Discernment (or Careful Evaluation) — Forecast Sept. 14 – 20

This week’s headline items: Mars, Jupiter & Pluto are still exalted/stationing all week, and Saturn’s Station phase begins on Monday — it will be slowing down, getting ready to end its 4.5-month Retrograde phase — while on Thursday morning, the SuperMoon/New Moon in Virgo becomes exact. There will be three Moon VoC phases this week: Tuesday late morning (for almost 3.5 hours), Thursday morning (a little over 7 hours) and Saturday late morning (a little over 4 hours).

Now, this week’s Forecast…

Monday, Sept. 14th:

Monday, the Moon remains in fun-loving and attention-loving Leo all day. It will journey there until Tuesday afternoon. We may lack objectivity and struggle with backing down or compromising.

We all love to be admired — or at the very least acknowledged — for our greatness 🙂 So hand out some compliments — let people know how proud you are of them, tell them how much you love them. Come from the heart with this and all other things… be honest, authentic.

Fun, games and romance are a big part of this energy as well. You might also enjoy spending time with little ones. If there are no “outer children” around, how about getting in touch with your “inner child” — it’s definitely easier for the next two days. What are you most grateful for today? What would be heaps and heaps of fun? What would be so much fun, you let out a tiny squeak, just thinking of it?

Monday evening, a harmonious Sun/Pluto aspect becomes exact at 7:09pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from this last week Friday evening (Sept. 11th) on, it will remain strong until this Thursday evening. This aspect brings a sense of focus and empowerment to our long-term goals. We have the ability to look at everything in a very down-to-earth manner right now; through our understanding of “what works and what doesn’t”, we can make more powerful choices.

We can also deepen our understanding of our own motivations and look closely at where we are heading. This aspect also brings an intensity and a depth to our conscious awareness; therefore this is also a great time to transform our lives, stripping away anything — even people — that no longer connect with who we are.

Ask yourself: How can I live more authentically? Is there anything holding me back? What fears and attachments could I release now, that no longer serve my evolution? Would I be willing to let them go, just for now, and just as best as I can?

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 19-26 degrees of Virgo, Capricorn or Taurus? If so, you will be even more blessed by this aspect than those who do not; this is also true for those of us with our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Scorpio (the Sun being the ruler of Leo; Pluto rules Scorpio).

Also Monday, Saturn’s Station phase begins (in 25.5º of Capricorn); it will be slowing down, getting ready to end its 4.5-month Retrograde phase. “Stationing” is when a planet moves more slowly through the sky. When a planet stations, its energy becomes more “exalted”; in the case of Saturn, this means we all feel the need to more fully face what is currently so, our actual reality.

Saturn has to do with doing what needs to be done — so we can fully understand the practical implications of our reality, and the consequences of our past actions. Saturn also represents our structures, responsibilities, commitments and ability to “do” life, on life’s terms.

As spirit beings in a physical world, it’s best to observe the laws of the physical world. The sooner we learn to “play by the rules”, the easier life gets. Saturn also represents time and the “domain” of time: growing up, maturing, understanding our limitations, setting healthy boundaries with others, living with integrity, being authentic and truthful, being serious and focused on building something of value to society.

Saturn is our teacher. If you had a cosmic teacher, what would your personal “earth class” be in, right now? Where are you asked to look at your current “earth structures” and become more mature? Which long-term goal calls out for commitment? What will time do?

As best as you can during the time of the station, bring flexibility and open-mindedness to any frustrations. The station-phase will last until Oct. 14th; and Saturn goes direct — after having been retrograde for 4.5-month — on Sept. 29th in almost 25.5 degrees of Capricorn.

We are getting ready to move forward on some important long-term goals, but we’ll need to be patient until Saturn goes direct on Sept. 29th. Until then, as best as you can, realistically evaluate what’s needed in order to build some healthy, long-lasting foundations for the next phase in your life.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 12-16 degrees of Capricorn, Cancer, Aries, or Libra? If so, you will…

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 12-16 degrees of Capricorn, Cancer, Aries, or Libra? If so, you will be more affected by this station. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Capricorn, since Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn.

Tuesday, Sept. 15th:

Tuesday, the Moon remains in fun-loving and attention-loving Leo until 2:37pm EDT (see Monday morning for details).

Tuesday at 11:09am EDT, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that lasts for almost 3.5 hours until 2:37pm EDT. Use this intuitive time to get excited about an adventure: you have an opportunity to act from the heart, and become part of something exciting.

As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Tuesday late morning until the afternoon ahead of time.

