel Venus’s energies even more strongly. It brings all relationship, self-worth, and financial issues to the forefront.
This intensified stationing period lasts until Dec. 24th, bringing into focus what we have (or haven’t) accomplished out there in the world; we are similarly more aware of our business partnerships or the lack thereof. This station forces us to look at who we value (including ourselves) and what is truly important to us in our financial or long-term business relationships.
It’s important to pay attention to any messages we get during the Station phase, because when Venus goes retrograde (on Dec. 19th – Jan. 29th), we’ll get a chance to address these issues from the inside out.
Ask yourself: Am I experiencing a lack of connection with others? What demands my attention when it comes to my long-term goals? Where do I need to look carefully at my ability to be realistic about what works, and what doesn’t, over the long term?
Since Pluto will be conjunct Venus at this time as well, you may also want to ask yourself: What fears or concerns are showing up for me? In what ways am I trying to protect myself from re-experiencing past pains or traumas in connection to my achievements or being successful out there in the world?
Could I give myself permission to simply observe what comes up? What if I kept my heart open, and my mind focused on what I actually have influence over, as best as I can manage?
We will address the Venus Station & Retrograde phases in more detail in this week’s Forecasting Forum (live Friday, Dec.17th)… And if you would like to find out how this might impact you personally, join us!

Is your Sun sign or Ascendant in Taurus or Libra? Or do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 24-29 degrees of Capricorn, Aries, Cancer, or Libra? If so, you will feel a stronger connection to this Venus station.
Thursday, Dec. 16th:
Thursday, the Moon remains in steady, peaceful Taurus until 3:43pm EST (see Tuesday very early morning for details).

Thursday late morning, at 11:08am EST, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that lasts for 4.5 hours until 3:43pm EST. Use this intuitive time to, on the one hand, satisfy your need for peace and physical comfort — and on the other, for a new understanding of your future visions — it’s important to explore what it could mean for humanity. You may need to make some adjustments between these two needs that are seemingly at odds.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Thursday late morning until afternoon ahead of time.
Thursday, at 3:43pm EST, the Moon moves into chatty, versatile Gemini, where it will journey until Sunday early morning. For the next 2.5 days, we like to learn, connect and interact as much as possible. “Busy” feels good: connecting online, on the phone, or sharing face-to-face, preferably multi-tasking all the way…
The one thing we can do without is boredom: If our mind is not engaged in some way, we might as well curl up and play dead 🙂 As best as you can, be patient with yourself and others.
Friday, Dec. 17th:
Friday, the Moon remains in chatty, versatile Gemini all day (see Thursday afternoon for details).

Friday early morning: we experience a need for inner adjustments. We feel uneasy or awkward and need to make a choice. Making this choice demands we develop inner awareness around two very different urges: on the one hand, we want to connect on a realistic level and share about long-term goals with others, or how we can overcome obstacles in our lives — and on the other hand, we feel a need to be curious, in constant movement, and gathering or exchanging information/data, as much as possible. (Moon in Gemini quincunxes Mercury in Capricorn, exact at 3:14am EST)
Friday morning: consider connecting with others, socializing, and taking a compassionate approach toward yourself and others, especially when it comes to personal goals and passions. Ask yourself: what if taking a compassionate approach towards myself and others actually made for more fulfilling connections? (Moon in Gemini sextiles Chiron in Aries, exact at 8:53am EST)
Friday early afternoon: we sense harmonious connections even though we are focused on making progress. Where our vision for the future is concerned, we are invited to bring a new level of authenticity, and make realistic choices around connecting with others. (Moon in Gemini trines Saturn in Aquarius, exact at 12:57pm EST)
Also, on Friday, Neptune resumes its normal pace through the sky, after its 5-month Retrograde phase — it is finally ending its Station phase in Pisces. What has come up in the last four weeks around resting, trusting, and allowing? How closely are you in touch with your intuition? Is there a dream that you would like to fulfill now?
Saturday, Dec. 18th:
Saturday, the Moon remains in chatty, versatile Gemini all day (see Thursday afternoon for details).
Saturday evening, a challenging Mercury/Chiron aspect becomes exact at 9:35pm EST. We started to feel this aspect build from Friday early morning on, and it will remain strong until next week, Monday evening (Dec. 20th). This combination might bring up some insecurities in our verbal, in-person, or email interactions.
That said, this could also be an opportunity for healing; we are energized to move past harsh criticism of ourselves or others, towards more loving and compassionate structures for thinking and communicating. As best as you can, stretch yourself — and be open to bringing love and understanding to it all (and that includes you) 🙂
We are invited to keep in mind that, as humans, we experience pain, shame, and separation, but can heal through the unconditional love and self-acceptance of the spirit-human alliance. In other words, through compassion!
Ask yourself: Where am I “reacting” versus responding to my circumstances? How might impatience contribute to this? Could I bring an open and compassionate awareness to this?
