January 28 – February 3rd | Astrologer Coach Sonja Francis

IReady to Experiment — Forecast for Jan. 28th – Feb. 3rd

This week’s headline items: Eclipse season finally ends on Wednesday, Venus changes signs from Sagittarius to Capricorn on Sunday evening, and there will be three Moon VoC phases this week: Monday early evening (for almost 16 hours), Thursday late afternoon (for a little over two hours), and Sunday early morning (for a little over two hours).

Before we get to this week’s forecast, I have one quick announcement:
If you missed my Radio Interview with the lovely Claudia Soul last week, feel free to listen in on our conversation about love and relationships in 2019

Now, this week’s Forecast…

Monday, Jan. 28th:

Monday: the Moon remains in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio all day, where it will journey until Tuesday late morning. We feel things deeply and have “X-Ray Vision” and “Bullshit-Smelling Abilities” 😉

Emotional authenticity is extremely important to us at this time; anything less than 100% emotional honesty could be perceived as flat-out dishonest. Once we feel safe trusting someone, we want to merge with them, preferably forever… as long as our trust is never betrayed.

The Moon in Scorpio urges us to uncover our own power. This occurs by a process of subtraction — it urges us to let go of whatever disempowers us. It’s thus an excellent time to look at “old” fears, limiting habits or emotional attachments, especially those stemming from past traumas.

Moon in Scorpio tends to run right over ambiguity — it’s “in or out”, “with us or against us”, “love me or leave me”. It can be stormy — a cold winter storm, or a torrid tropical storm of passion, depending on how we “work” the energies 🙂

Manipulation and paranoia are the lower vibrations of this aspect, so best as you are able, be straightforward — act in good faith and assume it in others. Best of all, be truly present to the fluctuations of your feelings — no matter if they’re “polite” or “timely”. Feelings aren’t facts, but they are information — and heeding them will help you embrace all of who you are.

Know thyself — and love thyself — you shall be set free. Remember: Love connects us to the Power within; Fear causes “Force” to show up — and that’s ultimately what disempowers us and others.

Monday early morning, we are likely to experience a sense of ease and flow, but may need to slow down and allow our feelings to come through. A gentle approach is best. We feel good when coming from the heart and making deeper connections with others. Being open to receiving, trusting the process and going with the flow are key!

Monday 5:39pm EST, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that last for almost 16 hours, until 9:33am EST (Tuesday late morning). Use this intuitive time as an opportunity to focus on inner processes. As best as you can, release any fears or traumas that keep you stuck in the past, and deepen your connection to what you feel deeply passionate about.

As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan…

…Monday evening until Tuesday late morning ahead of time.

Tuesday, Jan. 29th:

Tuesday, the Moon remains in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio and VoC until 9:33am EST (see Monday for details).

Tuesday morning: we are capable of being compassionate and forgiving with ourselves and others. A gentle approach is best.

Tuesday at 9:33am EST, the Moon moves into optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius, where it will journey until Thursday evening. New experiences and adventures satisfy a deep emotional need. The Sagittarius Moon persuades us to come from intuition and think in a broader manner.

We seek meaning and ideas that expand upon the “here and now”; we pursue truth and a new vision — the big picture, rather than the details. Spontaneity is key, we’d rather improvise than plan; this may tip into just “winging it”. We could also overdo or overstate.

Tuesday late evening, a Sun/Mercury alignment in 9.5 degrees of Aquarius becomes exact at 9:52pm EST. We started to feel this from last week, Friday evening on, and it will be strong until this Saturday evening. This aspect indicates a confident mind and an analytical approach to life. Intelligence and communication abilities are strong at this time; however, we may not listen as well as the other speaks — we might be too busy thinking about what to say next.

Given that this alignment takes place in Aquarius, we may feel particularly cool and collected, detached even — do your best to avoid arrogance or rigidity of thought.

We want an active role in communications — it’s very hard for us to passively listen and absorb information right now. What we say or write now is impactful, so choose your words wisely: If people hung on your every word, what would you say then? What would you hold back from saying?

