What No Longer Works — Forecast for Jan. 6th – 12th
This week’s headline items: the Uranus station intensifies on Monday; a powerful Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse in Cancer becomes exact on Friday afternoon; Uranus ends its 5-month Retrograde phase (in Taurus) on Friday evening; finally, a long-term alignment between Saturn & Pluto in Capricorn becomes exact on Sunday late morning/early afternoon.
There will be three Moon VoC phases this week: Monday morning (for a little over 14 hours), Wednesday late afternoon (for almost 10.5 hours) and Friday evening (for a little over 12 hours).

Now, this week’s Forecast…
Monday, Jan. 6th:
Monday, the Moon remains in steady, peaceful Taurus. Where it will journey until 9:11pm EST. We love all physical comforts, prefer consistency, and would rather stick with what we know works well. In other words: change is not our favorite thing and “rushing things” goes against our grain.
What is our favorite thing for the next two days? It’s probably, slowing down and getting in touch with whatever delights our senses 😉
Monday at 7:08am EST, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that lasts for a little over 14 hours until 9:11pm EST. Use this intuitive time to empower each other in regards to earthly issues and mutually support each other in practical ways.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Monday morning until the late evening ahead of time.
Monday at 9:11pm EST, the Moon moves into chatty, versatile Gemini, where it will journey until Thursday very early morning. For the next two days, we like to learn, connect and interact as much as possible.
“Busy” feels good: connecting online, on the phone, or sharing face-to-face, preferably multi-tasking all the way… The one thing we can do without is boredom: If our mind is not engaged in some way, we might as well curl up and play dead 🙂
Also, Monday, the Uranus Station intensifies in 2.5 degrees of Taurus until Jan. 14th. It will come to a complete halt on Friday (Jan. 10th) in 2.5 degrees of Taurus, ending its 5-month retrograde phase (more about that on Friday…). When an outer planet stations, its energy gets more pronounced, and this can sometimes cause discomfort. We are being asked to hang out with that discomfort until the planet’s energy picks up speed again around Jan. 23rd (when the station phase has ended).
Definitely expect the unexpected. Uranus is all about breaking away from traditional structures and moving towards a new future — one that serves others as well as ourselves. Its keyword is “Freedom”: this aspect provides an opportunity to discover how free we actually feel. So… how free do you feel? 😉
As best as you can for the next 2.5 weeks, pull whatever is “in your face” even closer and take a good long look at it: our intuition will be very strong and deliver sudden insights and ideas, especially around what needs to change in our lives. What if you expressed your individuality to the fullest? What does the “larger vision” look like? Where is the obstacle?
Uranus also rules electronics, technology and the internet — so don’t be surprised by interruptions or short-term failures in these areas. Group activities are likewise ruled by Uranus, so these will move more to the forefront of awareness.
As best as you can during this aspect, stay open and flexible, go with the flow — and pay attention to messages from the Universe 😉 Is your Sun-sign or Ascendant in …

Is your Sun-sign or Ascendant in Taurus? Or perhaps your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 0-5 degrees of Taurus, Scorpio, Aquarius or Leo? If so, you are more affected by this Station phase.
Tuesday, Jan. 7th:
Tuesday, the Moon remains in chatty, versatile Gemini all day (see Monday late evening for details).
Tuesday very early morning, an opportune Sun/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 1:21am EST. We start to feel this aspect build from Sunday very early morning (Jan. 5th) on; it will be strong until Thursday very early morning (Jan. 10th). This aspect is an opportunity both to dissolve what no longer serves us, and to connect to our intuition. We definitely feel inspired. It’s also a great time to bring a sense of flow and faith to long-term plans.
Our capacity for compassion (both toward ourselves and others) is quite strong, especially if we are able to acknowledge it. Dreams and reality find a way to work together now — any spiritual or creative endeavors that are started during this time will most likely do very well — and it feels great to donate time or money to favored causes.
Remember that this is an “opportunity” — it isn’t just handed to us, we have to make it happen.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 14-19 degrees of Capricorn, Pisces, Taurus or Scorpio? If so, you will be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Pisces (the Sun rules Leo; Neptune is the ruler of Pisces).