What might be possible if I was willing to just “be with” my insecurities and “sensitivities” or past wounding without trying to fix them? What if my attempts to fix them were the very thing keeping me from seeing the divine perfection of it all?
What would I be able to contribute to the world if I embraced my own humanity just 5% more?

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point, or any personal planets in 5-12 degrees of Capricorn, Aries, Cancer, or Libra? If so, you are more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini or Virgo (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo).
Also, on Saturday at 11:36pm EST, the Full Moon in 27.5º of Gemini becomes exact; the entrance of the Moon into Gemini Thursday afternoon (Dec. 16th) started the energetic build-up towards this Full Moon. The Moon in chatty, versatile Gemini opposes the Sun in optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius. if you’d like to learn more about this Lunation, check out my video on the subject 🙂
Since the last Lunation was a powerful Solar Eclipse, we are still in Eclipse season until the next New Moon on Jan. 2nd, 2022. This means that, until then, we continue to integrate our evolutionary downloads and consciousness upgrades. We might feel more tired or even exhausted because of those inner processes.
Even though the current Moon Nodes remain in Gemini-Sagittarius until January 18, 2022, this Full Moon is no longer a Lunar Eclipse, because the Moon Nodes are too far away (in degrees) from the Moon and the Sun.
Having the Moon Nodes in Gemini-Sagittarius (since May 2020) and the current Full Moon occurring in those same signs intensifies the quest to find a balance between those two polarities.
Feel free to also check out my webinar in connection with those Moon Nodes (if you haven’t seen it yet), to get a more specific take on how this might be impacting you personally.
You can ask yourself over the next two weeks: What have I learned about the difference between observation and opinion since May of 2020? What do I now know about the difference between fact and interpretation? Or perception vs. understanding?
On May 26th, 2021 there was a Lunar Eclipse at 5.5º Sagittarius-Gemini. This Full Moon at 27.5º Gemini-Sagittarius highlights these two signs once again.
This current Lunar cycle will continue a conversation that started back in late May around our beliefs and attitudes towards government and how we meet challenges that are coming up as a collective.
You can ask yourself here: Could I take responsibility for my part in that conversation and the stories to which I am attached? Am I willing to participate in that conversation in a mature way? Am I hiding behind old beliefs and social conditioning?
Am I able to acknowledge my limitations and shortcomings without making others wrong? Am I willing to approach this unique collective situation with a curious mind and an open heart?
Whenever a planet changes direction, or squares the Moon Nodes, its archetypal significance is intensified — in other words, the planet’s energies become exalted.
This current Full Moon has two highly exalted planets: Venus in Capricorn & Chiron in Aries (both planets changing directions within 12 hours of the Full Moon becoming exact); Jupiter squares the Moon Nodes (therefore Jupiter is even more significant than just being the ruler of Sagittarius); Neptune in Pisces just ended its station the day before the Full Moon becomes exact, and squares the Full Moon polarity in Gemini-Sagittarius.
There are several other important aspects in this Full Moon chart and I will go into all of them in detail in a moment — but first, let’s address the Gemini-Sagittarius polarities:
Full Moons illuminate the higher/lighter vibration as well as the denser Shadow side of each sign. As our collective consciousness continues to awaken, what’s been in the shadows comes to the forefront more and more, so we can see it more clearly and deal with it on a conscious level.
The lighter side of Gemini is all about… to read the whole Full Moon article and get access to all the Coaching Questions in writing, click here.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in the following placements: 25-29 degrees of Gemini, Sagittarius, Virgo, Pisces, or 0 degrees of Cancer, Capricorn, Libra, or Aries? If so, you are more affected by this month’s Full Moon. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo, the Moon rules Cancer)
Saturday night/Sunday very early morning, at 1:02am EST, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that lasts for a little over 3.5 hours until 4:42am EST (Sunday early morning). Use this intuitive time to connect with like-minded people, expand each other’s minds, and share information that allows us to see the bigger picture.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Sunday from very early morning until early morning ahead of time.
Sunday, Dec. 19th:
Sunday, the Moon remains chatty, versatile Gemini and VoC until 4:42am EST (see Thursday afternoon for details).
Sunday early morning, at 4:42am EST, the Moon moves into protective, nurturing Cancer, where it will journey until next week, Tuesday late afternoon (Dec. 21st). With this Moon placement, we are more sensitive to what people say and therefore our feelings are more easily hurt — so be kind to yourself and others. Self-Care is key for the next two days 😉
Emotional safety is important to us as well; we like connecting to the familiar and we enjoy nurturing ourselves and others — home and family call to us, for instance. Make sure though, that your glass is filled before letting others drink from it, or you might start to feel drained and resentful.
Sunday morning, at 5:36am EDT, Venus comes to a halt in 26.5 degrees of Capricorn and starts her 6-week retrograde phase, which lasts until Jan. 29th, 2022. This brings any relationship, self-worth, and financial issues to the forefront — and we’re ready to take a close look at those things from the inside out. It also brings a tremendous amount of awareness to what we value and how we relate to others and ourselves.
We are more eager to connect on a practical level, and want to get ahead out there in the world, but may feel unable to do so. We are also likely more aware of our accomplishments and business relationships (or the lack thereof).
Pay attention to what’s “in your face” right now: What’s important to me? Where do I over-value something? Where do I feel undervalued? What are my career aspirations telling me? What needs to be brought back into balance in my life? What roles do self-responsibility and self-mastery play in all of this?
Venus will be moving slower (stationing) until Dec. 30th. Until then, we can expect our focus to be drawn to what we have, and what we lack; this is especially true of long-term goals in general, and more specifically, our current financial reality, business relationships, relationship to government or authority figures, and anywhere we feel a desire to do better long-term or gain status in society.
As best as you can, look and listen, and take it all in.
During the next 6 weeks, we are being asked to reevaluate our long-term goals and relationship to our “worthiness” within society. This is a great time for resolving financial or relationship issues: We are going to get the chance to take a real good look at what we value in others, within ourselves, and in our world.
Use the Venus Retrograde phase to align the inner and outer world. Here are some questions you can use for the entire retrograde: Do I value my relationship with myself? Could I take that to the next level? Do my commitments (whether external or internal) align with my values? How about the reality of my finances?
Am I able to set healthy boundaries in my various relationships? What is my relationship to “commitments”, “responsibility”, or “self-mastery”?
If would like to learn how Venus’ 6-week Retrograde phase in Capricorn is going to impact you personally…, feel free to get the mp4-video presentation about “Venus Retrograde Dec-Jan. 2021/22” — and see how it relates to your own Birth Chart… To purchase this webinar, click here (after Dec. 17th)
Is your Sun sign or Ascendant in Taurus or Libra? Or do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 10-28 degrees of Capricorn, Cancer, Aries, or Libra? If so, you will feel more affected by this Venus Retrograde phase.
Sunday late morning, at 11:33am EST, after a 5-month Retrograde, Chiron comes to a halt (in order to turn direct) in almost 8.5 degrees of Aries. Chiron is the wounded healer; in Aries, it brings our attention towards our physical and sexual wounds, as well as wounding around our self-identity and the masculine energies. As best as you can, watch out for any triggers that are connected to your past.
Chiron represents our inner insecurities, those self-conscious and wounded places. Chiron also represents the inner wound of abandonment and our need to “make it on our own”.
We are invited to approach these wounds on a holistic level, to heal them such that others are healed thereby. This is accomplished very simply and naturally when we work with the true beauty and strength of this energy: Compassion. Having compassion for our own wounds heals them and allows healing compassion for the wounds we now see in others.
What physical or sexual wounding could you now acknowledge? Where are your insecurities around personal goals or being a leader in your own unique way? What needs your compassion or even your love? What needs to heal?
For those of you who want to have a better understanding of your personal healing journey, feel free to get the mp3-recording of my Chiron workshop: “Healing with Astrology” Click here for more info. Please keep in mind that as a Member of my online community you have FREE access to this workshop via your Member’s account (click on the “My Courses”- tab)
Some of us will feel the effects of this station more than others: Do you have your Ascendant, your Career point, or any of your personal planets in 6-11 degrees of Aries, Libra, Cancer, or Capricorn? If you do, you may need to take any physical or personal wounds under the magnifying glass. Take a closer look at how you can bring compassion and understanding to those wounds/insecurities.
Sunday evening, an opportune Sun/Jupiter aspect becomes exact at 7:32pm EST. We started to feel this aspect build from Friday evening on, and it will remain strong until next week, Tuesday evening (Dec. 21st).
We might want to take advantage of the opportunities this aspect provides — it’s an excellent time for creating a longer-term vision for humanity (or a group of people we feel affiliated with) — and for simply having fun and boosting our self-confidence. In fact, we may well feel particularly vital and confident — and inner optimism can bring rewards.
Humor can be a big part of this aspect too: We are able to laugh whole-heartedly, and see nothing but possibility in our lives, especially when it comes to exploring our life philosophies, belief systems, and any journeys we are undertaking. Whether these journeys are physical, mental, or spiritual, they could bring about a healthy shift of attitude toward life — this could be true on personal or collective levels.
Imagine you have a special lens that shows you the “bigger picture”: What do your beliefs look like as you gaze through it?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in the following placements: 26-29 degrees of Sagittarius, Aquarius, Aries, Libra, or 0 degrees of Capricorn, Pisces, Taurus, or Scorpio? If so, you will be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Sagittarius (the Sun rules Leo; Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius).
And…
A heads up for next Monday (Dec. 20th): the Moon remains in protective, nurturing Cancer all day. In the afternoon, a harmonious Mercury/Uranus aspect becomes exact at 3:18pm. We started to feel this aspect build from Saturday evening on, and it will remain strong until next week, Wednesday morning (Dec. 23rd). More about all the details in next week’s forecast : )
