A Delicate Balance — Forecast for September 23rd – 29th
This week’s headline items: Pluto’s station phase remains strong all week, while Saturn’s ends on Saturday. The Sun changes signs from Virgo to Libra on Monday afternoon, marking the Fall Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere, and the New Moon in Libra becomes exact on Saturday afternoon.
There will be four Moon VoC phases this week: Monday early evening (for a little over 11 hours), Wednesday early afternoon (for almost 18.5 hours), Friday very late evening (for a little over 6 hours), and Sunday late evening (for a little over 7.5 hours).

Now, this week’s Forecast…
Monday, September 23rd:
Monday, the Moon remains in protective, nurturing Cancer all day. It will journey there until Tuesday early morning. With this Moon placement, we are more sensitive to what people say and therefore our feelings are more easily hurt — so be kind to yourself and others. Self-Care is key for today 😉
Emotional safety is important to us as well; we like connecting to the familiar and we enjoy nurturing ourselves and others — home and family call to us, for instance. Make sure though, that your own glass is full before letting others drink from it; if you don’t, you might start to feel drained and resentful.
Monday very early morning, at 3:50am EDT, the Sun changes signs from practical Virgo to harmony-seeking Libra, where it will journey until Oct. 23rd. This signifies the beginning of Autumn in the Northern Hemisphere of this planet. The Fall Equinox is an energetic turning point from one season to the next. Equinoxes are super potent times for setting intentions. They are energetic gateways, where we experience the inter-relationship between light and dark, inner and outer, spirit and matter.
With the Sun entering Libra, we are being called to pay attention to our relationships. Bringing equality, cooperation and balance to our dealings with the world is recommended during this time. We have a keen awareness of issues concerning justice and we are more likely to take a stand against injustice, especially when it’s directed against others.
However, we also want to keep the peace, so we may use language and our intellect to diplomatically address such issues. We can see all sides of a situation — and therefore it’s not always easy to make the “right” choices. Our desire for harmony is great; more often than not — consciously or unconsciously — we may find ourselves seeking the approval of others.
All this is especially true if you are a Leo or Libra Sun-sign or Rising-sign. As a Libra, you will feel a good dose of confidence and playfulness in the next four weeks; as a Leo, you are more aware of the delicate balance that is required internally and externally in your life.
Monday morning, requires some inner adjustments. We feel uneasy or awkward and need to make a choice, one that demands we develop inner awareness around two very different urges: on the one hand, the desire to expand our horizons and learn more about life, other cultures, religions, philosophies, etc. — and on the other hand, the need to nurture ourselves and stay in touch with our feeling body and what already feels familiar.
Monday early afternoon, we may take an all-or-nothing attitude toward others; this could drive some tension or oppositional behaviors… As best you can, remain flexible and practice self-care — take good care of your emotional and physical body — that way, you’ll remain able to empower yourself and others.
Monday at 6:05pm EDT, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that lasts for a little over 11 hours until 5:19am EDT (Tuesday early morning). Use this intuitive time as an opportunity to look into the details of your life that make up your daily routines, and see if they are in alignment with you… Are your needs being met? Do your daily routines leave you feeling nurtured?
It is also an opportunity to connect to family (or friends that feel like family) and take actions around things that could improve everyone’s well-being — this could include health issues or concerns, or simply looking at our nutrition and what feeds us…
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can,…

As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Monday early evening until Tuesday early morning ahead of time.
Tuesday, Sept. 24th:
Tuesday, the Moon remains protective, nurturing Cancer and VoC until 5:19am EDT; at that time, the Moon moves into fun and attention-loving Leo, where it will journey until Thursday morning. We have a chance to appreciate ourselves and our lives — and to connect to the heart.
Hand out as many compliments as possible, they will be deeply appreciated 🙂 Fun, games and romance are a big part of this energy. You might also enjoy spending time with little ones. What are you most grateful for today? What would be heaps of fun? What would be so much fun, you squeak just thinking about it?
Tuesday late morning, a somewhat challenging Mercury/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 9:57am EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Monday on, it will remain strong until Wednesday morning. This could contribute either to some mental confusion and spaciness, or the need to communicate with others from our imagination (but possibly not knowing how to achieve that).
This aspect operates more on an internal level: We feel uneasy about something, sort of “awkward” — and we need to make a choice. Sometimes, imagination and mind can run way ahead of what is actually feasible (and sensible). At these times, the grand vision is best served by trusting our inner knowingness, accepting our own idiosyncrasies as we go.