Tuesday late morning, a challenging Venus/Uranus aspect becomes exact at 11:29am EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from last week Saturday evening (Sept. 12th) on, it will remain strong until this Thursday evening. This “stretch aspect” asks us to grow beyond what we know and have experienced in the past in regards to our relationships, and especially our romantic relationships.

Priorities may shift. We may experience clashes of taste or values within our networks; as you can imagine, we may feel some instability or restlessness in connection to others. We may also struggle with freedom versus material safety — the latter manifesting as fears around financial goals.

As best as you can, take a deep breath and hold off on decision-making with regards to finances — in particular, it is best to avoid impulse buys at this time.

In general, expect the unexpected: Things may take a different turn when it comes to the truly important. Keep your mind and heart open: if something demands elimination or change, it was waiting for that shift to happen anyway. As best as you can, find creative solutions and stay flexible and adaptable. This is not the best time to take things too personally (but then again, is there ever a good time for that? 🙂

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 7-13 degrees Leo, Taurus, Aquarius or Scorpio? If so, you will feel this aspect quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Aquarius (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Uranus rules Aquarius).

Tuesday at 2:37pm EDT, the Moon moves into detail-oriented, practical Virgo, where it will journey until Thursday afternoon; turning our focus toward the practical and wholesome. We are generous with our time/services and we love to help others. We also have a fondness for science and anything that makes sense in our world — things and knowledge we can apply and use.

Health might come also into focus at this time. We notice the parts that make up the whole; this is a great time to see if our daily routines (eating, work, self-care, etc.) align with our long-term goals. This Moon placement starts the build up towards the Super Moon/New Moon (exact Thursday morning).

Wednesday, Sept. 16th:

Wednesday, the Moon remains in detail-oriented, practical Virgo all day (see Tuesday afternoon for details).

Wednesday very early morning, calls for some inner adjustments. We feel uneasy or awkward and need to make a choice. Making this choice demands we develop inner awareness around two very different urges: on the one hand, the desire to heal our relationship with the inner masculine (assertiveness/anger, leadership, taking actions) — and on the other, the need to tend to our daily work or health routines.

Wednesday morning, we are invited to connect with like-minded people and learn something new about our unique talents or value in the world. We are able to better connect to anything that requires attention to detail. We might also perhaps implement revolutionary health routines or other systems in our day to day life that support our values and make life more enjoyable.

Wednesday evening, this could be a great time to clarify what’s important to us. Ask yourself: What works for me in my daily routines? What doesn’t? What are my expectations or attitudes towards those things? What new vantage point might show me how to easily implement my business goals?

Wednesday late evening, we seek a balance between head and heart, facts and imagination, reason and intuition/compassion. That said, if you can achieve that balance, it’s a great day for being of service.

Wednesday, is also the last day before the Super New Moon in Virgo becomes exact. This is a great day to let go of what no longer serves us. As best as you can, avoid jumping the gun: Rather than launching into brand-new endeavors or connections, wait until a couple of days has passed after the New Moon (click here to watch my New Moon video).

Some of us might feel a little anxious or nervous today: As best as you can, get quiet and go within… Listen to the silence between the sounds… Find peace in the connection with your innermost and truest Self.

Thursday, Sept. 17th:

Thursday is a big day (astrologically speaking). The Moon remains in detail-oriented, practical Virgo until 2:56pm EDT (see Tuesday afternoon for details).

Thursday morning, a challenging Mercury/Jupiter aspect becomes exact at 6:34am EDT. We started feeling this aspect build from Monday night on; it will be strong until Saturday morning. This aspect asks that we grow and evolve in the following areas: how we communicate, think, and what (or how) we share.

We may have to find creative solutions to communicate; we may have to learn about our thinking process and conditioning. “Listening” might not be our strong suit at this time: we want to share our ideas, projects and long-term plans without limitations, and are thus inclined to exaggeration, often unintended.

We might also feel scattered and have a hard time putting our ideas into practice. The upside to all this: we can be extraordinarily funny, interesting and creative.

As Jupiter is still exalted at the time of this aspect, impatience might be a given — but moving faster or doing more is not necessarily better in this case. What if you slowed down just 5% when connecting with others, so you can practice listening 5% more? What might be possible in your collaborations with others if you were 5% more aware of your assumption in that moment?

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 14-21 degrees of Libra, Capricorn, Cancer, or Aries? If so, you will feel this aspect quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Sagittarius (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius).

Thursday morning, at 7:00am EDT, the Moon aligns with the Sun in 25 degrees of Virgo, marking the beginning of a new Moon cycle. We started to feel the effects of this New Moon the moment the Moon entered Virgo, on Tuesday afternoon. Feel free to watch my New Moon video on the subject.

