Our Desire to be Whole & Empowered — Forecast for Nov. 16th – 22nd
This week’s headline items: Mars’s Station phase continues all week; Neptune’s Station intensifies on Wednesday; on Thursday afternoon, Mercury ends its post-Shadow phase, and it’s also time to start taking actions on our New Moon intentions. On Friday, Eclipse season begins; Venus changes signs from Libra to Scorpio on Saturday morning; the Sun changes signs from Scorpio to Sagittarius on Saturday afternoon, and the first Quarter Moon in Pisces becomes exact Saturday late evening.
There will be three Moon VoC phases this week: Tuesday very early morning (for almost 9 hours), Thursday late morning (4 hours), Friday evening (a little over 27 hours).
Now, this week’s Forecast…
Monday, Nov. 16th:
Monday, the Moon remains in optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius all day. It will journey there until Tuesday late morning. We’re strongly motivated to explore and learn. We’re not likely to be big fans of routine — diversity and new adventures work best at this time — we’re also physically restless and need to burn that off with activity and physical exercise.
We tend to feel more open, optimistic and inspired — but we also have a high degree of independence — and taking these two influences together, this means we’d rather inspire others to do things our way, as opposed to issuing or obeying orders.
Inspiring others could come easier than normal, as we can see the bigger picture, leaving us confident that others will agree with us, once they see what we see.
As best as you can, speak your truth without assuming that everyone is on the same page as you. Improvisation works well for us at this time, as we are spontaneous and love living on the edge — just watch out you aren’t overdoing or overstating things.
Monday very early morning, a challenging Venus/Jupiter aspect becomes exact at 12:33am EST. We started to feel this aspect from last week Friday afternoon (Nov. 13th) on; it will remain strong until Wednesday evening (Nov. 18th). This aspect asks that we question our most fundamental beliefs and conditioning around our values and relationships.
We have the opportunity here to grow beyond our understanding of what our values get us. Issues connected to love, relationships, and whatever is most valuable to us, can seem overwhelming at this time. This is because we have a tendency to overindulge or over-promise.
We mean well, because we are feeling quite optimistic at this time — but we may underestimate how much time we actually have, or how good a fit something actually is. Overspending, overindulging and over-promising could be connected to this aspect as well (as could making assumptions in our relationships); as best as you can, bring a non-judgmental awareness to any such tendencies.
As best as you can, weigh the benefits and limitations of any given situation or relationship (including those that lie within yourself or the other people involved), then base your decisions on what works best in the moment. Ask yourself: If I were less concerned with morality and “rightness”, what might I perceive about this from a neutral rather than a personal perspective?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 20-26 degrees of Libra, Capricorn, Aries or Cancer ? If so, you will feel this aspect quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Sagittarius (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius).
Monday late morning: we have lots of energy and a positive attitude towards life. If you are awake, start something you feel passionate or enthusiastic about — what projects come to mind? What would be a fantastic use for all the physical energy that you have currently access to?
Monday afternoon, we may need to make some adjustments. As best you can, honor both your need for adventure and exploration of life and your need to go within.
You may also feel a pull between introvert and extrovert, or simply fast and slow. Tune in for a moment and see if you need to take a break or at least slow down a little. As best as you can,…

As best you can, be compassionate and kind with yourself.
Tuesday, Nov. 17th:
Tuesday, the Moon remains in optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius until 11:35am EST (see Monday morning for details).
Tuesday at 2:55am EST, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that lasts for almost 9 hours until 11:35am EST. Use this intuitive time as an opportunity to explore one-on-one relationships, perhaps have an adventure with someone, or do something exciting.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Tuesday very early morning until the late morning ahead of time.
Tuesday very early morning, a Mercury/Uranus opposition becomes exact at 3:07am EST. We started to feel this aspect build from last week Saturday evening (Nov. 14th) on, it will remain strong until this Thursday afternoon. This is the second time within the last four weeks that this aspect has become exact, due to Mercury’s recent Retrograde phase; the first time was from Oct. 3rd-22nd. Think back to that time: what conversation did you have around that time, that changed how you connect to others?
