Mutual Respect & Loyalty
This week’s headline items: Eclipse season remains in strong effect all week. The Saturn Station intensifies on Monday and that day also marks the time to start taking actions on our New Moon intentions. On Tuesday, Mercury starts to slow down, as it starts its Station phase, preparing to go retrograde. The first Quarter Moon in Leo becomes exact on Wednesday afternoon; the Sun changes signs from Taurus to Gemini on Thursday afternoon; finally, Saturn comes to a halt and begins its yearly Retrograde phase on Sunday early morning.
There will be four Moon VoC phases this week: Monday very early morning (for a little over 6 hours), Wednesday afternoon (for almost 2 hours), Friday late afternoon (for a little over 5.5 hours), and Sunday early evening (for almost 5.5 hours).
Before we get to this week’s forecast, let me mention this:

Now, this week’s Forecast…
Monday, May 17th:
Monday, the Moon remains in protective, nurturing Cancer. It will journey there until 8:44am EDT. With this Moon placement, we are more sensitive to what people say and therefore our feelings are more easily hurt — so be kind to yourself and others. Self-Care is key this morning 😉
Emotional safety is important to us as well; we like connecting to the familiar and we enjoy nurturing ourselves and others — home and family call to us, for instance. Make sure though, that your glass is filled before letting others drink from it, otherwise you might start to feel drained and resentful.
Monday at 2:23am EDT, we enter a Moon VoC that will last for a little over 6 hours, until 8:44am EDT. Use this intuitive time to empower each other in regards to earthly issues and mutually support each other in practical ways.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Monday morning ahead of time.
Monday at 8:44am EDT, the Moon moves into fun and attention-loving Leo, where it will journey until Wednesday late afternoon. We may lack objectivity and struggle with backing down or compromising. We all love to be admired — or at the very least acknowledged — for our greatness 🙂
So hand out some compliments — let people know how proud you are of them, tell them how much you love them. Come from the heart in this and all other things… be honest and authentic, as best you can. Fun, games and romance are a big part of this energy as well. You might also enjoy spending time with little ones.
If there are no “outer children” around, how about getting in touch with your “inner child” — it’s definitely easier for the next two-and-a-half days. What are you most grateful for today? What would be heaps and heaps of fun? What would be so much fun, you let out a tiny squeak, just thinking of it? This Moon placement start the build up toward the first Quarter Moon (exact Wednesday afternoon).
Monday, after 8:44am EDT, if you set intentions last Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, after the New Moon became exact, today will be the best time to take relevant actions. If you wrote your intentions down, go back and take another look at what came through intuitively. If you didn’t write anything down, get quiet for a moment and check in with yourself: What actions are calling to you?
Also on Monday, the Saturn Station intensifies in 13.5 degrees of Aquarius. As I mentioned last week Monday (May 10th) already, “Stationing” is when a planet moves more slowly through the sky. When a planet stations, its energy becomes more “exalted”; in the case of Saturn, this means we all feel the need to more fully face what is currently so, our actual reality.
Ask yourself: Where am I being asked to look at my long-term goals and ambitions when it comes to building a sustainable future for myself and others? Around becoming a more mature citizen of the world? Where do I need to commit towards building a solid foundation in my various communities or networks? What will time do if I take these steps? And if I don’t?
As best as you can during the time of the station, bring flexibility and open-mindedness to any frustrations. The station-phase will feel most intense until until May 28th, but altogether, it will run until June 4th — and Saturn will start its 4.5-month Retrograde phase, on Sunday (May 23rd)… more on that later this week 😉
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 11-16 degrees of Aquarius, Leo, Taurus or Scorpio? Ascendant or Sun-sign in Capricorn? If so, you will…

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 11-16 degrees of Aquarius, Leo, Taurus or Scorpio? If so, you will be more affected by this station. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Capricorn, since Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn.
Tuesday, May 18th:
Tuesday, the Moon remains in attention-loving Leo all day (see Monday late morning for details).
Tuesday morning, an opportune Venus/Chiron aspect becomes exact at 7:44am EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Sunday on; and it will remain strong until Wednesday evening. It’s an opportunity to bring healing to our wounds around relationships or our sense of self-worth.
We get a chance to love ourselves and heal deep fears of not being “good enough”. Healing happens much faster when we can open to forgiving ourselves and others. As best as you can, bring compassion and understanding to yourself, to others, and to those past experiences that wounded you.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 9-14 degrees of Gemini, Aries, Leo or Aquarius? If so, you will be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus or Libra (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra)
Also on, Tuesday, Mercury starts to slow down (“station”) in Gemini, preparing to come to halt next week, Saturday (May 29th) — when it will begin its 3.5-week Retrograde phase. More on that next week… This station will last until June 7th, and during this time, we will feel Mercury’s energies more strongly.
Pay attention to anything “in your face” in any of the following areas: communications, short travels, transportation of any kind, communication devices. You will get a chance to re-organize yourself once Mercury goes retrograde (May 29th).
For the next 3 weeks (until June 7th), we might experience delays or misunderstandings; things could feel “off” or stagnant. It might be a good idea to give yourself some extra time when getting ready to go somewhere — and that goes for the journey itself, too — especially if you intend to drive or use public transportation. Going with the flow is definitely recommended at this time.
Be extra-patient if you intend to buy, sell or ship big-ticket items, especially if they are transportation or communication devices like anything connected with planes, trains, cars, phones, computers, tablets, etc. Best of all (if possible): wait until after July 7th when the Post-shadow phase is over.
If you are familiar with your natal chart — take a look at your natal Mercury, and where 24º of Gemini lands in your chart, to see how this might play out for you 😉 If you prefer that I take a look at this for you, feel free to either book a 25-minute Soul Purpose Reading with me, or ask your question during the next Monthly Forecasting Forum on May 28th. Some of us will feel the effects of this station more than others: those of us with Gemini or Virgo as our Sun- or Rising-Sign (Ascendant) — and those of us with personal planets (or angles) in 18-26 degrees of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius or Pisces.
Wednesday, May 19th:
Wednesday, the Moon remains in attention-loving Leo until 4:59pm EDT (see Monday late morning for details).
Wednesday afternoon, at 3:13pm EDT, the first Quarter Moon in 29 degrees of Leo becomes exact. We started to feel this aspect from the moment the Moon entered Leo Monday late morning. The Moon in fun and attention-loving Leo makes a challenging aspect to the Sun in steady, peaceful Taurus.
We feel compelled to take action. The New Moon took place a week ago (May 11th); “seeds” planted then are probably “sprouting” by now — and making their first real contact with the outside world. This is therefore a time to stretch and grow — and create some forward momentum. We may feel anxious or unusually busy.
As best as you can, go one breath at a time. Allow for changes, remain flexible (as much as possible), and find creative solutions for your day-to-day interactions with others.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in any of the following: 27-29 degrees of Leo, Taurus, Scorpio, Aquarius, or 0-1 degrees of Virgo, Gemini, Sagittarius, or Pisces? If so, you will feel the effects of this first Quarter Moon more strongly than otherwise. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).
Also on, Wednesday at 3:31pm EDT, we enter a Moon VoC that will last for almost 2 hours, until 4:59pm EDT. Use this intuitive time to make some adjustments in your life. As best as you can, find creative solutions to seemingly unsolvable situations. Make space for creative self-expression & fun, and for connecting to physical pleasures and what is most important to you on the physical plane.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Wednesday late afternoon ahead of time.
Wednesday at 4:59pm EDT, the Moon moves into detail-oriented, practical Virgo, where it will journey until Friday late evening; turning our focus toward the practical and wholesome. We are generous with our time/services and we love to help others. We also have a fondness for science and anything that makes sense in our world — things and knowledge we can apply and use.
Health might also come into focus at this time. We notice the parts that make up the whole; this is a great time to see if our daily routines (eating, work, self-care, etc.) align with our long-term goals.
Wednesday late evening, a harmonious Venus/Saturn aspect becomes exact at 9:58pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Monday morning on, it will remain strong until Saturday morning. This signals a time when we don’t take connections with others lightly; we are more attracted to long-term commitment than to “casual”.
We feel a strong sense of responsibility to society and see ourselves generally as responsible and trustworthy. We have increased sensitivity to the needs of others. Mutual respect and loyalty become especially important to us at this time; this can strengthen and refresh old friendships too.
We bring more maturity, respect, and integrity to our interactions — and this is a good time to approach like-minded people or those in our communities (locally and online) for their input. This doesn’t have to be “solemn”, so ask yourself: What if I connected to myself, then to others, for an exchange of information?
If a book or a song had a message about the process of maturing, what might that message be? What might a poem have to say on the subject? How could I personally encourage new approaches and priorities?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 10-17 degrees of Gemini, Aquarius, or Libra? If so, you will feel this aspect quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Capricorn (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn).
Thursday, May 20th:
Thursday, the Moon remains in detail-oriented, practical Virgo all day (see Wednesday late afternoon for details).
Thursday afternoon, we are invited to connect with like-minded people and learn something new about our unique talents or value in the world. We are able to better connect to anything that requires attention to detail. We might also perhaps implement revolutionary health routines or other systems in our day to day life that support our values and make life more enjoyable. (Moon in Virgo trines Uranus in Taurus, exact at 2:09pm EDT)
Thursday afternoon, at 3:37pm EDT, the Sun changes signs from steady, sensual Taurus to versatile, fast-thinking Gemini, where it will journey until June 20th. With the Sun in Gemini, the urge for self-expression is strong. We may be extra interested in collecting and sharing information. This is a time when curiosity and adaptability are favored. We are more flexible, changeable and adaptable — which makes us quite social as well.
We enjoy intellectual conversations and we can easily become bored if we are not getting enough mental stimulation at this time. We are more objective and observant, but prefer to keep things light and easy. There is usually a nervousness in the air at this time as well, as we are constantly seeking to connect and have new interactions. “Sharing” is the name of the game.
All this is especially true if you are a Leo or Gemini Sun-sign or Rising-sign. As a Gemini, you will feel a good dose of confidence and playfulness in the next four weeks; as a Leo your vitality will most likely speed up and you feel more chatty than usual.
Thursday late afternoon, we may experience some internal discomfort and need to make some more inner adjustments. We feel nudged toward taking responsibility, and making a commitment to society, or to any humanitarian cause that will create a sustainable future for all. However, we also feel a need to improve our daily health and work routines. Where could we use more clarity? Where do we need to take a closer look in our lives? (Moon in Virgo quincunxes Saturn in Aquarius, exact at 5:08pm EDT)
Thursday evening, we feel a need to be precise and practical in our thinking and with our work, and we also want to connect, interact and learn from others. This tension invites us to stretch a little and resolve it through creative solutions — the key here is to be of service, so we don’t drive ourselves or others crazy. You may feel a little scatter-brained or all over the map. As best as you can, stay flexible — and don’t be too hard on yourself. (Moon in Virgo squares Venus in Gemini, exact at 7:01pm EDT)
Friday, May 21st:
Friday, the Moon remains in detail-oriented, practical Virgo until 9:35pm EDT (see Wednesday late afternoon for details).
Friday late morning, a challenging Sun/Jupiter aspect becomes exact at 11:03am EDT. We started feeling this aspect build from this Monday evening on; it will be strong until next week, Monday evening (May 24th). This aspect says “stretch and grow!”. There is a feeling of enthusiasm and excitement in the air; it almost seems as if we could move mountains.
Awareness is key: Be alert for undue optimism, that could lead to overextending or over-promising: As best as you can, stay connected to what’s real — for instance, avoid exaggeration as best as you can, especially when it comes to your dreams and spiritual perspectives.
This is a time when we can accomplish quite a bit — if we don’t let ourselves get too overwhelmed by all the thoughts and possibilities flooding our consciousness. As best as you can, take it one moment at a time, staying grounded in reality.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in the following: 0-3 degrees of Gemini, Pisces, Virgo, Sagittarius, or 27-29 degrees of Taurus, Aquarius, Leo, or Scorpio? If so, you will be more aware of this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Sagittarius (the Sun rules Leo; Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius).
Friday at 3:56pm EDT, we enter a Moon VoC that will last for a little over 5.5 hours, until 9:35pm EDT. Use this intuitive time to empower each other around earthly issues and support each other in practical ways. Your attention to detail is enhanced; you might implement new health routines or other systems that support your long-term goals.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Friday afternoon until the late evening ahead of time.
Friday at 9:35pm EDT, the Moon moves into harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra, where it will journey until Sunday late evening. The energy of the Libra Moon helps us be naturally courteous and diplomatic; we are more polite at this time, as we seek the approval of others.
We very much want to maintain equal, fair relationships at this time, and are therefore open to making compromises and negotiating. These next two days are a great time for mediation — but our need for peace and accompanying aversion to direct conflict could pull us to “yes” more easily than we might like.
We may also be able see both sides of the equation so well that we can’t make decisions. As best as you can, find an inner balance with this and communicate what needs to be said with grace and charm — even if it’s “No” 😉 One last quick note: this is also a great time for anything to do with visual arts.
Saturday, May 22nd:
Saturday, the Moon remains in harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra all day (see Friday late evening for details).
Saturday late afternoon, we become more aware that we need to find a balance between two very different energies — on the one hand, taking a compassionate approach towards our personal goals, while being assertive in the world — and on the other hand, our need to connect and collaborate with others. Ask yourself: what if taking a compassionate approach towards myself actually made for more fulfilling connections with others? (Moon in Libra opposes Chiron in Aries, exact at 5:15pm EDT)
Also on, Saturday late afternoon, calls for some inner adjustments, as we feel uneasy or awkward, and need to make a choice. Making this choice demands we develop inner awareness around two very different urges: on the one hand, we want to innovate in the area of our values (and maybe also have some financial breakthroughs); on the other hand, the feel the need to attend to our one-on-one relationships, supporting them (and perhaps collaborating). (Moon in Libra quincunxes Uranus in Taurus, exact at 5:34pm EDT
Saturday evening: we sense harmonious connections even though we are focused on making progress. Where our visions for the future are concerned, we are invited to bring a new level of authenticity, and make realistic choices around connecting with others. (Moon in Libra trines Saturn in Aquarius, exact at 8:11pm EDT)
Saturday late evening, a challenging Mercury/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 10:43pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Tuesday night on, it will remain strong until June 10th — an unusually long time due to Mercuries Station & Retrograde Phase.
This aspect asks us to stretch ourselves and grow. We may experience a lack of clarity and objectivity. We might make embarrassing errors, neglect important details, or carry some delusions now. Our lack of clarity may make it difficult for others to understand us.
We are more imaginative now, and easily swayed by the opinions of others. We can be highly creative and inspired under this influence, but also overly sensitive, touchy, or impractical.
It can be hard to follow routines, or to concentrate on monotonous tasks (like work tasks or studies that involve attention to detail or rote learning); as best as you can, be compassionate with yourself and others during these 23 days. If you have an important contract to sign or negotiate, if possible, wait until after June 10th.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 20-26 degrees of Gemini, Pisces, Sagittarius and Virgo? If so, you are more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Pisces (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Neptune rules Pisces).
Sunday, May 23rd:
Sunday, the Moon remains in harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra until 11:00pm EDT (see Friday late evening for details).
Sunday early morning, at 5:21am EDT, Saturn comes to a halt in 13.5 degrees of Aquarius and begins its yearly Retrograde phase until Oct. 10th. We will get very clear on what we are truly committed to — or not — and on how we are living our lives in regards to our physical reality. We will also get clear on what is realistic when it comes to our various networks and communities (online and locally).
Saturn represents our structures, responsibilities, commitments — and our ability to “do” life on life’s terms. When this planet comes to a halt and turns retrograde, we get to see where we need to create or renew our commitments. As best as you can, take it all in and see where you would like to make adjustments. You will get a chance to do just that for the next 4.5 months.
If you have an Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 5-15 degrees of Aquarius, Leo, Taurus, or Scorpio, you will be more affected by this Retrograde-phase. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Capricorn (Saturn being the ruler of Capricorn).
Sunday at 5:36pm EDT, we enter a Moon VoC that will last for almost 5.5 hours, until 11pm EDT. Use this intuitive time to make some adjustments and find creative ways to work with the energies at play: On the one hand, as best as you can, collaborate with others and play nice, on the other hand, be authentic and truthful about what you want to build long-term.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Saturday late afternoon until the late evening ahead of time.
Sunday at 11pm EDT, the Moon moves into passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio, where it will journey until next week Tuesday late evening (May 25th). Emotional authenticity is extremely important to us at this time; anything less than 100% emotional honesty could be perceived as flat-out dishonest. Once we feel safe trusting someone, we want to merge with them, preferably forever… as long as our trust is never betrayed.
The Moon in Scorpio urges us to uncover our own power. This occurs by a process of subtraction — it urges us to let go of whatever disempowers us. It’s therefore an excellent time to look at “old” fears, limiting habits or emotional attachments, especially those stemming from past traumas.
Moon in Scorpio tends to run right over ambiguity — it’s “in or out”, “with us or against us”, “love me or leave me”. It can therefore be stormy — a cold winter storm, or a torrid tropical storm of passion, depending on how we “work” the energies 🙂
Manipulation and paranoia are the lower vibrations of this aspect, so as best you can, be straightforward — act in good faith and assume it in others. Best of all, be truly present to the fluctuations of your feelings — no matter if they’re “polite” or “timely”. Feelings aren’t facts, but they are information — and heeding them will help you embrace all of who you are.
Know thyself — and love thyself — you shall be set free. Remember: Love connects us to the Power within; Fear causes “Force” to show up — and that’s ultimately what disempowers us and others.
And…
A heads up for next Monday (May 24th): the Moon remains in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio all day (see Sunday late evening for details — May 23rd). Monday, the Moon in Scorpio trines Jupiter in Pisces, exact at 12:37am EDT, it quincunxes Sun in Gemini, exact at 4:28am EDT, it quincunxes Chiron in Aries, exact at 5:54pm EDT, it opposes Uranus in Taurus, exact at 6:15pm EDT, and it squares Saturn in Aquarius, exact at 8:35pm EDT. More about all the details in next week’s forecast 🙂
