What Needs to Be Completed?

This week’s headline items: the last Quarter Moon in Aquarius becomes exact on Monday afternoon; Mercury changes signs from Taurus to Gemini on Monday late evening; the Balsamic Moon phase begins Friday late morning/early afternoon; and Venus changes signs from Taurus to Gemini on Saturday late evening.

There will be three Moon VoC phases this week: Tuesday evening (for 2 hours), Friday early morning (for a little over 4 hours), and Sunday evening (for a brief 56 minutes).

Now, this week’s Forecast…

Monday, May 3rd:

Monday is a big day (astrologically speaking): the Moon remains in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius all day. It will journey there until Tuesday late evening. The energy of the Aquarian Moon relates to our instinct for improvement. Reactions are more intellectual than emotional; interactions more impersonal than personal. We are likely to have an increased fascination with the new and unusual.

Social gatherings, anything connected with group ideals and goals for the future, brainstorming, new ideas and methods, progress: all these are promoted during the time the Moon moves through Aquarius. Again: we have our eyes on the future — or on outer space 🙂 Personal freedom becomes paramount.

Monday early morning, a challenging Mercury/Jupiter aspect becomes exact at 5:33am EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from  last week Saturday (May 1st) on; it will remain strong until this Tuesday night. This aspect asks that we grow and evolve in the following areas: how we communicate, think, and what (or how) we share.

We may have to find creative solutions to communicate; we may have to learn about our thinking process and conditioning. “Listening” might not be our strong suit at this time: we want to share our opinions, concepts, and long-term visions without limitations — and are thus inclined toward exaggeration, often unintended.

We might experience stubbornness and have trouble agreeing how to put our ideas into practice. The upside to all this: we can be extraordinarily funny, interesting and creative.

As Jupiter and Mercury are exalted at the time of this aspect — due to both being in the last degree of their respective signs — impatience and self-righteousness might show up, but moving faster or digging our heels in will not necessarily get us where we would like to be. What if you slowed down just 5% when connecting with others? What if that helped you listen 5% more? What might become possible in your collaborations if you were 5% more aware of what you are assuming in any given moment?

If we were being completely honest with ourselves, is “being right” really all that it’s cracked up to be? Do you feel a greater or lesser connection to others when you insist on “being right”?

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in the following: 25-29 degrees of Taurus, Aquarius, Scorpio, Leo, or 0-2 degrees of Gemini, Pisces, Sagittarius or Virgo? If so, you will feel this aspect quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Sagittarius (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius).

Monday morning, a challenging Sun/Saturn aspect becomes exact at 6:02am EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from last week Thursday night (April 30/31st) on; it will remain strong until this Thursday. We’re asked to stretch and grow beyond what we have previously known ourselves to be; our commitments and responsibilities towards the collective are calling us to get out of our comfort zone.

Find creative ways to honor both your comforts (and what you most value), and your desire to build a vision for humanity that lasts and is sustainable. Allow for a slow and steady approach, even if life puts up roadblocks, or throws some curve-balls.

What if you just knew that you could handle whatever shows up? Would you rather build structures that are sustainable for generations to come, or take a more enjoyable and down-to-earth approach to achieving things? Would you rather achieve status in your communities (in person or online) or honor and love yourself exactly as you are? What if it were not a question of “or” but of “and”?

What if you just decided to bring maturity and self-responsibility to the table when dealing with your various affiliations, even if you don’t agree all of the time?

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 10-16 degrees of Taurus, Aquarius, Leo, Scorpio? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Capricorn (the Sun rules Leo; Saturn rules Capricorn).

Monday afternoon, at 3:50pm EDT, the last Quarter Moon in 13.5 degrees of Aquarius becomes exact. The Moon in Aquarius makes a challenging aspect to the Sun in Taurus. We started to feel this aspect build from the moment the Moon entered Aquarius on Sunday morning (May 2nd). This may bring challenges; however, it also energizes us to look at what needs to be completed — and what needs to be changed.

This Moon phase brings us closer to May 11th’s New Moon in Taurus. With the last Quarter Moon, rather than starting major new projects, it serves us to take a look at what needs to be completed. What — if anything — needs last-minute adjustments? What did you discover since April 11th? What did it mean for you? What actions could shift the things you seeded or started in mid-late April?

As best as you can, find creative solutions for anything that comes up (whether internally, or with others).

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 11-16 degrees of Taurus, Aquarius, Leo or Scorpio? If so, you will feel this month’s last Quarter Moon quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

Monday at 10:49pm EDT, Mercury changes signs from steady, slow-paced Taurus to curious, quick-witted Gemini, where it will journey until July 11th, longer than usual due to the Mercury Retrograde phase in late May/June. For the next 10 weeks, our thinking shifts gears: Mercury — the energy of communication — will pick up the pace of our lives just a little.

Mental exchanges and abilities take priority for the next 10 weeks — talking, writing, sharing, connecting to the world around us in whatever way we can (internet, phone, in person, TV, radio…). This is a time with great potential for studying and learning, curiosity and open-mindedness, and social/intellectual growth.

