Conservation & Moderation

This week’s headline items: The Balsamic Moon phase begins Monday evening; Mercury exits its post-Shadow phase on Wednesday early afternoon and Neptune resumes its normal pace that same day. On Thursday, Chiron’s Station intensifies; the New Moon in Cancer becomes exact Friday late evening; early Sunday, Mercury changes signs from Gemini to Cancer.

There will be three Moon VoC phases this week: Monday early afternoon (for almost 8.5 hours), Wednesday night/Thursday very early morning (for 9.5 hours) and Saturday early afternoon (for a little over 8 hours).

Before we get to this week’s forecast, let me make a quick announcement:

For those of you who have not yet had a chance to watch the Intro to Soul-Based Astrology, now is a great time to do so! It is available for FREE right now. Now, this week’s Forecast…

Monday, July 5th:

Monday, the Moon remains in steady, peaceful Taurus. It will journey there until 9:24pm EDT. We love all physical comforts, prefer consistency, and would rather stick with what we know works well. In other words: change is not our favorite thing and “rushing things” goes against our grain.

What is our favorite thing for the rest of today? It’s probably slowing down and getting in touch with whatever delights our senses 😉

Monday at 12:57pm EDT, we enter a Moon VoC that will last for almost 8.5 hours, until 9:24pm EDT.  Use this intuitive time to empower each other in regards to earthly issues and mutually support each other in practical ways.

As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Monday early afternoon until the late evening ahead of time.

Monday afternoonan opportune Sun/Uranus aspect becomes exact at 3:14pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from last week Saturday (July 3rd) on; and it will remain strong until this Wednesday evening (July 7th). We have the opportunity to become aware of an original or unique approach to life. Flexibility is the key to success at this time; pleasant changes may be in store — certainly unexpected ones 😉

Ask yourself: What is my uniqueness? How could I express that proudly and authentically? As best as you can, watch out for messages from the Universe! Remember: an opportunity is not automatically given to us: We have to “realize” it.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 12-16 degrees of Cancer, Taurus, Pisces or Virgo? If so, you will be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Aquarius (the Sun rules Leo; Uranus rules Aquarius)

Also on Mondayaround 6:40pm EDT, the Balsamic Moon phase begins as the Moon reaches 29 degrees of Taurus. This lasts until Friday late evening, when the New Moon in Cancer becomes exact (more on that on Friday… however, feel free to watch my video on the subject here). We are being asked to slow down and get quiet, so we can listen to our inner sensing/intuition.

For some of us, this might be a stretch. As best as you can: stay grounded, take a deep breath and exhale any tensions. Rather than starting something brand-new, put all that energy into completing existing projects or processes.

This is also a great time for letting go of whatever no longer serves us. What if you could hear the voice of your inner wisdom? What might it be saying?

Monday at 9:24pm EDTthe Moon moves into chatty, versatile Gemini, where it will journey until Thursday late morning. For the next two-and-a-half days, we like to learn, connect and interact as much as possible. “Busy” feels good: connecting online, on the phone, or sharing face-to-face, preferably multi-tasking all the way…

The one thing we can do without is boredom: If our mind is not engaged in some way, we…

The one thing we can do without is boredom: If our mind is not engaged in some way, we might as well curl up and play dead 🙂

Tuesday, July 6th:

Tuesday, the Moon remains in chatty, versatile Gemini all day (see Monday late evening for details).

Tuesday very early morning, a challenging Mercury/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 3:39am EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from last week Friday evening (July 2nd) on; and it will remain strong until this Thursday evening. This aspect asks us to stretch ourselves and grow. This is the second time within the last four weeks that we will experience this aspect, due to Mercury’s Retrograde phase; the first time was May 18th – June 10th.

Think back to that time: What did you communicate to others at that time — and how? What came up intuitively? Did you get a chance to tune in or rest more? What was your inner dialog all about?

Feel free to also watch my additional support video on the subject.

We may experience a lack of clarity and objectivity during this time. We might make embarrassing errors, neglect important details, or carry some delusions now. Our lack of clarity may make it difficult for others to understand us.

We are more imaginative now, and easily swayed by the opinions of others. We can be highly creative and inspired under this influence, but also overly sensitive, touchy, or impractical.

It can be hard to follow routines. Concentrating on monotonous tasks and work (or study that involves attention to detail or rote learning) may also be challenging at this time. As best as you can, be compassionate with yourself and others during these 6 days — and watch out for any tendency to make hasty decisions or to be naïve about something you hear or read.

We also might look for some vision, ideal, or dream to motivate us or stir our imagination. As best as you can, be gentle with yourself and others, seek to understand before seeking to be understood.