Honesty is crucial here, especially self-honesty; inner awareness is crucial to finding our inner equilibrium. Where are you looking for balance or fairness? What might be available from the perspective of “being”? Where might those overlap?
Note that I say “overlap”: Don’t look for an exact fit, this is more like two puzzle pieces that came from different jigsaw puzzles. You might keep looking at the imperfect fit and feel a nagging sense that something doesn’t make sense… and it doesn’t — it can’t. The pieces are not from the same game. Just do your best to “hang out” with the discomfort, rather than repeatedly trying to figure it out and fix it.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 16-18 degrees of Libra or Pisces? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Pisces (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Neptune rules Pisces).
Tuesday late afternoon, an opportune Mercury/Jupiter aspect becomes exact at 5:01pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from last week, Sunday evening (Sept. 22nd); it will remain strong until this Thursday evening. This aspect is an opportunity for us to expand our thinking and express ourselves with confidence and optimism — we share what’s important to us from a place of open-mindedness and excitement.
This connection also creates a possibility of expansion via stepping into uncharted territory. Humor can be a great way to tap into this energetic combo. This planetary connection also favors short trips, writing, teaching, studying, and making observations. We more readily exercise good judgment and are more “philosophical” and open to learning.
As with any opportunity, we have to “take” it — it requires we take action. What could you do that would instill confidence in your exploration of the mind? Is there a new mental process that is asking to be explored?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 14-20 degrees of Libra, Sagittarius, Gemini, or Leo? If so, you will be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Sagittarius (Mercury rules Gemini and Virgo; Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius).
Wednesday, Sept. 25th:
Wednesday, the Moon remains in fun and attention-loving Leo all day (see Tuesday early morning for details).
Wednesday early morning, feels a little uneasy. We need to develop an inner awareness around our two seemingly opposite pulls: on the one hand, a strong desire to accomplish; on the other, our need for play and fun.
We are asked to bring awareness to whatever it is we feel most committed to: Are we after laughter and joy? Or building a solid foundation? As best as you can, make adjustments as needed, and drop any self-judgment.
Wednesday morning, we are invited to make some internal adjustments. We may want to have some fun, but may also need to tune in to our intuitive inner voice. What do you hear when you get really quiet?
Wednesday late morning, things flow nicely; we feel excited about new adventures. We have an opportunity to connect, explore, and become part of something exciting.
Wednesday at 12:14pm EDT, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that lasts for for almost 18.5 hours until 6:37am EDT (Thursday morning). Use this intuitive time as an opportunity to have fun connecting with others one-on-one, collaborating on things that are both mentally stimulating, and joyful.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Wednesday early afternoon until Thursday morning ahead of time.
Wednesday afternoon, a challenging Venus/Saturn aspect becomes exact at 3:20pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from last week, Sunday evening (Sept. 22nd) on, it will remain strong until this Friday evening. This aspect asks us to stretch and grow beyond how we’ve known ourselves in our relationships up to this point — a process of maturing that requires we adjust and stay flexible.
On the one hand, we want to make harmonious, balanced connections while collaborating; on the other hand, we feel a sharp need to focus on what we want to manifest long-term — what works, what doesn’t, what are our resources to make it happen, how can we move from A to B without missing anything essential — in short, to determine what’s real and can provide us with the best foundation for the next step. Do your best to make space for both of these urges.
We tend to be more cautious when it comes to relationships and finances now — and in fact, this is not the best time to start a brand-new romantic relationship. Financially though, this aspect can be eye-opening; if we can find creative ways to deal with money, we will grow from it.
The key is to approach things in both realms with balance and maturity. Pushing will most likely not get us what we want: better to go one step at a time, slow and steady; that way, we can come back later with a stronger approach and more mature expectations.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 11-17 degrees of Libra, Capricorn, Cancer, or Aries? If so, you will feel this aspect quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Capricorn (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn).
Also, Wednesday afternoon, feels a little uneasy. We need to develop an inner awareness around our two seemingly opposite pulls: on the one hand, a strong desire to accomplish; on the other, our need for play and fun.
We are asked to bring awareness to whatever it is we feel most passionate about: Are we after laughter and joy? Or intense and authentic emotion? As best as you can, make adjustments as needed, and drop any self-judgment.
