A Collaborative Approach — Forecast for Oct. 21st – 27th
This week’s headline items: the last Quarter Moon in Cancer becomes exact on Monday morning, the Pluto Station ends on Tuesday evening, the Sun changes signs from Libra to Scorpio early Wednesday afternoon; Mercury starts to slow down (station) on Thursday morning, preparing for its 3-week Retrograde phase, the Balsamic Moon phase begins late on Thursday evening, and the New Moon in Scorpio becomes exact on Sunday late evening.
There will also be four Moon VoC phases this week: Monday morning (for almost 4 hours), Wednesday early morning (a little over 10 hours), Friday late morning (almost 7.5 hours) and Sunday early morning (just over 12 hours).
I should also note that Daylight Savings Time ends in Europe and Great Britain early Sunday morning,
Before we get to this week’s forecast, let me share this with you:

Now, this week’s Forecast…
Monday, October 21st:
Monday, the Moon remains protective, nurturing in Cancer until 12:29pm EDT. With this Moon placement, we are more sensitive to what people say and therefore our feelings are more easily hurt — so be kind to yourself and others. Self-Care is key for the next several hours 😉
Emotional safety is important to us as well; we like connecting to the familiar and we enjoy nurturing ourselves and others — home and family call to us, for instance. Make sure though, that your glass is filled before letting others drink from it, otherwise you might start to feel drained and resentful.
Monday morning, at 8:39am EDT, the last Quarter Moon in almost 28 degrees of Cancer becomes exact. We started to feel this aspect build from the moment the Moon entered Cancer, last week Saturday (Oct. 19th). The Moon in protective, nurturing Cancer makes a challenging aspect to the Sun harmony-oriented, idealistic Libra. This may bring challenges; however, it also energizes us to face what demands completion or change.
This Moon phase brings us closer to Oct. 27th, which will bring the New Moon in Scorpio. During the last Quarter Moon, we are best served not by beginning new projects, but by reviewing existing ones — particularly those we started around or after the time of the New Moon in Libra (Sept. 28th).
What is asking to be completed? As best as you can, find creative solutions for anything that comes up, whether it’s internal or with others.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 26-29 degrees of Cancer, Libra, Capricorn, Aries or 0 degrees of Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius, or Taurus? If so, you will feel this month’s last Quarter Moon quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer, since the Sun rules Leo and the Moon rules Cancer.
As the last Quarter Moon becomes exact, on Monday at 8:39am EDT, we also enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that lasts for almost 4 hours until 12:29pm EDT. Use this intuitive time to make some adjustments in your life. As best as you can, find creative solutions to seemingly unsolvable situations.
Make space for the emotionally familiar, giving and receiving support, and pampering your inner baby — but also for intellectually harmonious one-on-one engagement and creating a balanced environment with others. As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Monday morning until the early afternoon ahead of time.
Monday at 12:29pm EDT, the Moon moves into fun and attention-loving Leo, where it will journey until Wednesday afternoon. We have a chance to appreciate ourselves and our lives — and to connect to the heart. Hand out as many compliments as possible, they will be deeply appreciated 🙂 Fun, games and romance are a big part of this energy. You might also enjoy spending time with little ones.
What are you most grateful for today? What would be heaps of fun? What would be so much fun, you squeak just thinking about it?
Monday afternoon, a harmonious Venus/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 3:40pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from last week, Saturday (Oct. 19th) on; it will be strong until this week Wednesday (Oct. 23rd). This supports us with the flow of feelings, especially in connection to our relationships and whatever we most value. Bringing compassion to our deepest feelings (including fears) and how we relate to others is going to feel easier at this time.
Our intuition and instincts are strongly supported here too. It becomes easier to trust others and open up to them; we give ourselves permission to receive love and emotional support. As best as you can, let all feelings flow.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in…

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 13-19 degrees of Scorpio, Pisces or Cancer? If so, you will be most blessed by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Pisces (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Neptune rules Pisces).
Tuesday, Oct. 22nd:
Tuesday, the Moon remains in fun and attention-loving Leo all day (see Monday early afternoon for details).