We are better off thinking outside the box for those five days. We want to change a life situation (or intimate relationship) that is out of alignment with who we now want to be.
Our minds may feel overwhelmed by what all this means, especially as it relates to our intimate relationships or financial partnerships. Stay calm, as best as you can: Sudden or rash decisions might backfire. Do your best to ground all your thinking, connect to your body, and allow yourself to fully receive any new insights.
We are very likely to feel quite nervous or anxious at this time, as we become aware of what’s not working for us anymore — and the itch to move forward and realize a new vision feels very strong. It may well be true that something needs to change — but we must take care not to rush into anything.
Think back to late April, early May of this year, when Mercury aligned with Uranus in Taurus: What was your thinking then? What seeds did you plant, related to your own individuation process, or the reinvention of your earning power? Have those seeds sprouted? Did you have an “Aha moment” since then? What still needs to change? We are also now more aware of what we have (and haven’t) communicated since then… Is there room for more integration?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 5-11 degrees of Scorpio, Taurus, Aquarius, or Leo? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Aquarius (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius).
Tuesday at 11:35am EST, the Moon moves into practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn, where it will journey until Thursday afternoon. We tend to be more realistic, serious, cautious; this can support practical endeavors and financial matters.
Our ambition surges and brings with it a need for structure and planning; when you add in the pragmatism this aspect supports, you can see how this could be a very productive time for business and long-term goals. Our reputation becomes very important to us.
As best as you can during this aspect, avoid “should-ing” on yourself. Take the pressure off, perhaps by saying “I am doing the best I can and that’s all I can ever do” 😉
Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn; it is currently transiting through its own sign, making this a great time to take look at your long-term aspirations and anything that you would like to master over the next three years. It’s also a great time to take a more serious look at our strategies for self-mastery.
For starters: Do you truly see “what’s so” in your life (as opposed to what you merely wish it to be, or what you would like it to be, or where you see yourself going, etc)? What is actually so right now? Once you have a handle on where “A” is, it’s easier to “go from A to B” — whether “B” is self-mastery or standing on the mountaintop.
Wednesday, Nov. 18th:
Wednesday, the Moon remains in practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn all day (see Tuesday late morning for details).
Wednesday very early morning, could prove to be a great opportunity to connect with others and talk about our long-term plans, so we can get some clarity about what we feel most passionate about. We may want to communicate our desire for deeper, more intimate connections with others — or, at the very least, conduct some research into how to have such connections.
Wednesday afternoon, has lots of energy, and brings a strong desire for accomplishment, but we need to adjust and innovate when it comes to our personal desires and passions — flexibility is key 😉
Wednesday early evening, we have an opportunity to soften our need for accomplishment with a gentler, more intuitive approach.
Also, Wednesday, Neptune’s station intensifies — and will appear to move even more slowly through the sky until Dec. 8th. It is getting ready to come to a halt, to end it’s 5-month Retrograde phase on Nov. 28th.
A planet’s energies are more exalted during it’s “station period”; this has even more weight for an outer planet, as they move more slowly and their stations last much longer. This Neptune station is particularly strong, since it occurs in Pisces, its own sign.
Neptune represents things like universal love, our inner divinity, spirituality, inspiration, compassion, faith — plus creative and imaginative realms such as music or film — while the shadow side is confusion, illusion, overwhelm, feeling victimized, mental fog, and escapism of all kinds. We start to be aware of all those energies more fully in our lives.
This awareness helps us to connect more fully to those energies as they exist within us. We can then see where we need to either embrace them more fully, or connect to them in a healthy way, that doesn’t involve getting lost in the murky, lower vibrations of their expression.
Some of us will feel the effects of this station more than others: those of us with a Pisces Sun- or Rising-Sign (Ascendant) — and those of us with personal planets and points in 15-18 degrees of Pisces, Virgo, Gemini or Sagittarius.