Our opinions are strong and our thinking independent — and we’re proud of both — so our egos may get bruised if we don’t feel “heard”. As best as you can, express yourself fully, knowing that others may have a different opinion and that’s ok.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 6-13 degrees of Aquarius, Leo, Scorpio, or Taurus,? If so, you will be more affected by this alignment. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo, Gemini or Virgo (the Sun rules Leo; Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo)

Wednesday, Jan. 30th:

Wednesday, the Moon remains in optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius all day (see Tuesday late morning for details).

Wednesday morning, we have the opportunity to connect and collaborate with like-minded people, have an adventure, or simply do something that gets us excited about the future.

Wednesday afternoon, we may need to make some adjustments. As best you can, honor both your need for adventure and exploration of life and your need to go within.

You may also feel a pull between introvert and extrovert, or simply fast and slow. Tune in for a moment and see if you need to take a break or at least slow down a little. As best as you can, be compassionate and kind with yourself.

Wednesday evening: we feel a strong desire to explore great truths and new points of views about life. We need to remain open-minded if we are to grow and expand beyond who we currently know ourselves to be. What might be possible this evening if you experimented with all of that?

Wednesday night/Thursday very early morning: we have lots of energy and a positive attitude towards life. If you are awake, start something you feel passionate or enthusiastic about — what projects come to mind? What would be a fantastic use for all the physical energy that you have currently access to?

Also on Wednesday, Eclipse Season ends that started on Dec. 26th. Yay! We have now fully received our consciousness upgrade! Congratulations! You are ready to move to a whole new level of being 😉 If you set some Eclipse Intentions, now is a perfect time to start taking action on them (if it feels right to you): what might be a small or large step that you could take towards a long-term goal that you would like see manifested within the next 6-18 months?

Thursday, Jan. 31st:

Thursday, the Moon remains in optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius until 7:47pm EST (see Tuesday late morning for details).

Thursday morning: a long-term, opportune Saturn/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 9:15am EST. We started to feel this aspect from Jan. 11th on; its influence will remain strong until Feb. 23rd. Both planets are in the signs they rule — Saturn is in Capricorn and Neptune in Pisces — so this aspect provides a particularly potent opportunity to bring an intuitive and creative approach to building the various foundations in our lives — both individually and collectively.

Saturn is asking us to be realistic and mature, Neptune is asking us to be compassionate and accepting; both are connected to inner processes.

Saturn is interested in self-mastery — the ability to manifest something real by making an inner commitment and applying persistent effort. Neptune is interested in universal love and the connection to the inner divine through meditation or through simply being present in the now-moment to all the energies inside and around us.

Saturn is also interested in the now-moment, but more as the starting point for our long-term goals — it is interested in “where we’re at”, so we can realistically decide what step needs to come next… and next… and next — while always referring back to the now-moment.

We have a unique opportunity right now, to more deeply trust our inner processes, while also allowing the Universe/Source/our Higher Selves to step in and guide us as we build structures (individually and collectively) that support something sustainable and long-lasting. What would this look like in your own life? How might you be able to contribute to the collective version of that effort?

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 13-17 degrees of Capricorn, Pisces, Taurus, or Scorpio? If so, you will be more aware of this opportunity.  This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Pisces or Capricorn (Neptune is the ruler of Pisces; Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn)

Thursday late morning/early afternoon, we have lots of energy at our disposal, plus a desire to connect with others and have some adventures. Physical exercise or activities with others are great ways to channel this energy.

Thursday at 5:33pm EST, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that last for a little over two hours, until 7:47pm EST. Use this intuitive time to connect with like-minded people and to learn something new about your unique self — explore, take a risk.

As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Thursday late afternoon until the evening ahead of time.

Thursday early evening, we may need to make some adjustments. As best you can, honor both your need for adventure or exploration of life, and your need to heal past wounding or insecurities.

You may also feel a pull between introvert and extrovert, or simply fast and slow. Tune in for a moment and see if you need to take a break or at least slow down a little. As best as you can, be compassionate and kind with yourself.

Thursday at 7:47pm EST, the Moon moves into practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn, where it will journey until Sunday morning. We tend to be more realistic, serious, cautious; this can support practical endeavors and financial matters.