Not only is this the beginning of a new Moon cycle, it is also a “SuperMoon“; these occur when the Moon becomes either Full or New while at its closest distance to the Earth.

SuperMoons generate greater gravitational and electromagnetic forces and therefore increased effects on our physical, mental, and emotional bodies. This, in turn, facilitates greater shifts in consciousness.

This Super New Moon also has an abundance of planets in Earth signs, similar to the last Full Moon (that was exact on Sept. 2nd). The Moon & the Sun in Virgo, Jupiter, Pluto & Saturn in Capricorn, and Uranus in Taurus. This means that our physical & structural realities, and the sustainability of those realities, take the forefront on both the individual and collective levels.

Ask yourself: Is my current life — its form and how it’s set up structurally — sustainable as it is? What if “simplifying my life” supported my current structures?

There are also four stationing planets in this New Moon chart: Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto!

This means all four of these planet’s energies are exalted, making their vibrations louder — something is “in our face” in relation to these energies for the next month, demanding our attention and awareness. I will talk more about this below, but first let’s look at the Virgo energy of this Super New Moon:

Virgo provides an opportunity to learn about being of service — and what it might mean to strengthen our focus on improving our daily routines — getting organized, for example — and taking care of health matters.

This New Moon cycle will thus be a great time to begin new projects that demand attention to detail, list-making, and taking pride in “small” accomplishments. We might start a new health regimen, perhaps by paying close attention to our diet; we could also set up specific routines that help us manage our lives in constructive and mindful ways.

This cycle is all about handling the nitty-gritty details of our day-to-day life in an organized, step-by-step fashion, so we can free our minds of clutter. Where could you use more open space?

Things to watch out for: sweating the details, worrying, and being extra-critical of ourselves and others when something doesn’t get done “right”.

Another great way to step into the higher vibrations of Virgo: recognize, as best as you can, that humility, self-improvement, and being of service bring you closer to your inner divinity and your Soul’s path.

Ask yourself: How could I, as a Spirit-being, operate more efficiently in the physical world? Might tweaking my daily routines help me function better in the physical world? Might that also support me in being of service? What benefits might I reap if I could better discern between the essential and the redundant?

Since the New Moon in Virgo trines Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn (both of which are exalted at the time of the New Moon), we can askTo read the whole article and get all the Coaching Questions for this month’s New Moon, click here.

The New Moon is also the best time to set some powerful intentions for this month’s Moon cycle. Intentions are best done soon after the New Moon becomes exact — and definitely not during a Moon void of course phaseSo this month, the best and most potent time to set intentions would be between 7:00am and 7:42am on Thursday morning (Sept. 17th); and then again, on Thursday from 2:56pm until 7:00am on Saturday, Sept. 19th (New York-time).

If you live in a timezone other than EDT (that’s the US East Coast time zone), feel free to join my Facebook Fan-page or follow me on twitter. I will be posting reminders on Thursday and Friday throughout the day, as well as on Saturday morning, to let you know when it is time to set your intentions 😉

Thursday at 7:42am EDT, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that lasts for a little over 7 hours until 2:56pm EDT. Use this intuitive time to look at the details, and focus on what’s sitting right in front of you that demands to be taken care of, so you can get to the next phase of accomplishment.

As best as you can, look at all the practical implications; slow down and take your time if you want to manifest something that can stand the test of time — rushing things will most likely backfire right now.

As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Thursday morning until the afternoon ahead of time.

Thursday at 2:56pm EDT, the Moon moves into harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra, where it will journey until Saturday afternoon. The energy of the Libra Moon helps us be naturally courteous and diplomatic; we are more polite at this time, as we seek the approval of others.

We very much want to maintain equal, fair relationships at this time, and are therefore open to making compromises and negotiating. These next two days are a great time for mediation — but our need for peace and accompanying aversion to direct conflict could pull us to “yes” more easily than we might like.

We may also be able see both sides of the equation so well that we can’t make decisions. As best as you can, find an inner balance with this and communicate what needs to be said with grace and charm — even if it’s “No” 😉 One last quick note: this is also a great time for anything to do with visual arts.

Thursday late afternoon, a harmonious Sun/Saturn aspect becomes exact at 5:36pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from this Monday evening on, it will remain strong until Sunday evening. Commitment and discipline are the keys to understanding our heart’s desire right now. We face life on life’s terms and feel up to doing so (especially when it comes to our creative self-expression).

We can ask ourselves: How might taking a practical approach to our daily routines serve the long-term vision of ourselves (individually & collectively)? What if we applied that same approach to health-related routines? What could we achieve if we brought 5% more humility to our long-term plans?

Paradoxically, we can also bring a more mature approach to exploring our “inner child” energy. How might a supportive “inner parent” help your “inner child” feel safe to play?

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 22-29 degrees of Virgo, Capricorn, or Taurus? Or your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Capricorn (the Sun rules Leo; Saturn rules Capricorn)? If either of those is true, you can expect to be more blessed by this aspect 🙂

Friday, Sept. 18th:

Friday, the Moon remains in harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra all day (see Thursday afternoon for details).

Friday very early morning, we become more aware that we need to find a balance between two very different energies — on the one hand,  taking a compassionate approach towards our personal goals, while being assertive in the world — and on the other hand, our need to connect and collaborate with others. Ask yourself: what if taking a compassionate approach towards myself actually made for more fulfilling connections with others?

Friday morning, calls for some inner adjustments, as we feel uneasy or awkward, and need to make a choice. Making this choice demands we develop inner awareness around two very different urges: on the one hand, we want to innovate in the area of our values (and maybe also have some financial breakthroughs); on the other hand, the feel the need to attend to our one-on-one relationships, supporting them (and perhaps collaborating).

Friday afternoon, a somewhat challenging Mercury/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 4:05pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Thursday on, it will remain strong until Saturday. This could contribute either to some mental confusion and spaciness, or the need to communicate with others from our imagination (but possibly not knowing how to achieve that).

We may experience some inner struggles or there are adjustments that need to be made — we may feel confused at times, as we are feeling an internal pull in some very different directions — going within, slowing things down and getting quiet, vs. connecting with others one-on-one. We are seeking an inner transformation.

Sometimes, imagination and mind can run way ahead of what is actually feasible (and sensible). At these times, the grand vision is best served by focusing on the next concrete step, accepting our own idiosyncrasies as we go.

Honesty is crucial here, especially self-honesty; inner awareness is in turn crucial to deep honesty and authenticity. What are you sensing? Intuiting? Where does the inner experience of love and connectedness meet the outer? What do you currently experience in your relationships that doesn’t seem to be a good fit with your ideals, dreams or fantasies?

How could you learn more about collaboration? What asks to be communicated in your relationships? Are you avoiding any such communications? Could you give yourself some space, time and love around all of this? What’s true for you? What might be possible for others? Where do those overlap?

Note that I say “overlap”: Don’t look for an exact fit, this is more like two puzzle pieces that came from different jigsaw puzzles. You might keep looking at the imperfect fit and feel a nagging sense that something doesn’t make sense… and it doesn’t — it can’t. The pieces are not from the same game. Just do your best to “hang out” with the discomfort, rather than repeatedly trying to figure it out and fix it.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 18-20 degrees of Libra or Pisces? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Pisces (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Neptune rules Pisces).

Friday early evening, we are invited to make some adjustments in our lives and find creative solutions to seemingly unsolvable situations. As best as you can, look to expand your perspectives around any long-term goals you are currently pursuing, and find ways to create win-win outcomes for your various one-on-one relationships.

Friday late evening: we are invited to make some internal adjustments. We may want to connect with others, but may also need to tune in to our intuitive inner voice. What do you hear when you get really quiet?

Saturday, Sept. 19th:

Saturday, the Moon remains in harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra until 2:33pm EDT (see Thursday afternoon for details).

Saturday at 10:29am EDT, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that lasts for a little over 4 hours until 2:33pm EDT. Use this intuitive time to reexamine your various one-on-one relationships — ask yourself: How can I balance my need for connection and harmony with my desire for self-fulfillment and independence?

As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Saturday late morning until the afternoon ahead of time.

Saturday at 2:33pm EDT, the Moon moves into passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio, where it will journey until next week Monday afternoon (Sept. 21st). We feel things deeply and have “X-Ray Vision” and “Bullshit-Smelling Abilities” 😉

Emotional authenticity is extremely important to us at this time; anything less than 100% emotional honesty could be perceived as flat-out dishonest. Once we feel safe trusting someone, we want to merge with them, preferably forever… as long as our trust is never betrayed.

The Moon in Scorpio urges us to uncover our own power. This occurs by a process of subtraction — it urges us to let go of whatever disempowers us. It’s therefore an excellent time to look at “old” fears, limiting habits or emotional attachments, especially those stemming from past traumas.

Moon in Scorpio tends to run right over ambiguity — it’s “in or out”, “with us or against us”, “love me or leave me”. It can therefore be stormy — a cold winter storm, or a torrid tropical storm of passion, depending on how we “work” the energies 🙂

Manipulation and paranoia are the lower vibrations of this aspect, so as best you can, be straightforward — act in good faith and assume it in others. Best of all, be truly present to the fluctuations of your feelings — no matter if they’re “polite” or “timely”. Feelings aren’t facts, but they are information — and heeding them will help you embrace all of who you are.

Know thyself — and love thyself — you shall be set free. Remember: Love connects us to the Power within; Fear causes “Force” to show up — and that’s ultimately what disempowers us and others.

Saturday early evening, a somewhat challenging Sun/Mars aspect becomes exact at 5:55pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Friday evening on, it will remain strong until Sunday evening.  We feel uneasy about something, sort of awkward; we need to make a choice. We need to develop inner awareness, so we can make adjustments.

This might concern compromising with others. Our enthusiasm might make us impatient or hasty with others. As best as you can, keep choosing the “better” alternative, adjusting as needed.

When life slows down, or becomes uncomfortable, simplify and be patient. We are changing and growing in ways that we can’t comprehend right now. Stay as open and observant as you can — especially since Mars is still exalted due to its station phase… and also retrograde.

Are you over-analyzing things? Are you being too impulsive or impatient? What might need simplifying in your life, so you can take the next step forward?

A Quincunx between Aries and Virgo can also indicate a Health-aspect. So check: Where in your life do you need to make adjustments so your body doesn’t experience “burn out”? What needs your discernment (or your careful evaluation) so you can move forward with vigor and passion?

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 26-28 degrees of Virgo or Aries? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Aries (the Sun rules Leo; Mars is the ruler of Aries).

Sunday, Sept. 20th:

Sunday, the Moon remains in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio all day (see Saturday afternoon for details).

Sunday morning, we are invited to examine our relationship to money, power, and resources (personal and shared). Ask yourself: How can I balance my need for a deeper, more empowered experience with others, against my wish to honor my personal values and desire for freedom?

Sunday afternoon, we feel a desire for acknowledgment and adoration… but also a need for deep, authentic — even intimate — connections to others. As best as you can, get creative!

Sunday evening: we have an opportunity to go deeper and see a new perspective — one that supports our long-term goals and aligns them with our need for authentic emotional experiences.

Sunday late evening, we are likely to experience a sense of ease and flow, but may need to slow down and allow our feelings to come through. A gentle approach is best. We feel good when coming from the heart and making deeper connections with others. Being open to receiving, trusting the process and going with the flow are key!

Sunday night/Monday very early morning, a challenging Mercury/Pluto aspect becomes exact at 1:21am EDT; we started to feel this aspect build from Saturday (Sept. 19th) on, it will remain strong until next week Tuesday (Sept 22nd). This aspect creates some tension in our lives. We may feel anxious or stressed by one or more situations or interactions to do with one-on-one relationships.

We are being invited to grow and make some changes in our lives, particularly in terms of our thinking processes. We are being asked to find creative solutions and be completely honest with ourselves and others. The best way to achieve this is by the continual practice of self-care and self-nurturing.

We have tremendous focus and drive right now, which can tip into obsession. With this aspect an all-or-nothing attitude is very likely. Choose love over fear whenever possible. Not many people enjoy being second-guessed all the time, yet that is something that we are inclined to do now.

However, our determination to get to the bottom of any matter, to rip away falsehoods and expose true motives, can be used for good if we employ it in our work, for example, in regards to investigations or research. This is an opportunity to learn to harness our intense mental energy and apply it productively. We are also capable of very hard work, focus and effort now.

We have a great love of debate, but should be careful that we don’t overpower others with our strong opinions, attempting to “convert” them to our frame of mind, or treat regular exchanges of opinion as battlegrounds. Connect to others, empowering them with what you feel passionate about. Choose your words carefully, from a deeply connected and empowered place.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in degrees of 17-24 Libra, Capricorn, Aries or Cancer? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Scorpio (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Pluto rules Scorpio)

And…

A heads up for next Monday (Sept. 21st): the Moon remains in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio until 3:32pm EDT(see Saturday afternoon Sept. 19th for details). At 2:13pm EDT, we enter a brief Moon Void of Course (VoC), that lasts for a little over one hour until 3:32pm EDT; at that time, the Moon moves into optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius until Sept. 23rd. In the late evening, a somewhat challenging Venus/Jupiter aspect becomes exact at 9:12pm EDT; we started to feel this aspect build from Sept. 20th on, it will remain strong until Sept. 22nd. Monday is also the best time to start taking action on our New Moon intentions. More about all the details in next week’s forecast 🙂
