Full Moon in Sagittarius — article | Astrologer Coach Sonja Francis

On June 17th at 4:31am EDT, the Full Moon in almost 26 degrees of Sagittarius becomes exact. We started to feel this aspect from the moment the Moon entered Sagittarius, early on Saturday morning, June 15th. If you are currently a Member, and want to learn more about this month’s Full Moon, please click here to watch my video.

As many of you already know, my website had some issues this past weekend; if you want to know how this might have impacted you, or are just curious about what was going on, please read the last paragraph of this article.

For the next two weeks, we seek balance, as we become more aware of something that needs to be brought into alignment or integrated. The balance in question is between our mental processes — symbolized by Gemini — and our quest for a larger truth or meaning (linked to Sagittarius).

It’s important to realize that the Sagittarian urge to “go beyond” is essential for our growth; when it comes to balancing these energies, that same urge can play a crucial role in how we interact with others and share information — in other words, that Gemini energy.

The Moon Nodes in Cancer/Capricorn, Neptune in Pisces, and Jupiter in Sagittarius all play a crucial role in this Full Moon chart. Jupiter is still retrograde at the time of the Full Moon — and this signifies an inner process of some sort, one directly connected to the Full Moon energy.

The Moon Nodes are conjunct Mercury & Mars on the Cancer end, and Pluto & Saturn on the Capricorn end; this asks us to find a healthy balance between inner and outer satisfaction and fulfillment.

As you may recall from my last New Moon video/article, Neptune is still exalted, preparing for its retrograde phase on June 21st.

More about the specifics in a moment, but one thing to remember in general: Full Moons are always times of awareness and culmination. We see things that we have not seen before, and we get a chance to make some changes, if we don’t like what we see. So think back to the New Moon phase that started on June 3rd: What seeds were planted at that time? What has culminated since?

So let’s first talk about the Sagittarius-Gemini polarity: At its highest vibration, Sagittarius shows us…

At its highest vibration, Sagittarius shows us a wider perspective, one that has us looking beyond facts and learned knowledge to our direct life experiences and the wisdom gained thereby. It’s all about seeking a higher truth, and a higher meaning for life’s challenges — a philosophy that would help us understand life’s trials and tribulations.

So that’s Sagittarius’s highest vibration — what of its shadow side? When we suppress this energy inside of us, we become unquestioningly attached to our belief systems and the stories we tell ourselves about life — and therefore self-righteous — perhaps we even persecute those who differ in their point of view.

Now let’s look at Gemini: at its highest vibration, this sign helps us stay connected to our immediate environment and “day-to-day mind” — processing and sharing as much information as we can, as quickly as possible — we stay curious, constantly looking for ways to learn what we need to connect all the dots and communicate intelligently.

When we suppress the higher vibration of the Gemini energy, we likewise move into its shadow side: superficiality, talking without listening, chattering randomly, sharing information without substance or meaning.

Ask yourself: What is the difference between information and interpretation? What might change for me if I questioned my assumptions and what I think I know? Who I think I am? Why things are the way they are? What new information might I spot if I stepped back and took a wider view?

Mercury, the ruler of Gemini, is in 19 degrees of Cancer at the time of the Full Moon, conjunct the North Node and Mars in Cancer, and opposing the South Node/Saturn/Pluto alignment in Capricorn. Last but not least, Mercury also quincunxes Jupiter. So let’s unpack all that…

With Mercury in Cancer, we want to share with loved ones and connect to what’s familiar; we are more sensitive to our surroundings, and might take things more personally.

The alignment to Mars and the North Node asks us to put effort into connecting on an emotional level, and into taking care of things close to our heart — especially in connection with food, family, real-estate, self-care, our home, and our upbringing. As best as you can, take care of yourself, honor your feelings… and relax: All good things come to those who truly know how to take care of themselves 😉

Mercury opposing the South Node/Saturn/Pluto alignment in Capricorn asks that we examine how we are communicating and take responsibility for how our word-choice lands for others. As best as you can, find your inner balance so you can speak from a kind, nurturing, and truthful place — while remaining committed to your long-term goals. We are being asked to be both mindful and “heartful” — to couple the power of our thoughts with the truth of love.

Saturn and Pluto are currently Retrograde, indicating that we might want to take take a closer look at our inner processes around feeling empowered, and around trust in our own authority.

Ask yourself: Where do I sometimes give my power away? Who did I put in charge of what I feel? Or experience? To whom have I delegated the decision of what’s best for me? Who gets to decide how empowered I feel? What if I paid 5% more attention to my inner state? What if I took 5% more responsibility for who I’m being, and how that makes me feel?

As best as you can, allow yourself to take your time processing things… emotionally, physically, mentally,… there is no rush, unless you decide there is 😉

Last but not least, one more Mercury aspect — it quincunxes Jupiter in Sagittarius: As best you can, honor both your need for adventure and exploration and your need for safety and the care of your “inner baby”. This is an uncomfortable inner adjustment.

You may also feel a pull between introversion and extraversion, or simply between  expansion and protection; tune in for a moment and see if you need to slow down a little — as best as you can, be compassionate and nurturing with yourself, physically and emotionally

Jupiter (the ruler of Sagittarius) is still retrograde; we are currently therefore accessing its energy from within, so ask yourself: What’s my inner process around the stories I tell myself about life? What about the filters I have in place? And the expectations I have because of those stories and filters? What are my inner attitudes, and how do I view my current life situation? What would I see if I floated up above the current views? What new possibility could I be about creating?

Jupiter in Sagittarius conjuncts the Moon and opposes the Sun in Gemini. This gives a stronger emphasis to the questioning of old assumptions, and looking for what is really true for ourselves in the now-moment. Naturally, we all perceive, process, and communicate through the filters of our gender, education, culture, religion, and history, both personal and beyond. That said, the more we learn, the harder it is to judge, objectify, or abuse others.

Ask yourself: Might stepping outside my familiar environment generate a wider perspective? How would I think about life, if I identified as  _______ (fill in the blank — a different gender, asexual, differently “abled”, of different ancestry, a different relationship status or religious affiliation or income bracket or height, part of a larger family, an orphan, etc…)?

Once again, Neptune plays a crucial role in the Full Moon chart — it’s still Stationing (and therefore exalted), trines the Mars/Mercury/North Node alignment in Cancer, and sextiles the Pluto/Saturn/South Node alignment in Capricorn. Ok, let’s unpack all of that too…

Neptune in Pisces reminds us that we are spirits in human form, so we can always call on our spirit guides or human angels for help. This is an excellent time for creative projects, and heart-to-heart talks. Ask yourself: Where could I be more understanding and accepting of myself and others? How strong are my connections to loved ones? Do I have people that form an emotional support system? Do I have people who support my feeling nurtured and loved?

The Water Trine brings a wonderful flow to our ability to trust, rest, let go, and nurture ourselves. Ask yourself: If I got really quiet, might I find I can connect to the flow of life? Might I get a glimpse of the love that is always present everywhere? Could I simply ask my Higher Self to support me in letting things unfold for the highest good of everyone involved?

The Sextile to the Pluto/Saturn/South Node alignment gives us an opportunity to release any obsessions or rigidities around long-term goals, and instead trust and open our heart, staying present to the divine unfolding that happens in every moment of now.

Ask yourself: How does slowing down and “feeling into myself” support my connection to the divine, and as a result, divine outcomes?

To sum it all up for this Full Moon: Gemini & Sagittarius are both extroverted, social signs, yet all the Water and Earth signs in this Full Moon chart promote our connection to the feminine energies within us (both our physical and feeling-body).

If something resonates with you, it means it is aligned with your energy, so move toward that which resonates and away from that which does not. There’s no need for “judgement” here, simply listen to your physical and feeling body, heed your inner guidance, and ask yourself: Where have I been getting drained? Where do I get recharged? Where lies the path of least resistance towards myself?

The next two weeks require some inner adjustments: On the one hand, there is a desire to expand our horizons and learn more about life — and on the other, a need to nurture the mind and stay in touch with our feeling-body. As best as you can, stay as open-minded as possible; nothing will be gained by clinging to the past, or insisting on your truth being “the” truth.

It’s best for us to move forward slowly but surely, knowing that our sense of balance must come from within, and (as best as we can), staying rooted in the inner knowing that all is well.

Ask yourself: What kind of experiences outside of my everyday life might widen my perspective and understanding of life? Who supports my journey towards greater self-realization? What or who “feeds” me? Could I allow those connections to grow stronger and more meaningful?

I also want to mention briefly what’s been happening with my website. As you may have noticed, there was limited access from June 7th-12th. My website team was running an update, and in the process the website crashed. When we restored the site from a backup, it still had serious issues, and we had to put the pieces of the puzzle together again. It took about three days to get the website mostly functioning again, and unfortunately, there are still some minor issues outstanding.

Everyone has been so patient and understanding about it all, and I truly appreciate all of you so much for your patience — and if there is anything we can support you with, please do not hesitate to reach out to us: info@AstrologerCoach.com

Love and blessings,
Sonja & Team