Thursday, Nov. 19th:
Thursday, the Moon remains in practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn until 3:25pm EST (see Tuesday late morning for details).
Thursday very early morning, an opportune Sun/Saturn aspect becomes exact at 2:18am EST. We started to feel this aspect build from Monday evening on, it will remain strong until Saturday afternoon. This aspect provides an opportunity to become aware of what needs to happen if we are to accomplish something concrete.
We have common sense at our disposal; we are willing to look reality in the eye and take responsibility for our life and how we live it. This is an opportunity to become more aware of our desire to be whole and empowered from within — and also, of how this might benefit us, both in terms of long-term goals and our here-and-now focus. Again, remember: opportunities are openings, they aren’t necessarily handed to us — we have to “take” them and make something of them.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 25-29 degrees of Scorpio, Capricorn, Virgo, or Pisces? If so, you may be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Capricorn (the Sun rules Leo; Saturn rules Capricorn)
Thursday morning, a challenging Venus/Saturn aspect becomes exact at 6:29am EST. We started to feel this aspect build from Monday evening on, it will remain strong until Saturday evening. This aspect asks us to stretch and grow beyond how we’ve known ourselves in our relationships up to this point — a process of maturing that requires we adjust and stay flexible.
On the one hand, we want to make harmonious, balanced connections while collaborating; on the other hand, we feel a sharp need to focus on what we want to manifest long-term — what works, what doesn’t, what are our resources to make it happen, how can we move from A to B without missing anything essential — in short, to determine what’s real and can provide us with the best foundation for the next step. Do your best to make space for both of these urges.
We tend to be more cautious when it comes to relationships and finances now — and in fact, this is not the best time to start a brand-new romantic relationship. Financially though, this aspect can be eye-opening; if we can find creative ways to deal with money, we will grow from it.
The key is to approach things in both realms with balance and maturity. Pushing will most likely not get us what we want: better to go one step at a time, slow and steady; that way, we can come back later with a stronger approach and more mature expectations.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 24-29 degrees of Libra, Capricorn, Cancer, Aries or 0 degrees of Scorpio, Aquarius, Taurus, or Leo? If so, you will feel this aspect quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Capricorn(Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn).
Thursday at 11:30am EST, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that lasts for a little over 3.5 hours until 3:25pm EST. Use this intuitive time as an opportunity to look at our ability to go within, get in touch with our fears and traumas from the past, and to our long-term commitments.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Thursday late morning until the afternoon ahead of time.
Thursday at 3:25pm EST, the Moon moves in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius, where it will journey until Saturday late evening. The energy of the Aquarian Moon relates to our instinct for improvement. Reactions are more intellectual than emotional; interactions more impersonal than personal. We are likely to have an increased fascination with the new and unusual.
Social gatherings, anything connected with group ideals and goals for the future, brainstorming, new ideas and methods, progress: all these are promoted during the time the Moon moves through Aquarius. Again: we have our eyes on the future — or on outer space 🙂 Personal freedom becomes paramount.
Thursday, after 3:25pm EST, if you set intentions last Sunday or Monday, after the New Moon became exact, today will be the best time to start taking relevant actions. If you wrote your intentions down, go back and take another look at what came through intuitively. If you didn’t write anything down, get quiet for a moment and check in with yourself: What actions are calling to you?
Thursday around 4pm EST, Mercury exits its post-Shadow phase as it reaches 11º 40’ of Scorpio! We are ready to process (and share) brand-new information and move forward with anything that has been “on hold” since the Mercury Retrograde (Oct. 13th – Nov. 3rd).
Ask yourself: What in my life is calling out to be resolved? Where am I now able to clearly decide? Where do I still need some more information?
As you may recall from earlier blog entries, if you want to buy, sell or ship big-ticket items, it’s best to avoid the shadow periods before and after Mercury goes retrograde.
