The Ability to Create Balance
This week’s headline items: Very early on Monday, Mercury begins its 3-week Retrograde phase; the last Quarter Moon in Cancer becomes exact on Tuesday late evening; Pluto’s station intensifies from Wednesday on. Finally, on Saturday, Mercury ends its Station phase (although it remains retrograde), and the Balsamic Moon phase begins that evening.
There will be three Moon VoC phases this week: Monday night/Tuesday very early morning (for a little over 9 hours); Thursday late morning (for 10 hours); and Saturday evening (for almost 9 hours).
Before we get to this week’s forecast, I’d like to mention:
I was invited to be on the Self Love Show with Dawn Light and Trish Wright. I had a fantastic time. Check it out: How Astrology can help us love ourselves more, and how we can deepen that love.
“The birth chart is a marvelous thing. It shows us our life’s potential and how we operate in all areas of our lives. Understanding those energies can bring a greater sense of acceptance and love to ourselves. Self-love is a journey, and understanding our own birth chart is just the first step on that journey.”

Now, this week’s Forecast…
Monday, September 27th:
Monday, the Moon remains in chatty, versatile Gemini all day. It will journey there until Tuesday late morning. Until then, we like to learn, connect and interact as much as possible. “Busy” feels good: connecting online, on the phone, or sharing face-to-face, preferably multi-tasking all the way…
The one thing we can do without is boredom: If our mind is not engaged in some way, we might as well curl up and play dead 🙂
Monday very early morning at 1:10amEDT, Mercury comes to a standstill at 25.5 degrees of Libra (starting its 3-week Retrograde phase), slowing things down tremendously until Wednesday morning (Sept. 29th). Give yourself extra time to go to work (during that time) or to get things done. If you are traveling, just simply go with the flow… you’ll get there… eventually 😉 The same is true when it comes to all our technological communication devices…
With Mercury being Retrograde, its energy feels stronger inside of us, helping us recognize what is out of alignment, and pointing to how we can start to realign ourselves with the outside world, starting from within. We can ask ourselves: What feels unjust or imbalanced in my life?
Because of its retrograde status, Mercury will spend 66 days in Libra, the sign most concerned with one-on-one relationships, partnerships, balance, harmony, justice, collaboration, and art. This provides extra opportunities to connect from a place of harmony, peace, diplomacy, with a view to creating win/win outcomes.
We already talked about this, in great detail, in last week’s blog. If you are currently a Member, click here and scroll down to Sunday (Sept. 26th) to read the whole post about this Mercury Retrograde phase, or look for your Daily Forecast email for Sunday, Sept. 26th.
Another thing to take into consideration: how does each Mercury Retrograde phase affect your personal birth chart. Do you have any personal planets that Mercury will align with during its retrograde journey? The houses of your chart each represent different areas of your life — which of the houses in your chart is affected by this retrograde?
As with any retrograde, some of us will be more affected than others, depending on how it interacts with our personal chart. If you have your Ascendant, Career Point or any personal planets in: 8-28 degrees of Libra, Aries, Cancer or Capricorn you will be more affected by this particular retrograde. This is also true for those of us who have a Gemini, or Virgo Sun- or Rising-sign (Mercury rules Gemini and Virgo).
Monday late morning/early afternoon, we are asked to turn our attention towards the mismatch between our need for mental stimulation, and our desire to connect on a deep emotional level. Ask yourself: Am I after superficial exchanges? Or intense and authentic emotion?
Am I seeking out new information and keeping an open mind? Am I wanting to keep my mind busy with mental distractions — such as listening to the news or reading about other peoples’ opinions? Do I feel nudged toward emotionally deep transformative connections? What are my motivations when connecting and relating to others?
No matter what I engage in, could I drop any self-judgment? Could I even allow myself to dance with those mismatched energies? (Moon in Gemini quincunxes Venus in Scorpio, exact at 11:28am EDT)
Monday late afternoon, we are required to make some adjustments — and we may need to do a little stretching and growing, when it comes to our inner or emotional experiences. As best as you can, be gentle with yourself and others, seek to understand before seeking to be understood.(Moon in Gemini squares Neptune in Pisces, exact at 4:11pm EDT)
Monday evening, we get a chance to connect with like-minded people, expand each other’s minds, and share information that allows us to see the bigger picture.(Moon in Gemini trines Jupiter in Aquarius, exact at 7:25pm EDT)
Monday night/Tuesday very early morning at 12:18am EDT, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that lasts for a little over 9 hours, until 9:34am EDT (Tuesday late morning). Use this intuitive time to connect with others one-on-one, and share information in a peaceful and fair fashion.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan…

You may also want to plan Monday night until Tuesday late morning ahead of time.
Tuesday, Sept. 28th:
Tuesday, the Moon remains in chatty, versatile Gemini and VoC until 9:34am EDT (see Monday for details). At that time, the Moon moves into protective, nurturing Cancer, where it will journey until Thursday evening.
With this Moon placement, we are more sensitive to what people say and therefore our feelings are more easily hurt — so be kind to yourself and others. Self-Care is key for the next two days 😉
Emotional safety is important to us as well; we like connecting to the familiar and we enjoy nurturing ourselves and others — home and family call to us, for instance. Make sure though, that your glass is filled before letting others drink from it, otherwise you might start to feel drained and resentful.
Tuesday evening, at 9:57pm EDT, the last Quarter Moon becomes exact in 6º of Cancer. We started to feel this aspect build from the moment the Moon entered Cancer this morning. The Moon in protective, nurturing Cancer makes a challenging aspect to the Sun harmony-oriented, idealistic Libra. This may bring challenges; however, it also energizes us to face what demands completion or change.
This Moon phase brings us closer to Oct. 6th, which will bring the New Moon in Libra. During the last Quarter Moon, we are better served by reviewing existing projects, rather than launching new ones. Out of those projects, what is asking to be completed? What needs last-minute adjustments? What did you discover over the past three weeks? What did it mean for you?
As best as you can, find creative solutions for anything that comes up, whether it’s internal or with others.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 4-8 degrees of Cancer, Libra, Capricorn or Aries? If so, you will feel this month’s last Quarter Moon quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer, since the Sun rules Leo and the Moon rules Cancer.
Wednesday, Sept. 29th:
Wednesday, the Moon remains in protective, nurturing Cancer all day (see Tuesday morning for details).
Wednesday early afternoon, a harmonious Venus/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 12:14pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from last week Sunday evening (Sept. 26th) on; and it will remain strong until this Friday evening. This supports us with the flow of feelings, especially in connection to our relationships and whatever we most value.
Bringing compassion to our deepest feelings (including fears) and how we relate to others is going to feel easier at this time.
Our intuition and instincts are strongly supported here too. It becomes easier to trust others and open up to them; we give ourselves permission to receive love and emotional support. As best as you can, let all feelings flow.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 18-25 degrees of Scorpio, Pisces or Cancer? If so, you will be most blessed by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Pisces (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Neptune rules Pisces).
Wednesday evening, a harmonious Sun/Saturn aspect becomes exact at 6:19pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Sunday evening (Sept. 26th) on; and it will remain strong until this Saturday evening. Commitment and discipline are the keys to understanding our heart’s desire and our intellectual needs right now. We face life on life’s terms and feel up to doing so (especially when it comes to our creative self-expression).
Ask yourself: What could I achieve if I bought 5% more authentic and balanced self-expression to my long-term plans?
We can also bring a more mature approach to exploring our “inner balance”. How might a supportive “inner parent” help your “inner balance”?
How might taking a realistic and practical approach to our one-on-one relationships serve our long-term vision for humanity? What if we applied that same approach to our own experience of inner balance and harmony?
How could we contribute to our various communities (online and off) in a realistic way? Who could we collaborate with to bring concrete, long-term benefit to others?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 4-10 degrees of Libra, Aquarius, or Gemini? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Capricorn (the Sun rules Leo; Saturn rules Capricorn).
Also, on Wednesday, Pluto’s Station intensifies until Oct. 15th. As I mentioned on Sept.19th, when an outer planet stations, its energy gets more pronounced; this becomes even more pronounced when its Station phase intensifies.
Pluto will come to a halt next week Wednesday (on Oct. 6th), ending it’s 5-months Retrograde phase, in 24 degrees of Capricorn (more on that in next week’s blog).
With a Station phase, especially when it intensifies, we become even more aware of Pluto’s impact on us — and this can sometimes cause discomfort. We are being asked to hang out with that discomfort until the planet’s energy has picked up speed again (around Oct. 21st).
As best as you can, take a closer look at whatever is “in your face” for the next 3 weeks. Look for what might no longer be in alignment with your Soul’s purpose (your deep, authentic, emotional Self) — especially in relation to long-term goals and your standing in society.
Ask yourself: Where am I holding on, out of fear? What habits, behaviors, or fears are holding me back from feeling fully empowered from within? What would it look like, if I was fully aligned with my Soul-purpose? How would it feel? When we confront our fears we very often discover hidden gifts and strengths.

“Sonja, any words I can find to express my gratitude for the insight you’ve given to me during the webinar would be an understatement; in equation form it would look like (My gratitude=Thank you^n)–Thank you to the n-th degree!” — Michaele D.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 22-26 degrees of Capricorn, Cancer, Aries, or Libra? If so, you will feel this Station phase more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Scorpio (Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio).
Thursday, Sept. 30th:
Thursday, the Moon remains in protective, nurturing Cancer until 8:53pm EDT (see Tuesday morning for details).
Thursday at 10:49am EDT, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that lasts for 10 hours, until 8:53pm EDT. Use this intuitive time to make adjustments and find creative solutions to seemingly insoluble situations. Make space both for fair communication and collaboration, and for taking care of any emotional or family issues.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Thursday late morning until late evening ahead of time.
Thursday evening, a challenging Venus/Jupiter aspect becomes exact at 7:31pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Tuesday morning on; and it will remain strong until Sunday morning. This aspect asks that we question our most fundamental beliefs and conditioning around our visions for humanity (and the people that share those visions).
We are also invited to investigate how we view our intimate relationships. When it comes to financial, sexual, and emotional relationships, the investigation is aimed at our personal relationship to becoming whole or more fully empowered.
We have the opportunity here to grow beyond our understanding of what our values get us. Issues connected to love, relationships, and whatever is most valuable to us, can seem overwhelming at this time. This is because we have a tendency to overindulge or over-promise.
We mean well, because we are feeling quite optimistic at this time — but we may underestimate how much time we actually have, or how good a fit something actually is.
Overspending could be connected to this aspect as well, as could making assumptions in our various communities or networks; as best as you can, bring a non-judgmental awareness to any such tendencies.
What are you observing about yourself and your collaborations with others? What is enough… and what is too much?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 20-26 degrees of Scorpio, Aquarius, Leo or Taurus? If so, you will feel this aspect quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Sagittarius (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius).
Thursday, at 8:53pm EDT, the Moon moves into fun and attention-loving Leo, where it will journey until Sunday early morning. We may lack objectivity and struggle with backing down or compromising. We all love to be admired — or at the very least acknowledged — for our greatness 🙂
So hand out some compliments — let people know how proud you are of them, tell them how much you love them. Come from the heart in this and all other things… be honest and authentic, as best you can. Fun, games and romance are a big part of this energy as well. You might also enjoy spending time with little ones.
If there are no “outer children” around, how about getting in touch with your “inner child” — it’s definitely easier for the next two days. What are you most grateful for today? What would be heaps and heaps of fun? What would be so much fun, you let out a tiny squeak, just thinking of it?
Friday, Oct. 1st:
Friday, the Moon remains in fun and attention-loving Leo all day (see Thursday evening for details).
Friday morning, a Mars/Chiron opposition becomes exact at 9am EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from last week Sunday evening (Sept. 26th) on; and it will remain strong until next week, Tuesday evening (Oct. 5th). We might feel irritated when faced with other people’s plans — but also insecure about our own direction.
We may find ourselves caught between two forces within: on the one hand, there’s wanting to connect and collaborate with others to move forward on things we are passionate about; on the other, there’s looking for a way to be kind and compassionate with ourselves, in the event we need to do some healing around our physical body or personal goals. This aspect calls us to find a balance between those two forces.
Oppositions can be acted out within relationships; given this, we may get triggered by others and become defensive or touchy. Resentments or frustrations can surface now — and someone may be poking at our wounds or pointing out our shortcomings — bringing up our insecurities or secret shame.
This may cause us to spin into anger, impatience, or frustration that is connected not only to what is happening at that moment but also to our past — especially our childhood.
If this happens, as best as you can, locate the original pain or wound — and bring compassion, love, understanding and forgiveness to yourself (and towards your younger Self). Healing can only take place if we are willing to embrace our “flaws” and love our most vulnerable places.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 8-14 degrees of Libra, Aries, Cancer, or Capricorn? If so, you will be more affected by this opposition. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries (Mars is the ruler of Aries)
Friday late morning, a challenging Mercury/Pluto aspect becomes exact at 10:26am EDT. Due to Mercury’s and Pluto’s current Station phases, we already started to feel this aspect build from Sept. 17th on; and it will remain strong until next week, Tuesday evening (Oct. 5th).
Due to Mercury’s Retrograde motion, this is the second time in 9 days that this aspect has become exact — the first time was on Sept. 22nd (the day of the Fall Equinox).
Think back to that day and ask yourself: What did I notice in my communications with others? Did I overpower others with my sharing? Did I feel disempowered by other people’s sharing? What conclusions did I reach?
This Mercury/Pluto aspect could create some tension in our lives. We may feel anxious or stressed by one or more situations or interactions to do with one-on-one relationships.
We are being invited to grow and make some changes in our lives, particularly in terms of our thinking processes. We are being asked to find creative solutions and be completely honest with ourselves and others. The best way to achieve this is by the continual practice of self-care and self-nurturing.
We have tremendous focus and drive right now, which can tip into obsession. With this aspect an all-or-nothing attitude is very likely. Choose love over fear whenever possible. Not many people enjoy being second-guessed all the time, yet that is something that we are inclined to do now.
However, our determination to get to the bottom of any matter, to rip away falsehoods and expose true motives, can be used for good if we employ it in our work, for example, in regards to investigations or research. This is an opportunity to learn to harness our intense mental energy and apply it productively. We are also capable of very hard work, focus and effort now.
We have a great love of debate, but we might want to be careful that we don’t overpower others with our strong opinions, attempting to “convert” them to our frame of mind, or treat regular exchanges of opinion as battlegrounds. Connect to others, empowering them with what you feel passionate about. Choose your words carefully, from a deeply connected and empowered place.
Ask yourself: How can I empower myself and others 5% more today? How might an increase of Self-care support this desire for empowered conversations and connections? What needs to be said? What doesn’t?
If I observe an “all-or-nothing” attitude in myself, could I give myself permission to relax into the “love-energy” that always resides inside of me? Could I acknowledge first, and then release, any fears or concerns connected to achievements or relationships?
Also, feel free to also watch my “Additional Support”-video on the subject!
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in degrees of 21-28 degrees of Libra, Capricorn, Aries or Cancer? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Scorpio (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Pluto rules Scorpio)
Saturday, Oct. 2nd:
Saturday, the Moon remains in fun and attention-loving Leo all day (see Thursday evening for details).
Saturday very early morning, an opportune Venus/Pluto aspect becomes exact at 3:48am EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Wednesday evening on; and it will remain strong until next week, Monday evening (Oct. 4th). This aspect brings an opportunity for new insights into relationships and love. There is a chance for strong physical attractions.
This could be a powerful and uplifting time for our romantic relationships — and for our pocketbooks. We have the opportunity to build something long-term, authentic, and empowering.
Remember: this is an “opportunity” — opportunities aren’t necessarily handed to us, we have to make them happen.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (MC) or any personal planets in 22-26 degrees of Scorpio, Capricorn, Pisces or Virgo? If so, you may be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Scorpio (Venus rules Taurus and Libra; Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio).
Saturday evening, around 7pm EDT, the Balsamic Moon phase begins, when the Moon reaches 25º of Leo. This phase lasts until next week, Wednesday morning when the New Moon in Libra becomes exact (more on that next week… however, feel free to watch my New Moon video now — click here. (available to watch by Oct. 1st, the latest)
Until Oct. 6th, we are being asked to slow down and get quiet, so we can listen to our intuition. For some of us, this might be a stretch. As best as you can: stay grounded, take a deep breath and exhale any tensions.
Rather than starting something brand-new, put all that energy into completing existing projects. This is also a great time for letting go of whatever no longer serves us. What if you could hear the voice of your inner wisdom? What might it be saying?
Saturday evening, at 7:43pm EDT, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that lasts for almost 9 hours, until 4:38am EDT (Sunday early morning). Use this intuitive time to make some adjustments in your life. Make space for creative, joyful self-expression, and for emotional connections with others on a deep, authentic (even intimate) level. As best as you can, get creative!
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Saturday evening until Sunday early morning ahead of time.
Also, on Saturday, Mercury ends its station and gets back to its normal pace through the sky — but moving backward through the sky, as seen from Earth (that’s what “retrograde” refers to). We have a chance to do some internal work on any thinking and/or communication issues that came up over the last couple of weeks in connection with our one-on-one relationships, and our ability to lead a balanced life.
Sunday, Oct. 3rd:
Sunday, the Moon remains in fun and attention-loving Leo and VoC until 4:38am EDT (see Thursday evening & Saturday evening for details). At that time, the Moon moves into detail-oriented, practical Virgo, where it will journey until next week, Tuesday morning; turning our focus toward the practical and wholesome.
We are generous with our time/services and we love to help others. We also have a fondness for science and anything that makes sense in our world — things and knowledge we can apply and use.
Health might also come into focus at this time. We notice the parts that make up the whole; this is a great time to see if our daily routines (eating, work, self-care, etc.) align with our long-term goals.
Sunday late morning, a Sun/Chiron opposition becomes exact at 11:51am EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Thursday evening on; and it will remain strong until next week, Wednesday morning (Oct. 6th). This aspect asks us to create a balance between two poles: on the one hand, our ability to create harmonious connections while remaining aware of an inner and outer balance — and on the other, being able to bring compassion and understanding to our insecurities and what we actively identify with.
Our confidence might not be at its strongest at this time. Oppositions can be acted out within relationships: one person embodies one of the energies, while the other person “holds” the energy of the other pole. When this happens, we sometimes experience the opposition as something that the other person is triggering in us.
In the case of this particular opposition, it may be someone poking at our wounds, or pointing out our shortcomings — which brings up our insecurities or secret shame.
Healing can only take place if we are willing to embrace our sensitivities and love our most vulnerable places.
Blaming, shaming, attacking and justifying will not heal us faster — it will cause more pain and suffering, within us and around us. How quickly would you like to heal?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in degrees of 7-14 degrees of Libra, Aries, Cancer, or Capricorn? If so, you will feel this opposition quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo (the Sun rules Leo).
Sunday evening, a harmonious Mercury/Jupiter aspect becomes exact at 8:05pm EDT. Due to Mercury’s current Station phase, we already started to feel this aspect build from Sept 16th on; and it will remain strong until next week, Wednesday evening (Oct. 6th).
Mercury’s Retrograde motion means this is the second time in a 13-day period that this aspect has become exact. The first time was on Sept. 20th (the day of the Full Moon in Pisces).
Think back to that day and ask yourself: What did I notice in my communications with others? Did I feel an increase in my interactions with others or my communities (both in-person or online)?
With a Mercury/Jupiter aspect, we are more optimistic — which is good, since we see the bigger picture, communicate more positively and readily inspire others.
This harmonious connection strengthens our ability to connect and collaborate with others. We are tolerant of other perspectives and ideas, naturally avoid narrow-minded thinking, and feel at ease reconnecting with people from all walks of life. We might be drawn to exploring foreign languages, cultures, and countries.
This aspect also makes for quite a “heady” and idealistic experience — it’s all about thinking big and innovating. So, ask yourself: What are my expectations or attitudes towards the collective experience? What new vantage point might show me how to reinvent myself and my vision for “my people”?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 19-26 degrees of Libra, Aquarius, or Gemini,? If so, you will feel most blessed by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Sagittarius (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Jupiter of Sagittarius).
And…
A heads up for next Monday (Oct. 4th): the Moon remains in detail-oriented, practical Virgo all day (see Sunday early morning for details). In the early morning, the Moon trines Uranus in Taurus, exact at 5:19am EDT; in the early evening, the Moon opposes Neptune in Pisces, exact at 5:48pm EDT; later that evening, the Moon quincunxes Jupiter in Aquarius, exact at 8:10pm EDT, and trines Pluto in Capricorn, exact at 11:03pm EDT. Finally, also on Monday, Saturn starts to slow down (station), ready to end its 4.5 months Retrograde phase. More about all the details in next week’s forecast : )
