On Feb. 23rd, at 10:32am EST, the Moon aligns with the Sun in 4.5 degrees of Pisces; this marks the beginning of a new Moon cycle. Feel free to also watch my New Moon video on the subject. (will be posted by Feb.19th)
This New Moon chart has a lot of layers and we are definitely dealing with lots of feminine energies for the next four weeks: 4 planets in Pisces (including a Retrograde Mercury), 4 planets in Capricorn, and one planet in Taurus. That’s 9 out of 10 planets in feminine signs, and that doesn’t include the Moon Nodes, which are also in feminine signs (Cancer/Capricorn) 😉
As you can imagine, this invites us to focus on our inner processes, our ability to receive, our connection to intuition, and our desire to contribute to life from a heart centered and grounded place. Our emotional and physical bodies are giving us the information we need right now, to get connected to ourselves and the things we want to contribute out there in the world. If we listen carefully we will also understand much better what pace is required to accomplish things without overwhelming ourselves.
Since Neptune rules Pisces and Saturn rules Capricorn, these two planets play an important role in this New Moon chart. We will talk a little bit about them in a moment. But first, let’s talk about Pisces, to see what this New Moon is all about:
Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac. It connects us to our spiritual journey, as it represents a reunion with Source/God/the Universe. When at its highest vibration, Pisces unifies all dualities — it is completely aware of the oneness of all. It tells us there is a…

…union within, that exists always, and we can tap into it.
Ask yourself: Am I (in other words, do I exist)? Could I let that be enough, just for right now? Keep repeating these questions until you feel completely relaxed and at peace.
Now, close your eyes, and ask yourself: Am I my body or am I more than that? Am I the sounds that I can hear inside and outside my head, or am I more than that? Am I the sensations that I can feel and receive, or am I more than that? And, if I am more than those things, where do I begin? Where do I end?
Pisces is accepting and aware of its eternal nature. It lovingly allows all, because it knows that there is no real separation between things, that separation only exists in the mind.
At its lowest vibration however, Pisces feels separate, fearful, and victimized. It wants to escape the harsh physical realities of this world. We get trapped in this lower vibration when we don’t go within to connect with our inner divinity, when we don’t rest enough, when we can’t trust ourselves, our inner processes and intuitive Selves.
Ask yourself: What is in the way of a connection to my inner divinity? What prevents me from slowing down, turning inwards, and trusting my inner guidance? What if I opened just 5% to the perfection of life? What if I trusted 5% more to universal timing? Might plenty of downtime and rest actually support my reconnection to Source-energy? Or to my intuitive Self?
This New Moon aligns with Mercury in Pisces (currently Retrograde): this amplifies the message to go within and get in touch with our inner divine light. All Retrograde phases invite us to move towards greater alignment with ourselves and the world. We see more clearly the gaps and disharmony between inner and outer, which gives us a chance to have greater clarity, and ultimately, greater alignment.
Mercury started it’s Retrograde phase a week before the New Moon becomes exact. This brings awareness to our thinking, and how we process and share information; we are more sensitive to our surroundings, we feel more effected by what other say or think,… conscious and unconsciously.
We are also more aware of our own inner dialog and how connected or separate we feel to God/Source/the Universe. Ask yourself: What might I hear if I listened to my intuitive, creative thought-forms? What messages might I get, if I paid 5% more attention to my dreams? Or to the subtle energies inside and outside of me? To my sixth sense? How does self-trust show up? What might compassionate self-talk look like?
Until March 9th is an optimal time to catch up on unfinished business, repair what’s not working, reconnecting with people, places or things that bring us closer to our divinity, revising our current compassionate approach to life, and researching or revisiting creative or spiritual projects or ideas we’d like to engage in or reconnect with… especially in the area where Mercury shows up in our natal chart…
If you want to know how the Mercury Retrograde in Pisces is impacting you personally, feel free to watch the mp4 video-presentation of our latest Forecasting Forum — we applied what’s coming up to our own birth charts. Here is an excerpt from the webinar. For the full 100 min. webinar click here
The New Moon makes a sextile to Mars & the South Node in Capricorn. We get an opportunity to be very present — and also to focus on practicalities and long-term plans.
As best as you can, allow yourself to slow down and connect with nature, your body, your breath. Doing so, will help you manifest more in less time… We don’t manifest more or faster by rushing it, but by simply being in tune with the creative process…
Ask yourself: Where am I heading? If everything is energy, and everything is always in perfect alignment on an energetic level, how could I get more in tune with my own energy body? If I did tune in, is it at least possible that I could then be in perfect alignment with my goals? What would trusting the unfolding of my goals look like?
The New Moon also makes a sextile to Uranus in Taurus. Here, we get an opportunity to connect with others and share a new vision about the Earth, or to reinvent how we connect with “the good things in life”.
As best as you can, bring a sense of flow and faith to who you are being and what’s important to you; allow yourself to intuitively share some progressive, new ideas about what you value, and things that could make yours and other people’s life easier on a very practical level.
Ask yourself: What if the whole Universe was intelligent? What if that included every cell in my body? What knowledge would my body want to share with me?
Let’s talk a little bit about Neptune in Pisces & Saturn in Capricorn:
Both plants are in their own signs, which is the reason that they are so dominant in this New Moon chart. All the other planets that are currently moving through in Pisces & Capricorn answer to Neptune and Saturn.
Neptune at its highest/lightest vibration is all about: universal love (impersonal), acceptance, unity, allowing, sensing, intuiting, oneness, presence, divine energy, pure creation, tapping into the pool of universal consciousness, etc.
Saturn at its highest/lightest vibration is all about: time, structure, definition, honoring limitations, healthy boundaries, focus, integrity, responsibility, maturity, personal command, expertise, sovereignty, self-mastery, etc.
Ask yourself: Do I like what I see out there in the world? If I don’t like what I see, could I change my mind about how I perceive life? Could I open my heart 5% more? Could I take responsibility for my own projections & stay focused on myself? Could I own my own limitations & fears?
What if I chose love whenever fear showed up? What if I allowed for it all to be what it currently is and let go of judgment, resentment, fear and wanting to be separate? How might “neutral observation” of myself and others support my journey towards self-mastery?
What might change for me if I knew for certain that everything is proceeding according to plan? What might reconnect me to trusting my own divinity, my own eternal nature?
Chiron in Aries squares Mars in Capricorn and the Moon Nodes in Cancer/Capricorn: this amplifies the message to be conscious of our individual healing journey — we are at a turning point — and this one is a turning point, not only in our own individual lives, but also in our collective, spiritual journey.
Suppressing or denying our passions and personal styles of leadership is not recommended at this time. Think: James Bond on a quest to heal himself, and embrace his sensitivities and insecurities. Another version might be: James Bond on a quest towards self-mastery after finding out that his body has been insured in such a way that he can no longer do what he has done in the past/up until now.
Ask yourself: How could I best honor my sensitives and insecurities — acknowledging and embracing that I am human? What small (or large) steps could I take to embrace myself exactly as I am right now and as I am not? Could self-acceptance include all my so called flaws or injuries? Could it even include my unique impulses?
What if who I am is perfect, even if it’s not a perfect fit with the rest of society? What does my own unique version of leadership look like? Where might I locate this energy within me? If I found it, what might I do with it?
What might be a turning point for me at this time? In what ways would I need to adjust and find creative solutions?
During this time of change and transformation, self-care and a balanced approach to life is definitely worth our attention… Make sure you get plenty of rest, affection, water and healthy nutritious foods 😉
To Sum it all up: Tap into the divinity within through any, some, or all of the following: meditation; being in nature; music; dance; energy healing; dream work; creative writing; art; being with your intuition. In the silence we feel the oneness with all there is, we feel the unconditional love the Universe provides.
The next 28 days are an opportunity to tap into our intuitive and imaginative abilities — then focus anew on what’s important for us… again, without rushing it. As best as you can, unplug and listen deeply to your heart and soul. Allow for all feelings to flow; allow for yourself to be with what is, without needing to change or fix anything. Then, and only then, take action!
Take 5-minute breaks here and there, if you possibly can, to get quiet and be with yourself (your intuitive/feeling Self). Also, ask yourself: What might a healthy connection with the energetic world feel like? What if I were 5% more interested in my inner world? What if I simply embraced whatever I discovered there? Could I simply allow what “is” to “just be”, just for this very moment?
We are invited to take actions that are aligned with intuition, and honor our boundaries… perhaps even remove ourselves from situations, when that is the loving thing to do.
In other words: we move with “all is well”, no matter what the appearance or view looks like, out there in the world. We trust our inner senses. This is something we need to relearn; we are so conditioned to focus on the outside world for answers, to look to our mind-chatter for answers, or to close off and protect ourselves.
Ask yourself: What results might I get if I tapped into inner courage? Inner sensing/intuition? The power of compassion? And what if I tapped into all of them at the same time?

Do you have your Ascendant or any personal planets in 2-7 degrees of Pisces, Virgo, Gemini or Sagittarius? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly for the next 28 days. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).
The New Moon is also the best time to set some powerful intentions for this month’s Moon cycle. Intentions are best done soon after the New Moon becomes exact — and definitely not during a Moon void of course phase.
So this month, the best time to set intentions would be between 10:32am on Feb. 23rd and 9:12am on Feb. 25th (New York-time)