Tuesday morning, is an opportunity to have fun connecting with others and doing things that bring us joy. What might this look like for you?
Tuesday afternoon, feels a little uneasy. We need to develop an inner awareness around our two seemingly opposite pulls: on the one hand, a strong desire to accomplish; on the other, our need for play and fun.
We are asked to bring awareness to whatever it is we feel most committed to: Are we after laughter and joy? Or building a solid foundation? As best as you can, make adjustments as needed, and drop any self-judgment.
Tuesday afternoon/early evening, we are still invited to make some internal adjustments. We may want to have some fun, but may also need to tune in to our intuitive inner voice. What do you hear when you get really quiet?
Tuesday evening, we feel a need for acknowledgment and adoration… and also for deep, authentic — even intimate — connections to others. As best as you can, get creative, and make space for both!
Also, Tuesday evening, Pluto resumes its normal pace through the sky, ending its station. What has come up in the last three weeks around long-term goals? How empowered or disempowered do you feel about them?
Now is a good time to move forward. Empower yourself and others, keep your heart wide open, tap into your inner strength and passion for your projects and long-term goals. Ask yourself: What if fear was not present? What would I do then?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 18-23 degrees of Capricorn, Aries, Cancer or Libra? If so, you would have felt this station more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Scorpio (Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio).
Wednesday, Oct. 23rd:
Wednesday, the Moon remains in fun and attention-loving Leo until 3:29pm EDT (see Monday early afternoon for details).
Wednesday at 5:14am EDT, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that lasts for a little over 10 hours until 3:29pm EDT. Do your best to use this intuitive time to make some adjustments in your life and find creative solutions to seemingly unsolvable situations. We are pulled in two quite different directions:
On the one hand, we experience a need for acknowledgments and adoration; on the other hand, we want to go deeper in our communications with others. Make space for chatting, connecting, and interacting on an intimate level — and for creative, playful, fun interactions.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Wednesday early morning until the afternoon ahead of time.
Wednesday early afternoon, at 1:20pm EDT, the Sun changes signs from harmony-seeking Libra to passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio, where it will journey until November 22nd. The guiding principle of Scorpio is “I desire”. With the Sun in Scorpio our consciousness is drawn towards depth, intimacy, and extremes of feeling.
Superficiality simply will not do for the next 30 days. We have the desire to get to the bottom of what matters. We are more interested in that which is hidden, taboo, secret or suppressed. Scorpio’s energy is passionate, strong-willed, and intense. Used in its highest vibration, it can be an immensely healing and transformative energy.
On a lower vibration, Scorpio can express jealousy, vindictiveness, and use manipulative tactics. Bring your awareness towards your feelings, fears and behaviors. As best as you can, embrace all your feelings, let go of your fears and strip yourself from behaviors that no longer serve you.
All this is especially true if you are a Leo or Scorpio Sun-sign or Rising-sign. As a Scorpio, you will feel a good dose of confidence and playfulness in the next four weeks; as a Leo, you become more aware of your own shadow parts… anything that you have suppressed or denied about yourself.
Wednesday at 3:29pm EDT, the Moon moves into detail-oriented, practical Virgo, where it will journey until Friday afternoon; turning our focus toward the practical and wholesome. We are generous with our time/services and we love to help others. We also have a fondness for science and anything that makes sense in our world — things and knowledge we can apply and use.
Health might come also into focus at this time. We notice the parts that make up the whole; this is a great time to see if our daily routines (eating, work, self-care, etc.) align with our long-term goals.
Thursday, Oct. 24th:
Thursday, the Moon remains in detail-oriented, practical Virgo all day (see Wednesday afternoon for details).
Thursday afternoon, we are more capable than normal of looking at the details, and focusing on what’s sitting right in front of us that demands to be taken care of, so we can get to the next phase of accomplishment. We are invited to look at all the practical implications; we need to slow down and take our time if we are to manifest something that can stand the test of time — rushing things will most likely backfire right now.
Thursday early evening, seek a balance between head and heart, facts and faith, reason and intuition. That said, if you can achieve that balance, it’s a great day for being of service.
Thursday late evening, around 11:15pm EDT, the Balsamic Moon phase begins when the Moon reaches 19.5 degrees of Virgo. This lasts until Sunday late evening, when the New Moon in Scorpio becomes exact (more on that later…however, feel free to watch my video on the subject — will be posted by Monday, Oct. 21st in the evening).
We are being asked to slow down and get quiet, so we can listen to our inner sensing/intuition. For some of us, this might be a stretch. As best as you can: stay grounded, take a deep breath and exhale any tensions. Rather than starting something brand-new, put all that energy into completing existing projects or processes.
This is also a great time for letting go of whatever no longer serves us. What if you could hear the voice of your inner wisdom? What might it be saying?
Also, on Thursday, Mercury starts to slow down (“station”) in 25 degrees of Scorpio, preparing to come to a halt next week, Thursday, Oct.31st (when it will begin its 3-week Retrograde phase at 27.5º of Scorpio). More on that next week…
This station will last until Nov. 4th, and during this time, we will feel Mercury’s energies more strongly. For the next 11 days, we need to be patient with ourselves and others — especially if there is a connection with communication or transportation, and their associated technologies. This is not the best time to start anything brand-new, especially if it contains new information that needs to be processed.
We might experience delays or misunderstandings, and things tend to feel “off” or stagnant. It might be a good idea to give yourself some extra time to get ready, or travel somewhere — especially if you intend to use public transportation or drive (For more details on Mercury Shadow Phases and Retrogrades in general, click here).
For more on this specifically, feel free to watch the mp4-video presentation about the “Mercury Retrograde in Scorpio, and its Shadow phases” — in relationship to your own Birth Chart… To purchase this webinar, click here. Star and SuperStar Members: check your email for the link to the mp4-video recording and enjoy watching it! I sent it out on Oct. 17th late evening 😉
Some of us will feel the effects of this station more than others: those of us with Gemini or Virgo as our Sun- or Rising-Sign (Ascendant) — and those of us with personal planets (or angles) in 23-29 degrees of Scorpio, Aquarius, Taurus, or Leo.
Friday, Oct. 25th:
Friday, the Moon remains in detail-oriented, practical Virgo until 4:20pm EDT (see Wednesday afternoon for details).
Friday morning, an opportune Venus/Pluto aspect becomes exact at 5:52am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Wednesday on; it will be strong until Saturday evening. This aspect brings an opportunity for new insights into relationships and love. There is a chance for strong physical attractions.
This could be a powerful and uplifting time for our romantic relationships — and for our pocketbook. Remember: this is an “opportunity” — opportunities aren’t necessarily handed to us, we have to make them happen.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (MC) or any personal planets in 19-23 degrees of Scorpio, Capricorn, Pisces or Virgo? If so, you may be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Scorpio (Venus rules Taurus and Libra; Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio).
Friday at 9:00am EDT, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that lasts for almost 7.5 hours until 4:20pm EDT. Use this intuitive time to get some clarity about your daily routines. You may also want to either communicate your desire for deeper, more intimate connections with others — or at least conduct some research into how to have such connections.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Friday morning until the late afternoon ahead of time.
Friday at 4:20pm EDT, the Moon moves into harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra, where it will journey until Sunday afternoon. The energy of the Libra Moon helps us be naturally courteous and diplomatic; we are more polite at this time, as we seek the approval of others.
We very much want to maintain equal, fair relationships at this time, and are therefore open to making compromises and negotiating. These next two days are a great time for mediation — but our need for peace and accompanying aversion to direct conflict could pull us to “yes” more easily than we might like.
We may also be able see both sides of the equation so well that we can’t make decisions. As best as you can, find an inner balance with this and communicate what needs to be said with grace and charm — even if it’s “No” 😉 One last quick note: this is also a great time for anything to do with visual arts.
Friday late evening, a somewhat challenging Sun/Chiron aspect becomes exact at 11:29pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from early this morning (Friday) on; it will remain strong until Saturday evening. This aspect operates more on an internal level. We feel uneasy about something, almost awkward — and we need to make a choice. An inner awareness needs to be developed if we’re to see what needs adjusting.
We may feel an internal dilemma around our ability to get things done — a drop in our self-confidence and self-esteem. This could lead to us “hiding out”… which leaves us feeling strangely guilty… which leads to us behaving in weird ways… and we end up thinking “did I really just do that?”
As best as you can, be kind and compassionate with yourself — forgive yourself for having a human moment — this will support your healing process.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 1-4 degrees of Scorpio or Aries? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo (the Sun rules of Leo).
Saturday, Oct. 26th:
Saturday, the Moon remains in harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra all day (see Friday afternoon for details).
Saturday afternoon: we have an opportunity to connect with others, collaborate, and get things done. Ask yourself: What if I took action with the intention of creating win-wins?
Also, Saturday afternoon, we are invited to make some adjustments in our lives and find creative solutions to seemingly unsolvable situations. As best as you can, look for solid foundations under any long-term goals currently underway, and for ways to create win-win outcomes for one-on-one relationships.
Saturday early evening: we are also invited to make some internal adjustments. We may want to connect with others, but may also need to tune in to our intuitive inner voice. What do you hear when you get really quiet?
Sunday, Oct. 27th:
Sunday, the Moon remains in harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra until 4:29pm EDT (see Friday afternoon for details).
At 2:00am GMT, Daylight savings time ends in Europe and Great Britain, so for the next week — until North America and Canada end their Daylight Savings Time — everyone living in GB or Europe will have slightly different time conversions, in relationship to EDT.
Sunday at 4:22am EDT, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that lasts for a little over 12 hours until 4:29pm EDT. Use this intuitive time as an opportunity to connect with others and actively explore those things that might bring more balance into your life. Ask yourself: Am I open to explore something different? Am I open to seeing something that I haven’t looked at before? Am I open for experimenting?
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Sunday early morning until the late afternoon ahead of time.
Sunday late morning, a challenging Mars/Saturn aspect becomes exact at 10:31am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from this Tuesday evening on; it will remain strong until next week Thursday (Oct. 31st). We’re asked to stretch and grow beyond what we have previously known ourselves to be; our commitments and responsibilities towards others are calling us to get out of our comfort zone.
Find creative ways to honor both your various one-on-one relationships, and your desire to focus on your long-term goals; allow for a balanced approach even if life puts up roadblocks or throws some curve-balls.
What if you simply knew that you could handle whatever shows up? Would you rather have old structures in place, or a more collaborative approach to achieving things? Would you rather achieve status or harmonious relationships? What if you just decided to bring maturity and self-responsibility to the table when dealing with others, no matter what?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 12-18 degrees of Libra, Capricorn, Aries, or Cancer? If so, you may be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries or Capricorn (Mars rules Aries; Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn).
Sunday at 4:29pm EDT, the Moon moves into passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio, where it will journey until next week, Tuesday early evening (Oct. 29th). We feel things deeply and have “X-Ray Vision” and “Bullshit-Smelling Abilities” 😉
Emotional authenticity is extremely important to us at this time; anything less than 100% emotional honesty could be perceived as flat-out dishonest. Once we feel safe trusting someone, we want to merge with them, preferably forever… as long as our trust is never betrayed.
The Moon in Scorpio urges us to uncover our own power. This occurs by a process of subtraction — it urges us to let go of whatever disempowers us. It’s thus an excellent time to look at “old” fears, limiting habits or emotional attachments, especially those stemming from past traumas.
Moon in Scorpio tends to run right over ambiguity — it’s “in or out”, “with us or against us”, “love me or leave me”. It can thus be stormy — a cold winter storm, or a torrid tropical storm of passion, depending on how we “work” the energies 🙂
Manipulation and paranoia are the lower vibrations of this aspect, so do your very best to be straightforward — act in good faith and assume it in others. Best of all, be truly present to the fluctuations of your feelings — no matter if they’re “polite” or “timely”. Feelings aren’t facts, but they are information — and heeding them will help you embrace all of who you are.
Know thyself — and love thyself — you shall be set free. Remember: Love connects us to the Power within; Fear causes “Force” to show up — and that’s ultimately what disempowers us and others. This Moon placement also starts the build up towards the New Moon, exact later this evening.
Sunday late evening, at 11:39pm EDT, the Moon aligns with the Sun in 4.5 degrees of Scorpio, beginning a new Moon cycle. This New Moon in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio brings our focus to our intimate relationships and deepest emotional desires; if you’d like to learn more about this Lunation, check out my video on the subject 🙂
Scorpio is the second water sign of the zodiac, so it relates not only to the depths of our own psyche, but also to the ecstasies and traumas of relationships.
Mercury in Scorpio is exalted at the time of this New Moon (due to its station), so we are more aware of our thinking patterns, particularly our tendency to think in extremes or absolutes.
Mercury will come to a halt on Oct. 31st and start its 3-week Retrograde phase. While it is exalted (between Oct. 24th and Nov. 4th), check in with yourself and ask: Is my mind drawn to worst-case scenarios? Am I obsessing over something that feels disempowering? What are my motivations? Am I coming from fear? Self-protection? Or from love? What would it be like to live life fully and completely, feeling empowered in my choices? What will get me 1% closer to that right here and now?
Speaking of the “here and now”, if empowerment only existed in the “now” moment, could I surrender my fears or concerns connected to the past or the future, and simply be present in the here and now? What if I trusted my Higher Self enough to release any suspicious, fearful, or protective thoughts that may arise?
Check to see: Am I ok right now? If I am, is it at least possible that I will be ok in the next moment? And the next?
Feel free to also check out my video presentation about the upcoming Mercury Retrograde phase, to see how all of this is impacting you personally — to purchase this webinar, click here. Before you invest in the whole 99 min. webinar, feel free to watch a 23-min excerpt here.

Scorpio also deals with our Shadow issues. The “Shadow” is all the suppressed, denied, or undeveloped qualities of our personality — and wherever we have yet to fully integrate these disowned aspects, we feel disempowered, and are left vulnerable to manipulation or domination.
Furthermore, what we reject in ourselves, we often project onto others — we may experience the shadow as explosions with others or implosions within ourselves. That which we disown, owns us; whatever we resist, persists. So, what Shadow issues need to be addressed over the next four weeks?
Here are some questions to help you reclaim your projections… To read the whole article and get all the Coaching Questions for this month’s New Moon, click here.
Do you have your Ascendant (or any personal planets) in 2-7 degrees of Scorpio, Taurus, Leo or Aquarius? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).
The New Moon is also the best time to set some powerful intentions for this month’s Moon cycle. Intentions are best done soon after the New Moon becomes exact — and definitely not during a Moon void of course phase. So this month, the best time to set intentions would be any time between 11:39pm Sunday (the 27th) and 1:34pm Tuesday (Oct. 29th); then again from 5:58pm until 11:39pm (on Oct. 29th) — New York Time/US Eastern Time
If you live in a timezone other then EDT (US East Coast-time), feel free to join my Facebook Fan-page or follow me on twitter. I will be posting reminders on Sunday after 11:39pm EDT, Monday all day and Tuesday morning and evening, to let you know when it is time to set your intentions. For more info on how to set your New Moon Intentions click here.
And…
A heads up for next Monday (Oct. 28th): the Moon remains in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio all day (see Sunday afternoon for details). In the early morning, a Sun/Uranus opposition becomes exact at 4:15pm EDT; we started to feel this aspect from Oct. 24th on; it will remain strong until Oct. 30th. In the late evening/night, a somewhat challenging Mars/Neptunes aspect becomes exact at 11:57pm EDT; we started to feel this aspect from the early morning (Oct. 28th) on; it will remain strong until Oct. 30th. Also, on Monday, Mercury’s Station intensifies in 27 degrees of Scorpio, until November 2nd. More about all the details in next week’s forecast 🙂
