Observe Your Feelings — Forecast for July 2nd – 8th
This week’s headline items: Eclipse season begins on Monday, Jupiter starts to slow down (station) on Tuesday, Chiron comes to a halt on Wednesday night/Thursday very early morning, starting its 5-month retrograde phase, the last Quarter Moon in Aries becomes exact on Friday early morning, the Jupiter station intensifies on Saturday, and Mercury enters its pre-shadow phase on Saturday afternoon.
There will be three Moon VoC phases this week: Monday until 1:31pm EDT, Wednesday morning (for 19 hours), and Saturday very early morning (for a little over 5.5 hours).
Before we get to this week’s forecast, I have one quick thing I want to share:
If you are not a Star or SuperStar Member, and missed last week’s Forecasting Forum (but still want to get a taste of what we covered), feel free to watch the 28-min excerpt — it’s about the Solar Eclipse in Cancer, and the Chiron Station/Retrograde phases: click here and enjoy!
Now, this week’s Forecast:
Monday (July 2nd): the Moon remains in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius and VoC, until 1:31pm EDT. The energy of the Aquarian Moon relates to our instinct for improvement. Reactions are more intellectual than emotional; interactions more impersonal than personal. We are likely to have an increased fascination with the new and unusual.
Social gatherings, anything connected with group ideals and goals for the future, brainstorming, new ideas and methods, progress: all these are promoted during the time the Moon moves through Aquarius. Again: we have our eyes on the future — or on outer space 🙂 Personal freedom becomes paramount
Monday at 1:31pm EDT, the Moon enters creative, sensitive Pisces, where it will journey until Wednesday night/Thursday very early morning. This Moon placement often finds us more sensitive, intuitive, idealistic and imaginative than normal. We also have a greater capacity for compassion, sympathy, and affection for all — but especially for those who suffer or can be regarded as the underdog.
But… that very idealism could also be our downfall at this time: We tend to see the best in everyone and everything, and when reality doesn’t match our idyllic vision, we might feel upset and even victimized by those harsh realities. A way out of this is to channel our idealism into spiritual or creative endeavors.
It’s also a great time for releasing fears — especially the ones based on a sense of separation — and experiencing “oneness”. Feelings tend to flow more freely; as best as you can, let them — in fact, “going with the flow” is the best way to go for the next couple of days.
Monday evening, a somewhat challenging Mercury/Saturn aspect becomes exact at 7:49pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Sunday night on, it will remain strong until Wednesday morning. This will contribute either to a lack of mental energy or a need to focus on our commitments with others. This aspect operates more on an internal level: We feel uneasy about something, almost awkward — and we need to make a choice.
The sheer scope of our goals in life can require more effort than is immediately obvious. Hard work can take its toll on our health. If we partition our big ideas into achievable segments — and go one clear action step at a time — we can move forward while maintaining inner peace and outer health. Use your time wisely! Develop the inner awareness needed, so you can see what needs adjusting.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 4-7 degrees of Leo or Capricorn? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Capricorn (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Saturn rules Capricorn)
Also on Monday, we enter Eclipse season until Aug. 26th; for 10 days before and after an Eclipse, we are usually in uncharted territory: anything is possible and it’s wise to expect the unexpected. Feel free to watch my video about the first of three Eclipses (will be posted by July 3rd).
Flexibility, thinking outside the box, and self-care are critical during Eclipse season! Self-care is particularly important in times of stress and/or change — basic things, like making sure that we eat healthily and regularly, drink plenty of water, exercise, get plentiful rest — and allow affection in from friends, family, or pets. Connecting to what feels supportive in order to stay grounded and regenerate ourselves can be very helpful as well.
Anything brand-new (and I really mean brand, brand-new) started during Eclipse season will likely not pan out the way we thought it would, often because important information comes to light only after…

…the Full Moon that follows the last Eclipse. If possible, try to defer any major brand-new projects until after Aug. 26th, when this Eclipse season is over. If something is beginning or ending in a way that seems organic allow it to be.