Make sure you don’t exhaust yourself during this time. As best as you can, keep taking breaks and let yourself see the larger picture now and again. Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini or Virgo? If so, you will feel…

Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini or Virgo? If so, you will feel the pick up in pace more strongly.

Tuesday, May 4th:

Tuesday, the Moon in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius until 10:09pm EDT (see Monday morning for details).

Tuesday at 8:05pm EDT, we enter a Moon VoC that will last for a little over 2 hours, until 10:09pm EDT.  Use this intuitive time to connect with like-minded people in an expansive fashion; as best as you can, make sharing and connecting an adventure! Explore your beliefs in connection with humanity’s future and look for a vision from a larger vantage point.

As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Tuesday evening ahead of time.

Tuesday at 10:09pm EDT, the Moon moves into creative, sensitive Pisces, where it will journey until Friday morning. This Moon placement often finds us more sensitive, intuitive, idealistic and imaginative than normal. We also have a greater capacity for compassion, sympathy and affection for all — but especially for those who suffer or can be regarded as the underdog.

But… that very idealism could also be our downfall at this time: We tend to see the best in everyone and everything, and when reality doesn’t match our idyllic vision, we might feel upset and even victimized by those harsh realities. A way out of this is to channel our idealism into spiritual or creative endeavors.

It’s also a great time for releasing fears — especially the ones based on a sense of separation — and experiencing “oneness”. Feelings tend to flow more freely; as best as you can, let them — in fact, “going with the flow” is the best way to go for the next couple of days.

Wednesday, May 5th:

Wednesday, the Moon remains in creative, sensitive Pisces all day (see Tuesday late evening for details).

Wednesday very early morning: those of us who are awake at this time may well feel a need to go within — and also want to connect, share and learn from others. This tension clearly invites us to stretch a little and resolve it through creative solutions — the key here is to listen to our intuition and our “energy body”, so we don’t drive ourselves or others crazy. (Moon in Pisces squares Mercury in Gemini, exact at 1:54am EDT)

Wednesday early afternoon: we are invited to gently and compassionately connect with others (and with ourselves). Taking intuitively-guided actions on family- or home-related issues works best at this time. (Moon in Pisces trines Mars in Cancer, exact at 12:07pm EDT)

Wednesday evening, we get an opportunity to be very present, to connect with others and share a new vision about the Earth, or to reinvent how we connect with “the good things in life”.

As best as you can, bring a sense of flow and faith to who you are being; allow yourself to intuitively share some progressive, new ideas about what is important to you, and things that could make yours and other people’s life easier on a very practical level. (Moon in Pisces sextiles Uranus in Taurus, exact at 6:57pm EDT)

Thursday, May 6th:

Thursday, the Moon remains in creative, sensitive Pisces all day (see Tuesday late evening for details).

Thursday morning, a harmonious Venus/Pluto aspect becomes exact at 7:25am EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Monday evening on; it will remain strong until Saturday evening. This aspect brings a fruitful and rewarding period in our lives. We experience new depths of intimacy (with an existing or new partner, or with ourselves), we learn to appreciate the important people in our lives, and our value system transforms and evolves.

This is likely an excellent period for finances as well. Work we’ve done might pay off, and we are able to manage our finances better, with more attention to sustainability, planning, and strategy — as well as the elimination of anything that no longer serves us. We might renew a commitment, or bring new, deeper and more intimate energy into a relationship under the influence of this aspect.

Our sexual lives might get a real boost now, as we tend to want to connect on a deeper level. We might find ourselves strongly attracted to someone, almost to the point of obsession. If this aspect connects with any of your personal planets, you might just meet the “love of your life”.

One thing is for sure — relationships experienced now are bound to be unforgettable. While this transit tends to signal new or strengthened relationships, any relationship that ends during this cycle may leave us feeling liberated. What are you feeling drawn to on a deep instinctual level? What deep desires are surfacing? What values can you no longer compromise on?

Those of us who have their Ascendant (or personal planets) in the following: 23-29 degrees of Taurus, Capricorn, Virgo, or 0 degrees of Gemini, Aquarius, or Libra will be most blessed by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Scorpio (Venus being the ruler of Taurus and Libra, while Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio).

Thursday late afternoon, we feel more sensitive and need to slow down a little. This is a great time for spiritual or creative endeavors. Energy work, or anything that requires our intuitive side, will work best for the next several hours. (Moon in Pisces conjuncts Neptune in Pisces, exact at 5:17pm EDT)

Friday, May 7th:

Friday, the Moon remains in creative, sensitive Pisces until 7:52am EDT (see Tuesday late evening for details).

Friday at 3:36am EDT, we enter a Moon VoC that will last for a little over 4 hours, until 7:52am EDT.  Use this intuitive time as an opportunity to be very present — and also to connect with others through what you value. This is a great time for getting practical advice around financial stuff. As best as you can, bring a sense of flow and faith to your interactions with others.

As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Friday morning ahead of time.

Friday at 7:52am EDT, the Moon moves into pioneering, fast-paced Aries, where it will journey until Sunday evening. Life is an adventure, we’re more open to new ideas, and have great enthusiasm for new projects. Patience is certainly not our strong suit at this time, but we can decide quickly, and act immediately.

Our independence and dynamism are important to us right now, so we may find it hard to be disciplined or accept advice at this time; in general, our responses to others tend to be more assertive or even aggressive. If you find your foot tapping, try hitting the gym, or finding other ways to burn off the body’s excess energy.

Also on, Friday around 11:25am EDT, the Balsamic Moon phase begins, when the Moon reaches 2 degrees of Aries. This lasts until Tuesday morning, when the New Moon in Taurus becomes exact (for those of you who are impatiently waiting for my New Moon video, click here after May 5th). We are being asked to slow down and get quiet, so we can listen to our intuition.

For some of us, this might be a stretch. As best as you can: stay grounded, take a deep breath and exhale any tensions. Rather than starting something brand-new, put all that energy into completing existing projects or processes. This is also a great time for letting go of whatever no longer serves us. What if you could hear the voice of your inner wisdom? What might it be saying?

Saturday, May 8th:

Saturday, the Moon remains in pioneering, fast-paced Aries all day (see Friday morning for details).

Saturday late morning, a challenging Venus/Jupiter aspect becomes exact at 9:38am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Wednesday evening on; it will remain strong until next week Monday afternoon (May 10th). This aspect asks that we question our most fundamental beliefs and conditioning around our visions for humanity (and the people that share those visions) and how we view our relationships to the planet and our own personal resources (aka money).

We have the opportunity here to grow beyond our understanding of what our values get us. Issues connected to love, relationships, and whatever is most valuable to us, can seem overwhelming at this time. This is because we have a tendency to overindulge or over-promise.

We mean well, because we are feeling quite optimistic at this time — but we may underestimate how much time we actually have, or how good a fit something actually is. Overspending could be connected to this aspect as well, as could making assumptions in our various communities or networks; as best as you can, bring a non-judgmental awareness to any such tendencies.

What are you observing about yourself and your collaborations with others? What is enough… and what is too much?

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in the following: 26-29 degrees of Taurus, Aquarius, Scorpio, Leo, or 0-2 degrees of Gemini, Pisces, Sagittarius or Virgo? If so, you will feel this aspect quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Sagittarius (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius).

Saturday late evening, at 10:01pm EDT, Venus changes signs from steady, calm, sensual Taurus to chatty, social, versatile Gemini.  Venus, the energy of love, “relating” and finances will journey through Gemini until June 2nd. For the next 3.5 weeks, we value mental stimulation and frequent changes of scenery in our love relationships.

We love connecting and sharing ourselves with others. As long as we don’t get bored, we will stick around — but as soon as we disengage mentally, we begin to thirst for interesting conversations with new people, in new places and/or situations. Love is playful and lighthearted for the next 3.5 weeks and humor plays a part in all our relationships.

Our finances might fluctuate at this time, as we don’t invest in anything for long enough to know whether it would have actually made a profit. That said, this sign-change actually favors financial transactions that benefit from speed, or wide dispersal of resources — it’s a great time for short-term investments.

As best as you can, stay open-minded and flexible toward love and finances. Curiosity towards life and love is a great gift as Venus moves through Gemini — you never know where things will go at this time — and if nothing else, that attitude makes it hard to be bored for even a second 😉

Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus or Libra? If so, you will feel more chatty for the next 3.5 weeks. Your heart will want to connect to friends and have several activities going all at once. Learning or teaching something new might be just the thing for you to do right now. If you are a Gemini Sun-sign or Rising-sign, you are going to have more love and beauty in your life for as long as Venus is in your sign.

Sunday, May 9th:

Sunday, the Moon remains in pioneering, fast-paced Aries until 7:46pm EDT (see Friday morning for details).

Sunday at 6:50pm EDT, we enter a brief Moon VoC that will last for 56 minutes, until 7:46pm EDT.  Use this intuitive time as an opportunity to connect with like-minded people and move a project forward that serves your community. It’s time for a new perspective: What new vantage point could we take? What needs to be considered, so we can move forward faster?

As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Sunday evening ahead of time.

Sunday at 7:46pm EDT, the Moon moves into steady, peaceful Taurus, where it will journey until next week, Wednesday morning (May 12th). We love all physical comforts, prefer consistency, and would rather stick with what we know works well. In other words: change is not our favorite thing and “rushing things” goes against our grain.

What is our favorite thing for the next two days? It’s probably, slowing down and getting in touch with whatever delights our senses 😉

And…

A heads up for next Monday (May 10th): the Moon remains in steady, peaceful Taurus all day (see Sunday evening – May 9th for details). In the late evening, an opportune Mercury/Chiron aspect becomes exact at 10:44pm EDT; we started to feel this aspect from May 8th on; it will remain strong until May 12th. Also on Monday, Saturn starts its Station phase (slows down, preparing to go retrograde), this station will last until June 4th. More about all the details in next week’s forecast 🙂