This is especially true if the items you are thinking about getting are connected to transportation (cars, flight tickets, etc.) or communication (phone, computer, i-pad, etc.) The shadow phase having ended, feel free to buy, sell and book whatever your heart desires. Feel free to also read my blog on the subject 😉
This is especially good news for anyone who has a Gemini or Virgo Sun-sign or Rising sign 😉
Friday, Nov. 20th:
Friday, the Moon remains in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius all day (see Thursday afternoon for details).
Friday at 7:49pm EST, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that lasts for a little over 27 hours until 11:06pm EST. (Saturday late evening). Use this intuitive time as an opportunity to connect with others and take actions on the things that can bring you progress.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Friday evening until Saturday late morning ahead of time.
Also on Friday, we enter Eclipse season until Dec. 24th; for 10 days before and after an Eclipse, we are usually in uncharted territory: anything is possible and it’s wise to expect the unexpected.
Anything brand-new (and I really mean brand, brand-new) started during this time will likely not pan out the way we thought it would, often because important information comes to light only after the New Moon that follows the last Eclipse. If possible, try to defer any major brand-new projects until after Dec. 24th, when this Eclipse season is over. If something is beginning or ending in a way that seems organic, allow it to be.
Another Eclipse-related phenomenon: not only do Eclipses bring up uncertainty in us, they might also leave us nervous, anxious, unsettled and disoriented. As best as you can, observe your feelings and stay grounded in the “here and now”. Connect to your intuition and inner wisdom; they will help carry you through this period. Remember: it’s temporary and we are receiving an upgrade — that’s a good thing!
Just like upgrading a computer, you will get all the information you need, as soon as the upgrade is complete — so as best you can, be patient. This does not mean that we need to drop everything; it just means it’s wise to check in with your higher Self — do this whichever way feels right to you 😉
Saturday, Nov. 21st:
Saturday, the Moon remains in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius and VoC until 11:06pm EST (see Thursday afternoon and Friday evening for details).
Saturday morning, at 8:22am EST, Venus moves from relationship-oriented, harmony-seeking Libra into passionate, intense, all-or-nothing Scorpio. She will journey there until Dec. 15th. Until then, our relationships will get a lot of attention. We have a unique intensity, coupled with a willingness to commit; our actions in love tend to promise deep commitment and sexual pleasure, even if we are not talking about this directly.
Venus in Scorpio seems fearless when it comes to intimacy. We are intensely loyal at this time, and will expect the same from our partner; mistrust is the biggest obstacle to forming a relationship. We feel a need to cut through the fluff and can see others exactly for who they are — it’s like having X-ray vision of the heart. As best as you can, honor this by being straight with others — especially if it’s someone you have (or want to have) a romantic relationship with.
With regards to finances, we are more likely to put our money into things we feel really passionate about. Investments in transformational programs are recommended, as are partnerships in general.
Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus or Libra? If so, you will feel more passionate and deeply loyal for the next 3.5 weeks; your heart will want to go deeper and connect intimately with others. If you are a Scorpio Sun-sign or Rising-sign, for as long as Venus is in your sign, you will attract more love, abundance and beauty into your life.
Saturday afternoon, at 3:40pm EST, the Sun changes signs from passionate, intense, all-or-nothing Scorpio to adventurous, optimistic, freedom-loving Sagittarius. The Sun will journey here until Dec. 21st.
For the next four weeks, we may feel a little more restless than usual. We are more aware of our sense of humor and our love for freedom. Our approach to life at this time tends to be direct and honest.
We may want to connect to people from all walks of life right now, just so we can learn about others. We tend to feel more optimistic during this time; this may get us into trouble if we go overboard and only take an idealistic point of view. Wanting to learn, explore and have fun gives us vitality and zest for life. What would open you up to a new adventure?
All this is especially true if you are a Leo or Sagittarius Sun-sign or Rising-sign. As a Sagittarius, you will feel a good dose of confidence and playfulness in the next four weeks; as a Leo, you are more adventurous and restless than usual…exploring something new might be just the thing for you to do.