Tuesday very early morning, a somewhat challenging Mars/Uranus aspect becomes exact at 3:13am EST. We started to feel this aspect from Sunday evening (Jan. 5th) on; it will be strong until Wednesday evening. We feel uneasy about something, almost awkward — and we need to make a choice. An inner awareness needs to be developed in order to see what needs adjusting — this aspect calls for flexibility.
We experience an internal stress between our masculine energies (assertiveness/ aggression) and our need to express our unique spark (and the desire to make a difference).
We are being asked to go within and look at our personal goals and desires — and reach a new perspective on how we go about achieving them. Are we driven by personal resistance and rebellion, or motivated to positively impact humanity?
Once we get clear about our deepest motivations, we will discover new ways to move forward and embrace our unique talents and values in a healthy way, while demonstrating our strength and power more authentically, from a place of love and abundance, rather than fear and limitation.
How might you get in touch with your inner genius? What might “a passionate connection to your vision of a future” look like? What might be possible if you could get 5% more comfortable with being uncomfortable?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 1-4 degrees of Sagittarius or Taurus? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries or Aquarius (Mars is the ruler of Aries; Uranus rules Aquarius ).
Wednesday, Jan. 8th:
Wednesday, the Moon remains in chatty, versatile Gemini all day (see Monday late evening for details).
Wednesday very early morning, we are required to make some adjustments — and we may need to do a little stretching and growing, when it comes to our inner or emotional experiences. As best as you can, be gentle with yourself and others, seek to understand before seeking to be understood.
Wednesday morning, an opportune Mercury/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 8:03am EST. We started to feel this aspect from Tuesday morning on; it will remain strong until Thursday evening. This aspect gives us the opportunity to bring compassion and an intuitive approach to our thinking process. Having faith and connecting to our Higher Selves will be of service to us at this time. Any artistic or spiritual endeavors are likely to do well at this time. Music might help us with our thinking process and ability to get things done.
Let yourself be inspired! A book, a song, a movie, someone else’s words allow the Universe to speak to you. Open your mind to a higher vibration — and remember, opportunities are openings… they aren’t necessarily handed to us… we have to “take” them and make something of them.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 14-19 degrees of Capricorn, Pisces, Scorpio or Taurus? If so, you may be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Pisces (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Neptune rules Pisces).
Wednesday afternoon, we may experience some internal discomfort and need to make some inner adjustments. We feel nudged toward being responsible and building something that will last long-term.
Also, Wednesday afternoon, feels a little uneasy. We need to develop an inner awareness around our two seemingly opposite pulls: on the one hand, a strong desire for accomplishment, on the other, our need to make connections and exchange information.
We are asked to bring awareness to whatever it is we feel most passionate about: Are we after superficial exchanges? Or intense and authentic emotion? As best as you can, make adjustments as needed, and drop any self-judgment.
Wednesday at 5:16pm EST, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that lasts for almost 10.5 hours until 3:43am EST (Thursday very early morning). Use this intuitive time to connect with others, socialize, and share information with them.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Wednesday late afternoon until Thursday very early morning ahead of time.
Thursday, Jan. 9th:
Thursday, the Moon remains in chatty, versatile Gemini and VoC until 3:43am EST; at that time, the Moon moves into protective, nurturing Cancer, where it will journey until Saturday morning. With this Moon placement, we are more sensitive to what people say and therefore our feelings are more easily hurt — so be kind to yourself and others. Self-Care is key for the next two days 😉
Emotional safety is important to us as well; we like connecting to the familiar and we enjoy nurturing ourselves and others — home and family call to us, for instance. Make sure though, that your glass is filled before letting others drink from it, otherwise you might start to feel drained and resentful. This Moon placement starts the build up to the Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse (exact Friday afternoon).
Thursday (all day until midnight) is your last chance to take advantage of the Early Bird Special for the the first Forecasting Forum of the year! We will talk about the upcoming Lunar Eclipse in Cancer and the Saturn/Pluto alignment in Capricorn, in relationship to our own birth charts! Click here to register now!
Thursday morning, we are invited to make adjustments and (as best as we can) find creative solutions to seemingly insoluble situations. Make space both for healing around anger or self-identity and for taking care of emotional or family issues.
Also, Thursday morning, brings an opportunity to connect to family (or friends that feel like family) and create breakthroughs around things that we enjoy through our five senses (e.g. food). This may also be a good time to find a unique or global approach on financial matters that bring us a sense of emotional security.
