Live Out Your Dream
This week’s headline items: on Monday, Mercury starts to slow down (i.e. station) — on Friday, it will come to a halt and begin its 3-week Retrograde phase in Aquarius. Uranus’s Station intensifies on Tuesday.
There will be three Moon VoC phases this week: Monday very early morning (for a little over 7 hours); Wednesday afternoon (for 7.5 hours); and Friday late evening (for almost 14 hours).

Now, this week’s Forecast…
Monday, January 10th:
Monday, the Moon remains in pioneering, fast-paced Aries and VoC until 9:47am EST; at that time the Moon moves into steady, peaceful Taurus, where it will journey until Wednesday evening. We love all physical comforts, prefer consistency, and would rather stick with what we know works well. In other words: change is not our favorite thing and “rushing things” goes against our grain.
What is our favorite thing for the next two days? It’s probably slowing down and getting in touch with whatever delights our senses 😉
Monday late evening, an opportune Sun/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 10:28pm EST. We started to feel this aspect build from last week, Saturday evening (Jan. 8th) on, and it will remain strong until this Wednesday evening. This aspect is an opportunity both to dissolve what no longer serves us, and to connect to our intuition. We definitely feel inspired. It’s also a great time to bring a sense of flow and faith to long-term plans.
Our capacity for compassion (both toward ourselves and others) is quite strong, especially if we are able to acknowledge it. Dreams and reality find a way to work together now — any spiritual or creative endeavors that are started during this time will most likely do very well — and it feels great to donate time or money to favored causes.
Remember that this is an “opportunity” — it isn’t just handed to us, we have to make it happen.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 19-23 degrees of Capricorn, Pisces, Taurus, or Scorpio? If so, you will be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Pisces (the Sun rules Leo; Neptune is the ruler of Pisces).
Also, on Monday: Mercury starts to slow down (“station”) in 9/10º Aquarius, preparing to come to a halt on Jan 14th at 10º of Aquarius (when it will begin its 3-week Retrograde phase). More on that on Friday. This station will last until Jan. 17th, and during this time, we will feel Mercury’s energies more strongly.
For the next 7 days, we need to be patient with ourselves and others — especially if there is a connection with communication or transportation, and their associated technologies. This is not the best time to start anything brand-new, especially if it contains new information that needs to be processed.
We might experience delays or misunderstandings, and things tend to feel “off” or stagnant. It might be a good idea to give yourself some extra time to get ready, or travel somewhere — especially if you intend to use public transportation or drive (For more details on Mercury Shadow Phases and Retrogrades, click here)
Be extra-patient if you intend to buy, sell or ship big-ticket items, especially if they are transportation or communication devices like anything connected with planes, trains, cars, phones, computers, iPads, etc. Best of all (if possible): wait until after Feb. 24th, when the post-Shadow phase is over.
Some of us will feel the effects of the Mercury station more than others: those of us who have Gemini or Virgo as our Sun- or Rising-Sign (Ascendant); and those of us with personal planets in 7-12 degrees of Aquarius, Leo, Taurus, or Scorpio.

Tuesday, Jan. 11th:
Tuesday, the Moon remains in steady, peaceful Taurus all day (see Monday late morning for details).
Tuesday late afternoon, a challenging Mars/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 4:43pm EST. We started to feel this aspect build from last week, Thursday (Jan. 6th) on, and it will remain strong until this week, Saturday evening. This aspect is asking us to stretch ourselves, in order to resolve a tension between the things we want to go after, versus our feelings about a higher, spiritual calling.
We may be chasing a dream… or a fantasy. Ordinary life may seem drab and uninteresting to us right now. We tend to either over- or underestimate our own power and abilities. We want something that stirs our imagination: Some vision or ideal or dream to motivate us.
We have a strong urge to act out our fantasies or live out our dream — and we have the energy now to DO that which others only talk or dream about; however we tend to feel scattered. As best as you can, slow down and listen to your intuition before aimlessly zooming ahead. Inspire yourself and others.
