Freedom & “Space” — Forecast for Jan. 18th – 24th

This week’s headline items: the Sun changes signs from Capricorn to Aquarius on Tuesday afternoon, the first Quarter Moon Taurus becomes exact on Wednesday afternoon, and there will only be two Moon VoC phases this week: Wednesday very early morning (for almost 10.5 hours) and Friday afternoon (a little over 10 hours).

Before we get to this week’s forecast:

Would you like to see what 2021 has in store for you? And how to align yourself with all the potent energies this year?

Now, this week’s Forecast…

Monday, Jan. 18th:

Monday, the Moon remains in creative, sensitive Pisces and VoC until 2:07am EST; at that timethe Moon moves into pioneering, fast-paced Aries. It will journey there until Wednesday early afternoon. Life is an adventure, we’re more open to new ideas, and have great enthusiasm for new projects. Patience is certainly not our strong suit at this time, but we can decide quickly, and act immediately.

Our independence and dynamism are important to us right now, so we may find it hard to be disciplined or accept advice at this time; in general, our responses to others tend to be more assertive or even aggressive. If you find your foot tapping, try hitting the gym, or finding other ways to burn off the body’s excess energy.

Monday late morning, we get an opportunity to take actions on our personal goals, in a very concrete way and bring a new level of focus and authenticity to our future visions

Monday early afternoonhas lots of potential for healing around family, the “mother archetype”, home, and our past in general. We may feel more sensitive and insecure about what we identity with, and around our ability to be assertive; this gives us the opportunity to give ourselves some compassion, acceptance and nurturing in the face of our sensitivities and limitations.

Monday afternoon: we have an opportunity to connect with like-minded people and move a project forward that serves our community. It’s time for a new perspective: What new vantage point could we take? What needs to be considered, so we can…

What needs to be considered, so we can move forward faster?

Tuesday, Jan. 19th:

Tuesday, the Moon remains in pioneering, fast-paced Aries all day (see Monday morning for details).

Tuesday early morning, we are invited to make adjustments and find creative solutions around personal desires and needs, versus our professional connections and the long-term value we perceive in them. As best as you can, allow yourself to make space for both; flexibility and adaptability are key if we mean to move forward with our plans and projects…

Tuesday early afternoon, we have an opportunity to connect with others and move a project forward that is dear to us. It’s time for connecting with like-minded people: What groups or networks could you connect with? What needs to be communicated, so you can move forward faster? Who can give you the information you need?

Tuesday afternoon, at 3:40pm EST, the Sun changes signs from practical, cautious, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn to freedom-loving, forward-thinking and objective Aquarius, where it will journey until February 18th. For the next four weeks, we have advancement and progress in our hearts.

We want to get off the beaten path, leaving behind old and outdated ways of thinking and doing, throwing off personal and social conditioning those restrictions, limitations and inhibitions that may once have felt safe, but now feel constraining.

Our idealism runs strong, but we can have some fixed ideas about how we want to accomplish these ideals although we are open to new ideas in theory, in practice we may actually be quite stubborn. Finally, we are also definitely more aware of the impact each individual has on the whole of society.

All this is especially true if you are a Leo or Aquarius Sun-sign or Rising-sign. As an Aquarius, you will feel a good dose of confidence and playfulness in the next four weeks; as a Leo, you are more objective than usual working towards a vision for the future might be just the thing for you to do.

Wednesday, Jan. 20th:

Wednesday, the Moon remains in pioneering, fast-paced Aries until 1:56pm EST (see Monday morning for details).

Wednesday at 3:29am EST, we enter a Moon VoC that will last for almost 10.5 hours, until 1:56pm EST. Use this intuitive time to make some adjustments and find creative ways to work with the energies at play: On the one hand, as best as you can, follow your inner compass and take care of your own needs; on the other hand, deepen your authentic connection to whatever you are building long-term.

As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Wednesday very early morning until the early afternoon ahead of time.

Wednesday at 1:56pm EST, the Moon moves into steady, peaceful Taurus, where it will journey until Saturday very early morning. We love all physical comforts, prefer consistency, and would rather stick with what we know works well. In other words: change is not our favorite thing and “rushing things” goes against our grain.

What is our favorite thing for the next two days? It’s probably, slowing down and getting in touch with whatever delights our senses 😉 This Moon placement starts the build up towards the first Quarter Moon (exact later this afternoon).

Wednesday afternoon, a Mars/Uranus alignment in almost 7 degrees of Taurus becomes exact at 3:38pm EST. We started to feel this alignment from last week, Thursday evening (Jan. 14th) on; it will be strong until next week Tuesday evening (Jan. 26th). This connection brings a lot of nervous energy with it: we will most likely feel sudden spurts of energy moving through our bodies; this could make us rash in thought and deed. We may experience sudden insights about ourselves and our goals.