Thursday late morning/early afternoon, requires some inner adjustments. We feel uneasy or awkward and need to make a choice, one that demands we develop inner awareness around two very different urges: on the one hand, the desire to be active and engage in an adventure that expands our current horizons — and on the other hand, the need to nurture ourselves and stay in touch with our feeling body.
Thursday evening: we are invited to balance our need for what’s familiar and feels comfortable against our desire to tap into a greater wisdom that helps us grow in our career goals and expand our dealings out there in the world.
Friday, Jan. 10th:
Friday, the Moon remains in protective, nurturing Cancer all day (see Thursday very early morning for details).
Friday late morning, a Sun/Mercury alignment in almost 20 degrees of Capricorn becomes exact at 10:19am EST. We started to feel this aspect from Sunday evening (Jan. 5th) on; it will be strong until next week Tuesday evening (Jan. 14th). This aspect indicates a confident mind and an analytical approach to life. Intelligence and communication abilities are strong at this time; however, we may not listen as well as the other speaks — we might be too busy thinking about what to say next.
As this alignment takes place in Capricorn, we may be particularly stubborn or attached, but it may not always serve us to dig our heals in. We want an active role in communications — it’s very hard for us to passively listen and absorb information right now. What we say or write now has impact, so as best as you can, choose your words wisely.
If people hung on your every word, what would you say then? What would you hold back from saying? Our opinions are strong and our thinking independent — and we’re proud of both — our egos may therefore get bruised if we don’t feel “heard”. As best as you can, express yourself fully, knowing that others may have different opinion and that’s ok.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 17-23 degrees of Capricorn, Cancer, Aries or Libra? If so, you will be more affected by this alignment. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo, Gemini or Virgo (the Sun rules Leo; Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo)
Friday afternoon, at 2:21pm EST, the Moon opposes the Sun (in 20 degrees of Cancer/Capricorn) — this is a Lunar Eclipse becoming exact. As mentioned above, the entrance of the Moon into Cancer (on Thursday, very early in the morning) began the energetic build up towards this powerful Full Moon. This Full Moon is actually the second of two Eclipses in a row; the first one was the Solar Eclipse in Capricorn on Dec. 25/26th.
Eclipses are always powerfully connected to the Moon Nodes and thus to our Soul’s Journey. Relationships of all kinds are highlighted during this time — but with this powerful Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse, there is a particularly strong emphasis on family- and business-relationships. If you’d like to learn more, and as a Member of my online community, click here to watch my Lunar Eclipse video.
Lots of planets are involved in this powerful Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse chart — Mercury, Saturn, Pluto, Uranus and Neptune — and all play an important role, so buckle up! More about the specifics in regards to all of these planets in a moment….
This Full Moon is also the first Lunar Eclipse in Cancer since the Moon Nodes moved into Cancer/Capricorn in late 2018. This puts an emphasis on taking a nurturing approach towards ourselves and the collective. With Eclipses this is a longer term process — in this case, a process that will last until November 2020.
Let’s take a look at the polarities involved here: The Moon in protective, feeling-oriented Cancer opposes the Sun in practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn. We have a heightened sense that something must be brought into balance and reintegrated; the balance in question is between the experience of our feelings and emotional needs (symbolized by Cancer), versus our outer obligations or material, practical goals (Capricorn).
It’s important to realize that we all have limitations and challenges in life — and when we approach those in a nurturing way, taking care of our feeling body, our inner baby, and allow ourselves to receive support from “family connections”, we are more likely to overcome those challenges and be realistic about our and other people’s limitations.
Ask yourself: How am I balancing the demands of my outer and inner life? Home life vs. career? Where am I able to be mature and self-reliant — and also contribute? Where am I giving too much? Not enough?
Any Full Moon also has us look more closely at the denser vibrations or shadow components of the energies involved. With Cancer, this is our ability to receive and feel safe from within, but what protected us in the past may no longer work — our needs may have changed over time.
Ask yourself: When do I have the tendency to hold on to the past? Where am I holding on simply because it is familiar? When do I resist change? What happens when I don’t allow myself to feel my feelings? When do I react to life vs. respond?