That said, projects and interactions that got underway prior to Eclipse season (before July 2nd) are another matter — don’t stop your life just because it is Eclipse season 😉 Pay attention also to anything that got started at the time of the last Solar Eclipse in Aquarius, in February of this year.
Another Eclipse-related phenomenon: not only do Eclipses bring up uncertainty in us, they might also leave us nervous, anxious, unsettled and disoriented. As best as you can, observe your feelings and stay grounded in the “here and now”. Connect to your intuition and inner wisdom; they will help carry you through this period. Remember: it’s temporary and we are receiving an upgrade — that’s a good thing!
Just like upgrading a computer, you will get all the information you need, as soon as the upgrade is complete — so as best you can, be patient. This does not mean that we need to drop everything; it just means it’s wise to check in with your higher Self — do this whichever way feels right to you 😉
Tuesday (July 3rd): the Moon remains in creative, sensitive Pisces all day (see Monday afternoon for details).
Tuesday early afternoon, we have nice feeling of ease and an ability to trust and connect emotionally with others. As best as you can, trust your intuitive sensing right now, allow whatever comes up to be beneficial for you.
Tuesday late afternoon, we experience a nice feeling of ease and an ability to trust and connect deeply with others. As best as you can, trust your intuitive sensing right now, allow whatever comes up to be beneficial for you.
Tuesday late evening, we feel more sensitive and need to slow down a little. This is a great time for spiritual or creative endeavors. Energy work, or anything that requires our intuitive side, will work best for the next several hours.
Also on Tuesday, Jupiter slows down again (stations) in 13.5 degrees of Scorpio, preparing to come to a halt on July 10th (after having been retrograde for the past 4 months). This station will last until July 17th.
When a planet stations, we start to be more fully aware of its energy; this awareness helps us to get more connected to those energies as they exist within us. We get to see where we need to embrace them more fully, so that we can use them in a healthy way, without getting lost in the lower vibrations of their expression.
Jupiter represents our desire to seek insight through knowledge. Some of this planet’s keywords: morality; gratitude; hope; honor; the law. Jupiter is the planet of possibility, optimism, wisdom, understanding and growth (including mental and spiritual growth). Jupiter is also associated with our sense of humor, generosity, tolerance, goodwill, and mercy.
The lower expressions of Jupiter include irresponsibility — too much of a good thing, leading to blind optimism, excess, and overindulgence.
We have been connecting internally to our wisdom and ability to grow for the past four months. What did you discover about your ability to learn and grow since March? Do you have a better understanding of your own inner wisdom and how to access it? How could those discoveries change how you live in the world?
Those of us who have any of our personal planets (or our Ascendent) in 11-15 degrees of Scorpio, Taurus, Leo, or Aquarius will be more affected by this station. This is also true for those of us with their Ascendent or Sun-sign in Sagittarius (Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius, so those folks will always be affected more strongly by Jupiter’s movements and aspects).
Wednesday (July 4th): the Moon remains in creative, sensitive Pisces all day (see Monday afternoon for details).
Wednesday at 5:47am EDT, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that last for 19 hours, until 12:50am EDT (Wednesday night/Thursday very early morning). Use this intuitive time as an opportunity to connect to your higher Self, and if possible, bring a sense of flow and faith to your long-term plans — especially those you feel really passionate about.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Wednesday morning until Wednesday night ahead of time.
Wednesday night/Thursday very early morning, at 12:46am EDT, Chiron comes to a halt in 2.5 degrees of Aries. As you may recall from last week, Chiron is the wounded healer; in Aries, it brings our attention towards our physical and sexual wounds, as well as wounding around our self-identity and the masculine energies. Watch out for any triggers that are connected to your past.
This is the beginning of Chiron’s 5-month retrograde phase, that lasts until Dec. 9th (moving backwards to almost 28 degrees of Pisces). Until Dec. 9th, we are getting a chance to connect to, and investigate our wounds and insecurities on a more internal level.
We may need to put any wounds around the masculine approach to things under the magnifying glass — while they are there, do your best to take a closer look at how you might bring compassion and understanding to them. What might you discover about those wounds, if you really looked? How could others benefit from your discoveries?

Do you have your Ascendant, your Career point or any of your personal planets in 0-4 degrees of Aries, Libra, Cancer, Capricorn, or 27-29 degrees of Pisces, Gemini, Virgo or Sagittarius? If you do, you will probably feel the effects of this retrograde phase more than others.
Thursday very early morning (July 5th), at 12:50am EDT, the Moon enters pioneering, fast-paced Aries, where it will journey until Saturday morning. Life is an adventure, we’re more open to new ideas, and have great enthusiasm for new projects. Patience is certainly not our strong suit at this time, but we can decide quickly, and act immediately.
Our independence and dynamism are important to us right now, so we may find it hard to be disciplined or accept advice at this time; in general, our responses to others tend to be more assertive or even aggressive. If you find your foot tapping, try hitting the gym, or finding other ways to burn off the body’s excess energy. This Moon placement also starts the build-up to the last Quarter Moon (exact on Friday early morning)…more on that later…
Thursday morning, a harmonious Sun/Jupiter aspect becomes exact at 7:04am EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Monday morning on, it will remain strong until Sunday. This is an opportunity to see things from a different perspective. What will lead us to this new vantage point?
Optimism, an open mind, an open heart: Follow your enthusiasm as if it were a wilderness guide — and let yourself be creative and free, especially with or around other people.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 10-17 degrees of Cancer, Scorpio, or Pisces? If so, you will feel this aspect quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Sagittarius (the Sun rules Leo; Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius).
Thursday morning, a Mercury/Mars opposition becomes exact at 7:48am EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Tuesday on, it will remain strong until Saturday evening. This aspect brings some juicy energy to our conversations and a chance to have some overdue discussions. We may not see eye to eye; diplomacy might be required.
As best as you can, make it a productive discussion that serves you and others — a win-win — otherwise you might feel really awful afterwards. Also, watch out on the road for some crazy drivers… rushing might not necessarily get you there faster 😉
Think back to late June 2017, when Mercury was conjunct Mars in Cancer. With Mercury opposing Mars now, we can start to see the fruits of the seeds that were planted back then. So: What were the seeds? What are the fruits?
In other words: What has emerged since last June, in regards to real-estate, household projects, family, or self-care? You are also now more aware of what you have (and haven’t) learned since then… Do you like what you see? Is there room for more integration in any of these areas?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 6-12 degrees of Leo, Aquarius, Taurus, or Scorpio? If so, you will feel this aspect quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Aries (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Mars rules Aries).
Friday (July 6th): the Moon remains in pioneering, fast-paced Aries all day (see Thursday very early morning for details).
Friday at 3:51am EDT, the last Quarter Moon in 14 degrees of pioneering, fast-paced Aries becomes exact. The Moon pioneering, fast-paced Aries in makes a challenging aspect to the Sun in protective, nurturing Cancer.
During the last Quarter Moon, we are better served by reviewing those projects we began around the last New Moon — in this case, that would be June 13th — as opposed to launching new ones. Out of those projects, what needs last-minute adjustments? What did you discover since then? What did it mean for you? As best as you can, find creative solutions for anything that comes up, whether internally or with others.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 12-16 degrees of Aries or Cancer? If so, you will feel this month’s last Quarter Moon quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer, since the Sun rules Leo and the Moon rules Cancer.
Friday afternoon, we are invited to make adjustments and find creative solutions around personal desires and needs, versus our deep passion and focus on long-term goals. As best as you can, allow yourself to make space for both; flexibility and adaptability are key if we mean to move forward with our plans and projects
Saturday (July 7th): the Moon remains in pioneering, fast-paced Aries until 8:51am EDT(see Thursday very early morning for details)
Saturday at 3:09am EDT, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that last for a little over 5.5 hours, until 8:51am EDT (Saturday morning). Use this intuitive time to connect to yourself, and to loved ones, with joy and creative self-expression — as this is definitely a creative time. As best as you can, have fun — and allow whatever comes up to be a passionate expression of yourself.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Saturday morning ahead of time.
Saturday at 8:51am, the Moon enters steady, peaceful Taurus, where it will journey until next week, Monday early afternoon (July 9th). We love all physical comforts, prefer consistency, and would rather stick with what we know works well.
In other words: change is not our favorite thing and “rushing things” goes against our grain. What is our favorite thing for the next two days? It’s probably, slowing down and getting in touch with whatever delights our senses 😉
Saturday at 3pm EDT, Mercury enters a 3-week shadow phase, as it reaches 11.5 degrees of Leo. This precedes the retrograde phase, which will begin on July 26th in 23.5 degrees of Leo (more on that in 3 weeks).
So what is the “shadow phase”? To explain this, I’ll quickly cover what happens when a planet “stations” and then goes “retrograde”.
Relative to us on Earth, a planet sometimes looks like it is slowing down (“stationing”), then stopping. After being still for a while, it actually appears to go “backward” through the sky (this is the “retrograde” phase).
There are also two “shadow” phases — during these, the planet travels over a part of the sky it will later “revisit”. The first “shadow” comes before the planet moves backward; the second comes when the planet starts to catch back up (after going direct).
It’s like you went hiking and left something behind at camp. If you went back to get it, you’d have some catching up to do, and would see the same scenery three times.
Mercury’s shadow phases usually last 2-3 weeks before and after the Retrograde phase. If you want to buy, sell or ship big-ticket items — especially connected to transportation (cars, airline tickets, etc.) or communication devices (phone, computer, iPad, etc.) — be aware of the shadow periods as well as the retrograde phases. If possible, get these things done before Mercury enters it’s shadow or wait until after the shadow phases are over — that would be Sept. 2nd in this case 😉
Of course, if there is something that must get done during these phases, don’t put your whole life on hold, just because Mercury is retrograde or in it’s shadow. Sometimes things line up exactly at the right time; as best as you can, trust that it’s all “perfect” 😉
Also on Saturday, the Jupiter station intensifies at 13.5 degrees of Scorpio. We will feel this intensified station phase until July 14th. We will feel its energy more forcefully during this time.
Jupiter is preparing to come to a halt on July 10th (after having been retrograde for almost the past 4 months). For more about the Jupiter station, I recommend you read Tuesday’s entry again.
Sunday (July 8th): the Moon remains in steady, peaceful Taurus all day (see Saturday morning for details).
Sunday morning, we are invited to balance our desire for comfort and security with our desire for deeper emotional connections with ourselves and others
Sunday late morning, a harmonious Sun/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 10:42am EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Thursday evening, it will remain strong until next week, Wednesday evening (July 11th). This aspect could be tremendously supportive when it comes to dissolving what no longer serves us.
Our intuition, imagination, and inspiration all seem to be “zeroed in”. We go beyond “tolerance”, to lovingly embrace differences in others, and give where it’s needed with open hearts and hands. All of this also feeds into any creative and spiritual endeavors that start around this time.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 13-19 degrees of Cancer, Pisces, or Scorpio? If so, you will feel this aspect quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Pisces (the Sun rules Leo; Neptune is the ruler of Pisces).
Sunday afternoon, we get the opportunity to meet our need for material comfort with a gentler, more intuitive approach.
Sunday evening, we get a chance to empower each other in regards to earthly issues and mutually support each other in practical ways.
A heads up for next Monday (July 9th): the Moon remains in steady, peaceful Taurus until 12:58pm EDT. In the early morning, a challenging Mercury/Jupiter aspect becomes exact at 5:14am EDT, we started to feel this aspect build from Friday evening (July 6th), it will remain strong until Thursday morning (July 12th). At 12:09pm EDT, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that last almost an hour, until 12:58pm EDT. Also in the early afternoon, the Moon enters chatty, versatile Gemini, where it will journey until Wednesday early afternoon. And in the late evening on Monday, Venus changes signs from fun and attention-loving Leo to detail-oriented, practical Virgo; where it will journey until Aug. 6th. More about the details in next week’s forecast 🙂