Ask yourself: Before moving forward with a communication or decision, could I tune in and get really clear about my energy body, and what is needed in this current moment? What if I granted 5% more trust to my inner guidance? What might I hear if I listened 5% more closely to the subtle messages of my divine nature?

We also tend to feel scattered at this time. Should you observe that in yourself, try asking: What might happen if I slowed down and listened to my intuition instead of letting my mind run?

If you have an important contract to sign or negotiate, if possible, wait until after July 8th.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 20-26 degrees of Gemini, Pisces, Sagittarius and Virgo? If so, you are more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Pisces (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Neptune rules Pisces).

Tuesday late evening, a Venus/Saturn opposition becomes exact at 10:36pm EDT. We start to feel this aspect build from last week, Sunday (July 4th) on, it will remain strong until this Friday. This might be a time of relationship tests or trials: we may not be attracting the things and people that we want in our lives — at least, not as easily as we were before this transit.

This can be eye-opening — a signal to work on improving the “ways” (as well as the “things”) that we bring to partnerships or to our finances. Doubts could be raised now. But what’s really required is that we slow things down and be as realistic as we can possibly be.

We could be withdrawing or holding back a little, as we attempt to figure out what we want and need — and what we enjoy.

We are working towards ridding ourselves of self-delusion when it comes to partnerships, socializing and finances. In the process, we might feel disdain for inauthentic interactions and resent “going through the motions” on a social and/or mental level.

Our goal here is to make more connections aligned with our own truth. Relationships built on weak foundations may not survive, but stronger ones can be improved and strengthened.

Financial matters might be stressful for the time being; this forces us into a position of conservation and moderation. As best as you can, find your inner balance with this — and on an external level with others.

Think back to early February of this year, when Venus was conjunct Saturn in Aquarius. With Venus opposing Saturn now, we can start to see the fruits of the seeds that were planted back then. So: What were the seeds then? What are the fruits now?

In other words: What has emerged since early February, in regards to who and what you value? We are also now more aware of what we have (and haven’t) learned since then… Do you like what you see? Is there room for more learning, more integration? Do the commitments you made then feel both attainable and joyful?

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 9-15 degrees of Leo, Aquarius, Taurus or Scorpio? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Capricorn (the Sun rules Leo; Saturn rules Capricorn)

Wednesday, July 7th:

Wednesday, the Moon remains in chatty, versatile Gemini all day (see Monday late evening for details).

Wednesday early afternoon, around 12pm EDT, Mercury’s post-Shadow phase ends. As you may recall, two weeks ago, on June 22nd, when Mercury stationed direct, I mentioned the Mercury Shadow phases as well: If you want to buy, sell or ship big-ticket items, it’s best to avoid the periods shortly before Mercury goes retrograde and after Mercury goes direct. This is especially true if the items are connected to transportation (cars, plane tickets, etc.) or communication (phone, computer, iPad, etc.)

The good news is, this Shadow phase ends today (Wednesday), when Mercury reaches 24º41’ of Gemini. This means that we can finally go ahead and book those plane tickets — or buy that new car or iPhone (or anything else communication- or transportation-related). We can also more easily take in new information, so teaching, sharing and learning will be more effective.

Wednesday afternoon, a harmonious Venus/Chiron aspect becomes exact at 4:09pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Monday morning on, it will remain strong until this Friday afternoon. This heightens compassion and understanding and helps heal some wounds from the past. We also get a chance to engage in a humorous way about our own flaws and insecurities.

We are more willing to be open and courageous, trusting that the other person has our best interest at heart; we also more easily see beauty in human weaknesses, rather than fault — it’s a strong time for seeing potential in one another. What potential do you see?

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 10-16 degrees of Leo, Aries, or Sagittarius? If so, you are more blessed by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus or Libra (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra).

Wednesday night/Thursday very early morning, at 12:20am EDT, we enter a Moon VoC that will last for 9.5 hours, until 9:51pm  EDT. Use this intuitive time to connect with others  and share yourself. Communicate your needs, share your thoughts, or learn something new — maybe even teach something.

Could you allow yourself to be 5% more curious and open-minded? What if there were a way to communicate your preferences without becoming attached to getting it all? What if you listened as well as you speak?

As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Wednesday night until Thursday late morning ahead of time.

Also on Wednesday, Neptune resumes its normal pace through the sky, although retrograde, ending its station. What has come up in the last four weeks around resting, trusting and allowing? How closely are you in touch with your intuition? Now is a good time to do some internal work in this area (until the Retrograde phase ends on Dec. 1st).