Thursday, Sept. 26th:
Thursday, the Moon remains in fun and attention-loving Leo and VoC until 6:37am EDT; at that time, the Moon moves into detail-oriented, practical Virgo, where it will journey until Saturday morning; turning our focus toward the practical and wholesome. We are generous with our time/services and we love to help others. We also have a fondness for science and anything that makes sense in our world — things and knowledge we can apply and use.
Health might come also into focus at this time. We notice the parts that make up the whole; this is a great time to see if our daily routines (eating, work, self-care, etc.) align with our long-term goals.
Thursday evening, a challenging Mercury/Pluto aspect becomes exact at 7:52pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Tuesday evening on; it will remain strong until Saturday evening. This aspect creates some tension in our lives. We may feel anxious or stressed by one or more situations or interactions to do with one-on-one relationships.
We are being invited to grow and make some changes in our lives, particularly in terms of our thinking processes. We are being asked to find creative solutions and be completely honest with ourselves and others. The best way to achieve this is by the continual practice of self-care and self-nurturing.
We have tremendous focus and drive right now, which can tip into obsession. With this aspect an all-or-nothing attitude is very likely. Choose love over fear whenever possible. Not many people enjoy being second-guessed all the time, yet that is something that we are inclined to do now.
However, our determination to get to the bottom of any matter, to rip away falsehoods and expose true motives, can be used for good if we employ it in our work, for example, in regards to investigations or research. This is an opportunity to learn to harness our intense mental energy and apply it productively. We are also capable of very hard work, focus and effort now.
We have a great love of debate, but should be careful that we don’t overpower others with our strong opinions, attempting to “convert” them to our frame of mind, or treat regular exchanges of opinion as battlegrounds. Connect to others, empowering them with what you feel passionate about. Choose your words carefully, from a deeply connected and empowered place.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in degrees of 17-24 Libra, Capricorn, Aries or Cancer? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Scorpio (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Pluto rules Scorpio)
Thursday late evening, a Sun/Chiron opposition becomes exact at 9:22pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Monday evening; it will remain strong until Sunday evening. This aspect asks us to create a balance between two poles: on the one hand, our ability to create harmonious connections while remaining aware of an inner and outer balance — and on the other, being able to bring compassion and understanding to our insecurities and what we actively identify with.
Our confidence might not be at its strongest at this time. Oppositions can be acted out within relationships: one person embodies one of the energies, while the other person “holds” the energy of the other pole. When this happens, we sometimes experience the opposition as something that the other person is triggering in us.
In the case of this particular opposition, it may be someone poking at our wounds, or pointing out our shortcomings — which brings up our insecurities or secret shame. This may cause us to spin into anger, impatience, or frustration that is connected not only to what is happening at that moment but also to our past — especially our childhood.
If this happens, as best as you can, locate the original pain or wound — and bring compassion, love, understanding and forgiveness to yourself (and towards your younger Self). Healing can only take place if we are willing to embrace our “flaws” and love our most vulnerable places.
Blaming, shaming, attacking and justifying will not heal us faster — it will cause more pain and suffering, within us and around us. How quickly would you like to heal?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in degrees of 0-7 Libra, Aries, Cancer, or Capricorn? If so, you will feel this opposition quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo (the Sun rules Leo).
Also, Thursday, Saturn resumes its normal pace through the sky, ending its station. Over the last five months – since April 29th – we’ve done a lot of internal work on our life structures, responsibilities, and commitments, we now have a chance to apply this to the outside world.
What has come up in the last two weeks around our commitment to long-term goals and the need to be seen as a mature citizen of the world?
Capricorns, Aquarians (whether by Sun-sign or Ascendent) and people with personal planets in 12-16 degrees of Capricorn, Cancer, Aries, or Libra will feel a particularly strong sense of relief as Saturn goes direct and resumes its regular speed.
Friday, Sept. 27th:
Friday, the Moon remains in detail-oriented, practical Virgo all day (see Thursday morning for details).
Friday early morning, we are more capable than normal of looking at the details, and focusing on what’s sitting right in front of us that demands to be taken care of, so we can get to the next phase of accomplishment. We are invited to look at all the practical implications; we need to slow down and take our time if we are to manifest something that can stand the test of time — rushing things will most likely backfire right now.
Friday morning, seek a balance between head and heart, facts and faith, reason and intuition. That said, if you can achieve that balance, it’s a great day for being of service.
Friday late morning, we are being asked to stretch and grow — to undertake a process of belief-adjustment. You may feel a little scatter-brained or all over the map. As best as you can, stay flexible — and don’t be too hard on yourself.