Ask yourself: Might a deep breath into my belly calm my nervous system? What might it look like to consciously break away from situations that have limited me when it came to honoring myself and my talents? Where could I channel my courage? Where do I need to “think different”? Act differently?

Our willingness to innovate is strong with this alignment: new ways of seeing, using, and approaching our personal possessions, valuables, money, and talents are in focus.

It takes courage to try something new and different. Ask yourself: What is the next step on my journey toward becoming an ever-stronger, healthy individual, one who honors and loves themselves, and is not afraid to have different values from others?

This alignment between Uranus and Mars also asks us to break away from anything keeping us from honoring our uniqueness and quirks — whatever keeps us in a rut, collectively and individually.

Please be extra conscious when driving. Do your best to channel the extra energy in a productive way: physical exercise is great for this, as is consciously breaking away from situations that have limited you — up until now. And (this is always wise)… As best as you can, stay grounded and keep breathing 🙂

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 4-10 degrees of Taurus, ScorpioLeo, or Aquarius? If so, you will be more affected by this alignment. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries or Aquarius (Mars is the ruler of Aries; Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius)

Wednesday afternoon, at 4:02pm EST, the first Quarter Moon in 1º of Taurus becomes exact (we started to feel this aspect from the moment the Moon entered Taurus this afternoon). The Moon, in steady, peaceful, comfort-oriented Taurus, makes a challenging aspect to the Sun in freedom-loving, forward-thinking, rebellious Aquarius.

We feel compelled to take action. The New Moon took place last Wednesday (Jan. 13th); “seeds” planted then are probably “sprouting” by now — and making first real contact with the outside world. This is therefore a time to stretch and grow — and create some forward momentum. We may feel anxious or unusually busy.

As best as you can, take it one breath at a time. Allow for changes, remain flexible and find creative solutions in your day-to-day dealings with others.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in any of the following: 0-3 degrees of Taurus, Aquarius, Leo, Scorpio or 29 degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra, or Capricorn? If so, you will feel the effects of this first Quarter Moon more strongly than otherwise. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

Thursday, Jan. 21st:

Thursday, the Moon remains in steady, peaceful Taurus all day (see Wednesday afternoon for details).

Thursday very early morning, if possible, connect with people that can support your projects on a practical level, and share with them what you have going on.

Thursday early morning, we are invited to take care of anything that has value for us on a physical level. Ask yourself: what actions could I take in the next four hours that would be in alignment with my physical desires and needs?

Also on Thursday early morning: On the one hand, we wish for peace and physical comfort — and on the other, for a new understanding of our future visions — it’s important for us to explore what it could mean for humanity. We may need to make some adjustments between these two needs that are seemingly at odds.

Thursday night/Friday very early morning, we have the ability to comfortably accomplish things that are aligned with our values, coupled with a nice feeling of ease — rushing is not required or expected of us right now. We are also feeling quite grounded in our connections with others and can be quite “real” with them without causing offense.

Friday, Jan. 22nd:

Friday, the Moon remains in steady, peaceful Taurus all day (see Wednesday afternoon for details).

Friday early morning, we have an opportunity to meet our need for material comfort with a gentler, more intuitive approach.

Friday late morning: On the one hand, we long for peace and physical comfort, on the other, we want to connect with like-mined people over our vision for the future, to see what we can create together. We may need to make some adjustments between these two needs that are seemingly at odds.

Friday at 4:28pm EST, we enter a Moon VoC that will last for a little over 10 hours, until 2:43am EST (Saturday very early morning). Use this intuitive time to empower each other in regards to earthly issues and mutually support each other in practical ways.

As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Friday afternoon until Saturday very early morning ahead of time.

Saturday, Jan. 23rd:

Saturday is a big day (astrologically speaking). The Moon remains in steady, peaceful Taurus and VoC until 2:43am EST; at that time, the Moon moves into chatty, versatile Gemini, where it will journey until next week Monday afternoon (Jan. 25th).  For the next two days, we like to learn, connect and interact as much as possible. “Busy” feels good: connecting online, on the phone, or sharing face-to-face, preferably multi-tasking all the way…

The one thing we can do without is boredom: If our mind is not engaged in some way, we might as well curl up and play dead 🙂

Saturday very early morning, a longer-term, challenging Mars/Jupiter aspect becomes exact at 2:49am EST. We started to feel this aspect build from Jan. 13th; and it will remain strong until Feb. 1st. This aspect is an opportunity to grow by stretching between two poles:

On the one hand, we feel drawn to physical comforts and the enjoyment of life, on the other hand, we also feel drawn to adventure, and want to expand our future visions — but especially to identify collaborators that help us find some higher learning or meaning for humanity before we make a move.

Here’s the question: might doing what works for each of us, honoring our talents and worth, actually help us hold space for the collective?

We seek progress and also comfort; we may become dissatisfied with how things are — an inner restlessness which demands freedom and “space” but seems somehow to prevent us from experiencing them. We may have a tendency to overdo things or over-exert ourselves — and our expectations of ourselves and others might be way too high.

Ask yourself: What might open up if I expected 5% less of myself, just for today? What if I applied that to others? To all humanity? Might my physical and mental energy levels help me be realistic about how much I can expect of myself right now?

With this position, we never feel that we have enough experiences, knowledge, expertise, success, etc. — it’s difficult knowing when to stop. If you can, pause and reflect: this will help with that feeling that you can’t get enough, no matter what you do. If we’re going to get tripped up here, it would be because we don’t know when to stop (or say no).

That said: we needn’t expect to feel tormented — in fact, this is usually a playful and humorous time, with lots of joking around (including practical jokes) smiles, and laughter.

The key to this aspect is to allow ourselves the desire to have everything we want, so we can feel comfortable — while also allowing ourselves the desire to quest after expansive yet truthful and progress-oriented collaborations, that create change that widens our perspectives on other humans…

Remember that change is not always progress. Consider all options first and then respond, rather than reacting; stay flexible and be willing to entertain new possibilities (watch out for impatience toward yourself or others).

Ask yourself: What if — in small or large ways — I could help birth a new age, and with it a new world, one that is based on heart-centered consciousness and individual freedoms?

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 5-11 degrees of Taurus, Aquarius, Leo or Scorpio? If so, you will feel this aspect quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries or Sagittarius  (Mars is the ruler of Aries, Jupiter of Sagittarius).

Saturday afternoon, an opportune Venus/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 2:49pm EST. We started to feel this aspect from Thursday evening  on; it will be strong until next week Monday afternoon (Jan. 25th). This is an opportunity for compassion and kindness in our social and work-related interactions. We are more attuned to the subtleties of human interaction, and are more inclined to naturally cooperate with others.

We tend to “feel” each other on an energetic level now, a sensitive approach is therefore recommended. This is also an opportunity for imaginative or romantic interactions. Remember: opportunities are openings; they aren’t necessarily handed to us — we have to “take” them and make something of them.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 17-21 degrees of Capricorn, Pisces, Taurus or Scorpio? If so, you may be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Pisces (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Neptune rules Pisces).

Saturday late evening, a Sun/Saturn alignment in a little over 4 degrees of Aquarius becomes exact at 10:01pm EST. We started to feel this aspect from this Wednesday evening on; it will remain strong until next week Wednesday evening (Jan. 27th). This alignment brings a more serious tone to our commitments with our long-term goals — it’s a time when we are called upon to “get real”.

This is especially true for future visions that require diligence and self-discipline, but also applies to anything that requires consistency and a mature approach. We are motivated by the desire to manifest tangible results. We are able to focus and work hard right now, especially if we have a vision in mind that serves a greater good; we welcome a sense of discipline, structure, and order.

Recommended at this time: making new commitments to previously-held visions, taking care of our responsibilities, making careful use of anything that’s within our control.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career point (or any personal planets) in 1-7 degrees of Aquarius, Taurus, Leo, or Scorpio? If so, you may feel the effects of this alignment more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Capricorn  (the Sun rules Leo; Saturn rules Capricorn).

Sunday, Jan. 24th:

Sunday, the Moon remains in chatty, versatile Gemini all day (see Saturday very early morning for details).

Sunday afternoon, we are required to make some adjustments — and we may need to do a little stretching and growing, when it comes to our inner or emotional experiences. As best as you can, be gentle with yourself and others, seek to understand before seeking to be understood.

Sunday evening, we may experience some internal discomfort and need to make some inner adjustments. We feel a little uneasy. We need to develop an inner awareness around two seemingly incompatible energies: on the one hand, we feel nudged toward having responsible and committed relationships, and a strong desire for practical goals — and on the other hand, we feel a need to be curious, in constant movement, and gathering or exchanging information/data as much as possible.

Ask yourself: Am I after light, superficial exchanges? Or practical and truthful commitments? Am I interested in gathering information? Or accomplishing something out there in the real world? Am I seeking out new information and keeping an open mind? Am I wanting to keep my mind busy with mental distractions — such as listening to the news or reading about other peoples’ opinions?

What would it look like if I was able to take 100% responsibility for what I contribute to society? What does being self-reliant look like to me? What if I could do all of the above without self-judgement?

And…

A heads up for next Monday (Jan. 25th): the Moon remains in chatty, versatile Gemini until 1:52pm EST (see Saturday very early morning for details— Jan. 23rd). At 2:17am EST,  enter a Moon VoC that will last for a little over 11.5 hours, until 1:52pm EST. In the early morning, an opportune Sun/Chiron aspect becomes exact at 5:29am EST; we started to feel this aspect from Friday, Jan. 22nd on; it will remain strong until Thursday, Jan. 28th. At 1:52pm EST, the Moon moves into protective, nurturing Cancer, where it will journey until Wednesday late evening (Jan. 27th). More about all the details in next week’s forecast 🙂