Thursday, July 8th:

Thursday, the Moon remains in chatty, versatile Gemini and VoC until 9:51am EDT; at that time, the Moon moves into protective, nurturing Cancer, where it will journey until Saturday evening. With this Moon placement, we are more sensitive to what people say and therefore our feelings are more easily hurt — so be kind to yourself and others. Self-Care is key for the next two and half days 😉

Emotional safety is important to us as well; we like connecting to the familiar and we enjoy nurturing ourselves and others — home and family call to us, for instance. Make sure though, that your glass is filled before letting others drink from it, otherwise you might start to feel drained and resentful. This Moon placement also starts the build up to the New Moon (exact Friday evening — more on that then… however, feel free to watch my video on the subject here).

Thursday late morning/early afternoon, a somewhat challenging Mercury/Pluto aspect becomes exact at 11:36am EDT. We started feeling this aspect build from Wednesday early afternoon on; it will be strong until Friday early afternoon. This aspect operates more on an internal level. We feel uneasy about something, awkward, and need to make a choice — so we need to develop inner awareness.

Our compulsive side may lead us down a path that evades rational understanding. Our judgments — of circumstances, ourselves, others — can be so extreme during this aspect that we can’t seem to make intelligent and consistent progress in our life for the three days it is in effect.

As best as you can, strive to be more trusting and less strict with yourself for these three days. Surrender to whatever you are experiencing right now: It is temporary 😉

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 25-27 degrees of Gemini or Capricorn? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Scorpio (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio).

Thursday afternoon, a challenging Venus/Uranus aspect becomes exact 3:25pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Tuesday on, it will remain strong until Saturday late evening. This “stretch aspect” asks us to grow beyond what we know and have experienced in the past in regards to our relationships, and especially our romantic relationships.

Priorities may shift. We may experience clashes of taste or values within our networks; as you can imagine, we may feel some instability or restlessness in connection to others. We may also struggle with freedom versus material safety — the latter manifesting as fears around financial goals.

As best as you can, take a deep breath and hold off on decision-making with regards to finances — in particular, it is best to avoid impulse buys at this time.

In general, expect the unexpected: Things may take a different turn when it comes to the truly important. Keep your mind and heart open: if something demands elimination or change, it was waiting for that shift to happen anyway.

As best as you can, find creative solutions and stay flexible and adaptable. This is not the best time to take things too personally (but then again, is there ever a good time for that? 🙂

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 11-17 degrees Leo, Taurus, Aquarius or Scorpio? If so, you will feel this aspect quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Aquarius (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Uranus rules Aquarius).

Also on Thursday, Chiron’s Station intensifies in almost 13 degrees of Aries. Since Chiron comes to a halt next week, Thursday (July 15th); we will feel the effects of this intensified Station phase until July 21st. As mentioned in last week’s forecast already, Chiron’s energies are more exalted during this period.

Chiron is known as the “Wounded Healer”; in Aries, our attention is turned towards our physical and sexual wounds, and our wounding around self-identity, assertion, and anger. Chiron represents our inner insecurities, those self-conscious and wounded places. Chiron also represents the inner wound of abandonment and our need to “make it on our own”.

We are invited to approach these wounds on a holistic level, to heal them such that others are healed thereby. This is accomplished very simply and naturally when we work with the true beauty and strength of this energy: Compassion.

Having compassion for our own wounds or sensitivities heals them and allows healing compassion for the wounds we now see in others.

What physical or sexual wounding could you now acknowledge? Where are your insecurities around personal goals, the “masculine” energies (such as assertion or anger), or being a leader in your own unique way? What needs your compassion or even your love? What needs to heal?

For those of you who want to have a better understanding of your personal healing journey, feel free to join my online community and get automatic access to the mp3-recording of my Chiron-workshop: “Healing with Astrology” Click here for more info.

If you are already a Member of my online community, go to the “My Courses” tab, and you will find the Chiron workshop there.

We also talked more about the Chiron Station and Retrograde phase in Aries, in relationship to your own Birth chart, in our last Forecasting Forum. Click here to get the 90+ min. webinar on the subject.

Those of us with personal planets and points (ASC or MC) in 11-15 degrees of Aries, Libra, Cancer, or Capricorn will feel this station more strongly.

Friday, July 9th:

Friday, the Moon remains protective, nurturing Cancer all day (see Thursday late evening for details).

Friday late morning, we are asked to make some inner adjustments, as we may experience some internal discomfort. Personal comfort and safety is important for the Moon in Cancer, yet Saturn in Aquarius reminds us that staying attached to the past is not going to lead to new creations, or bring forth new visions for the future. (Moon in Cancer quincunxes Saturn in Aquarius, exact 9:15am EDT)

Friday early afternoon, brings an opportunity to connect to family (or friends that feel like family) and create breakthroughs around things that we enjoy through our five senses (e.g. food). This may also be a good time to find a unique or global approach on financial matters that bring us a sense of emotional security. (Moon in Cancer sextiles Uranus in Taurus, exact 1:38pm EDT)

Friday late evening, at 9:17pm EDTthe New Moon becomes exact in 18 degrees of Cancer; this is the beginning of a new Moon cycle. Feel free to watch my New Moon video on the subject.

This New Moon has a lot of aspects to other planets in this New Moon chart, especially much slower moving ones — including Chiron, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. Whenever a faster moving body links up with slower, outer planets in close aspect, the collective desire for change increases. But first let’s talk about the Cancer archetype:

Cancer is the first water sign of the zodiac, as such, it relates to the development of the “emotional body” — so this Moon cycle will continue to amplify feelings, instincts and needs.

Our feeling nature has been denied and suppressed for millennia, but we have begun to embrace it more fully — feelings are an essential source of information about our true needs — they are a dashboard that tells us what is healthy for us. When we don’t heed the information, we become dependent on others for validation and direction, or get lost in addictions and distractions.

With this New Moon occurring in protective, introverted Cancer, we’ll surround ourselves with quality and safety; we can expect anything connected to home, family, real-estate or childhood issues to be heightened in our awareness for the next four weeks.

In Cancer, this New Moon highlights the importance of listening to our feelings, focusing on Self-care, healing old wounds from the past, and releasing unhealthy patterns that keep us stuck in the past.

Cancer is all about supporting and protecting life, but many of us are conditioned to ignore our bodies and our environment — along with our inner life, feeling-bodies, and emotional/spiritual connection to other life forms.

This creates a disconnect not only from our true selves but also from the rest of the world. Most of us tend to put little value on emotional intelligence, but it’s very hard to have meaningful, authentic connections without it — and it begins with self-connection and self-awareness.

Ask yourself: What might I do differently if my feelings were just little children that wanted to be heard? What price might I be paying for denying or suppressing their little voices?

Could I simply allow myself to feel my feelings without needing to understand them? Without needing to know why I am feeling what I am feeling, without launching into problem-solving? If nothing else, could I try this out as an experiment, just to see what might transpire?

And here’s a bonus question: What would the mother-archetype do?

The Cancer energy is also connected to family, home (this could be a physical oremotional “home”) — a shift with past issues around feeling “at home”, “safe”  or“nurtured”– both internally and in the world.

Internally, this is about being more rooted in our physical-emotional bodies, and allowing ourselves to explore and celebrate the mother-archetype both within and without — this would be things archetypically “mother-related”, like giving and receiving nurturing, caring for ourselves in terms of our emotional and physical state, and so on.

Ask yourself: Am I rooted in fertile ground? Am I thriving? What else do I need to flourish and grow? What has changed for me in the past 3 years in that regard? How does Self-care show up in my life now vs. then?

The New Moon in Cancer makes a square to Chiron, the Wounded Healer. This aspect asks us to stretch and grow —  challenging us to mend the wounded masculine in ourselves. Chiron is also quite exalted at the time of the New Moon — due to its Station phase, it is slowing down as it gets ready to start its yearly 5-month Retrograde phase, on July 15th. Chiron’s exalted energy makes this aspect more acute.

For more info about Chiron’s Station/Retrograde phase in Aries — and how it all relates to your own birth chart, watch my webinar on the subject. It’s only available until July 23rd, so get it now! ==> Click here for more info or to purchase.

Already a Star Member? Check your email for this webinar. It was sent out on June 25th.

So, let’s talk about this Square to Chiron: on the one hand, we want to connect to what’s familiar and stay in our comfort zones; on the other hand, we are asked to be courageous and heal issues connected to anger, violence, or our sexual identity.

As best as you can, take this as an opportunity to make space for feeling vulnerable or emotional without seeing yourself as weak or “less than”. It is perfectly ok to be yourself, and that may involve feeling insecure once in a while — so give compassion and love to yourself and others. After all, we are all human…

If we can allow the inner masculine (taking action, being assertive, etc.) to protect and co-create with the feminine (allowing for feelings to move through, receiving, etc.), we will go further than we can imagine.

Ask yourself: Where does the wounded masculine cry out for my compassionate awareness (or even my care)? What if I gave it also to those who have not been able to model the masculine energies in an “acceptable” way? What if I extended that even to myself, if and when I fall into that category? Even if I get triggered? What needs your compassion or even your love? What needs to heal?

Remember: Anger can be a reaction to a boundary violation, and/or a cover for another emotion — often fear, sadness, or shame.