Ask yourself: Where might I be over- or underestimating my abilities and capabilities? What if rushing was not the answer? What if a simpler, quieter approach also supported my desire for exploration and adventure? What if even small actions could produce profound results?
Most impacted by this aspect: those of us who have any of our personal planets (or our Ascendant) in 18-24 degrees of Sagittarius, Pisces, Gemini, or Virgo. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries or Pisces (Mars is the ruler of Aries; Neptune is the ruler of Pisces)
Also, on Tuesday, the Uranus Station intensifies in almost 11 º degrees of Taurus until Jan 25th. It will come to a complete halt on Tuesday (Jan. 18th) in almost 11 degrees of Taurus, ending its 5-month Retrograde phase (more about that next week…).
What we talked about last Thursday still applies: when an outer planet stations, its energy gets more pronounced, sometimes causing discomfort. We are being asked to hang out with that discomfort until the planet’s energy picks up speed again around Jan. 30th (when the station phase has ended).
Definitely expect the unexpected. Uranus is all about breaking away from traditional structures and moving towards a new future — one that serves others as well as ourselves. Its keyword is “Freedom”: this aspect provides an opportunity to discover how free we actually feel. So… how free do you feel? 😉
As best as you can for the next 3 weeks, pull whatever is “in your face” even closer and take a good long look at it: our intuition will be very strong and deliver sudden insights and ideas, especially around what needs to change in our lives.
Are you expressing your individuality to the fullest in your financial partnerships and intimate relationships? Are you connecting to a larger vision? Is anything holding you back? What are you more aware of in connection with your unique visions, values, and financial freedoms?
Uranus also rules electronics, technology and the internet — so don’t be surprised by interruptions or short-term failures in these areas. Group activities are likewise ruled by Uranus, so these will move more to the forefront of awareness.
As best as you can during this aspect, stay open and flexible, go with the flow — and pay attention to messages from the Universe 😉
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 9-13 degrees of Taurus, Scorpio, Leo, or Aquarius? If so, you felt this Station phase quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aquarius (Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius).
Wednesday, Jan. 12th:
Wednesday, the Moon remains in steady, peaceful Taurus until 10:08pm EST (see Monday late morning for details).
Wednesday afternoon, at 2:39pm EST, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that lasts for 7.5 hours, until 10:08pm EST. Use this intuitive time to empower each other in regards to earthly issues and mutually support each other in practical ways.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Wednesday afternoon until Wednesday late evening ahead of time.
Wednesday late evening, at 10:08pm EST, the Moon moves into chatty, versatile Gemini, where it will journey until Saturday late morning. For the next 2.5 days, we like to learn, connect and interact as much as possible. “Busy” feels good: connecting online, on the phone, or sharing face-to-face, preferably multi-tasking all the way…
The one thing we can do without is boredom: If our mind is not engaged in some way, we might as well curl up and play dead 🙂
Thursday, Jan. 13th:
Thursday, the Moon remains in chatty, versatile Gemini all day (see Wednesday late evening for details).
Thursday early morning, we are required to make some adjustments — and may need to do a little stretching and growing when it comes to our inner or emotional understanding of things. As best as you can, be gentle with yourself and others, seek to understand before seeking to be understood. (Moon in Gemini squares Jupiter in Pisces, exact at 4:24am EST)
Thursday afternoon, consider connecting with others, socializing, and taking a compassionate approach toward yourself and others, especially when it comes to personal goals and passions. Ask yourself: what if taking a compassionate approach towards myself and others actually made for more fulfilling connections? (Moon in Gemini sextiles Chiron in Aries, exact at 3:55pm EST)
Thursday evening, we get a chance to connect with like-minded people, and share unique information or something connected to the future. (Moon in Gemini trines Mercury in Aquarius, exact at 7:10pm EST)
Friday, Jan. 14th:
Friday, the Moon remains in chatty, versatile Gemini all day (see Wednesday late evening for details).
Friday morning at 6:41am EST, Mercury comes to a standstill at 10º of Aquarius (starting its 3-week Retrograde phase), slowing things down tremendously from Thursday morning until Saturday evening. Give yourself extra time to go to work or to get things done. If you are traveling today, just simply go with the flow… you’ll get there… eventually 😉 The same is true when it comes to all our technological devices…
This Retrograde phase will last until Feb. 3rd (reaching 24.5º of Capricorn at that time). People worry about Mercury retrogrades, but it’s important not to stop one’s life during these times. As mentioned above, certain things may take longer — but a retrograde gives us a chance to resolve things that have been keeping us from being in alignment with the outer world — especially things that came up within the past three weeks.
Take time to investigate your own thought processes: What feels too busy to you? What if you got really clear about that?
Mercury will remain in Aquarius until Jan. 25th, providing a chance to reconsider connections to like-minded people, groups, and networks (connecting from within to see where we need to make any adjustments); we may even get to reorganize our communities, both in-person and online.
This internal process is a chance to honor and communicate our vision for the future, working from the inside to the outside — ask yourself: What do I need to learn about my affiliations with like-minded people over the next 11 days? What needs to be addressed with regards to any group experiences, humanitarian causes, or technology? If I knew I actually could make a difference, where would I begin?
We also get a chance to explore our inner genius — to connect from within to what’s unique about us.
After Jan. 25th, Mercury retrogrades back into Capricorn one more time, offering us a chance to re-evaluate our long-term goals and aspirations and how we want to show up, out there in the world (within current social structures). Again, this is an internal process — a chance to go within and see what feels most in alignment with our inner core.
This is also an optimal time to catch up on unfinished business, repair what’s not working, and reconnect with people, places, or things that bring us closer to our desired status in the world.
As always: with a Mercury Retrograde phase, always read the small print — and re-read a contract before signing (if you have to sign something) — or ask another person for a second opinion… Basically, during these periods, it’s best to be aware of any details that we might have overlooked… and check in with our intuition… and stay open to the possibility of renegotiation or adjustments, down the line!
In general, Mercury Retrograde is a great time for re-evaluating and re-organizing. This is especially true for our thought patterns and decisions (particularly those made in the 3 weeks prior to the start of the retrograde) — but it’s true of our lives in general: we can reach a clearer understanding as to what works, and what doesn’t, and what needs to change.
Reconnecting with “old” friends, clients, and family members (especially siblings) is also favored at this time …
Mercury also represents our day-to-day mind; this too is experienced more internally at this time. When it comes to communication, make sure that what you say, write and hear is the same as the intended meaning — and use the spell-checker 😉
Another thing to take into consideration: how does each Mercury retrograde phase affect your personal birth chart. Do you have any personal planets that Mercury will align with during its retrograde journey? The houses of your chart each represent different areas of your life — which of the houses in your chart is affected by this retrograde?
If you are familiar with your natal chart — take a look at your natal Mercury, and where Aquarius and Capricorn land in your chart, to see how this might play out for you 😉 If you prefer that I take a look at this for you, feel free to book a 25-minute Soul Purpose Reading with me.
As with any retrograde, some of us will be more affected than others, depending on how it interacts with our personal chart. If you have your Ascendant, Career Point or any personal planets in the following: 0-12 degrees of Aquarius, Leo, Taurus, Scorpio or 23-29 degrees of Capricorn, Cancer, Aries or Libra you will be more affected by this particular retrograde. This is also true for those of us who have a Gemini, or Virgo Sun- or Rising-sign (Mercury rules Gemini and Virgo).
Friday evening, at 9:22pm EST, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that lasts for almost 14 hours, until 11:11am EST (Saturday late morning). Use this intuitive time to balance your desire for sharing and gathering information with your desire to go beyond learned knowledge, and take action to tap into a greater wisdom that helps you grow and expand mentally, physically or spiritually.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Friday evening until Saturday late morning ahead of time.
Saturday, Jan. 15th:
Saturday, the Moon remains in chatty, versatile Gemini and VoC until 11:11am EST (see Wednesday late evening & Friday evening for details).
Remember to take advantage of our BIG 2-WEEK SALE! ==> Until Jan. 23rd, everything will be discounted, and I mean, EVERYTHING! Discount Coupon: EVERYTHING4LESS and my Bonus Gift gets you even deeper discounts: get one month of STAR Membership for free and get an additional 10-15% off!
==> To sign up for the free Star Membership, click here and add coupon: mStar (at check out). Once you have signed up as a Star Member, start shopping and add the discount coupon (EVERYTHING4LESS) to your cart at checkout 😉
Saturday early morning, feels a little uneasy. We need to develop an inner awareness around our two seemingly opposite pulls: on the one hand, a strong desire for accomplishment, on the other, our need to make connections and exchange information.
We are asked to bring awareness to whatever it is we feel most passionate about: Are we after superficial exchanges? Or intense and authentic commitments that further our long-term goals? As best as you can, make adjustments as needed, and drop any self-judgment. (Moon in Gemini quincunxes Pluto in Capricorn, exact at 3:54am EST)
Saturday at 11:11am EST, the Moon moves into protective, nurturing Cancer, where it will journey until Monday late evening. With this Moon placement, we are more sensitive to what people say and therefore our feelings are more easily hurt — so be kind to yourself and others. Self-Care is key for the next two days 😉
Emotional safety is important to us as well; we like connecting to the familiar and we enjoy nurturing ourselves and others — home and family call to us, for instance. Make sure though, that your glass is filled before letting others drink from it, otherwise you might start to feel drained and resentful.
This Moon placement also starts the build-up towards the Full Moon, which will be exact on Monday (Jan. 17th) — more on that next week, but feel free to watch my video on the subject here (after Jan. 12th)
Saturday evening brings a nice feeling of ease and an enhanced ability to connect with others in a gentle way. As best as you can, trust your intuitive sensing, and allow whatever comes up to be beneficial for you. Release anything that feels outdated or stuck in the past. This is also a great time to explore spiritual, intuitive, or creative endeavors, and for lending loving and nurturing support to others. (Moon in Cancer trines Jupiter in Pisces, exact at 6:31pm EST)
Sunday, Jan. 16th:
Sunday, the Moon remains in protective, nurturing Cancer all day (see Saturday late morning for details).
Sunday late morning, a Sun/Pluto alignment in 26.5 degrees of Capricorn becomes exact at 9:51am EST. We started to feel this aspect build from Thursday evening on, and it will remain strong until next week, Wednesday evening (Jan.19th). This alignment asks of us that we reclaim our authority and make some fundamental changes in our world.
Some of the structures that we built in the past may no longer be solid; they must fall now, to be replaced with something that empowers us. It is necessary to redefine feminine and masculine “powers”.
What do you need to acknowledge or embrace? What has been rejected or ignored? If you truly had choice in the matter, what responsibilities or authorizations could you reclaim that you previously handed over to others?
Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in the following placements: 23-29 degrees of Capricorn, Cancer, Aries or Libra or 0 degrees of Aquarius, Taurus, Leo or Scorpio? If so, you may be more affected by this alignment. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Scorpio (the Sun is the ruler of Leo; Pluto rules Scorpio).
And…
A heads up for next Monday (Jan. 17th): the Moon remains in protective, nurturing Cancer until 11:03pm EST; at which time, the Moon moves into fun and attention-loving Leo, where it will journey until next week, Thursday morning. At 6:48pm EST, we enter Moon VoC that will last for a little over 4 hours, until 11:03pm EST. Also, the Full Moon in Cancer becomes exact at 6:48pm EST; and Mercury resumes its normal pace, ending its station, now retrograde. More about all the details in next week’s forecast : )
