Now, this weekâs ForecastâŠ
Monday, Jan. 11th:
Monday, the Moon remains in optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius and VoC until 8:30am EST; at that time, the Moon moves into ambitious, goal-oriented Capricorn. It will journey there until Wednesday late morning/early afternoon. We tend to be more realistic, serious, cautious; this can support practical endeavors and financial matters.
Our ambition surges and brings with it a need for structure and planning; when you add in the pragmatism this aspect supports, you can see how this could be a very productive time for business and long-term goals. Our reputation becomes very important to us.
As best as you can during this aspect, avoid “should-ing” on yourself. Take the pressure off, perhaps by saying “I am doing the best I can and that’s all I can ever do” đ
Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn — and it will be transiting through Aquarius, making this a great time to take a look at our visions for humanity, and at anything we would like to accomplish long-term within our communities (locally or online).
It’s also a great time to take a more serious look at our various networks and connections to like-minded people;Â as best as you can, be authentic about your affiliations: Do they truly resonate with your personal vision for the future — as it stands now, rather than what it was 5 or 10 years ago?
Does participation in those groups or networks align with who you are now, and with where you see yourself 5 years from now? What do you truly want to commit yourself to? This Moon placement also starts the build up towards the New Moon (exact Tuesday night/Wednesday very early morning).
Monday early afternoon, a Mercury/Jupiter alignment in almost 5 degrees of Aquarius becomes exact at 12:19pm EST. We started to feel this aspect from last week, Saturday (Jan. 9th) on; it will remain strong until this Wednesday evening (Jan. 13th). This alignment brings optimism and a tendency to talk and think more. It favors exploring our visions for the future, submitting applications and forms, and test-taking.
We can more readily exercise good judgment, be more philosophical in our thinking, and bring wholeness and order to our communities and connections with like-minded people. There is a sense of mental expansion —Â we see our vision for humanity (or particular group causes) as a source of adventure and personal growth.
We are optimistic and enthusiastic, and things tend to go well as a result — it’s all about thinking big and innovating. What if expanding our concept of group consciousness, the collective, and “one for all and all for one” helped us be more peaceful and calm? What if that in turn helped us manifest our desires?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 2-8 degrees of Aquarius, Leo, Taurus, or Scorpio? If so, you will feel this alignment quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo, or Sagittarius (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo, so those folks will always be affected more strongly by Mercury’s movements and aspects; Jupiter rules Sagittarius)Â
Also, Monday early afternoon, an opportune Mercury/Chiron aspect becomes exact at 12:23pm EST. We started to feel this aspect from last week Sunday (Jan. 10th) on; it will remain strong until Tuesday evening (Jan. 12th). We have an opportunity to bring healing energy to our concrete mind and to our thoughts. We also have a chance to heal insecurities in our verbal, in-person, social media or email interactions.
We are better able now to tune out that automatic/critical inner voice, in favor of more loving and compassionate structures for thinking and communicating. By bringing love and understanding to our thinking processes, we have a chance to move beyond entrenched habits, like “impatient self-talk”, or the use of aggressive language (swear words for example).
Hereâs a few good âchew toysâ for your mind at this time: What was your family’s attitude towards communication? Toward speaking up for yourself? What if you tried a kinder approach for a bit? Does your inner dialog really have to repeat what they said when you were 3 or 5 years old? What if you tried using a gentler voice for the next ten minutes or so?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 3-7 degrees of Aquarius, Aries, Gemini, or Sagittarius? If so, you may be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini or Virgo (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo).
And last but not least, Monday early afternoon, a long-term, opportune Jupiter/Chiron aspect becomes exact at 12:48pm EST. We started to feel this aspect from Jan. 1st on; it will remain strong until next week Wednesday evening (Jan. 20th). It’s an opportunity to bring healing to wounds around social conditioning or our belief systems.
We get a chance to grow and heal insecurities around being “too different”, or around what we believe to be true about ourselves and others; this healing happens much faster when we can open to forgiving ourselves and others. As best as you can, bring compassion and understanding to yourself, to others, and to those past experiences that wounded you.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 3-7 degrees of Aquarius, Aries, Gemini, or Sagittarius? If so, you will be…

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 3-7 degrees of Aquarius, Aries, Gemini, or Sagittarius? If so, you will be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Sagittarius (Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius).
Tuesday, Jan. 12th:
Tuesday is a big day (astrologically speaking). The Moon remains in ambitious, goal-oriented Capricorn all day (see Monday morning for details).
Tuesday late morning, a challenging Mercury/Uranus aspect becomes exact at 10:00am EST. We started to feel this aspect build from Monday early morning on; and it will remain strong until Thursday. This aspect creates some tension in our lives; we may feel anxious or stressed by a situation involving financial stability, group affiliations, or long-term visions.