What if I give myself permission to make space both for healing around my self-identity (in other words, for recognizing the limitations around my persona), and for taking care of home or family issues?

Do you have your Ascendant (or any personal planets) in 16-20 degrees of Cancer, Capricorn, Aries, or Libra? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

The New Moon is also the best time to set some powerful intentions for this month’s Moon cycle. Intentions are best done soon after the New Moon becomes exact — and definitely not during a Moon void of course phase

So this month, the best time to set intentions would be any time between 9:17pm (July 9th) and 12:10pm on Saturday, July 10th; and then again from 8:21pm (July 10th) until 9:17pm on Sunday, July 11th — please note that all times are given in the Eastern Daylight Timezone — the timezone New York City occupies.

For more info on setting New Moon Intentions click here

If you live in a timezone other than EDT (US East Coast-time), I recommend you join my Facebook Fan-page or follow me on twitter, as I post reminders on July 9th, 10th and 11th to let you know when it is time to set your intentions 😉

Saturday, July 10th:

Saturday, the Moon remains protective, nurturing Cancer until 8:21pm EDT (see Thursday late evening for details).

Saturday at 12:10pm EDT, we enter a Moon VoC that will last for a little over 8 hours, until 8:21pm  EDT. Use this intuitive time to remain flexible and practice self-care — take good care of your emotional and physical body — that way, you’ll remain able to empower yourself and others.

As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Saturday afternoon until the evening ahead of time.

Saturday at 8:21pm EDT, the Moon moves into fun and attention-loving Leo, where it will journey until next week Tuesday early morning (July 13th). We may lack objectivity and struggle with backing down or compromising. We all love to be admired — or at the very least acknowledged — for our greatness 🙂

So hand out some compliments — let people know how proud you are of them, tell them how much you love them. Come from the heart in this and all other things… be honest and authentic, as best you can. Fun, games and romance are a big part of this energy as well. You might also enjoy spending time with little ones.

If there are no “outer children” around, how about getting in touch with your “inner child” — it’s definitely easier for the next two-and-a-half days. What are you most grateful for today? What would be heaps and heaps of fun? What would be so much fun, you let out a tiny squeak, just thinking of it?

Sunday, July 11th:

Sunday, the Moon remains in fun and attention-loving Leo all day (see Saturday evening for details).

Sunday afternoon, at 4:35pm EDT, Mercury moves from curious, quick-witted Gemini into protective, nurturing Cancer. It will journey there  until July 27th. During this cycle, we are more sensitive to our surroundings, especially when listening and taking in information.

We also have more sympathy towards the suffering of others. On the other hand, we have less objectivity, as emotions are always involved in our interactions with others; this could also mean we end up taking things more personally than we really need to — perhaps even to the extent that we start feeling sorry for ourselves. As best as you can, remember to ask yourself: Is this really about me?

This is particularly true if you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini or Virgo. You will feel a stronger need to connect with family or the people in your life that feel familiar and safe. You may also feel the need to talk about the past and work through past conditioning. If you are a Cancer Sun-sign or Rising-sign, you will be more chatty for the next 2.5 weeks.

Sunday early evening, we are being invited to focus on making realistic choices when it comes to connecting with others; do your best to be your most authentic, joyful Self when connecting with like-minded people. (Moon in Leo opposes Saturn in Aquarius, exact at 6:32pm EDT)

Sunday evening, things flow nicely and we feel excited about new healing modalities. There’s an opportunity here to be compassionate toward ourselves and others and for connecting to our inner child. As best as you can, have fun when connecting with others, bring a healing quality to the table by tapping into your inner joy, explore things on a holistic level, and take a risk. (Moon in Leo trines Chiron in Aries, exact at 8:49pm EDT)

Sunday late eveningwe are more aware of two seemingly conflicting desires: on the one hand, a need for innocent fun and playful self-expression — and on the other, an attraction to unusual pleasures, or to breaking free from traditional values. As best as you can, give yourself and others some space, and “let your freak flag fly” — just for a moment — and enjoy it!  (Moon in Leo squares Uranus in Taurus, exact at 11:11pm EDT)

And…

A heads up for next Monday (July 12th): the Moon remains in fun and attention-loving Leo all day (see Saturday evening for details — July 10th). At 8:29am EDT, we enter a Moon VoC that will last for 20 hours, until 4:30am EDT (Tuesday early morning — July 13th). In the afternoon, a harmonious Mercury/Jupiter aspect becomes exact at 3:45pm EDT; we started to feel this aspect build from July 10th on; it will remain strong until July 14th. More about all the details in next week’s forecast 🙂