This brings me to mention a webinar I have available for purchase on my website right now: It’s called React vs. Respond — Where in the chart can we learn about our emotional maturity? If you haven’t seen it yet, definitely take a look at it… click here for more info!
Also, this 60min. webinar is yours for FREE between now and Jan. 31st, if you upgrade your Membership to Star-level during this time (so before Jan. 31st): again, click here for more info!
With Capricorn, we need to take a look at those parts of ourselves that are domineering, rigid, unforgiving, self-servingly ambitious, status-seeking, and hierarchical.
As best as you can, be really honest with yourself, and ask: How important is… To read the whole article and get all the Coaching Questions for this month’s Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse, click here. (will be available by Jan. 8th)
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 18-22 degrees of Cancer, Capricorn, Aries and Libra? If so, you are more affected by this month’s Full Moon. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).
Friday at 6:58pm EST, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that lasts for a little over 12 hours until 7:16am EST Saturday morning. Use this intuitive time to remain flexible and practice self-care — take good care of your emotional and physical body — that way, you’ll remain able to empower yourself and others.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Friday evening until Saturday morning ahead of time.
Last but not least, Friday, at 8:49pm EST, Uranus comes to a halt in 2.5 degrees of Taurus, turning direct again after its 5-month retrograde phase. We’ve had 5 months to re-evaluate certain things: humanitarian goals, group causes, issues around freedom (possibly financial freedom). We’ve also reflected on our vision for the future, and where the obstacles to that vision might lie.
We are now ready to take into the world all that we have learned over the last 5 months, and make some progress. Uranus is the archetype of revolutionary change, daring us to think way, way outside of the box.
Uranus will be back to its usual speed by Jan. 23rd; at that point you could say its “Change or be changed” — change is inevitable, so it might as well be change you’ve chosen consciously.
We may find that we disagree with other people’s values. We may be restless, even anxious, and therefore feel pressure to act (or react) regarding others — these feelings could also be connected to financial decisions or partnerships.
Note that Uranus also rules electronics, technology and the internet; these may all be influenced by the planet’s slower movement.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 0-5 degrees of Taurus, Scorpio, Leo, or Aquarius?. If so, you felt this station phase quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aquarius (Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius).
Saturday, Jan. 11th:
Saturday, the Moon remains in protective, nurturing Cancer and VoC until 7:16am EST (see Thursday very early morning and Friday evening for details).
Saturday very early morning, requires some inner adjustments. We feel uneasy or awkward and need to make a choice, one that demands we develop inner awareness around two very different urges: on the one hand, the desire to connect to like-minded people that share our vision — and on the other hand, the need to nurture ourselves and stay in touch with our feeling body.
Saturday at 7:16am EST, the Moon moves into fun and attention-loving Leo, where it will journey until next week, Monday morning (Jan. 13th). We may lack objectivity and struggle with backing down or compromising. We all love to be admired — or at the very least acknowledged — for our greatness 🙂
So hand out some compliments — let people know how proud you are of them, tell them how much you love them. Come from the heart in this and all other things… be honest and authentic, as best you can. Fun, games and romance are a big part of this energy as well. You might also enjoy spending time with little ones.
If there are no “outer children” around, how about getting in touch with your “inner child” — it’s definitely easier for the next two-and-a-half days. What are you most grateful for today? What would be heaps and heaps of fun? What would be so much fun, you let out a tiny squeak, just thinking of it?
Saturday late morning, things flow nicely and we feel excited about new healing modalities. There’s an opportunity here to be compassionate toward ourselves and others and for connecting to our inner child. As best as you can, have fun when connecting with others, bring a healing quality to the table by tapping into your inner joy, explore things on a holistic level, and take a risk.
Also, Saturday late morning, we may feel pulled in two quite different directions: On the one hand, we experience a need for connecting with our inner child-energy (creative self-expressions and joy), on the other hand, we want to make space for pursuing our financial vision — and we also want to break free from outdated value systems.
As such, we may have to address what we value in both in others, and in ourselves (which informs our self-worth); as best as you can, make adjustments and find creative solutions when it comes to these energies.
Saturday late afternoon, things flow nicely; we feel excited about new adventures. We have an opportunity to connect, explore, and become part of something exciting.