We’ll likely want to think outside the box. We may also want to make some changes to a life situation or vision that no longer fits. Again: We are being called to play a bigger game and may feel overwhelmed by what it all means.
Our minds may prefer things to be ideal — cool and calm, detached and rational — but at the same time we feel a great desire for progress and even breakthroughs around our finances or our physical experience of life. The tension between these two desires could leave us feeling irritable, mainly because we also tend to take things quite personally right now; the best way to manage this is to channel some of that nervous irritable energy into constructive pursuits.
Since there’s a tendency right now to challenge established thought, or play devil’s advocate, it also helps to get in touch with our inner truth. Use your breath to turn any fear into excitement — and let yourself visualize a bigger dream.
Expect the unexpected, plan on disruption, revelation and breakthroughs — during this transit, the best mind is an open mind. As best as you can, go with the flow, staying open to the new and unexpectedly different. Could you allow whatever is happening to stimulate new approaches?
As you can perhaps imagine, this is not a time to make major decisions, especially if they are hasty đ You can think of this as “reorganizing” time for the mind, like moving your furniture around. If you feel yourself resisting the reshuffle, do your best to relax — and maybe even sit back and enjoy the show.
And as always, if all else fails, take it one moment at a time… Rather than jumping to conclusions, get grounded in the here and now â bringing awareness to your breath (or body) is a good way to do this.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 4-10 degrees of Aquarius, Taurus, Leo, or Scorpio? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo, or Aquarius (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; and Uranus rules Aquarius).
Tuesday afternoon, a challenging Venus/Chiron aspect becomes exact at 4:04pm EST. We started to feel this aspect from last week Saturday evening (Jan.9th) on; it will be strong until Thursday afternoon. This aspect asks us to stretch past injuries and insecurities in our relationships, self-worth and finances. If we can bring compassion and a different point of view to these issues, we will reach a new understanding of ourselves and our life journey.
We have the opportunity to learn from one another; ironically though, social insecurities can be magnified at this time. Whenever Chiron is involved, we are being asked to do some healing work. As best as you can, use this time to learn about your sore spots. Nobody is perfect: we all have our flaws and idiosyncrasies. It’s ok.
If you get triggered by someone, as best as you can, take it as an opportunity to see where this trigger originated — probably in your childhood. Bring love and compassion to yourself as you are, and as you were. Allow any feelings this may stir up in you. A feeling is just energy that wants to be experienced; it wants to move through us and out.
The more we resist or suppress our feelings, the more we keep them spinning in place. As best as you can, move from the head to the heart. What might change, if you had 5% more compassion with yourself and others? What if you just decided to have faith in the healing process?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 2-8 degrees of Capricorn, Aries, Cancer, or Libra? If so, you are more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus or Libra (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra).
Tuesday night/Wednesday very early morning, at 12:00am EST, the Moon aligns with the Sun in 23 degrees of Capricorn, launching a new Moon cycle. This is a good time to go within, to plant a seed for anything we would like to accomplish over the next 28 days, and maybe even beyond. The next section of this forecast will dig into this in more detail — you may also want to watch my New Moon video đ
This is the first New Moon in Capricorn since Jan. 5th, 2019, that is NOT also a Solar Eclipse. So, what have we learned about taking responsibility over the past two years? What have we come to understand about setting healthy boundaries? What have we realized about our own limitations? Other people’s limitations? How have our priorities shifted? Our goals? What have we learned about integrity? How much is there still to learn?
It is also the first New Moon of the year, and since Capricorn represents the quest for self-mastery on the physical plane, some useful questions you can ask yourself include:Â What is my relationship to self-mastery now, versus in 2018? Am I going about things in a realistic way? Do I respect the laws of matter? What am I willing to undergo to overcome adversity? How committed am I to that?
The highest vibration of Capricorn is self-mastery: the development of responsibility, resourcefulness, reliability, the ability to set realistic goals and healthy boundaries. The next 28 days are a perfect time to work some more on these areas.
As best as you can, prepare for the future, make commitments, and recognize responsibilities — in other words, nurture your dreams in a realistic manner. Focus on setting and achieving practical and attainable long-term goals, one step at a time, one day at a time — this is not about immediate results, it’s about the quality of the foundation you are building.
Capricorn also invites us to set the kind of realistic limits and boundaries that allow everyone involved to learn from the consequences of their choices. Ask yourself: Where in my life am I able to set realistic limits and boundaries? Where am I not? What might I be afraid of when I don’t?