Saturday at 11:06pm EST, the Moon moves into creative, sensitive Pisces, where it will journey until next week, Tuesday late morning. This Moon placement often finds us more sensitive, intuitive, idealistic and imaginative than normal. We also have a greater capacity for compassion, sympathy and affection for all — but especially for those who suffer or can be regarded as the underdog.
But… that very idealism could also be our downfall at this time: We tend to see the best in everyone and everything, and when reality doesn’t match our idyllic vision, we might feel upset and even victimized by those harsh realities. A way out of this is to channel our idealism into spiritual or creative endeavors.
It’s also a great time for releasing fears — especially the ones based on a sense of separation — and experiencing “oneness”.
Feelings tend to flow more freely; as best as you can, let them — in fact, “going with the flow” is the best way to go for the next couple of days. This Moon placement starts the build up towards the first Quarter Moon (exact later tonight).
Saturday late evening, at 11:45pm EST, the first Quarter Moon in 0 degrees of Pisces becomes exact. We started to feel this aspect build from the moment the Moon entered Pisces earlier this evening (Saturday). The Moon in creative, sensitive, compassionate Pisces makes a challenging aspect to the Sun in optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius.
We feel compelled to take action. Last week on Nov. 15th, the Super New Moon in Scorpio became exact: “Seeds” planted then are probably “sprouting” by now — and making their first real contact with the outside world. This is therefore a time to stretch and grow — and create some forward momentum. We may feel anxious or unusually busy.
As best as you can, go one breath at a time. Allow for changes, remain flexible (as much as possible), and find creative solutions for your day-to-day interactions with others.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 0-2 degrees of Pisces, Sagittarius, Virgo, Gemini, or 28-29 degrees of Aquarius, Scorpio, Taurus, or Leo? If so, you will feel the effects of this first Quarter Moon more strongly than otherwise. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).
Sunday, Nov. 22nd:
Sunday, the Moon remains in creative, sensitive Pisces all day (see Saturday late evening for details).
Sunday very early morning, has a nice feeling of ease and an ability to trust and connect deeply with others. As best as you can, trust your intuitive sensing right now, allow whatever comes up to be beneficial for you.
Sunday morning, a somewhat challenging Mercury/Mars aspect becomes exact at 9:00am EST. We started to feel this aspect build from this Saturday morning on, it will remain strong until Monday morning (Nov. 23rd). This aspect operates more on an internal level. We feel uneasy about something, almost awkward — and we need to make a choice. An inner awareness needs to be developed if we’re to see what needs adjusting.
We may feel overly courageous under this influence — and what’s more, we want to move forward, and we want to now — so avoid jumping in too fast or being too impatient. Check your motivations and let go of fears and suspicions, because what we think, say, and do are not necessarily in harmony.
What’s more, instead of listening to what empowers us, we might listen to other, less affirming voices, and this could lead to our acting too quickly and possibly with anger. As you may have guessed by now, this is probably not a good day to make important decisions 😉
Awareness is key with this aspect: What demands to be done? How? How fast? What if you simply chose to process new information slowly, with great awareness of past traumas, allowed love to guide you, and only then took action?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 14-17 degrees of Scorpio or Aries? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo, or Aries (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Mars of Aries).
Sunday afternoon, we get an opportunity to be very present, to connect with others and share a new vision about the Earth, or to reinvent how we connect with “the good things in life”.
As best as you can, bring a sense of flow and faith to who you are being; allow yourself to intuitively share some progressive, new ideas about what is important to you, and things that could make yours and other people’s life easier on a very practical level.
And…
A heads up for next Monday (Nov. 23rd): the Moon remains in creative, sensitive Pisces all day. The Moon in Pisces trines Mercury in Scorpio, exact at 8:37am EST, it conjuncts Neptune in Pisces exact at 10:31am EST, it sextiles Pluto in Capricorn exact at 8:18pm EST, and It sextiles Jupiter in Capricorn at 11:47pm EST. In the evening, a harmonious Mercury/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 11:40pm EST; we started to feel this aspect build from Nov. 21st on, it will remain strong until Nov. 25th. More about all the details in next week’s forecast 🙂
