Stay Very Present & Grounded in Reality – Forecast for March 16th – 22nd
This week’s headline items: Mercury changes signs again (from Aquarius to Pisces), very early on Monday morning; the last Quarter Moon in Sagittarius also becomes exact on Monday early morning; the Sun changes signs from Pisces to Aries, late Thursday evening — in the Northern hemisphere, this also marks the Spring Equinox; the Balsamic Moon phase begins on Friday very early morning; and Saturn changes signs from Capricorn to Aquarius on Saturday late evening, giving us a preview of what’s to come in December.
There will be three Moon VoC phases this week: Monday morning (for almost 7 hours), Wednesday evening (for a brief 28 minutes), and Friday early morning (for 27.5 hours).
Now, this week’s Forecast…
Monday, March 16th:
Monday, the Moon remains in optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius until 12:25pm EDT. We’re strongly motivated to explore and learn. We’re not likely to be big fans of routine — diversity and new adventures work best at this time — we’re also physically restless and need to burn that off with activity and physical exercise.
We tend to feel more open, optimistic and inspired — but we also have a high degree of independence, which means we’d rather inspire others to do things our way, than take orders. Inspiring others could come easier than normal, as we can see the bigger picture, leaving us confident that others will agree with us, once they see what we see.
As best as you can, speak your truth without assuming that everyone is on the same page as you. Improvisation works well for us at this time, as we are spontaneous and love living on the edge — just watch out you aren’t overdoing or overstating things. This Moon placement started the build up towards the last Quarter Moon in Sagittarius (exact later this morning).
Monday early morning, at 3:42am EDT, Mercury leaves freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius, and moves into creative, compassionate Pisces. It will journey through this dreamy, creative sign until April 11th. We are moving from the mind into the heart.
Due to Mercury’s recent Retrograde phase, Mercury journeyed through Pisces previously, between Feb. 3rd and March 4th. Think back to that time: What did you communicate to others at that time — and how? What came up intuitively? Did you get a chance to tune in or rest more? What was your inner dialog all about?
For these next 3.5 weeks, we get a chance to communicate with compassion — we see the commonalities between us all, rather than what separates us.
We seem to be connected to Source more easily during this time — if we allow that energy to come through — and our thinking will be very creative, imaginative and intuitive. As best as you can, use your imagination to create something heart-based, rather than fear-based.
The key with this energy is to remain in the “here and now” and open up to a higher vibration. If we can do that, we will be able to download information from an intuitive place, rather than thinking things through. This could also be the reason why our mind is slowing down a bit and why we speak more softly.
Mercury in Pisces also offers us an opportunity to let go of any mental structures, conditionings or fears that are no longer serving us. If you are not connected to your intuition, you may want to double check with other people, before signing any documents or buying any big-ticket items. Are you ready to connect to your intuition more fully? Can you allow for the unfolding process, trusting your higher Self more fully?
Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Pisces? If so, you may feel more talkative during this time. Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini or Virgo? If so, you may need to learn to surrender to a slower pace and connect more fully to your heart and intuition.
Monday at 5:34am EDT, the last Quarter Moon in 26 degrees of Sagittarius will be exact. The Moon in adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius makes a challenging aspect to the Sun in sensitive, dreamy, compassionate Pisces.
This may bring up some challenges. However, it also energizes us to look at what needs to be completed — and what needs to be changed. This Moon phase brings us closer to the next New Moon, which will be exact on March 24th (in Aries)
With the last Quarter Moon, rather than starting major new projects, it serves us take a look at what was started around the time of the last New Moon — in this case, around Feb. 23rd. We now have about a week to wrap those projects up. What — if anything — needs last-minute adjustments? What did you discover since Feb. 23rd? What did it mean for you?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 24-28 degrees of Sagittarius, Pisces, Gemini or Virgo? If so, you are more affected by this month’s last Quarter Moon. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer, since the Sun rules Leo and the Moon rules Cancer.
Also, Monday, at 5:34am EDT, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that lasts for almost 7 hours until 12:25pm EDT. Use this intuitive time to allow for some adjustments. Honor both your need for adventure & exploration of life, and your need to go within.
Tune in frequently during this time, and see if you need to take a break or at least slow down a little. As best as you can, allow for daydreaming, naps, or intuitive self-expression.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Monday early morning until the early afternoon ahead of time.
Monday at 12:25pm EDT, the Moon moves into practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn, where it will journey until Wednesday late evening. We tend to be more realistic, serious, cautious; this can support practical endeavors and financial matters.
Our ambition surges and brings with it a need for structure and planning; when you add in the pragmatism this aspect supports, you can see how this could be a very productive time for business and long-term goals. Our reputation becomes very important to us.
As best as you can during this aspect, avoid “should-ing” on yourself. Take the pressure off, perhaps by saying “I am doing the best I can and that’s all I can ever do” 😉
Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn; it is currently transiting through its own sign, making this a great time to take look at your long-term aspirations and anything that you would like to master. It’s also a great time to take a more serious look at our strategies for self-mastery. For starters: Do you truly see…

For starters: Do you truly see “what’s so” in your life (as opposed to what you merely wish it to be, or what you would like it to be, or where you see yourself going, etc)? What is actually so right now? Once you have a handle on where “A” is, it’s easier to “go from A to B” — whether “B” is self-mastery or standing on the mountaintop.
Tuesday, March 17th:
Tuesday, the Moon remains in practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn all day (see Monday early afternoon for details).
Tuesday early afternoon, we are invited to connect with people who share our values. We are better able to connect to anything that involves a long-term commitment. We perhaps might also implement business practices that support our values, create abundance and make life tangibly more enjoyable.
Tuesday evening, we have an opportunity to soften our need for accomplishment with a gentler, more intuitive approach. Ask yourself: Where might I be guided, if I trusted my physical and intuitive body to guide me? Could I tune in and listen 5% more to those subtle sensations or messages?
Since Monday afternoon, we’ve had a total of 6 planets in Capricorn — and tomorrow, Wednesday, the Moon will move over Mars at 21.5° Capricorn, Jupiter at 22.5° Capricorn, Pluto at 24.5° Capricorn, and Saturn at 29.5° Capricorn.
On an individual level, we might put a lot of pressure on ourselves right now; on a collective level, this could potentially intensify our fears and tendencies towards a negative or pessimistic outlook on life.
As best as you can, focus on yourself; be appropriately cautious and self-responsible, and stay very present and grounded in reality. Remember: all is well all of the time. Fear, most of the time, only exists in the mind. We either imagine the worst case scenario, or we remember something that we would rather not experience again.
Either way: Fears that stem from the past, or from an imaginary future, are not real and not grounded in reality or the present moment.
Check to see: what is real in this now moment? What is true? What if I didn’t imagine the worst? What if I allowed the past to be the past? What is actually so, right now? What does the “now moment” require of me?
Wednesday, March 18th:
Wednesday, the Moon remains in practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn until 9:16pm EDT (see Monday early afternoon for details).
Wednesday early morning: we feel an impulse to put some work in toward long-term goals — especially anything we’ve been meaning to get to for a while — and are invited to practice that which we would like to master long-term. As best as you can, take that journey one step at a time.
Wednesday morning: we experience a growth in our maturity and self-commitment. For long-term success, expand your perspective around your goals — we have the courage now to make a solid commitment — take advantage of the opportunity to work towards something worthwhile.
Wednesday late morning, our focus intensifies — we might even get a little obsessed with a project or task — as best as you can, take breaks and don’t forget to practice a little self-care 😉
Wednesday evening provides an opportunity to look at our ability to go within, get in touch with our inner divinity, and bring peace and inner knowingness to our long-term commitments.