Capricorn relates directly to the level of our maturity. Ask yourself: What would taking 100% responsibility for my life look like? What if I responded to situations in a way that respects and serves all those involved?
Let’s talk about some of the aspects connected to this particular New Moon chart:
This New Moon aligns with Pluto in Capricorn: This conveys an extra-potent message about our perception of physical reality — time and space — and about our relationship to power or to feeling empowered. Ask yourself: If I truly had choice in the matter, what kind of future would I choose to step into? What if I became 5% more aware of my personal power? Where might I have given it away to others? And how might I begin to reclaim it?
Pluto’s involvement could foster an all-or nothing attitude over the next 28 days towards our long-term goals, or our standing in society — in fact, we might become obsessed over those things — and/or it might bring up a fear of “losing control”. It’s important to stay heart-centered and grounded — engage tools or people where possible, to help you let go of your fears and surrender to the Soul power that resides within you.
If you get obsessed about your accomplishments out there in the world, as best as you can, remind yourself to slow down and take breaks. Ask yourself: Am I driven by fear or love/passion? If fear, worry, concerns, etc. are present, could I simply acknowledge that experience?
Close your eyes, and ask yourself: Is what I am afraid of real right now, or is it a projection into the future? If so, could I let go of “wanting” (aka “expecting”) to create this future for myself? Could I choose more powerfully? Could I choose a future that allows me to feel empowered, no matter what the circumstances?
Given that it rules Capricorn, Saturn’s placement in Aquarius plays an important role with this New Moon — and if you’d like to know how Saturn’s journey in Aquarius will impact your personal chart over the next two years, feel free to check out my 90+ minute webinar on the subject, available for purchase on my webinar-page.
As mentioned previously I also have a webinar about the Great Jupiter-Saturn conjunction in Aquarius, that started a new 20-year social-economic cycle, and a 200-year elemental cycle in late Dec. 2020. Again, feel free to go to my webinar page, if you would like to take a look at that!
Saturn conjuncts Jupiter and Mercury in Aquarius. Aquarius focuses our attention on the collective, on respecting the rights, needs, and gifts of all beings. This particular combo reminds us… To read the whole article and get all the Coaching Questions for this month’s New Moon, click here.
Do you have your Ascendant or any personal planets in 21-25 degrees of Capricorn, Cancer, Aries, or Libra? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).
The New Moon is also the best time to set some powerful intentions for this month’s Moon cycle — and the very best time to do this is after the New Moon becomes exact (and definitely not during a Moon void of course).
So this month the two best and most potent times to set intentions would be any time between 12am and 2:22am on Wednesday very early morning (Jan. 13th), or between Wednesday late morning/early afternoon at 11:44am and Thursday early morning at 4:28am (EST/New York-time).
If you live in a timezone other than EST (US East Coast-time), and converting time zones isn’t your thing, I suggest joining my Facebook Fan-page and/or following me on Twitter, as I post reminders when it’s time to set your intentions đ

Wednesday, Jan. 13th:
Wednesday, the Moon remains in ambitious, goal-oriented Capricorn until 11:44am EST (see Monday morning for details).
Wednesday at 2:22am EST, we enter a Moon VoC that will last for almost 9.5 hours, until 11:44am EST. Use this intuitive time to focus on long-term successes. We might get a little obsessed with a project or task — as best as you can, take breaks and don’t forget to practice a little self-care đ
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Wednesday very early morning until the early afternoon ahead of time.
Wednesday morning, a longer-term, challenging Mars/Saturn aspect becomes exact at 6:02am EST. We started to feel this aspect from last week Monday evening (Jan. 4th) on; it will remain strong until next week Wednesday evening (Jan. 20th). We’re asked to stretch and grow beyond what we have previously known ourselves to be; our commitments and responsibilities towards others are calling us to get out of our comfort zone.
Find creative ways to focus both on your dreams for your various online or “real-life” communities and on the fight for your own values and preferences. You may also feel a pull toward enjoyable physical experiences. Allow for a realistic and mature approach, even if life puts up roadblocks, or throws curveballs.
What if you simply knew that you could handle whatever shows up? If that were true, would you stay committed to old structures and affiliations, or commit to a more enjoyable approach to achieving things? Would you rather achieve status in your various communities or connect to nature and enjoy life? What if you could have both? What would that look like? What if you just decided to bring maturity and self-responsibility to the table when dealing with life, no matter what?
Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 0-6 degrees of Taurus, Aquarius, Leo or Scorpio? If so, you may be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries or Capricorn (Mars rules Aries; Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn).
Wednesday at 11:44am EST, the Moon moves into freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius, where it will journey until Friday late afternoon. With this Moon placement, we often feel emotionally detached; when we do connect to our feelings, it’s typically from a cerebral, intellectual place. We need a cause or project that resonates — preferably one where we can connect with like-minded people.
For the next couple of days, we’ll tend to be more eccentric or experimental; future-related issues like politics or education call to us now, as do unusual or even esoteric subjects like Astrology, UFOs… indeed anything from outer space. Our scientific approach to things leans on originality and ingenuity; we definitely love being unconventional.
The increased value we place on personal and emotional independence could make us come off as indifferent or cold in one-on-one interactions. That said, we can still be friendly and kind, provided we aren’t pushed into doing something conventional or unethical.
If you haven’t set your New Moon Intentions yet, Wednesday after 11:44am ESTÂ until Thursday early morning at 4:28am ESTÂ is still time to do so during the most potent time… If you’d like some input on how to do that, check out this article — to (re-)watch my New Moon video: click here
Wednesday evening, a harmonious Venus/Uranus aspect becomes exact at 7:22pm EST. We started to feel this aspect from Monday evening on; it will remain strong until Saturday afternoon. This aspect helps us to embrace all that is new and unusual. We are ready to experiment — but not to commit. We have an offbeat, pleasant attitude and people are more willing to socialize.
This is an especially good time for financial undertakings involving any of the following: technology and the internet; metaphysics; the arts; group activities. We lose our fear of taking risks at this time, this could be a good couple of days for the stock market indexesâŠor at the very least, an unpredictable one đ
Ask yourself: How could I implement revolutionary business or social practices that support my current values and make life tangibly more enjoyable for everyone who interacts with me socially or does business with me?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 4-10 degrees of Capricorn, Taurus, or Virgo? If so, you will be most blessed by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Aquarius (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Uranus rules Aquarius)
Thursday, Jan. 14th:
Thursday, the Moon remains in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius all day (see Wednesday early afternoon for details).
Thursday very early morning, at 3:36am EST, Uranus comes to a halt in almost 7 degrees of Taurus, turning direct again after its 5-month retrograde phase. We’ve had 5 months to re-evaluate certain things: humanitarian goals, group causes, issues around freedom (possibly financial freedom). We’ve also reflected on our vision for the future, and where the obstacles to that vision might lie.
We are now ready to take into the world all that we have learned over the last 5 months, and make some progress. Uranus is the archetype of revolutionary change, daring us to think way, way outside of the box.
Uranus will be back to its usual speed by Jan. 27th; at that point you could say it’s âChange or be changedâ — change is inevitable, so it might as well be change youâve chosen consciously.
We may find that we disagree with other people’s values. We may be restless, even anxious, and therefore feel pressure to act (or react) regarding others — these feelings could also be connected to financial decisions or partnerships.
Note that Uranus also rules electronics, technology and the internet; these may all be influenced by the planet’s slower movement.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 3-10 degrees of Taurus, Scorpio, Leo, or Aquarius?. If so, you felt this Station phase quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aquarius (Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius).
Thursday at 4:28am EST, we enter a Moon VoC that will last for almost 37 hours, until 5:17pm EST (Friday late afternoon). Use this intuitive time to connect with others, and share your vision for the future. Could you permit yourself to get in touch with your unique spark — and communicate your divine genius?
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Thursday early morning until Friday late afternoon ahead of time.
Thursday late morning, a Sun/Pluto alignment in a little over 24.5 degrees of Capricorn becomes exact at 9:19am EST. We started to feel this aspect from last week Sunday afternoon (Jan. 10th) on; it will be strong until this Sunday evening. This alignment asks of us that we reclaim our authority and make some fundamental changes in our world.
Some of the structures that we built in the past may no longer be solid; they must fall now, to be replaced with something that empowers us. It is necessary to redefine feminine and masculine âpowersâ. What do you need to acknowledge or embrace? What is rejected or ignored? If you truly had choice in the matter, what kind of future would you want to step into?
Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 21-28 degrees of Capricorn, Cancer, Aries or Libra? If so, you may be more affected by this alignment. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Scorpio (the Sun is the ruler of Leo; Pluto rules Scorpio)
Friday, Jan. 15th:
Friday, the Moon remains in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius and VoC until 5:17pm EST; at that time, the Moon moves into creative, sensitive Pisces, where it will journey until next week Monday very early morning (Jan. 18th). This Moon placement often finds us more sensitive, intuitive, idealistic and imaginative than normal. We also have a greater capacity for compassion, sympathy, and affection for all — but especially for those who suffer or can be regarded as the underdog.
But… that very idealism could also be our downfall at this time: We tend to see the best in everyone and everything, and when reality doesn’t match our idyllic vision, we might feel upset and even victimized by those harsh realities. A way out of this is to channel our idealism into spiritual or creative endeavors.
It’s also a great time for releasing fears — especially the ones based on a sense of separation — and experiencing “oneness”. Feelings tend to flow more freely; as best as you can, let them — in fact, “going with the flow” is the best way to go for the next couple of days.
Friday, Mercury enters its pre-Shadow phase when it reaches 11Âș 01â of Aquarius;Â this is 2 weeks prior to its Retrograde phase (which starts on Jan. 30th).
What is the Shadow phase? The period immediately before and after a planetâs retrograde phase is referred to as the âshadow phaseâ; at these times, the planet travels once more through the degrees of a sign that it had already passed through before and during its Retrograde phase. Mercury is usually in its shadow for about two to three weeks prior to a retrograde, and for three to four weeks after.
We will talk in more detail about Mercury’s first Retrograde phase of the Year, in Aquarius, in our next Forecasting Forum on Friday, Jan. 29th at 2pm EST. Feel free to join us live or register for the mp4-video presentation! To join for FREE every month, become a Star Member.

Saturday, Jan. 16th:
Saturday, the Moon remains in creative, sensitive Pisces all day (see Friday late afternoon for details).
Saturday very early morning, we get an opportunity to be very present; also to connect with others and share some practical advice, or simply go after what we enjoy in life. As best as you can, bring a sense of flow to what you are doing, and allow yourself to slow down and connect with nature.
Saturday morning, we get an opportunity to be very present, to connect with others and share a new vision about the Earth, or to reinvent how we connect with “the good things in life”.
As best as you can, bring a sense of flow and faith to who you are being; allow yourself to intuitively share some progressive, new ideas about what is important to you, and things that could make yours and other people’s life easier on a very practical level.
Saturday early afternoon, if we are awake at this time, we get an opportunity to be very present; also to connect with others on a professional level. This is a great time to be receiving practical advice around our long-term goals. As best as you can, trust the flow and bring some compassion to your interactions with others.
Sunday, Jan. 17th:
Sunday, the Moon remains in creative, sensitive Pisces all day (see Friday late afternoon for details).
Sunday early evening, a longer-term, challenging Jupiter/Uranus aspect becomes exact at 5:50pm EST. We started to feel this aspect from Jan. 5th on; it will be strong until Jan. 30th. This square is an invitation for us all to make a giant step forward, individually and collectively â we are ready for major changes in our own lives and on a global level.Â
This is all about each of us stepping up, stretching ourselves and making a difference, one by one — we feel a deep inner need to create personal and global change — we detect shifts in the world at large.
Ask yourself: Where could I play a bigger game? Where am I being called to innovate? What belief structures need to change, for me to make a bigger difference out there in my various communities (whether online or physical)?
This aspect also asks that we get in touch with our life perspectives and attitudes and break away from anything that is holding us back. We may feel restless and impatient, and might also become very demanding and difficult to please — we tend to feel like progress is too slow and we are tired of waiting.
This can be a time of personal and collective growth, as a rebellious urge within us presents an emotional challenge â and circumstances could challenge us in such a way that we need to change our preferences or beliefs. Stay as grounded as possible and keep breathing! Flexibility and open-mindedness is very helpful here.
What in my life feels stagnant? Where is change needed? Where am I able to explore innovative points of view? Where might I be able to channel this restless energy so that it powers progress? How might physical exercise or exploring nature help channel this expansive energy? What kind of explorations might be an energetic match?
Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 4-10 degrees of Aquarius, Taurus, Leo or Scorpio? If so, you may be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Sagittarius or Aquarius (Jupiter rules Sagittarius; Uranus rules Aquarius).
Sunday at 10:44pm EST, we enter a Moon VoC that will last for almost 3.5 hours, until 2:07am EST (Monday very early morning- Jan. 18th). Keep your long-term plans in mind, and get cracking on them. That said, do your best to go with the flow, and stay present — take it one step at a time, and surround your long-term commitments with compassion.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Sunday late evening until Monday very early morning ahead of time.
AndâŠ
A heads up for next Monday (Jan. 18th): the Moon remains in creative, sensitive Pisces and VoC until 2:07am EST; at that time, the Moon moves into pioneering, fast-paced Aries, where it will journey until Wednesday early afternoon (Jan. 20th). The Moon in Aries sextiles Saturn in Aquarius, exact at 9:20am EST; it conjuncts Chiron in Aries, exact at 12:49pm EST; and it sextiles Jupiter in Aquarius, exact at 3:45pm EST. More about all the details in next weekâs forecast. đ
One More Announcement:
