Give Yourself Some Extra Time | Astrologer Coach Sonja Francis

Forecast March 19th – 25th, 2018

For me personally, last week’s theme was trusting my heart over my conditioned mind… Seeing the wisdom and possibilities that emerge when my heart leads, seeing what is possible when “All is One” leads — realizing that the power of my love towards myself and others is greater than any fear, division, or the illusion of separation between all of our hearts.

Before we get to this week’s forecast, I have one quick announcements:

Please note that my full Weekly Forecasts and my Full Moon videos are only available via my new online community. For a limited time only, you can continue receiving all of the wonderful forecasts uninterrupted, for the price of a Cappuccino! So, join now!

“I will definitely upgrade to the SuperStar Membership. I had a closer look at it and the extras are so worth it. Good luck with your new website-it’s brilliant!” — Arvi

And again, as a reminder: Not only are memberships deeply discounted right now, your price will be locked in for life!

This week’s headline items: Mercury’s station intensifies on Monday; the planet comes to a halt on Thursday, beginning its 3.5 week retrograde. Jupiter’s Station phase ends on Tuesday and the Sun changes signs from Pisces to Aries, early that afternoon (this also marks the Spring Equinox in the Northern hemisphere). Beginning Thursday early morning, it’s time to take actions on the New Moon Intentions; and the first Quarter Moon in Cancer becomes exact on Saturday late morning.

There will also be three Moon VoC phases this week: Monday afternoon (for a little over 5.5 hours), Wednesday afternoon (for a little over 12 hours), and Friday late evening (for 5 hours).

Monday (March 19th): the Moon remains in pioneering, fast-paced Aries, where it will journey until 9:07pm EDT. Life is an adventure, we’re more open to new ideas, and have great enthusiasm for new projects. Patience is certainly not our strong suit at this time, but we can decide quickly, and act immediately…

Our independence and dynamism are important to us right now, so we may find it hard to be disciplined or accept advice at this time; in general, our responses to others tend to be more assertive or even aggressive. If you find your foot tapping, try hitting the gym, or finding other ways to burn off the body’s excess energy.

Monday at 3:29pm EDT, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC) that lasts for a little over 5.5 hours, until 9:07pm EDT. Use this intuitive time to connect with people that can enthusiastically support your projects and share with them what you have going on.

As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Monday afternoon and evening ahead of time 🙂

Monday at 9:07pm EDT, the Moon moves into steady, peaceful Taurus, where it will journey until Thursday very early morning. We love all physical comforts, prefer consistency, and would rather stick with what we know works well.

In other words: change is not our favorite thing and “rushing things” goes against our grain. What is our favorite thing for the next two days? It’s probably, slowing down and getting in touch with whatever delights our senses 😉

Also on Mondaythe Mercury station intensifies, as Mercury is preparing to come to halt this Thursday (March 22nd) at almost 17 degrees of Aries — beginning its 3.5-week retrograde phase (more on that later this week). During the station phase, until March 29th, we feel Mercury’s energies more strongly.

Pay attention to anything “in your face” in any of the following areas: communications, short travels, transportation of any kind, communication devices. You will get a chance to make adjustments once Mercury is moving direct again (to be more precise, during the shadow phase that follows).

For the next 10 days, we might experience delays or misunderstandings; things could feel “off” or stagnant. It might be a good idea to give yourself some extra time when getting ready to go somewhere — and that goes for the journey itself, too — especially if you intend to drive or use public transportation. Going with the flow is definitely recommended at this time.

Be extra-patient if you intend to buy, sell or ship big-ticket items, especially if they are transportation or communication devices like anything connected with planes, trains, cars, phones, computers, iPads, etc. Best of all (if possible): wait until after May 3rd, when the shadow phase is over.

Some of us will feel the effects of the Mercury station more than others: those of us who have Gemini or Virgo as our Sun- or Rising-Sign (Ascendant); and those of us with personal planets in 9-11 degrees of Virgo, Pisces, Gemini or Sagittarius.

Tuesday (March 20th): the Moon remains in steady, peaceful Taurus all day (see Monday evening for details).

Tuesday very early morning, a Mercury/Venus alignment in 17 degrees of Aries becomes exact at 12:03am EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from last Friday evening (March 16th) on; it will remain strong until next week, Thursday morning (March 29th). This is an excellent time to share about bravery, acts of heroism, physical activities, sports, new adventures or endeavors, ourselves, our personal goals — or anything we feel passionate about — and also about any teaching endeavors connected to those areas.

This alignment supports communicating from a passionate heart — and in fact, it becomes essential to connect to people with whom we feel a strong affinity. We wish to form those connections in a spirit of harmony, directness, and equality. In fact, we tend generally to have a strong sense of fairness at this time — and want to be around people who share this passion.

We also thoroughly enjoy the written and spoken word — literature, wordplay, puns, moving conversations — especially when these words speak of something new (or courageous).

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 14-20 degrees of Aries, Capricorn, Libra or Cancer? If so, you will feel this alignment quite strongly; the same is true for those of us with our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Virgo, Gemini, Libra or Taurus  (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra)

Tuesday at 12:15pm EDT, the Sun changes signs from dreamy Pisces to fast-paced, enthusiastic Aries, where it will journey until April 19th. This is also the Spring (or Vernal) Equinox.

This signifies the beginning of Spring in the Northern hemisphere of this planet, the energetic turning point from one season to the next. Equinoxes are super-potent times for setting intentions. They are energetic gateways, where we experience the inter-relationship between light and dark, inner and outer, spirit and matter.

With the Sun entering Aries for the next four weeks, we tend to act first and think later. We are more aware of our personal goals and we feel a strong urge to move forward, get things done, move closer to our goals. We are quite aware of our own gut instincts and where we are heading. It’s a great time both for leading others and for carving out our own path.

All this is especially true if you are a Leo or Aries Sun-sign or Rising-sign. As an Aries, you will feel a good dose of confidence and playfulness in the next four weeks; as a Leo, you will feel energized and physically strong at this time.

Wednesday (March 21st): the Moon remains in steady, peaceful Taurus all day (see Monday evening for details).

Wednesday at 1:21pm EDT, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC) that lasts for a little over 12 hours, until Thursday, March 22nd at 1:30am EDT. Use this intuitive time to balance your desire for comfort and security with your desire for deeper emotional connections with yourself and others.

As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Wednesday afternoon and evening ahead of time 🙂

Wednesday night/Thursday very early morning, at 1:30am EDT, the Moon moves into chatty, versatile Gemini, where it will journey until Saturday early morning. For the next two days, we like to learn, connect and interact as much as possible. “Busy” feels good: connecting online, on the phone, or sharing face-to-face, preferably multi-tasking all the way…

The one thing we can do without is boredom: If our mind is not engaged in some way, we might as well curl up and play dead 🙂

Thursday (March 22nd): the Moon remains in chatty, versatile Gemini all day (see Wednesday night/Thursday very early morning for details).

Thursday early morning, after 4:22am EDT, it’s time to actions on our New Moon intentions: if you set Intentions Saturday, Sunday of last week, or this week Monday morning — after the New Moon became exact — today will be the best time to take relevant actions. If you wrote your intentions down, go back and take another look at what came through intuitively. If you didn’t write anything down, get quiet for a moment and check in with yourself: What actions are calling to me?

Also on Thursday at 8:19pm EDT, Mercury comes to a still stand in almost 17º of Aries (starting its 3.5-week retrograde phase), slowing things down tremendously from Wednesday until Friday. Give yourself extra time to go to work this morning or to get things done. If you are traveling today, just simply go with the flow… you’ll get there… eventually 😉 The same is true when it comes to all our technological devices…

This retrograde phase will last until April 15th. People worry about Mercury retrogrades, but it’s important not to stop one’s life during these times. As mentioned above, certain things may take longer — but a retrograde gives us a chance to resolve things that have been keeping us from living our lives in a more passionate way — especially things that came up within the past three weeks.

Take time to investigate your own thought processes… ask yourself: What’s too busy in my life? What if I got really clear about that?

For the next three and a half weeks, we’ll get a chance to explore our personal goals — to connect from within to what we feel passionate about. It’s also an opening to readdress communications, learning experiences, and mental conditioning.

This is an internal process — a chance to honor and reorganize our thoughts, working from the inside to the outside — rethinking, retooling and releasing what no longer works.

We also get a chance to explore what we desire for ourselves, connecting from within to whatever needs a more direct and assertive approach or some kind of revision — we may even get to reorganize our life, and explore new avenues that are better aligned with our personal goals (if we do the inner work of exploring what work for us and what doesn’t).

As always: with Mercury retrograde, always read the small print — and re-read a contract before signing (if you have to sign something) — or ask another person for a second opinion… Basically, during these periods, it’s best to be aware of any details that we might have overlooked… and check in with our intuition… and stay open to the possibility of renegotiation or adjustments, down the line!

In general, Mercury Retrograde is a great time for reevaluating and reorganizing. This is especially true for our thought patterns and decisions (particularly those made in the 3 weeks prior to the start of the retrograde) — but it’s true of our lives in general: we can reach a clearer understanding as to what works, and what doesn’t, and what needs to change.

Reconnecting with old friends, clients and family members (especially siblings) is also favored at this time …

Mercury also represents our day-to-day mind; this too is experienced more internally at this time. When it comes to communication, make sure that what you say, write and hear is the same as the intended meaning — and use the spell-checker 😉

Another thing to take into consideration: how does each Mercury retrograde phase affect your personal birth chart. Do you have any personal planets that Mercury will align with during its retrograde journey? The houses of your chart each represent different areas of your life — which of the houses in your chart is affected by this retrograde?

If you have Gemini or Virgo as your Sun- or Rising-Sign (Ascendant), or personal planets (or angles) that are in 3-15 degrees of Aries, Libra, Cancer, or Capricorn, you can expect to feel the effect of the Mercury retrograde phase more strongly.

Friday (March 23rd): the Moon remains in chatty, versatile Gemini all day (see Wednesday night/Thursday very early morning for details).

Friday evening, a challenging Venus/Pluto aspect becomes exact at 7:17pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Wednesday morning on; it will remain strong until next week, Monday morning (March 26th). The Universe is asking us to stretch and grow.

Venus represents our relationships and that which we most value; these areas may undergo major transformations. This aspect challenges us to find meaning in our life through partnerships. We must now uncover the deeper layer of our life. With Pluto in the mix, social interactions could be intense.

You may see changes in financial status or relationships. In the latter, things erupt that have been brewing beneath the surface for some time; this may prove disruptive: As best you can, empower rather than disempower. We may become obsessed with our commitments and our partner during this time.

We may also experience Pluto through our partner or partnerships, experiencing manipulation and controlling behaviors; we must be especially wary of resisting change and holding onto lower vibrational attachments. It’s time to let go of destructive attachments and connections. How can we grow and evolve in our partnerships? Is there a relationship that we need to grow and evolve out of?

This aspect could also express itself through sexual tension; there is a strong desire for love in its physical expression. However, keep your standards high, so you can come upon a love that fulfills all your needs — definitely don’t start a relationship with “just anyone”, in order to avoid being alone.

Remember to be true to your own values; wait for someone with whom you can have a relationship based on trust, love and a genuine desire for intimacy — and work on being worth finding, in the meantime 🙂 As best as you can, stay grounded in love, not fear. Stay flexible and open-minded. As best as you can, nurture yourself; make sure you have everything you need to be able to come from a place of inner strength & empowerment.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 18-24 degrees of Aries, Capricorn, Libra or Cancer? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Scorpio (Venus being the ruler of Taurus and Libra, while Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio)

Friday at 11:52pm EDT, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC) that lasts for 5 hours, until Saturday, March 24th at 4:53am EDT. Use this intuitive time as an opportunity to connect with others, exchange information, and move personal projects forward.

As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Friday evening ahead of time 🙂

Saturday (March 24th): the Moon remains in chatty, versatile Gemini and VoC until 4:53am EDT (see Wednesday night/Thursday very early morning for details).

Saturday at 4:53am EDT, the Moon moves into protective, nurturing Cancer, where it will journey until Monday morning. With this Moon placement, we are more sensitive to what people say and therefore our feelings are more easily hurt — so be kind to yourself and others. Self-Care is key for the next two and half days 😉

Emotional safety is important to us as well; we like connecting to the familiar and we enjoy nurturing ourselves and others — home and family call to us, for instance. Make sure though, that your own glass is full before letting others drink from it; if you don’t, you might start to feel drained and resentful. This Moon placement also starts the build-up towards the first Quarter Moon (exact on Saturday late morning).

Saturday at 11:35am EDT, the first Quarter Moon in almost 4 degrees of Cancer becomes exact. We started to feel this aspect build from the moment the Moon entered Cancer (earlier today).

The Moon in protective, introverted Cancer makes a challenging aspect to the Sun in bold, fast-paced Aries.

We feel compelled to take action. Last week on March 17th, the New Moon in Pisces was exact: “Seeds” planted then are probably “sprouting” by now — and making their first real contact with the outside world. As such, this a time to stretch and grow, and create some forward momentum. We may feel anxious or unusually busy.

As best as you can, go one breath at a time. Allow for changes, remain flexible (as much as possible), and find creative solutions for your day-to-day interactions with others.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 2-6 degrees of Cancer, Aries, Capricorn or Libra? If so, you will feel the effects of this first Quarter Moon more strongly than otherwise. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

Saturday early afternoon, a challenging Sun/Mars aspect becomes exact at 12:08pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Wednesday on; it will remain strong until next week, Tuesday (March 27th). This invites us to stretch ourselves and grow beyond what we know ourselves to be.

We might feel driven by a restless desire to “do something”, but we must stay grounded in reality, or our impulsive actions could involve us in needless arguments, or leave us spinning our wheels (it would feel more like they were spinning in mid-air!)

Our reactions might be defensive or competitive. We might not be willing to compromise or negotiate. However, energy output can run high if we choose to focus. As best as you can, take care of your body and pay attention to its needs.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 1-7 degrees of Aries, Capricorn, Cancer, or Libra? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Aries (the Sun rules Leo; Mars is the ruler of Aries)

Sunday (March 25th): the Moon remains protective, nurturing Cancer all day (see Saturday early morning for details).

Sunday early morning, a somewhat challenging Venus/Jupiter aspect becomes exact at 5:08am EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Saturday on; it will remain strong until Sunday night. This aspect operates more on an internal level. We feel uneasy about something, almost awkward — and we need to make a choice. An inner awareness needs to be developed in order to see what needs adjusting.

This aspect is a fork in the road: We could take a path that leads toward following our personal goals and inspiring others by being direct and enthusiastic. We could also take the path that will lead to us increasing our understanding of intimacy and shared our resources with others. Either way, we can develop a new perspective on how to approach these things. Awareness is key with this aspect: What is needed? How can we serve the broader view?

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 21-24 degrees of Aries or Scorpio? If so, you will feel this aspect quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Sagittarius (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius).

A heads-up for next Monday (March 26th): the Moon remains protective, nurturing Cancer until 7:45am EDT (see Saturday early morning for details). At 2:58am EDT, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC) that lasts for almost 5 hours, until 7:45am EDT. At that time, the Moon moves into fun and attention-loving Leo, where it will journey until Wednesday late morning. More about all the details in next week’s forecast 😉