Saturday late evening: we are invited to make some internal adjustments — we may want to have some fun, but also explore our long-term goals and accomplishments

Sunday early morning, a Mercury/Saturn alignment in a little over 22.5 degrees of Capricorn becomes exact at 4:51am EST. We started to feel this aspect from Friday morning on; it will remain strong until next week, Tuesday (Jan. 14th). This connection strengthens our ability to make realistic decisions connected to our need for achievement and mastery. We are more able to come from a place of integrity and maturity when planning anything long-term.
We prefer to have serious conversations with others that move us forward, closer to a common goal. It’s an excellent period for reviewing, reassessing, perfecting, and improving our thinking patterns, long-term goals, and path towards mastery. Even though we might have a more negative or critical outlook initially, this alignment serves the purpose of reaching a balanced, mature, and realistic state.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (MC) or personal planets in 19-26 degrees of Capricorn, Cancer, Aries or Libra? If so, you will feel this alignment quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Capricorn (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn).
Sunday early morning, a Mercury/Pluto alignment in almost 23 degrees of Capricorn becomes exact at 5:14am EST. We started to feel this aspect from Friday on; it will remain strong until next week Tuesday (Jan. 14th). With this alignment, an all-or-nothing attitude is very likely. We have tremendous mental focus — which could tip into obsession.
Choose love over fear whenever possible. Connect to the things you feel passionate about — and connect to others, empowering them with your passions. As best as you can, choose your words carefully — if possible, speak from that deeply connected and empowered place.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 20-26 degrees of Capricorn, Aries, Libra or Cancer? If so, you may feel more connected to this alignment. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Scorpio (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Pluto rules Scorpio)
Sunday late morning, a Saturn/Pluto alignment in almost 23 degrees of Capricorn becomes exact at 11:59am EST. We started to feel this aspect from Dec. 5th, 2019 on; it will remain strong until Feb. 19th, 2020.
The last time we saw a Saturn-Pluto alignment was in November 1982, and then again in May-June, 1983; back then it was in a late degree of Libra, the time before then was in August 1947 in 13º of Leo — so as you can see this is quite a long cycle — anywhere from 32-38 years, in fact.
It’s time to think seriously about what no longer works for us, both individually, and collectively; this is a time when dedication and commitment to goals runs high and we are more reliably and consistently productive, deriving satisfaction from a job well done, especially if we can readily find meaning in what we are doing. We are more able to concentrate, as we can see ourselves and our purpose very clearly, and our persistence will pay off.
The invitation to adjust our expectations becomes obvious; any trials and tests that emerge now will nudge us onto the right path and challenge us to become stronger and more confident in our own abilities. Do your best to detox and de-stress.
With any long-term cycle, you can set some Intentions around what it is you would like to create, so ask yourself: What “old” structures in my life are not in alignment with my Soul Purpose? Where in my life do I feel an inner pressure to commit to something that feels emotionally authentic to me and requires me to grow up and stand in my power? Where am I asked to face my fears and some harder issues?
What needs to be transformed or discarded in order to find healthy ways to support myself and others — even considering everyone’s limitations? How can I take a nurturing approach to my current limitations? To the limitations of other people? How might I develop a practice around my understanding of what I am capable of and not capable of?
You can also read my article on the subject here.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 20-26 degrees of Capricorn, Aries, Libra or Cancer? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Capricorn or Scorpio (Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn; Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio).
And…
A heads up for next Monday (Jan. 13th): the Moon remains in fun and attention-loving Leo until 9:06am EST (see Saturday morning for details). In the morning, a Sun/Pluto alignment in almost 23 degrees of Capricorn becomes exact at 8:21am EST; we started to feel this aspect from Jan. 9th on; it will remain strong until Jan 16th. At 8:42am EST, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that lasts for a brief 24 minutes until 9:06am EST; at that time, the Moon moves into detail-oriented, practical Virgo, where it will journey until Wednesday late morning (Jan. 15th). In the late morning, a Sun/Saturn alignment in almost 23 degrees of Capricorn becomes exact at 10:15am EST; we started to feel this aspect from Jan. 9th on; it will remain strong until Jan. 16th. And, at 1:39pm EST, Venus changes signs from Aquarius to Pisces, where she will journey until Feb. 7th. More about all the details in next week’s forecast 🙂