Friday afternoon, we can potentially accomplish quite a bit: The Moon in Virgo makes a harmonious aspect to Pluto in Capricorn. Virgo and Capricorn are Earth signs, so getting down to business and focusing on the task at hand takes less effort than normal. We are able to tackle anything that requires attention to detail and maybe even implement health routines or other systems that support our long-term goals.
Friday late evening, a somewhat challenging Venus/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 10:50pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Thursday night on, it will remain strong until Saturday evening. This aspect operates more on an internal level. We feel uneasy about something, almost awkward — and we need to make a choice. An inner awareness needs to be developed in order to see what needs adjusting.
We may have an unrealistic sense of our ability to relate right now and be attracted to others based on inaccurate perceptions — and on incorrect appraisals of who we are and where we are going. We might also get confused when we aren’t able to connect with others in harmonious ways. As we show genuine self-acceptance, and trusting our connection to the divine, our range of expression for love increases.
It is also worthwhile to look more carefully at how our ideas are received by others. Can we involve them in our dreams? As best as you can, slow down: “If a thing is worth having, it’s worth waiting for.” Just for right now, could you simply have faith that everything will align eventually?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 15-18 degrees of Libra or Pisces? If so, you will feel this aspect quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Pisces (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Neptune is the ruler of Pisces).
Friday at 11:58pm EDT, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that lasts for a little over 6 hours until 6:03am EDT (Saturday morning). If you are awake during this intuitive time, use it to make those work or health improvements that you’ve been meaning to get to. Make well-being your goal!
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Friday night until Saturday morning ahead of time.
Saturday, Sept. 28th:
Saturday, the Moon remains in detail-oriented, practical Virgo and VoC until 6:03am EDT; at that time, the Moon moves into harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra, where it will journey until Monday morning (Sept. 30th). The energy of the Libra Moon helps us be naturally courteous and diplomatic; we are more polite at this time, as we seek the approval of others.
We very much want to maintain equal, fair relationships at this time and are therefore open to making compromises and negotiating — these next two days are a great time for mediation — but our need for peace and our aversion to direct conflict could pull us to “yes” more easily than we might like.
We may also be able see both sides of the equation so well that we can’t make decisions. As best as you can, find an inner balance with this and communicate what needs to be said with grace and charm — even if it’s “No” 😉 One last quick note: this is also a great time for anything to do with visual arts.
Saturday afternoon, at 2:26pm EDT, the Moon aligns with the Sun in almost 5.5 degrees of Libra, beginning a new Moon cycle.
New Moons are introverted times, when we go within to learn what we wish to align ourselves with for the next 28 days; with this New Moon in harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra, this will likely be win-win situations, fair exchanges, and harmony (within our relationships and with our general environment). Check out my New Moon video to learn more about this (will be posted by Sept. 24th)
Even though we have four planets in Libra at the time of this New Moon, including Venus (the ruler of Libra), harmony and balance is not something that is easily achieved with this lunation. We have plenty of challenging aspects in this New Moon chart, that might keep us off-balance — to say nothing of the Pluto Station phase that has been intensifying since Sept. 22nd, and is coming to a complete halt on Oct. 3rd, only 5 days after the New Moon becomes exact.
More about those details in a moment…. I just want to mention quickly that if you missed our FORECASTING FORUM on Sept. 19th, you may want to purchase the mp4-video presentation of this event — we discussed the Pluto Station in Capricorn (the planet is getting ready to go direct), and its relationship to our own Birth charts, and we also covered the Saturn Station phase.

Ok, let’s get back to the New Moon — and specifically, the Libra component of this New Moon chart…
All relationships begin with our relationship to ourselves — everything “out there” is really “inside us”… Ideally speaking, interacting with another person is a co-creative, equal exchange — we must be centered within ourselves, yet also tuned into each other, all the while responding to the rhythm of life.
Here are some useful questions to ask yourself for this new Moon cycle: Where is the balance point? What comes up for me when I hear the phrase “the art of relationship”?
As the seventh sign in the zodiac, Libra represents a major turning point, one that invites us to investigate ourselves through the lens of “relationship” (i.e. relating on a one-on-one level). We bring with us anything we haven’t mastered from the six signs that precede Libra to all our relationships, attracting people into our lives who mirror back to us our relationship with ourselves; Libra thus invites us to see all of our issues, resolve them, and become whole.
Ask yourself: What if harmony and peace were mine to create within me first?