Our ambition surges and brings with it a need for structure and planning; when you add in the pragmatism this aspect supports, you can see how this could be a very productive time for business and long-term goals. Our reputation becomes very important to us.
As best as you can during this aspect, avoid “should-ing” on yourself. Take the pressure off, perhaps by saying “I am doing the best I can and that’s all I can ever do” 😉

Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn; it is currently transiting through its own sign, making this a great time to take look at your long-term aspirations and anything that you would like to master over the next three years. It’s also a great time to take a more serious look at our strategies for self-mastery.

For starters: Do you truly see “what’s so” in your life (as opposed to what you merely wish it to be, or what you would like it to be, or where you see yourself going, etc)? What is actually so right now? Once you have a handle on where “A” is, it’s easier to “go from A to B” — whether “B” is self-mastery or standing on the mountaintop.

Friday, Feb. 1st:

Friday, the Moon remains in practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn all day (see Thursday evening for details).

Friday morning, a challenging Mars/Pluto aspect becomes exact at 10:20am EST. We started to feel this aspect from last week, Sunday evening (Jan. 27th) on; it will stay strong until next week, Tuesday (Feb. 5th). Our ambition and drive to succeed are incredibly strong now; we feel prepared to go to any lengths, in order to achieve our goals — and we have the required energy. It’s a real need to achieve, a compulsion even — we often find it difficult to stop.

This aspect could also lead to power struggles, perhaps with an authority figure, perhaps within ourselves. Problem is, “push” could come to “shove” — and once in a shoving match, with Mars and Pluto involved, we may not know when enough is enough.

Do your best to tap into the power of the love within. Find creative ways to empower yourself and others. Flexibility is key — and walking away for 10 minutes might just save you from doing something you later regret — and also perhaps from burning-out 😉

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 18-25 degrees of Aries, Capricorn, Libra or Cancer? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries or Scorpio (Mars is the ruler of Aries; Pluto rules Scorpio)

Friday night/Saturday very early morning, we have an opportunity to soften our need for accomplishment with a gentler, more intuitive approach.

Saturday, Feb. 2nd:

Saturday, the Moon remains in practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn all day (see Thursday evening for details).

Saturday very early morning, we experience a sense of maturity, and of commitment towards ourselves and our long-term goals; for long-term success, focus on long-term projects that require a realistic approach or a solid commitment.

Saturday afternoon, our focus intensifies — we might even get a little obsessed with a project or task — as best as you can, take breaks and don’t forget to practice a little self-care 😉

Saturday evening, a harmonious Venus/Uranus aspect becomes exact at 6:41pm EST. We started to feel this aspect from last week, Wednesday evening on; it will remain strong until next week, Tuesday evening (Feb. 5th). This aspect helps us to embrace all that is new and unusual in romance and finance. We are ready to experiment — but not to commit. We have an offbeat, pleasant attitude and people are more willing to socialize.

This is an especially good time for financial undertakings involving any of the following: technology and the internet; metaphysics; the arts; group activities. We lose our fear of taking risks at this time, this could be a good couple of days for the stock market indexes…or at the very least, an unpredictable one 🙂

Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 26-29 degrees of Sagittarius, Aries, Leo or 0-2 degrees of Capricorn, Taurus, or Virgo? If so, you will be most blessed by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Aquarius (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Uranus rules Aquarius)

Saturday night/Sunday very early morning, a challenging Venus/Chiron aspect becomes exact at 1:51am EST. We started to feel this aspect from this Thursday evening on; it will remain strong until next week, Tuesday evening (Feb. 5th). This aspect asks us to stretch past injuries and insecurities in our relationships, self-worth and finances. If we can bring compassion and a different point of view to these issues, we will reach a new understanding of ourselves and our life journey.

We have the opportunity to learn from one another; ironically though, social insecurities can be magnified at this time. Whenever Chiron is involved, we are being asked to do some healing work. As best as you can, use this time to learn about your sore spots. Nobody is perfect: we all have our flaws and idiosyncrasies. It’s ok.

If you get triggered by someone, as best as you can, take it as an opportunity to see where this trigger originated — probably in your childhood. Bring love and compassion to yourself as you are, and as you were. Allow any feelings this may stir up in you. A feeling is just energy that wants to be experienced; it wants to move through us and out.

The more we resist our feelings, the more we keep them spinning in place. As best as you can, move from the head to the heart. What might change, if you had 5% more compassion with yourself and others? What if you just decided to have faith in the healing process?

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in the following placements: 26-29 degrees of Sagittarius, Pisces, Gemini, Virgo or 0-3 degrees of Capricorn, Aries, Cancer, or Libra? If so, you are more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus or Libra (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra).

Sunday, Feb. 3rd:

Sunday, the Moon remains in practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn until 8:03am EST (see Thursday evening for details).

Sunday at 5:53am EST, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that last for a little over two hours, until 8:03am EST. You may be aware of two seemingly conflicting desires: On the one hand, a need for serious, diligent accomplishment — and on the other, a desire to break free and rebel against obligations.

As best as you can, take some breaks, and “let your freak flag fly” — just for a moment — and revel in it! As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Sunday early morning until the morning ahead of time.

Sunday morning, we have an opportunity for healing when it comes to our need for accomplishments; a gentler, more compassionate approach is key!

Sunday at 8:03am EST, the Moon moves into freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius, where it will journey until next week, Tuesday evening (Feb. 5th). The energy of the Aquarian Moon relates to our instinct for improvement. Reactions are more intellectual than emotional; interactions more impersonal than personal. We are likely to have an increased fascination with the new and unusual.

Social gatherings, anything connected with group ideals and goals for the future, brainstorming, new ideas and methods, progress: all these are promoted during the time the Moon moves through Aquarius. Again: we have our eyes on the future — or on outer space 🙂 Personal freedom becomes paramount. This Moon phase brings us closer to the New Moon (exact on Monday afternoon – Feb. 4th).

Sunday late afternoon, an opportune Mercury/Jupiter aspect becomes exact at 4:54pm EST. We started to feel this aspect from Saturday on; it will be strong until Monday evening (Feb. 4th). This aspect is an opportunity for us to expand our thinking and express ourselves with confidence and optimism — we share what’s important to us from a place of open-mindedness and excitement.

This connection also creates a possibility of expansion via stepping into uncharted territory. Humor can be a great way to tap into this energetic combo. This planetary connection also favors short trips, writing, teaching, studying, and making observations. We more readily exercise good judgment and are more “philosophical” and open to learning.

Again, as with any opportunity, we have to “take” it — it requires we take action. What could you do that would instill confidence in your exploration of the mind? Is there a new mental process that is asking to be explored?

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 16-20 degrees of Aquarius, Sagittarius, Aries or Libra? If so, you will be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Sagittarius (Mercury rules Gemini and Virgo; Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius).

Sunday early evening, at 5:29pm EST, Venus changes signs from optimistic, adventurous Sagittarius to realistic, prestige-and-accomplishment-oriented Capricorn. Venus will be traveling through Capricorn until March 1st. With this placement, our relationships tend to be more practical in nature: We see people for who they are and are not afraid to lay the facts on the table; we take things more seriously.

We take our time warming up to others, appreciate maturity in relationships, and can make long-term commitments. There is a strong focus on business relationships. Venus is also connected to finances and the things we value; it’s therefore a perfect time to get serious and make long-term plans in these areas: As best as you can, get real about what comes in and what goes out 😉

Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus or Libra? If so, you will feel more serious and focused for the next 4 weeks; your heart will want to make practical, attainable long-term plans. If you are a Capricorn Sun-sign or Rising-sign, for as long as Venus is in your sign, you will attract more love, abundance and beauty into your life.

Sunday, is also the last day before the New Moon becomes exact…This is a great day to let go of what no longer serves us. As best as you can, avoid jumping the gun: Rather than launching into brand-new endeavors or connections, wait until a couple of days has passed after the New Moon.

Some of us might feel a little anxious or nervous today: As best as you can, get quiet and go within… Listen to the silence between the sounds… Find peace in the connection with your innermost and truest Self. For more info about this New Moon, feel free to watch my video on the subject here

And…

A heads up for next Monday (Feb. 4th): the Moon remains in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius all day (see Sunday morning Feb. 3rd for details). Monday afternoon, the New Moon in almost 16 degrees of Aquarius becomes exact at 4:04pm EST. Also, the Moon in Aquarius sextiles Jupiter in Sagittarius, exact at 9:35pm EST. More about the details in next week’s forecast. 🙂