Wednesday at 8:48pm EDT, we enter a brief Moon Void of Course (VoC), that lasts for only 28 minutes, until 9:16pm EDT. Use this intuitive time to focus on long-term projects that involve a mature and realistic approach. As best as you can, take your time, and do your best to show your expertise.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Wednesday late evening ahead of time
Wednesday at 9:16pm EDT, the Moon moves into freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius, where it will journey until Saturday morning. The energy of the Aquarian Moon relates to our instinct for improvement. Reactions are more intellectual than emotional; interactions more impersonal than personal. We are likely to have an increased fascination with the new and unusual.
Social gatherings, anything connected with group ideals and goals for the future, brainstorming, new ideas and methods, progress: all these are promoted during the time the Moon moves through Aquarius. Again: we have our eyes on the future — or on outer space 🙂 Personal freedom becomes paramount.
Thursday, March 19th:
Thursday, the Moon remains in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius all day (see Wednesday late evening for details).
Thursday evening, an opportune Sun/Saturn aspect becomes exact at 7:50pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Tuesday evening on; it will remain strong until Saturday evening. This aspect provides an opportunity to become aware of what needs to happen if we are to accomplish something concrete.
We have common sense at our disposal; we are willing to look reality in the eye and take responsibility for our life and how we live it. This is an opportunity to be more aware of our heart connection to the divine and to our intuitive selves — and how it can benefit us both in terms of long-term goals, and in what we are focused on in the here and now.
Remember: opportunities are openings, they aren’t necessarily handed to us — we have to “take” them and make something of them.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or any personal planets) in the following: 27-29 degrees of Pisces, Capricorn, Taurus, Scorpio, or 0-1 degree of Aries, Aquarius, Gemini or Sagittarius? If so, you may be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Capricorn (the Sun rules Leo; Saturn rules Capricorn)
Thursday late evening, the Sun changes signs from dreamy Pisces to fast-paced, enthusiastic Aries, where it will journey until April 19th. This is also the Spring (or Vernal) Equinox.
This signifies the beginning of Spring in the Northern hemisphere of this planet — the energetic turning point from one season to the next. Equinoxes are super-potent times for setting intentions. They are energetic gateways, where we experience the inter-relationship between light and dark, inner and outer, spirit and matter.
With the Sun entering Aries for the next four weeks, we tend to act first and think later. We are more aware of our personal goals and we feel a strong urge to move forward, get things done, move closer to our goals. We are quite aware of our own gut instincts and where we are heading. It’s a great time both for leading others and for carving out our own path.
All this is especially true if you are a Leo or Aries Sun-sign or Rising-sign. As an Aries, you will feel a good dose of confidence and playfulness in the next four weeks; as a Leo, you will feel energized and physically strong at this time.
Friday, March 20th:
Friday, the Moon remains in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius all day (see Wednesday late evening for details).
Friday very early morning, around 2am EDT, the Balsamic Moon phase begins when the Moon reaches 15 degrees of Aquarius. This lasts until Tuesday early morning, when the New Moon in Aries becomes exact (more on that next week…however, feel free to watch my New Moon video — click here after March 18th in the evening).
We are being asked to slow down and get quiet, so we can listen to our intuition. For some of us, this might be a stretch. As best as you can: stay grounded, take a deep breath and exhale any tensions.
Rather than starting something brand-new, put all that energy into completing existing projects. This is also a great time for letting go of whatever no longer serves us. What if you could hear the voice of your inner wisdom? What might it be saying?
Friday at 5:00am EDT, we enter a long Moon Void of Course (VoC), that lasts for 27.5 hours until 8:33am EDT (Saturday morning – March 21st). Use this intuitive time to make some adjustments in your life. As best as you can, find creative solutions to seemingly unsolvable situations.
Make space either for connections with like-minded people, for involvement in a cause, or for aligning with your own values and enjoyment of life. As such, we may have to address what we value — both in others, and in ourselves.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Friday early morning until Saturday morning ahead of time.
Friday morning, a Mars/Jupiter alignment in almost 23 degrees of Capricorn becomes exact at 7:35am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from last Sunday evening (March 15th) on; it will remain strong until next week, Wednesday evening (March 25th). Mars’s energy combines with Jupiter’s expansiveness to increase our enthusiasm, liveliness, and optimism; in Capricorn, this alignment paradoxically requires a serious approach.
We are self-confident and have a strong will to succeed, to see how much we can do, and how far we can go. No matter what we accomplish, we want to keep going, to do even bigger things.
We enjoy competitive work, vigorous exercise, expanding our horizons, and other Jupiter-ruled pursuits a lot more right now — especially when they also happen to fit in with our passionate approach towards succeeding in the world (business or otherwise).
We are more likely to bring a self-confident “can-do” attitude, even a certain relish, to our long-term goals — and to any aspirations or commitments in areas where we exhibit a strong will to excel. Particularly when it comes to our careers and social structures, this could prove a very productive and busy time.
Indeed, given our capacity for skillfully handling a wide variety of tasks at the same time, we risk overextending or over-doing. Don’t worry: Just pace yourself and go after your goals in the most practical and precise manner you can muster… Tomorrow is another day 😉 Self-care is key!
The last Mars/Jupiter conjunction took place on Jan. 6th, 2018 (in Scorpio). What did you begin then? How could that now be grounded in reality? What if that could now go to the next level? How might that come about?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 20-26 degrees of Capricorn, Cancer, Aries or Libra? If so, you will be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries or Sagittarius (Mars is the ruler of Aries; Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius).
Saturday, March 21st:
Saturday, the Moon remains in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius and VoC until 8:33am EDT; at that time, the Moon moves into creative, sensitive Pisces, where it will journey until next week, Monday late evening (March 23rd).
This Moon placement often finds us more sensitive, intuitive, idealistic and imaginative than normal. We also have a greater capacity for compassion, sympathy and affection for all — but especially for those who suffer or can be regarded as the underdog.
But… that very idealism could also be our downfall at this time: We tend to see the best in everyone and everything, and when reality doesn’t match our idyllic vision, we might feel upset and even victimized by those harsh realities. A way out of this is to channel our idealism into spiritual or creative endeavors.
It’s also a great time for releasing fears — especially the ones based on a sense of separation — and experiencing “oneness”. Feelings tend to flow more freely; as best as you can, let them — in fact, “going with the flow” is the best way to go for the next couple of days.
Saturday early evening, we get an opportunity to be very present, to connect with others and share a new vision about the Earth, or to reinvent how we connect with “the good things in life”.
As best as you can, bring a sense of flow and faith to who you are being; allow yourself to intuitively share some progressive, new ideas about what is important to you, and things that could make yours and other people’s life easier on a very practical level.
Saturday late evening, at 11:58pm EDT, Saturn changes signs from practical, cautious, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn to freedom-loving, forward-thinking and objective Aquarius, where it will journey until July 1st. This will be a preview of what’s to come in December of 2020, when Saturn makes its second move into Aquarius, this time until March 2023.
Saturn feels pretty comfortable in Aquarius, as it is the traditional ruler of this air-sign and therefore “co-rules” it together with Uranus (the modern ruler); it is inviting us to look for practical applications of group consciousness, our inventions, ideas, future visions, etc. This transit could also teach us that there is freedom and liberation in abiding by particular rules — but it’s best to avoid rigid thinking.
So, between now and July 1st, we are invited to look for practical applications for our future visions. We may well be firming up our ideas for the future — this transit is a time to focus on building a secure foundation in our affiliations with like-minded people — so we could likewise be firming up our networks.
Saturn in Aquarius also reminds us that before we can think about what we want to build or bring forth, we need to look at the implications this has on all of humanity or our larger communities, and get to the core of what we envision for everyone.
It asks us to take responsibility for our part in the collective, turning a critical eye to everything that we envision for our future, and taking on an objective, scientific approach. We are individually and collectively invited to clarify our collective thoughts.
Saturn in Aquarius also reminds us that in order to realize our visions, we need to look at their practical implications — we need to slow down and take our time, if we are to manifest something that can withstand the test of time, something of value to a larger percentage of society, not just to a few.
Think back to the period between Feb. 1991 and May 1993, as well as July 1993 – Jan. 1994 (the last times Saturn made this journey): What did you accomplish back then, in regards to building networks, or focusing on a long-term vision for yourself and/or humanity at large? What area of life got a lot of your attention and focus in those days? Where did you have to apply yourself and have patience? Or set better boundaries?
By the way, if you were born during that time period, you will experience your first “Saturn Return” within the next three years… (and if you were born between January 1962 and March 1964, as well as Sept. — Dec. 1964, you’re coming up on your second Saturn Return).
A Saturn Return represents a new cycle of maturation in your life. The First Saturn Return (around age 29) asks us: Where are you ready to step up and do the work, gain in maturity, and commit? The Second (around age 58) asks: Where are you ready to give back to society and share your expertise, your life’s work?
If you want to know how Saturn’s journey through Aquarius will impact you personally over the next three month, and then from Dec. 2020 – March 2023, feel free to join us for the next Forecasting Forum on April 6th, click here for more info or to register
All this is especially true if you are a Capricorn or Aquarius Sun- or Rising-sign. As a Capricorn, you will feel a greater need for a “cause” — let’s hope it’s a good one that benefits most of humanity 🙂 As an Aquarius, you will most likely feel a greater sense of responsibility, a need to be more realistic, serious, and mature, in the next 3.5 months.
Sunday, March 22nd:
Sunday, the Moon remains in creative, sensitive Pisces all day (see Saturday morning for details).
Sunday morning, an opportune Mercury/Uranus aspect becomes exact at 9:19am EDT. We started feeling this aspect build from this Thursday evening on; it will be strong until next week, Tuesday morning (March 24th). This brings an opportunity for insight and novelty. We might experience some really unusual conversations. Remember: an opportunity is not automatically given to us; we have to realize it.
This aspect also brings an opportunity to see things from a different perspective, or to put a new spin on our “old” thinking structure. We like to connect in unusual ways and any group activities or brainstorming with like-minded people could generate amazing insights — this might be a busy day. As best as you can — and as much as you want to — stay open to other dimensions 😉
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 2-7 degrees of Pisces, Taurus, Cancer or Capricorn? If so, you will be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Aquarius (Mercury is the ruler of Virgo and Gemini; Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius)
Sunday late evening, if we are awake at this time, we’ll get an opportunity to be very present — and also to connect with others through our values. This is a great time for getting practical advice around financial stuff. As best as you can, bring a sense of flow and faith to your interactions with others.
Also, Sunday late evening, we feel more sensitive and need to slow down a little. This is a great time for spiritual or creative endeavors. Energy work, or anything that requires our intuitive side, will work best for the next several hours.
Last but not least, Sunday late evening, an opportune Venus/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 11:08pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Friday evening on; it will remain strong until Wednesday evening. This is an opportunity for compassion and kindness in our social interactions.
We are more attuned to the subtleties of human interaction, and are more inclined to naturally cooperate with others. We tend to “feel” each other on an energetic level now; a sensitive approach is recommended.
We also have an opportunity to connect to our values and gifts from intuition, and use our imagination to attract what we want: When you daydream, what would you like to experience? How would it feel?
Remember: opportunities are openings; they aren’t necessarily handed to us — we have to “take” them and make something of them.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 17-21 degrees of Taurus, Pisces, Capricorn or Cancer? If so, you may be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Pisces (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Neptune rules Pisces).
And…
A heads up for next Monday (March 23rd): the Moon remains in creative, sensitive Pisces until 8:58pm EDT (see Saturday morning- March 21st for details). In the very early morning, a Mars/Pluto alignment in almost 25 degrees of Capricorn becomes exact at 1:21am EDT; we started to feel this aspect build from March 18th on; it will remain strong until March 28th. At 10:51am EDT, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that lasts for a little over 10 hours until 8:58pm EDT; at that time, the Moon moves into pioneering, fast-paced Aries, where it will journey until Thursday late morning (March 26th). More about all the details in next week’s forecast 🙂