The Libra energy encourages us to see both sides of a situation and find the middle path (or better yet, a win-win); in order to reconcile opposite energies, we need to seek the highest and best outcome for everyone involved — in other words, we need to see everyone as equally deserving — including ourselves.
Libra also represents the quest for…. To read the whole article and get all the Coaching Questions for this month’s New Moon, click here.
Do you have your Ascendant (or any personal planets) in 3-8 degrees of Libra, Aries, Capricorn or Cancer? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).
The New Moon is also the best time to set some powerful intentions for this month’s Moon cycle. Intentions are best done soon after the New Moon becomes exact — and definitely not during a Moon void of course phase. So this month, the best time to set intentions would be any time between 2:26pm (Saturday afternoon) and 10:06pm (Sunday evening); then again from 5:42am (Monday morning) until 2:26pm Monday afternoon (Sept. 30th).
If you live in a timezone other than EDT (US East Coast-time), feel free to join my Facebook Fan-page or follow me on twitter. I will be posting reminders on Saturday afternoon and evening, Sunday throughout the day and Monday before 2:26pm EDT, to let you know when it is time to set your intentions 😉 For more info about Setting New Moon Intentions click here.
Saturday evening, an opportune Venus/Jupiter aspect becomes exact at 7:41pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Thursday evening on, it will remain strong until Monday evening (Sept. 30th). We have an opportunity to grow in our social and personal relationships at this time. Humor and caring play a big role in our interactions with others.
We can call upon tolerance, optimism and co-operation when dealing with loved ones now. Financially speaking, things are “on the up”; we may have opportunities now to expand our pocketbooks, if we make sound decisions that are in the interest of everyone involved.
Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 16-20 degrees of Libra, Sagittarius, Aquarius or Leo? If so, you may be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Sagittarius (Venus rules Taurus and Libra; Jupiter rules Sagittarius)
Sunday, Sept. 29th:
Sunday, the Moon remains in harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra all day (see Saturday morning for details).
If you haven’t set your New Moon Intentions yet, today (Sunday) until 10:06pm EDT is still time to do so during the most potent time… If you’d like some input on how to do that, check out this article — you could also (re-)watch my New Moon video.
Sunday very early morning, a somewhat challenging Sun/Uranus aspect becomes exact at 12:14am EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from early morning Saturday on, it will remain strong until Sunday night. This aspect operates more on an internal level. We feel uneasy about something, almost awkward — and we need to make a choice… so we need to develop inner awareness.
An unexpected turn of events could leave us uneasy or unsettled. How flexible could you be, if you really tried? What needs to be shifted internally, so you can stay open and aligned with your unique, divine values?
Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 4-7 degrees of Libra or Taurus? If so, you may be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aquarius or Leo (the Sun rules Leo; Uranus rules Aquarius)
Sunday early morning, we are invited to make some adjustments in our lives and find creative solutions to seemingly unsolvable situations. As best as you can, look for solid foundations under any long-term goals currently underway, and for ways to create win-win outcomes for one-on-one relationships.
Sunday morning: we are invited to make some internal adjustments. We may want to connect with others, but may also need to tune in to our intuitive inner voice. What do you hear when you get really quiet?
Sunday late morning, we have an opportunity to connect with others for collaboration and an exploration of our beliefs about life. What does expansion of the mind look like? How might a wider view support our connections with others?
Sunday afternoon, we may need to make some adjustments and find creative ways to work with the energies at play: On the one hand we need to collaborate with others and play nice, on the other hand, we feel a deep desire to be authentic and truthful about what we want to build long-term.
Sunday at 10:06pm EDT, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that lasts for a little over 7.5 hours until 5:42am EDT (Monday morning – Sept. 30th). If you are awake during this intuitive time, use it to connect with others one-on-one, and seek to have a balanced experience whenever possible. What if you communicated from a fair and collaborative standpoint? What if you listened with the intention of creating win-wins?
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Sunday late evening until Monday morning ahead of time.
And…
A heads up for next Monday (Sept. 30th): the Moon remains in harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra and VoC until 5:42am EDT; at that time, the Moon moves into passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio, where it will journey until Wednesday morning (Oct. 2nd). From 5:42am until 2:26pm EDT is our last chance to set our New Moon Intentions! And, Monday night/Tuesday very early morning, a challenging Venus/Pluto aspect becomes exact at 12:18am EDT; we start to feel this aspect build from Saturday evening (Sept. 28th) on, it will remain strong until Thursday morning (Oct. 3rd). More about all the details in next week’s forecast 🙂
One More Announcement:
