Shake Things Up a Little
This week’s headline items: Pluto is still stationing all week; the Full Moon in Pisces becomes exact on Monday evening; Mercury’s station intensifies on Tuesday; on Wednesday afternoon, the Sun changes signs from Virgo to Libra, marking the Fall Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere. Last but not least, late on Sunday night, Mercury comes to a halt as it begins its 3-week Retrograde phase.
There will be three Moon VoC phases this week: Monday evening (for almost 3.5 hours); Wednesday late evening (a little over 10.5 hours); and Saturday morning (almost 11.5 hours).
Before we get to this week’s forecast, I’d like to mention:

Now, this week’s Forecast…
Monday, September 20th:
Monday, the Moon remains in creative, sensitive Pisces until 11:13pm EDT. This Moon placement often finds us more sensitive, intuitive, idealistic and imaginative than normal. We also have a greater capacity for compassion, sympathy and affection for all — but especially for those who suffer or can be regarded as the underdog.
It’s also a great time for releasing fears — especially the ones based on a sense of separation — and experiencing “oneness”. Feelings tend to flow more freely; as best as you can, let them — in fact, “going with the flow” is the best way to go for the next couple of days.
Monday early afternoon, a somewhat challenging Venus/Chiron aspect becomes exact at 12:12pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Sunday early afternoon (Sept. 19th) on; and it will remain strong until Tuesday early afternoon (Sept. 21st). This aspect operates more on an internal level. We may feel uneasy or insecure in our relationships — and be faced with a choice — we must develop an inner awareness if we are to see what needs adjusting.
As you can imagine, this could make social interactions somewhat awkward; as best as you can, connect with kindness towards all (including yourself 🙂
We may also have a hard time making financial decisions that feel satisfactory. As best as you can, bring a good dose of compassion and understanding to yourself and embrace your own humanity as much as possible… and remember: like everything else, this is only temporary 😉
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 10-12 degrees of Scorpio or Aries,? Or perhaps your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus or Libra (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra)? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect.
Monday evening, a harmonious Mercury/Jupiter aspect becomes exact at 6:53pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from last week, Thursday evening (Sept. 16th) on; and due to Mercury’s Station-Retrograde phase, it will remain strong until Oct. 6th. During this aspect, we are more optimistic and realistic — which is good, since we see the bigger picture, communicate more positively and readily inspire others.
This harmonious connection strengthens our ability to connect and collaborate with others. We are tolerant of other perspectives and ideas, naturally avoid narrow-minded thinking, and feel at ease reconnecting with people from all walks of life. We might be drawn to exploring foreign languages, cultures, and countries.
This aspect also makes for quite a “heady” and idealistic experience — it’s all about thinking big and innovating. So, ask yourself: What are my expectations or attitudes towards the collective experience? What new vantage point might show me how to reinvent myself and my vision for “my people”?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 20-27 degrees of Libra, Aquarius, or Gemini,? If so, you will feel most blessed by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Sagittarius (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Jupiter of Sagittarius).
On Monday, at 7:55pm EDT, the Sun opposes the Moon in 28 degrees of Pisces. The Moon in creative, free-flowing Pisces makes an opposition to the Sun in detail-oriented, practical Virgo — the entrance of the Moon into Pisces on Saturday late afternoon (Sept. 18th) started the energetic build up towards this Full Moon — if you are already a Member of my online community, you may also want to watch my video on the subject: click here.
At the time of the Full Moon, we can ask ourselves: How far have we come since the Sept. 6th New Moon? What can we see now that was not apparent then?
This Full Moon has six planets in Retrograde motion: Jupiter, Saturn, Chiron, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. This indicates a strong need for inner processing and aligning ourselves with those planetary energies from within. It’s a necessary phase of re-evaluation, restructuring, and letting go.
Things appear to slow down during a retrograde passage, as internal shifts must happen before we can progress; once a planet turns direct, we feel ready to move forward in that area of life.
Three of the six planets I mentioned above will start to go direct in October (Jupiter, Saturn & Pluto), and at that point, we will get the opportunity to bring all of our inner discoveries from the previous 4-5 months to the outside world.
For a more in-depth interpretation of your own chart, in connection with Saturn’s & Pluto’s Station Direct phases, feel free to get the mp4-video presentation of this webinar here.
With this Full Moon, we are also dealing with two stationing planets — Mercury & Pluto — Mercury in Libra is preparing to start its 3-week Retrograde phase on Sept. 26/27th, and is therefore exalted at the time of the Full Moon; Pluto in Capricorn is preparing to end its 5-months Retrograde phase on Oct. 6th, and will be exalted until Oct. 21st.
We are getting ready to retrace our steps (Mercury in Libra), and are seeking empowerment when it comes to our long-term goals or social structures (Pluto in Capricorn).
Now let’s first address this Full Moon’s polarities: The Virgo/Pisces polarity has to do with our ability to connect the head with the heart, logic with intuition, matter with spirit. So the question is: how do we integrate Pisces and Virgo?
This may seem a challenging question, given Virgo’s leaning toward detailed, analytical understanding, in contrast with Pisces‘ call to open our hearts and allow for all (including things that seem paradoxical to the mind). In fact, on an energetic level there is no separation, everything is interconnected — we need both left- and right-brain (the logical and the creative).
Ask yourself: What if… To read the whole Full Moon article, and get all the Coaching questions, click here.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 26-29 degrees of Pisces, Virgo, Gemini, Sagittarius, or 0 degrees of Aries, Libra, Cancer, or Capricorn? If so, you are more affected by this Full Moon. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).
Monday at 7:55pm EDT, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that lasts for almost 3.5 hours, until 11:13pm EDT. Use this intuitive time to find a balance between logic and intuition. As best as you can, discern without judgment, serve with an open heart, and improve our daily lives, without getting hung up on timing or perfectionism, bringing love and compassion to all of life’s apparent curveballs.
Could you integrate a clear, observant mind with a compassionate and loving heart? What might you experience when your mind operates in partnership with your intuitive sensing?
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Monday evening ahead of time.
Monday at 11:13pm EDT, the Moon moves into pioneering, fast-paced Aries, where it will journey until Thursday morning. Life is an adventure, we’re more open to new ideas, and have great enthusiasm for new projects. Patience is certainly not our strong suit at this time, but we can decide quickly, and act immediately.
Our independence and dynamism are important to us right now, so we may find it hard to be disciplined or accept advice at this time; in general, our responses to others tend to be more assertive or even aggressive. If you find your foot tapping, try…

Tuesday, Sept. 21st:
Tuesday, the Moon remains in pioneering, fast-paced Aries all day (see Monday late evening for details).
Tuesday morning, we seek a balance between our need for self-fulfillment, and our desire to collaborate: What might be possible if you could integrate one with the other?(Moon in Aries opposes Mars in Libra, exact at 7:03am EDT)
Tuesday early afternoon, we get an opportunity to take actions on our personal goals, in a very concrete way and bring a new level of focus and authenticity to our future visions. (Moon in Aries sextiles Saturn in Aquarius, exact at 12:43pm EDT)
Tuesday evening, has lots of potential for healing around family, the “mother archetype”, home, and our past in general. We may feel more sensitive and insecure about what we identify with, and around our ability to be assertive; this gives us the opportunity to give ourselves some compassion, acceptance and nurturing in the face of our sensitivities and limitations. (Moon in Aries conjuncts Chiron in Aries, exact at 8:16pm EDT)
Also, on Tuesday, Mercury’s Station intensifies, as Mercury is preparing to come to a halt on Monday Sept. 27th, (beginning its 3.5-week retrograde phase). As I mentioned last week Sunday already, during the station phase, we feel Mercury’s energies more strongly. It will remain at its most intensified until Sept. 30th.
Pay attention to anything “in your face” in any of the following areas: communications, short travels, transportation of any kind, communication devices. You will get a chance to make adjustments once Mercury has ended its Retrograde phase (to be more precise, during the Shadow phase that follows).
Here are some questions you could ask yourself during the Mercury Station phase: Is my mind drawn to just causes? Do I want to meet people half-way? Am I constantly thinking about having a more balanced life and how to achieve this?
What would it be like to communicate from fairness and collaboration? What about listening with the intention of creating win-wins? What will get me one baby step closer to that, right here, right now?
For the next 9 days, we might experience delays or misunderstandings; things could feel “off” or stagnant. It might be a good idea to give yourself some extra time when getting ready to go somewhere — and that goes for the journey itself, too — especially if you intend to drive or use public transportation. Going with the flow is definitely recommended at this time.
Be extra-patient if you intend to buy, sell or ship big-ticket items, especially if they are transportation or communication devices like anything connected with planes, trains, cars, phones, computers, iPads, etc. Best of all (if possible): wait until after Nov. 2nd, when Mercury’s post- Shadow phase is over.
Some of us will feel the effects of the Mercury station more than others: those of us who have Gemini or Virgo as our Sun- or Rising-Sign (Ascendant); and those of us with personal planets in 22-27 degrees of Libra, Aries, Cancer or Capricorn.
Wednesday, Sept. 22nd:
Wednesday, the Moon remains in pioneering, fast-paced Aries all day (see Monday late evening for details).
Wednesday morning, a challenging Mercury/Pluto aspect becomes exact at 9:12am EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from last week, Friday evening (Sept. 17th) on; and due to the Pluto’s & Mercury’s Station it will remain strong until Oct. 5th This aspect creates some tension in our lives. We may feel anxious or stressed by one or more situations or interactions to do with one-on-one relationships.
We are being invited to grow and make some changes in our lives, particularly in terms of our thinking processes. We are being asked to find creative solutions and be completely honest with ourselves and others. The best way to achieve this is by the continual practice of self-care and self-nurturing.
We have tremendous focus and drive right now, which can tip into obsession. With this aspect an all-or-nothing attitude is very likely. Choose love over fear whenever possible. Not many people enjoy being second-guessed all the time, yet that is something that we are inclined to do now.
However, our determination to get to the bottom of any matter, to rip away falsehoods and expose true motives, can be used for good if we employ it in our work, for example, in regards to investigations or research. This is an opportunity to learn to harness our intense mental energy and apply it productively. We are also capable of very hard work, focus and effort now.
We have a great love of debate, but we might want to be careful that we don’t overpower others with our strong opinions, attempting to “convert” them to our frame of mind, or treat regular exchanges of opinion as battlegrounds. Connect to others, empowering them with what you feel passionate about. Choose your words carefully, from a deeply connected and empowered place.
Ask yourself: How can I empower myself and others 5% more today? How might an increase of Self-care support this desire for empowered conversations and connections? What needs to be said? What doesn’t?
If I observe an “all-or-nothing” attitude in myself, could I give myself permission to relax into the “love-energy” that always resides inside of me? Could I acknowledge first, and then release, any fears or concerns connected to achievements or relationships?
Also, feel free to watch my “Additional Support”-video on the subject!
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in degrees of 21-28 Libra, Capricorn, Aries or Cancer? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Scorpio (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Pluto rules Scorpio)
Wednesday at 3:21pm EDT, the Sun changes signs from detail-oriented, practical Virgo into harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra, where it will journey until Oct. 23rd. This signifies the beginning of Autumn in the Northern Hemisphere of this planet. The Fall Equinox is an energetic turning point from one season to the next. Equinoxes are super potent times for setting intentions. They are energetic gateways, where we experience the inter-relationship between light and dark, inner and outer, spirit and matter.
With the Sun entering Libra, we are being called to pay attention to our relationships. Bringing equality, cooperation and balance to our dealings with the world is recommended during this time. We have a keen awareness of issues concerning justice and we are more likely to take a stand against injustice, especially when it’s directed against others.
However, we also want to keep the peace, so we may use language (and our intellects) to diplomatically address such issues. We can see all sides of a situation — and therefore it’s not always easy to make the “right” choices. Our desire for harmony is great; more often than not — consciously or unconsciously — we may find ourselves seeking the approval of others.
All this is especially true if you are a Leo or Libra Sun-sign or Rising-sign. As a Libra, you will feel a good dose of confidence and playfulness in the next four weeks; as a Leo, you are more aware of the delicate balance that is required internally and externally in your life.
Wednesday at 10:05pm EDT, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that lasts for a little over 10.5 hours, until 8:38am EDT (Thursday morning). Use this intuitive time to reexamine your various one-on-one relationships — ask yourself: How can I balance my need for self-fulfillment and independence with my desire to connect and communicate in a harmonious way?
Do your best to find a balance between those two poles: What might be possible if you could integrate one with the other?
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Wednesday late evening until Thursday morning ahead of time.
Thursday, Sept. 23rd:
Thursday, the Moon remains in pioneering, fast-paced Aries and VoC until 8:38am EDT (see Monday late evening for details).
Thursday early morning, a Venus/Uranus opposition becomes exact at 5:41am EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Monday evening on; and it will remain strong until Saturday evening. This opposition calls us to balance “togetherness” with “having our space”.
We may find that we disagree with others. We may be restless, even anxious, and therefore feel pressure to act (and react) impulsively towards others — or towards our finances. Try your best not to put all your money on a horse, just because it has a funny name; or elope with a random hottie 😉
We could also be caught off-guard somehow, so stay open-minded and flexible. Do not get a facelift or any kind of beauty treatment that has the potential to go horribly wrong. I’m not kidding.
If there were a way to fully express our individuality in our relationships, without needing to pull or push away… what might that way be? Could you shake things up a little, without being oppositional or offensive?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career point (or any personal planets) in 11-18 degrees of
Scorpio, Taurus, Leo, or Aquarius? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Aquarius (Venus being the ruler of Taurus and Libra, while Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius)
Thursday, at 8:38am EDT, the Moon moves into steady, peaceful Taurus, where it will journey until Saturday evening. We love all physical comforts, prefer consistency, and would rather stick with what we know works well.
In other words: change is not our favorite thing and “rushing things” goes against our grain. What is our favorite thing for the next 3 days? It’s probably, slowing down and getting in touch with whatever delights our senses 😉
Friday, Sept. 24th:
Friday, the Moon remains in steady, peaceful Taurus all day (see Thursday morning for details).
Friday mid-afternoon, we are asked to connect with people with similar values who can provide practical support for our visions, and to share with them what is important to us. (Moon in Taurus conjuncts Uranus in Taurus, exact at 12:56pm EDT)
Friday late afternoon: we are invited to create a balance between our need for material stability and our desire to connect intimately and authentically with others. We discover what we most require and explore what we most desire — and fear. (Moon in Taurus opposes Venus in Scorpio, exact at 4:16pm EDT).
Since we have very little going on today, I would like to mention that I was Interviewed for the Self Love Show with Dawn Light & Trish Wright. We talked about how Astrology can help us love ourselves more, and how we can deepen that love.
==> Feel free to watch our show here
Saturday, Sept. 25th:
Saturday, the Moon remains in steady, peaceful Taurus until 8:36pm EDT (see Thursday morning for details).
Saturday morning, at 9:09am EDT, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that lasts for almost 11.5 hours, until 8:36pm EDT. Use this intuitive time to empower each other in regards to earthly issues and mutually support each other in practical ways.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Saturday morning until the evening ahead of time.
Saturday early evening, a harmonious Mars/Saturn aspect becomes exact at 5:50pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Tuesday evening on; and it will remain strong until next week, Thursday evening. This aspect brings more self-discipline, maturity, focused drive, and self-motivation.
We tend to be more idealistic than usual; however our progress in most projects may still be slow, but it will always be steady — as you can imagine, this can be a very productive period, as we are able to take responsibility for what is durable and sustainable in our communities and collaborations. The connections we are making are more likely to be for the long-term. We can bring honesty and realism to the world, see what works and what doesn’t work for us, and are more likely to approach things with integrity.
This is an especially favorable aspect for those working in anything connected to the justice system or that requires diplomacy or mediation; also any work concerned with beauty, harmony, and art (particularly collaborative art) — and for and the self-employed in general.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 4-10 degrees of Libra, Aquarius, or Gemini? If so, you will be most blessed by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries or Capricorn (Mars is the ruler of Aries; Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn).
Saturday at 8:36pm EDT, the Moon moves into chatty, versatile Gemini, where it will journey until next week, Tuesday morning (Sept. 28th). For the next 2.5 days, we like to learn, connect and interact as much as possible. “Busy” feels good: connecting online, on the phone, or sharing face-to-face, preferably multi-tasking all the way…
The one thing we can do without is boredom: If our mind is not engaged in some way, we might as well curl up and play dead 🙂
Sunday, Sept 26th:
Sunday, the Moon remains in chatty, versatile Gemini all day (see Saturday evening for details).
Sunday late morning, we sense harmonious connections even though we are focused on making progress. Where our vision for the future is concerned, we are invited to bring a new level of authenticity, and make realistic choices around connecting with others. (Moon in Gemini trines Saturn in Aquarius, exact at 10:57am EDT)
Sunday late morning/early afternoon, is a good time to connect with others, socialize, and share information with them. (Moon in Gemini trines Mars in Libra, exact at 11:59am EDT)
Sunday evening, consider connecting with others, socializing, and taking a compassionate approach toward yourself and others, especially when it comes to personal goals and passions. Ask yourself: what if taking a compassionate approach towards myself and others actually made for more fulfilling connections? (Moon in Gemini sextiles Chiron in Aries, exact at 6:53pm EDT)
Sunday night/Monday very early morning, at 1:10am EDT, Mercury comes to a still stand in 25.5 degrees of Libra (starting its 3-week Retrograde phase), slowing things down tremendously from Saturday (Sept. 25th) until Wednesday morning (Sept. 29th).
Give yourself extra time to go to work (during that time) or to get things done. If you are traveling, just simply go with the flow… you’ll get there… eventually 😉 The same is true when it comes to all our technological communication devices…
With Mercury being Retrograde, its energy feels stronger inside of us, helping us recognize what is out of alignment, and pointing to how we can start to realign ourselves with the outside world, starting from within. We can ask ourselves: What feels unjust or imbalanced in my life?
Because of its retrograde status, Mercury will spend 66 days in Libra, the sign most concerned with one-on-one relationships, partnerships, balance, harmony, justice, collaboration, and art. This provides extra opportunities to connect from a place of harmony, peace, diplomacy, with a view to creating win/win outcomes.
If any thinking and/or communication issues have come up around our one-on-one relationships (both personal and business), or things to do with justice or injustice since Sept. 6th, we’ll now have a chance to do some internal work on those issues. We are also invited to look more closely at anything that creates disharmony or imbalance in our lives.
This Retrograde phase will last until Oct. 18th. People worry about Mercury Retrogrades, but it’s important not to stop one’s life during these times. As mentioned above, certain things may take longer — but a retrograde gives us a chance to resolve things that have been keeping us from living our lives in a more wholesome way — especially things that came up within the past three weeks.
For the next three weeks, we get a chance to explore various things: our inner relationship between the masculine and the feminine; the amount of approval we seek from others or from ourselves; the ability to create balance in our lives, and “just” collaborations with others.
We are invited to go within and start looking at how much we value ourselves and our one-one-one relationships.
This will help us learn where we need to make space for peaceful collaboration and for artful communication; we may also get to reorganize partnerships that we started since Sept. 6th.
We can bring a more balanced approach to life, so this is also a chance to readdress anything from the past that felt imbalanced or disharmonious, and is now ready to be cleared, This is a process that begins internally and works its way out — and offers a chance to honor and communicate win-win scenarios. It’s time to rethink, retool, and release what has come to feel unjust or has become misaligned with our thinking.
This is also an optimal time for catching up on unfinished business, for repairing what’s not working, and also for reconnecting with those people, places, or things that bring us closer to feeling fully empowered. It’s therefore a great time to research financial collaborations, psychologically intriguing projects, or just ideas we’d like to engage with or learn about — and this is especially true for anything linked to the area where Mercury shows up in our natal chart…
As always: with a Mercury Retrograde phase, always read the small print — and re-read a contract before signing (if you have to sign something) — or ask another person for a second opinion… Basically, during these periods, it’s best to be aware of any details that we might have overlooked… and check in with our intuition… and stay open to the possibility of renegotiation or adjustments, down the line!
In general, a Mercury Retrograde is a great time for re-evaluating and re-organizing. This is especially true for our thought patterns and decisions (particularly those made in the 3 weeks prior to the start of the Retrograde) — but it’s true of our lives in general: we can reach a clearer understanding as to what works, and what doesn’t, and what needs to change.
Reconnecting with old friends, clients, siblings, and relationships in general is also favored at this time…
Mercury also represents our day-to-day mind; this too is experienced more internally at this time. When it comes to communication, make sure that what you say, write and hear is the same as the intended meaning — and use the spell-checker 😉
Another thing to take into consideration: how does each Mercury Retrograde phase affect your personal birth chart. Do you have any personal planets that Mercury will align with during its retrograde journey? The houses of your chart each represent different areas of your life — which of the houses in your chart is affected by this retrograde?
As with any retrograde, some of us will be more affected than others, depending on how it interacts with our personal chart. If you have your Ascendant, Career Point or any personal planets in: 8-28 degrees of Libra, Aries, Cancer or Capricorn you will be more affected by this particular retrograde. This is also true for those of us who have a Gemini, or Virgo Sun- or Rising-sign (Mercury rules Gemini and Virgo).
And…
A heads up for next Monday (Sept. 27th): the Moon remains in chatty, versatile Gemini all day. In the very early morning, Mercury comes to a halt, and begins its 3-week Retrograde Phase in Libra (see Sunday night, Sept. 26th for details). The Moon in Gemini quincunxes Venus in Scorpio, exact at 11:28am EDT; it squares Neptune in Pisces, exact at 4:11pm EDT; it trines Jupiter in Aquarius, exact at 7:25pm EDT; and last but not least, it quincunxes Pluto in Capricorn, exact at 10:06pm EDT. More about all the details in next week’s forecast : )
