Things Intensify — Forecast for Sept. 21st – 27th
This week’s headline items: Monday is the best time to start taking action on our New Moon intentions, while on Tuesday, Saturn’s and Pluto’s Station intensify, and the Sun changes signs from Virgo to Libra (marking the Fall Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere) and squaring the degree of the Solar Eclipse that we had back on June 21st. On Wednesday, Mercury enters its pre-Shadow phase in the early evening and the first Quarter Moon in Capricorn becomes exact in the late evening; on Sunday, Mercury changes signs from Libra to Scorpio, and the Mars Station finally comes to an end.
There will be three Moon VoC phases this week: Monday afternoon (for a little over one hour), Wednesday afternoon (for almost 6 hours), and Friday night (for 2.5 hours).
Before we get to this week’s forecast, I’d like to mention:
Since Mercury’s Shadow phase begins this week on Wednesday late afternoon/early evening, I recommend that you take notice or journal on some of the things that come up in your relationships between Sept. 22nd and October 13th. We will also cover the Mercy Retrograde (that is coming up in October) in our next Forecasting Forum (live on Oct. 4th). To get more info or to register now: click here.

Now, this week’s Forecast…
Monday, Sept. 21st:
Monday, the Moon remains in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio until 3:32pm EDT. We feel things deeply and have “X-Ray Vision” and “Bullshit-Smelling Abilities” 😉
Emotional authenticity is extremely important to us at this time; anything less than 100% emotional honesty could be perceived as flat-out dishonest. Once we feel safe trusting someone, we want to merge with them, preferably forever… as long as our trust is never betrayed.
The Moon in Scorpio urges us to uncover our own power. This occurs by a process of subtraction — it urges us to let go of whatever disempowers us. It’s therefore an excellent time to look at “old” fears, limiting habits or emotional attachments, especially those stemming from past traumas.
Moon in Scorpio tends to run right over ambiguity — it’s “in or out”, “with us or against us”, “love me or leave me”. It can therefore be stormy — a cold winter storm, or a torrid tropical storm of passion, depending on how we “work” the energies 🙂
Manipulation and paranoia are the lower vibrations of this aspect, so as best you can, be straightforward — act in good faith and assume it in others. Best of all, be truly present to the fluctuations of your feelings — no matter if they’re “polite” or “timely”. Feelings aren’t facts, but they are information — and heeding them will help you embrace all of who you are.
Know thyself — and love thyself — you shall be set free. Remember: Love connects us to the Power within; Fear causes “Force” to show up — and that’s ultimately what disempowers us and others.
Monday before 2:13pm EDT or after 3:32pm EDT, it’s time to start taking actions on our New Moon intentions: if you set Intentions last week after the New Moon became exact, today (Monday) will be the best time to take relevant actions.
If you wrote your intentions down, go back and take another look at what came through intuitively. If you didn’t write anything down, get quiet for a moment and check in with yourself: What actions are calling to me?
Monday at 2:13pm EDT, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that lasts for a little over one hour until 3:32pm EDT. This intuitive time provides an opportunity to look at your ability to go deeper within your intimate relationships and financial partnerships; it’s also a good time to get in touch with your power to transform old behaviors and fears, and bring those abilities to your long-term commitments.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Sunday late afternoon ahead of time.
Monday at 3:32pm EDT, the Moon moves into optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius, where it will journey until Sept. 23rd. We’re strongly motivated to explore and learn. We’re not likely to be big fans of routine — diversity and new adventures work best at this time — we’re also physically restless and need to burn that off with activity and physical exercise.
We tend to feel more open, optimistic and inspired — but we also have a high degree of independence, which means we’d rather inspire others to do things our way, than take orders. Inspiring others could come easier than normal, as we can see the bigger picture, leaving us confident that others will agree with us, once they see what we see.
As best as you can, speak your truth without assuming that everyone is on the same page as you. Improvisation works well for us at this time, as we are spontaneous and love living on the edge — just watch out you aren’t overdoing or overstating things.
Monday late evening, a somewhat challenging Venus/Jupiter aspect becomes exact at 9:12pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Sunday late evening (Sept. 20th) on, it will remain strong until Tuesday late evening. This aspect operates more on an internal level. We feel uneasy about something, almost awkward — and we need to make a choice. An inner awareness needs to be developed in order to see what needs adjusting.
This aspect marks a fork in the road: Will we step onto a path of creative self-expression and joyful interaction? Or will we take the path that leads to a larger understanding around social structures and of our perspectives and attitudes around long-term goals and achievements?
Either way, we can develop a new perspective on how to approach these issues in our life. Awareness is key with this aspect: What is needed? How can we serve the broader view?

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 16-19 degrees of Leo or Capricorn? If so, you will feel the effects of this aspect more strongly than otherwise. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Sagittarius (Venus rules Taurus and Libra; Jupiter rules Sagittarius).
Tuesday, Sept. 22nd:
Tuesday, the Moon remains in optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius all day (see Monday afternoon for details).
Tuesday late morning, at 9:31am EDT, the Sun changes signs from practical Virgo to harmony-seeking Libra, where it will journey until Oct. 22nd. This signifies the beginning of Autumn in the Northern Hemisphere of this planet. The Fall Equinox is an energetic turning point from one season to the next. Equinoxes are super potent times for setting intentions. They are energetic gateways, where we experience the inter-relationship between light and dark, inner and outer, spirit and matter.
With the Sun entering Libra, we are being called to pay attention to our relationships. Bringing equality, cooperation and balance to our dealings with the world is recommended during this time. We have a keen awareness of issues concerning justice and we are more likely to take a stand against injustice, especially when it’s directed against others.
However, we also want to keep the peace, so we may use language and our intellect to diplomatically address such issues. We can see all sides of a situation — and therefore it’s not always easy to make the “right” choices. Our desire for harmony is great; more often than not — consciously or unconsciously — we may find ourselves seeking the approval of others.
All this is especially true if you are a Leo or Libra Sun-sign or Rising-sign. As a Libra, you will feel a good dose of confidence and playfulness in the next four weeks; as a Leo, you are more aware of the delicate balance that is required internally and externally in your life.
Back on June 21st, we had a Solar Eclipse in 0º of Cancer; when the Sun enters Libra it will make a square to that same degree, indicating that we are at a turning point. Watch for important insights and developments today — and our direct experience is our most valuable resource, especially if we allow ourselves to take in helpful feedback from others. How has your perception of yourself, others, and life shifted since June 21st?
Also on Tuesday, the Saturn Station intensifies in 25.5 degrees of Capricorn. As I mentioned last week Tuesday (Sept. 15th) already, “Stationing” is when a planet moves more slowly through the sky. When a planet stations, its energy becomes more “exalted”; in the case of Saturn, this means we all feel the need to more fully face what is currently so, our actual reality.
Ask yourself: Where am I being asked to look at my long-term goals and ambitions, and become more mature? What calls for a commitment towards building a solid foundation? What will time do?
As best as you can during the time of the station, bring flexibility and open-mindedness to any frustrations. The Station-phase will feel most intense until Oct. 6th, but altogether, it will run until Oct. 14th — and Saturn will end its 5-month retrograde phase, next week Tuesday (on Sept. 29th)… more on that next week 😉
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 23-28 degrees of Capricorn, Cancer, Aries or Libra? If so, you will be more affected by this station. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Capricorn or Aquarius, given that Saturn is the modern ruler of Capricorn and the traditional ruler of Aquarius.
Last but not last, also on Tuesday, the Pluto Station intensifies until Oct. 16th. It will come to a halt on Oct. 4th in almost 22.5 degrees of Capricorn (more on that next week).
As I mentioned above already, when an outer planet stations, its energy gets more pronounced; we become more aware of its impact on us — and this can sometimes cause discomfort. We are being asked to hang out with that discomfort until the planet’s energy has picked up speed again (around Oct. 24th).
As best as you can, take a closer look at whatever is “in your face” for the next 4 weeks. Look for what might no longer be in alignment with your soul’s purpose (your deep, authentic, emotional Self) — especially in relation to long-term goals and your standing in society.
Ask yourself: Where am I holding on, out of fear? What habits, behaviors or fears are holding me back from feeling fully empowered from within? What would it look like, if I was fully aligned with my Soul-purpose? How would it feel? When we confront our fears we very often discover hidden gifts and strengths.
Again, this Station-phase will feel most intense until Oct. 16th, but altogether, it will run until Oct. 24th — and Pluto will end its 5-month Retrograde phase, next week Sunday (on Oct. 4th)… more on that next week 😉
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 20-25 degrees of Capricorn, Aries, Cancer or Libra? If so, you will feel this station more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Scorpio (Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio).
Wednesday, Sept. 23rd:
Wednesday is a huge day (astrologically speaking). So much going on! First, the Moon remains in optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius until 7:16pm EDT (see Monday afternoon for details).
Wednesday early morning, a challenging Mercury/Saturn aspect becomes exact at 6:38am EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from last week, Sunday evening (Sept. 20th) on, it will remain strong until this Friday evening. This aspect asks us to stretch a little, to grow and mature. Watch out for misunderstandings or rigid thinking, not only when it comes to interacting with others, but also when it comes to your own inner dialog.
On the one hand, Mercury in Libra wants us to communicate in an idealistic, harmonious, just manner… making sure that everyone involved is happy. On the other hand, Saturn in Capricorn reminds us that before we can think about what we want to create or bring forth, we need to look at the reality of how long things take to manifest — we must slow down, get present to the quality we want to produce.
Ask yourself: If this is a long-term goal, am I truly building for the long-term? What is the worst that could happen if I compromised myself, or skipped over some steps?
As best as you can, find creative ways to connect to your ideals when dealing with others, while staying committed to your long-term goals one step at a time. Where is life calling for commitment? Could I go for it (one step at a time)?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in degrees of 22-29 Libra, Capricorn, Cancer, or Aries? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Capricorn (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Saturn rules Capricorn).
Wednesday morning, a somewhat challenging Venus/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 8:45am EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Tuesday morning on, it will remain strong until Thursday morning. This aspect operates more on an internal level. We feel uneasy about something, almost awkward — and we need to make a choice. An inner awareness needs to be developed in order to see what needs adjusting.
A lot of this discomfort centers around “unrealism” — we tend to idealize romantic and financial interactions, but at the same time, our sense that we’re doing exactly that leaves us uncomfortable. This applies to ourselves too; it’s easy for us to incorrectly appraise who we are, and where we’re going.
We might also get confused when we can’t complete things. The key is genuine self-acceptance (limitations and all): as we allow that, our range of love expression increases.
It’s also worthwhile to look at how our ideas are received by others: Can we involve them in our dreams? As best as you can, slow down: “If a thing is worth having, it’s worth waiting for.” Just for right now, could you simply have faith that everything will align eventually?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 18-20 degrees of Leo or Pisces? If so, you will feel this aspect quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Pisces (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Neptune is the ruler of Pisces).
Wednesday at 1:31pm EDT, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that lasts for almost 6 hours until 7:16pm EDT. Use this intuitive time to start something you feel passionate or enthusiastic about — what projects come to mind? What would be a fantastic use for all the physical energy that you have currently access to?
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Wednesday afternoon until the evening ahead of time.
Wednesday around 5pm EDT, Mercury enters a 3-week Shadow phase, as it reaches 25º53′ of Libra. This precedes the Retrograde phase, which will begin on Oct.13th in 11º40′ of Scorpio (more on that in 3 weeks).
So what is the “Shadow phase”?
There are two “Shadow” phases — during these, the planet travels over a part of the sky it will later “revisit”. The first “shadow” comes before the planet moves backward (the pre-Shadow phase); the second comes when the planet starts to catch back up (after going direct – the post-Shadow phase).
It’s like you went hiking and left something behind at camp. If you went back to get it, you’d have some catching up to do, and would see the same scenery three times.
Mercury’s Shadow phases usually last 2-3 weeks before and after the Retrograde phase. If you want to buy, sell or ship big-ticket items — especially connected to transportation (cars, airline tickets, etc.) or communication devices (phone, computer, iPad, etc.) — be aware of the shadow periods as well as the retrograde phases. If possible, get these things done before Mercury enters it’s Shadow or wait until after the Shadow phases are over — that would be Nov. 19th in this case 😉
Of course, if there is something that must get done during these phases, don’t put your whole life on hold, just because Mercury is Retrograde or in it’s Shadow. Sometimes things line up exactly at the right time; as best as you can, trust that it’s all “perfect” 😉
Wednesday at 7:16pm EDT, the Moon moves into practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn, where it will journey until Saturday very early morning. This Moon placement starts the build up towards the first Quarter Moon (exact later tonight). We tend to be more realistic, serious, cautious; this can support practical endeavors and financial matters.
Our ambition surges and brings with it a need for structure and planning; when you add in the pragmatism this aspect supports, you can see how this could be a very productive time for business and long-term goals. Our reputation becomes very important to us.
As best as you can during this aspect, avoid “should-ing” on yourself. Take the pressure off, perhaps by saying “I am doing the best I can and that’s all I can ever do” 😉
Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn; it is currently transiting through its own sign, making this a great time to take look at your long-term aspirations and anything that you would like to master over the next three years. It’s also a great time to take a more serious look at our strategies for self-mastery.
For starters: Do you truly see “what’s so” in your life (as opposed to what you merely wish it to be, or what you would like it to be, or where you see yourself going, etc)? What is actually so right now? Once you have a handle on where “A” is, it’s easier to “go from A to B” — whether “B” is self-mastery or standing on the mountaintop.
Wednesday late evening, at 9:55pm EDT, the first Quarter Moon in 23 degrees of Capricorn becomes exact. We started to feel this from the moment the Moon entered Capricorn, earlier this evening. The Moon in practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn makes a challenging aspect to the Sun in balance-seeking, relationship-oriented Libra.
We feel compelled to take action. Last week, on Sept. 17th, the New Moon in Virgo became exact: “Seeds” planted then are probably “sprouting” by now — and making their first real contact with the outside world. This is therefore a time to stretch and grow — and create some forward momentum. We may feel anxious or unusually busy.
As best as you can, go one breath at a time. Allow for changes, remain flexible (as much as possible), and find creative solutions for your day-to-day interactions with others.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 0-2 degrees of Capricorn, Libra, Aries or Cancer? If so, you will feel the effects of this first Quarter Moon more strongly than otherwise. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).
Thursday, Sept. 24th:
Thursday, the Moon remains in practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn all day (see Wednesday evening for details).
Thursday morning, a Mercury/Mars opposition becomes exact at 6:53am EDT. We started feeling it build from Tuesday afternoon on — and it will be strong until Saturday afternoon. This aspect brings some juicy energy to our conversations and a chance to have some overdue discussions. We may not see eye to eye; diplomacy might be required.
As best as you can, make it a productive discussion that serves you and others — a win-win — otherwise you might feel really awful afterwards. Also, watch out on the road for some crazy drivers… rushing might not necessarily get you there faster 😉
Think back to early Sept. 2019, when Mercury was conjunct Mars in Virgo. With Mercury opposing Mars now, we can start to see the fruits of the seeds that were planted back then. So: What were the seeds? What are the fruits?
In other words: What has emerged since last September, in regards to health & well-being, daily routines (i.e. work and health routines), or discernment of what works and what doesn’t in your daily life? You are also now more aware of what you have (and haven’t) learned since then… Do you like what you see? Is there room for more integration in any of these areas?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or any personal planets) in the following 24-29 degrees of Libra, Aries, Cancer, Capricorn or 0 degrees of Scorpio, Aquarius, Taurus or Leo? If so, you may feel more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Aries (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Mars rules Aries)
Friday, Sept. 25th:
Friday, the Moon remains in practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn all day (see Wednesday evening for details).
Friday very early morning, we experience a growth in our maturity and self-commitment. For long-term success, expand your perspective around your goals — we have the courage now to make a solid commitment — take advantage of the opportunity to work towards something worthwhile.
Friday morning, we have an opportunity to soften our need for accomplishment with a gentler, more intuitive approach. As best as you can, take some breaks, and allow the energy flow to show you the way.
Friday late afternoon, we experience a sense of maturity, and of commitment towards ourselves and our long-term goals; for long-term success, focus on long-term projects that require a realistic approach or a solid commitment.
Friday evening, arts out with lots of energy, and brings a strong desire for accomplishment, but we need to adjust and innovate when it comes to our personal desires and passions — flexibility is key 😉
Friday at 11:36pm EDT, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that lasts for almost hours until 2:08am EDT (Saturday very early morning).
You may also want to plan Friday late evening until Saturday very early morning ahead of time.
Saturday, Sept. 26th:
Saturday, the Moon remains in practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn and VoC until 2:08am EDT; at that time, the Moon moves into freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius, where it will journey until next week Monday late morning (Sept. 28th). The energy of the Aquarian Moon relates to our instinct for improvement. Reactions are more intellectual than emotional; interactions more impersonal than personal. We are likely to have an increased fascination with the new and unusual.
Social gatherings, anything connected with group ideals and goals for the future, brainstorming, new ideas and methods, progress: all these are promoted during the time the Moon moves through Aquarius. Again: we have our eyes on the future — or on outer space 🙂 Personal freedom becomes paramount.
Saturday early morning, a somewhat challenging Venus/Pluto aspect becomes exact at 5:22am EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Friday early morning on, it will remain strong until this Sunday early morning. This aspect operates more on an internal level. We feel uneasy about something, almost awkward — and we need to make a choice… so we need to develop inner awareness.
Fear of disappointment and of others is causing some tension. Our inner need for growth requires us to be honest about what is causing our fears — most likely our lack of good boundaries and self-esteem.
We easily might get pulled into overly burdensome roles in other people’s lives, because we feel it is required of us. Careful examination of our routines and how we feel about ourselves is necessary, if we are to free our ability to love, develop and grow. This creates a deep inner healing.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 21-24 degrees of Leo or Capricorn? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Scorpio (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio).
Sunday, Sept. 27th:
Sunday, the Moon remains in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius all day (see Saturday very early morning for details).
Sunday at 3:41am EDT, Mercury changes signs from harmony-seeking Libra to passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio, where it will journey until Oct. 27th, and then again from Nov. 10th until Dec.1st (due to its Retrograde phase). During those weeks, we have the ability to focus on what’s most important to us on a deep emotional level.
We can get to the very heart of any matter at this time (especially through conversation). We are more passionate about giving valid advice or support. We are not satisfied with superficial connection right now — it’s all or nothing.
For that reason, our mental processes could get a little obsessive. We may also be more suspicious and expect bad intentions. It’s a time that favors reading or writing about intrigue, mystery, and hidden motives. Mercury in Scorpio loves anything that challenges the brain and therefore we are often interested in what makes people tick during this time.
We will also cover the Mercy Retrograde (that is coming up in October) in our next Forecasting Forum (live on Oct. 4th). To get more info or to register now: click here.

Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini or Virgo? If so, you will feel a greater need for investigating deeper emotional issues or motives. Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Scorpio? If so, you will most likely feel more chatty and mentally alert for the next 4 weeks.
Also on Sunday, Mars resumes its normal pace through the sky, ending its station today. What has come up over the last five weeks around “doing” and pursuing”? What insecurities or limitations do you have around the “masculine” energy? Around self-identity? Now is a good time to do some internal work in these areas.
And…
A heads up for next Monday (Sept. 28th): the Moon remains in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius until 11:34am EDT (see Saturday very early morning- Sept. 26th for details). At 3:18am EDT, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that lasts for a little over 8 hours until 11:34am EDT; at that time, the Moon moves into creative, sensitive Pisces, where it will journey until Sept. 30th (Wednesday late evening). In the late afternoon, a somewhat challenging Venus/Saturn aspect becomes exact; we started to feel this aspect build from Sept 27th on, it will remain strong until Sept. 29th. In the late evening, is full speed ahead as a harmonious Venus/Mars aspect becomes exact at 9:01pm EDT; we started to feel this aspect build from Sept. 26th on, it will remain strong until Sept. 30th. More about all the details in next week’s forecast 🙂
