Do the Due Diligence
This week’s headline items: Pluto and Saturn remain exalted all week due to their stationing; the first Quarter Moon in Capricorn becomes exact very late on Tuesday evening; on Thursday, Jupiter’s Station in Aquarius intensifies and Mercury begins its Station phase in Libra. Mercury’s Station intensifies on Saturday night/Sunday very early morning. Jupiter comes to a halt, ending it’s 4-month Retrograde phase, on Sunday night.
There will be four Moon VoC phases this week: Monday very early morning (for almost 13 hours); Wednesday morning (for almost 10 hours); Friday morning (for almost 14 hours), and Sunday evening (for 10.5 hours)
Before we get to this week’s forecast, I’d like to mention:
A Conversation about the Mercury Retrograde phase with the lovely Lia Pelusi (a certified Soul-Based Astrologer). We connected last week, chatted about Astrology in general, and got into details on the current Mercury Retrograde in Libra — how it has been impacting us, and where the value lies in a Retrograde phase.

Now, this week’s Forecast…
Monday, October 11th:
Monday, the Moon remains in optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius until 1:15pm EDT. Until then, we’re strongly motivated to explore and learn. We’re not likely to be big fans of routine — diversity and new adventures work best at this time — we’re also physically restless and need to burn that off with activity and physical exercise.
We tend to feel more open, optimistic and inspired — but we also have a high degree of independence — and taking these two influences together, this means we’d rather inspire others to do things our way, as opposed to issuing or obeying orders. Inspiring others could come easier than normal, as we can see the bigger picture, leaving us confident that others will agree with us, once they see what we see.
As best as you can, speak your truth without assuming that everyone is on the same page as you. Improvisation works well for us at this time, as we are spontaneous and love living on the edge — just watch out you aren’t overdoing or overstating things.
Since Pluto and Saturn are still exalted all week, feel free to read more about those Station phases in this blog from Sept. 27th – Oct. 4th, and last week’s blog.

Monday very early morning, at 12:30am EDT, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that lasts for almost 13 hours, until 1:15pm EDT. Use this intuitive time as an opportunity to connect and collaborate with like-minded people, have an adventure, or simply do something that gets you excited about the future.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Monday very early morning until the early afternoon ahead of time.
Monday at 1:15pm EDT, the Moon moves into ambitious, goal-oriented Capricorn, where it will journey until Wednesday late afternoon. We tend to be more realistic, serious, cautious; this can support practical endeavors and financial matters.
Our ambition surges and brings with it a need for structure and planning; when you add in the pragmatism this aspect supports, you can see how this could be a very productive time for business and long-term goals. Our reputation becomes very important to us.
As best as you can during this aspect, avoid “should-ing” on yourself. Take the pressure off, perhaps by saying “I am doing the best I can and that’s all I can ever do” 😉
Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn — and it is transiting through Aquarius making this a great time to take a look at our visions for humanity, and at anything we would like to accomplish long-term within our communities (locally or online).
It’s also a great time to take a more serious look at our various networks and connections to like-minded people; as best as you can, be authentic about your affiliations: Do they truly resonate with your personal vision for the future — as it stands now, rather than what it was 5 or 10 years ago?
Does participation in those groups or networks align with who you are now, and with where you see yourself 5 years from now? What do you truly want to commit yourself to? This Moon placement starts the build up towards…

This Moon placement starts the build up towards the first Quarter Moon (exact Tuesday very late evening).
Tuesday, Oct. 12th:
Tuesday, the Moon remains in ambitious, goal-oriented Capricorn all day (see Monday early afternoon for details).
Tuesday very early morning, a somewhat challenging Mercury/Uranus aspect becomes exact at 1:29am EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Monday very early morning on; and it will remain strong until Wednesday very early morning. This aspect operates more on an internal level. We feel uneasy about something, almost awkward — and we need to make a choice. An inner awareness needs to be developed if we’re to see what needs adjusting.
It could be hard to make decisions under this influence, as we tend to doubt our perceptions or our problem-solving ability. It may also be hard to read the intention behind the words used to communicate, leading to misunderstandings: we tend to feel uncomfortable — a sort of “inner itchiness”.
As best you can, give yourself time to respond, allow your breath to ground you — and empower yourself and others by coming from love rather than fear — after all, at this moment (if you stay out of memory and away from concepts and imaginary futures), aren’t you actually ok?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 13-15 degrees of Libra or Taurus? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo, or Sagittarius (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Jupiter of Sagittarius).
Tuesday very late evening, at 11:25pm EDT, the first Quarter Moon in 20º of Capricorn becomes exact. We started to feel this aspect from the moment the Moon entered Capricorn, on Monday afternoon. The Moon in practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn makes a challenging aspect to the Sun in balance-seeking, relationship-oriented Libra.
We feel compelled to take action. Last week, on Oct. 6th, the New Moon in Libra became exact: “Seeds” planted then are probably “sprouting” by now — and making their first real contact with the outside world. This is therefore a time to stretch and grow — and create some forward momentum. We may feel anxious or unusually busy.
As best as you can, go one breath at a time. Allow for changes, remain flexible (as much as possible), and find creative solutions for your day-to-day interactions with others.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 18-22 degrees of Capricorn, Libra, Aries or Cancer? If so, you will feel the effects of this first Quarter Moon more strongly than otherwise. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).
Wednesday, Oct. 13th:
Wednesday, the Moon remains in ambitious, goal-oriented Capricorn until 4:47pm EDT (see Monday early afternoon for details).
Wednesday morning, at 6:53am EDT, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that lasts for almost 10 hours, until 4:47pm EDT. Use this intuitive time to focus on long-term successes. We might get a little obsessed with a project or task — as best as you can, take breaks and don’t forget to practice a little self-care 😉
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Wednesday morning until late afternoon ahead of time.
Wednesday late afternoon, an opportune Venus/Saturn aspect becomes exact at 3:26pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Monday evening on; and it will remain strong until Friday evening. This aspect gives us the opportunity to bring a sense of realism to our relationships, our values and financial affairs: We are more able to get to the bottom of what needs to be dealt with in those areas and take responsibility for how we are handling things.
On a financial level, we have an opportunity to see more clearly when and how we might make long-term investments. There’s no need to rush anything; think it through carefully and responsibly — do the “due diligence”. Remember: an opportunity is not automatically given to us, we have to “take” it.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 5-9 degrees of Sagittarius, Aquarius, Aries or Libra? If so, you will be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Capricorn (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn).
Wednesday, at 4:47pm EDT, the Moon moves into freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius, where it will journey until Friday late evening. The energy of the Aquarian Moon relates to our instinct for improvement. Reactions are more intellectual than emotional; interactions more impersonal than personal. We are likely to have an increased fascination with the new and unusual.
Social gatherings, anything connected with group ideals and goals for the future, brainstorming, new ideas and methods, progress: all these are promoted during the time the Moon moves through Aquarius. Again: we have our eyes on the future — or on outer space 🙂 Personal freedom becomes paramount.
Wednesday late evening, a somewhat challenging Sun/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 11:32pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Tuesday late evening on; and it will remain strong until Thursday late evening. This aspect feels “internal” — inner unease and awkwardness — and we need to make a choice. Given that it is an internal issue, we need to develop an inner awareness, if we’re to see what needs adjusting.
Our energy tends to be unrealistically directed — and our sense of self may actually change as we learn that we have wrongly assessed important situations. Our self-trust takes a hit.
Due to our high ideals, we may take on more than we can physically handle — if we start to feel drained or frustrated, it might be helpful to look at the overall direction we are taking. Do your best to rest and have quiet time alongside your interactions with others.
It is also worthwhile to look for how our ideas are being received by others: Can we involve them in creating/realizing our dreams? Perhaps we are not sure whether we want to keep dreaming our dream privately, or share it with others… As best as you can, slow down: where there is spaciousness, there is flow; where there is flow, there is effortless creation.
Do you have your Career Point (or personal planets) in 20-22 degrees of Libra or Pisces? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Pisces (the Sun rules of Leo; Neptune rules Pisces)
Thursday, Oct. 14th:
Thursday, the Moon remains in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius all day (see Wednesday late afternoon for details).
The Jupiter Station intensifies today (Thursday), as it is preparing to come to a halt next week, Saturday (after having been retrograde for the past 4 months). This intensified station will last until Oct. 21st.
Jupiter represents our desire to seek insight through knowledge. Some of this planet’s keywords: morality; gratitude; hope; honor; the law. Jupiter is also the planet of possibility, optimism, wisdom, understanding and growth (including mental and spiritual growth). It is also associated with our sense of humor, generosity, tolerance, goodwill, and mercy.
We have been connecting internally to our wisdom and ability to grow for the past four months. What did you discover about your ability to learn and grow since June 20th? Do you have a better understanding of your own inner wisdom and how to access it? How could those discoveries change how you interact with your various networks?
Those of us who have any of our personal planets (or our Ascendant) in 20-25 degrees of Aquarius, Leo, Taurus or Scorpio will be more affected by this Jupiter station. This is also true for those of us with their Ascendant or Sun-sign in Sagittarius (Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius, so those folks will always be affected more strongly by Jupiter’s movements and aspects).
Also, on Thursday, Mercury starts to slow down again (“stationing”). As Jupiter, Mercury is also getting ready to come to a halt — ending its 3-week Retrograde phase, on Monday of next week, on Oct. 18th (more on that next week…). The Station phase will last until Oct. 23rd in 10-11 degrees of Libra.
For the next 9 days (until Oct. 23rd), we need to be patient with ourselves and others — especially if there is a connection with communication or transportation, and their associated technologies. This is not the best time to start anything brand-new, especially if it contains new information that needs to be processed.
Our inner monologue gains in intensity where the following are concerned: the relationship between our personal masculine and feminine, the amount of approval we seek from others or from ourselves, our ability to create balance in our lives, and around “just” or fair collaborations with others.
We are invited to hang out with any discomfort that we might feel around self-value and/or our one-on-one relationships.
We might experience delays or misunderstandings, and things tend to feel “off” or stagnant. It might be a good idea to give yourself some extra time to get ready for travel somewhere — especially if you intend to use public transportation or drive (For more details on Mercury Shadow Phases and Retrogrades, click here)
Feel free to watch my chat with Lia about the Mercury Retrograde phase in Libra: We connected last week and chatted about how this has been impacting us and what the value is of a Retrograde phase…
Some of us will feel the effects of the Mercury station more than others: those of us who have Gemini or Virgo as our Sun- or Rising-Sign (Ascendant); and those of us with personal planets in 8-13 degrees of Libra, Aries, Cancer or Capricorn.
Friday, Oct. 15th:
Friday, the Moon remains in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius until 10:22pm EDT (see Wednesday late afternoon for details).
Friday morning, a harmonious Sun/Jupiter aspect becomes exact at 7:46am EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Tuesday morning on; and it will remain strong until next week, Monday evening (Oct. 18th). This is an opportunity to see things from a different perspective. What will lead us to this new vantage point?
Optimism, an open mind, an open heart: Follow your enthusiasm as if it were a wilderness guide — and as best as you can, let yourself be creative and free. Allow for different points of view to co-exist, embrace yourself as a social being, and remember: without a sense of community or relationships, we cannot thrive as humans.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 20-22 degrees of Libra, Aquarius or Gemini? If so, you will feel this aspect quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Sagittarius (the Sun rules Leo; Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius).
Also on Friday morning, at 8:33am EDT, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that lasts for almost 14 hours, until 10:22pm EDT. Use this intuitive time to feel a flow and support towards socializing and connecting with others. Great ideas and concepts can be collaborated on right now.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Friday morning until late evening ahead of time.
Friday at 10:22pm EDT, the Moon moves into creative, sensitive Pisces, where it will journey until next week, Monday morning (Oct. 18th). This Moon placement often finds us more sensitive, intuitive, idealistic and imaginative than normal. We also have a greater capacity for compassion, sympathy, and affection for all — but especially for those who suffer or can be regarded as the underdog.
But… that very idealism could also be our downfall at this time: We tend to see the best in everyone and everything, and when reality doesn’t match our idyllic vision, we might feel upset and even victimized by those harsh realities. A way out of this is to channel our idealism into spiritual or creative endeavors.
It’s also a great time for releasing fears — especially the ones based on a sense of separation — and experiencing “oneness”. Feelings tend to flow more freely; as best as you can, let them — in fact, “going with the flow” is the best way to go for the next couple of days.
Saturday, Oct. 16th:
Saturday, the Moon remains in creative, sensitive Pisces all day (see Friday late evening for details).
Saturday afternoon, a harmonious Venus/Chiron aspect becomes exact at 2:49pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Wednesday evening on; and it will remain strong until next week, Tuesday morning (Oct. 19th). This brings the ability for compassion and understanding towards others. We also get a chance to engage in a humorous way about our own flaws and insecurities.
We are more willing to be vulnerable, as we trust that the other person has our best interest at heart. This could create an opening to heal some wounds from the past. We also more easily allow for our own humanity and limitations as we relate to others and are more forgiving towards them and ourselves. How does this show up for you?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 7-13 degree of Sagittarius, Aries, or Leo? If so, you are more blessed by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus or Libra (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra).
Saturday evening, a somewhat challenging Mars/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 8:32pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Friday evening on; and it will remain strong until Sunday evening. Our idealism and high expectations could lead us into frustrating circumstances that leave us emotionally and physically drained. Our vitality and emotional resilience increase as we learn how (and where) to get involved in projects we feel passionate about.
That said, we may also have difficulty establishing realistic limits with others and around our own self-expectations; this, combined with a tendency to laziness (especially where exercising good judgment is concerned) could leave us feeling “rudderless” or even overwhelmed. As best as you can therefore, allow for downtime, rest and spiritual connection.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 20-22 degrees of Libra or Pisces? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries or Pisces (Mars is the ruler of Aries; Neptune rules Pisces)
Also, on Saturday evening, an opportune Mercury/Venus aspect becomes exact at 9:24pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Friday morning on; and it will remain strong until next week, Monday late evening (Oct. 18th). This aspect gives us the opportunity for more enthusiastic and collaborative connections with others.
Through enhanced communication, we have a chance to clear up any misunderstandings. Promises and clarifications may grow from this, particularly in love relationships; it is also an opportune time to make new social contacts, especially with people who share our philosophies about life. Remember: this is an “opportunity” — those aren’t necessarily handed to us, we have to actively take advantage of them.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 8-13 degrees of Libra, Sagittarius, Leo or Aquarius. If so, you will feel this aspect quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Virgo, Gemini, Libra or Taurus (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra).
Sunday, Oct. 17th:
Sunday, the Moon remains in creative, sensitive Pisces all day (see Friday late evening for details).
Saturday night/Sunday very early morning, Mercury’s Station intensifies, as Mercury is preparing to come to halt tomorrow, Monday (ending its 3-week Retrograde phase). As I mentioned on Thursday already, during the Station phase, we feel Mercury’s energies more strongly. It will remain at its most intensified until Oct. 21st in 10 degrees of Libra.
Pay attention to anything “in your face” in any of the following areas: relationships, collaborations, communications, short travels, transportation of any kind, communication devices. You will get a chance to make adjustments once Mercury is moving direct again (to be more precise, during the Shadow phase that follows).
Here are some questions you could ask yourself during the Mercury Station phase: Do I experience any discomfort around my one-on-one relationships? Am I debating whether or not there is enough balance in my life? What is my preferred energy to connect with: masculine or feminine? What might I be able to achieve if I had a better balance between the two? Might I have more peace within? And with others?
For the next 5 days, we might experience delays or misunderstandings; things could feel “off” or stagnant. It might be a good idea to give yourself some extra time when getting ready to go somewhere — and that goes for the journey itself, too — especially if you intend to drive or use public transportation. Going with the flow is definitely recommended at this time.
Be extra-patient if you intend to buy, sell or ship big-ticket items, especially if they are transportation or communication devices like anything connected with planes, trains, cars, phones, computers, iPads, etc. Best of all (if possible): wait until after Nov. 2nd when the post-Shadow phase is over.
Feel free to watch my chat with Lia about the Mercury Retrograde phase in Libra. We connected last week and chatted about how this has been impacting us, and about the value of a Retrograde phase…
Some of us will feel the effects of the Mercury station more than others: those of us who have Gemini or Virgo as our Sun- or Rising-Sign (Ascendant); and those of us with personal planets in 8-12 degrees of Libra, Aries, Cancer or Capricorn.
Sunday morning, a challenging Sun/Pluto aspect becomes exact at 8:12am EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Thursday morning on; and it will remain strong until next week, Wednesday morning (Oct. 20th). What we identify ourselves with could now be challenged. This aspect forces us to confront our will, power, assertion, and authority.
Coming into focus now: the relationship with a father- or other important male-figures. We may face the need to be more independent, assertive, and autonomous.
We may alienate others with a controlling, jealous, or overbearing manner. This manner stems from a deep fear of letting go and surrendering to the idea that some things cannot be directed or controlled. We are learning to detach from (let go of) something or someone that no longer serves us — the “something” could include attitudes.
This fear may lead us to compulsive, suspicious, or difficult behavior, costing us the very thing that we hold dear. As best as you can, open yourself up to the power of love within. When you do, you will discover your own strength, and rework your very identity. Perhaps most importantly, this aspect puts us face to face with exactly what’s been holding us back from leading a fuller, more meaningful life.
We may have to make some changes or adjustments with our long-term goals or within our relationships. As best as you can, be open to receiving feedback from others during this time.
If you feel pressured into doing something or you feel a power struggle build, as best as you can, get centered, get grounded and use your creativity to find win/win situations. This aspect is a major growth opportunity for us: we struggle with buried elements of our personality and ego, learning to face, accept and transform them.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 21-28 degrees of Libra, Capricorn, Aries or Cancer? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Scorpio (the Sun is the ruler of Leo; Pluto rules Scorpio).
Sunday evening, at 7:24pm EDT, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that lasts for 10.5 hours, until 6:04am EDT (Monday morning – Oct.18th). Use this intuitive time as an opportunity to be guided by inspiration, and fully commit to a project or task that might serve you long-term. As best as you can, listen and trust the subtle messages in your heart, that stir you towards success.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Sunday evening until Monday morning ahead of time.
Sunday night/Monday very early morning at 1:30am EDT, Jupiter comes to a halt at 22º of Aquarius, and slowly starts to move direct again, after a 4-month Retrograde phase; as mentioned earlier this week (on Thursday), Jupiter’s energy will be felt most strongly at this time.
The Jupiter retrograde gave us a chance to tap our inner wisdom, optimism and sense of possibility. It was a chance to learn more about how the world works from our inner understanding. We got to choose our “true beliefs”, especially in regards to our various communities and affiliations (in-person and online), and our sense of belonging — and learned which beliefs serve us, and which don’t.
This process of internal connection to our wisdom and ability to grow has been underway for the past four months (since June 20th). As Jupiter slowly starts to pick up speed again, it will return our focus to the outside world — a process that will be completed by Oct. 24th.
Where would you look for your inner wisdom? If your inner guru had a voice and could speak, what might it say?
Those of us who have any of our personal planets (or our Ascendant) in 20-24 degrees of Aquarius, Leo, Taurus or Scorpio will be more affected by this Jupiter station. This is also true for those of us with their Ascendant or Sun-sign in Sagittarius (Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius, so those folks will always be affected more strongly by Jupiter’s movements and aspects).
And…
A heads up for next Monday (Oct. 18th): the Moon remains in creative, sensitive Pisces and VoC until 6:04am EDT. At that time, the Moon moves into pioneering, fast-paced Aries until Wednesday afternoon (Oct. 20th); Jupiter comes to halt, ending its 4-months Retrograde phase, in the very early morning (see Sunday night for details); Mercury follows suit, also ending its Retrograde phase, and entering its post-Shadow phase, in the late morning. Lastly, a harmonious Mars/Jupiter aspect becomes exact at 10:36pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Thursday evening on; and it will remain strong until next week, Saturday evening (Oct. 23rd). More about all the details in next week’s forecast : )
